The coffee was just okay, but the staff was amazing and the chicken parm calzone I took home was to die for. I love that they had a lot of parking and tons of outdoors seating to enjoy time. They also had awesome dog treats which was great for those who wanted to sit outside with their furry companion. A great shop!

swift and kind service every time. cafe seating with plenty of natural light. spinach pies are so good. got pizza chips for the first time and it was such a cute take on a rhode island classic. this is my third time getting iced chamomile tea and i'm obsessed. it satisfies a very particular taste that i yearn for.

Amazing bakery with large variety of sweets, sandwiches, bread, pizza, and coffee. The service is always fast and friendly. There's tables to sit inside and there is a parking lot and street parking available. My favorites are the iced chai and spinach pies.

Email that I sent. They never responded to part one.

I used to love this place. I've been coming here for as long as I've lived here and have been very pleased with their products up until now. The unhelpful staff, non-responsive owners/managers, and low standards for customer service and food quality turned me off. Do yourself a favor and go to Pastiche on Fed Hill.

We love having this in the neighborhood. The bread is always so good and so fresh, lots of cakes and pastries too. Service staff is young and friendly. Sometimes there is a line, but later morning is nice and quiet. Good spot to hangout and eat a quick breakfast.

LaSalle Bakery bakes the best damned Italian bread I've had the pleasure of eating anywhere in New England! Tip: They bake their bread fresh daily so make a point of arriving early, because they usually sell out in a few hours Over and above their amazing bread, fans of exceptional pastries will enjoy their lemon squares and brownies :-)

One of the best coffee shops in Providence! The coffees are delicious with unique flavors such as banana hazelnut or snickerdoodle. However, The real star of the show are the bakery items. From breakfast sandwiches to cookies and cakes everything is freshly made and full of flavor. LaSalle is always a must when I'm in town!

Delicious chicken escarole soup and traditional baked goods and desserts. Service was a little disorganized, but manager intervened.

A nice lady greeted us and brought us to a table and gave us menus. We had grabbed canned sodas out of the cooler area, assuming that's how you do it? The pickles and slaw were rocking! My friend and I decided to split an order of potato latkes which come with apple sauce and Sour cream. I tried both ways and preferred the sour cream. I got the pastrami on rye and added ground mustard which was provided along with salt and pepper on each table I could only finish half. My dining mate got the turkey melt (toasted grilled) and loved it. I really want to go back and try the patty melt with Mavens relish. Get a macaroon! I literally ate mine in 2 sittings because it was so good and big!

Come for the décor, stay because your food hasn't arrived yet…read moreAfter seeing WhatDidYouEatTodaySir hype up Marvin's Delicatessen, I figured it was worth the ride down from the Boston area. I love a good deli. Unfortunately, this wasn't just disappointing--it was borderline comical. Let's start with the good: the place looks fantastic. Clean, modern, really well done. If Yelp rated based on interior design alone, this place is pushing 5 stars. Now... the rest. First clue something was off--the dining room felt like a walk-in freezer. Not exaggerating: every single table had people eating in their coats. At some point you have to look around and think, "maybe we turn the heat up before someone orders a side of frostbite." Then came the wait. And the wait. And the wait. Close to an hour for deli sandwiches. During that time, I had a clear view of the kitchen, which turned into dinner and a show. Plates were coming back nonstop--wrong bread, wrong orders, total confusion. It was like watching a live-action blooper reel. Eventually, our food arrives... and of course, it's wrong. Back it goes. No big deal--mistakes happen. Round two: soup comes out with vegetables after my wife clearly explained she has an allergy. The waitress caught it (thankfully), and back it goes again. What finally came out can only be described as "chicken soup in spirit." It tasted like someone waved a bouillon cube over hot water and called it a day. No seasoning, no substance, and I'm pretty sure the "chicken" made a brief guest appearance and left. Her sandwich? Also wrong--and somehow included onions and mystery vegetables. So that was basically game over. I ordered the 50/50 (pastrami and corned beef). I say "ordered," but identifying what actually showed up was a bit of a guessing game. The meat was dry--painfully dry. The pastrami (I think?) had the texture of kindling wood and looked like it had been sliced by someone who just discovered what a knife is. Tough, stringy, and completely lacking that juicy, melt-in-your-mouth quality you expect from a deli. The waitress seemed nice enough but didn't really know the menu, and the kitchen was clearly in full chaos mode. One guy--who I assume was the owner or manager--was running around like a man trying to put out ten fires with a squirt gun. At some point, we just started laughing. Not because it was good--because it was so bad it crossed into "you can't make this up" territory. Maybe I'm spoiled coming from the North Shore, where delis take pride in their corned beef and pastrami. But if you're going to call yourself a delicatessen, you've got to at least get the basics right. This place has the look, but none of the execution. I wouldn't go back. I wouldn't recommend it. And next time I'll just stay north of the border where the sandwiches actually show up correctly--and edible.

I warmed them up at home and when I took a bite into the buttery flaky crust, I was hooked. These were so delicious I instantly regretted not getting more things to try. I also had a hot chai with homemade vanilla syrup which was fragrant, sweet, and spicy at the same time - it was so good. The person behind the counter let me know that their menu changes weekly based on the what ingredients are in season and available. Another customer told me that everything is good and that I couldn't go wrong with whatever I selected. The items they sell are on the pricy side but absolutely worth it because of the quality ingredients they use in their baked goods. One bite and you can taste the difference. I'm looking forward to returning.

I like how most of their sweets have a nice crunch to it, but it's still moiste on the inside. I got a strawberry strudel today with fresh strawberries, soft-flaky center and what tasted like buttercream. I would highly recommend their pastry, but the coffee did fall flat to me. I've only had it once and it didn't do anything for me. We have so many good coffee shops in the neighborhood and never thought of coming back here for coffee. I will try their coffee again since it's been a while. The store is rather small, but it isn't intended on a dine in experience. I do like that you can see the chef in the back along with his partner in the front of the store. They are very nice people and super friendly. RI food fights brought me in and you don't get access to the whole sandwich menu here, unfortunately you have to pick between their "Mushroom Bahn MI" and their "Screaming BLT". I went with the BLT since I wasn't feeling the vegan option. The description was "chili-hoisin glazed bacon | sliced tomato baby greens tomato jam | dill pickle pickled red onion chipotle aioli toasty thick-sliced white bread". Honestly, it was underwhelming. It had some tasty components but it was pretty average. The bacon was terribly weak. It was probably frozen precooked bacon that is heated and brushed with a hoisen glaze. I was hoping for some thick cut glazed almost candied bacon. Their avg. sandwich was around $16-17. If paying for that, I'd be left pretty disappointed. On top of that, it probably took around 35-40 minutes to get the sandwich. Again, pretty okay sandwich, the pickled onion, tomato jam and Chipotle aioli elevated things, but it's in vain with the bacon they use. Their other sandwiches sound good, so it's possible I'll visit to try them out at some point but can't see myself running back here after my impression with this BLT.
