While I was scoping out the Arcade in Providence, RI, I stumbled upon Miss Vegan. The couple manning the table in this quaint indoor shopping mall had everything from brownies to mini pies. I was stoked to find this treasure trove of vegan baked goods. My husband and I ended up deciding on a cookie dough brownie. It was delightful. We were very excited to try the pies at this vegan bakery. We had never had vegan pastry and I was curious as to what changes there would be. So we tried the apple and the pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving. It was nice that they were at a store on the side where we could just go up to the window and pick up our order a very safely. We stood 6 feet apart along the sidewalk and wearing our masks so it was a very nice safe and quick experience. I would say that the difference that I found was in the crust. It wasn't as flaky or buttery as some crust on pies that I have purchased. It tasted good and the texture was just a little bit different but I wouldn't say that it was bad. Maybe a little bit chewy but that's certainly a matter of taste and preference. The apple pie was outstanding. The filling was seasoned so well and cooked to perfection. The pumpkin pie filling was a little too spicy for me. The rest of my very small family on Thanksgiving this year enjoyed it but we all admitted that it was just a little different from the seasonings that we are used to. That's not to say it was bad but different and we were looking for differences. So we very much enjoyed the pies and I look forward to trying more of the pastries in the future. read more

Just ordered a cake from miss vegan over the weekend for a family party. I got a cookie dough Cake and a dozen cannoli. Let me tell you, I was certainly impressed. My meat loving family didn't even know they were vegan. I fooled them all! Most went back for seconds too! They would not stop raving about the treats. The cake was moist, the frosting fluffy, and the cookie dough decedent. It was truly perfect and I. Any wait until my next pastry. I would certainly be ordering every chance I get. The cannolis were spot on. The shells were crunchy and the filling flavorful and the perfect amount of sweetness. In fact I enjoyed them more than Regular cannolis. Miss Vegan catered the dessert at my wedding. We got mini-cookies, cannolis, and cupcakes. The cupcakes were the best I've ever had, with the cake itself being moist and flavorful, and the various icings were rich and buttery rather than sugary. Miss Vegan is my absolute favorite New England vegan bakery. I can't tell you how many hours my boyfriend and I have driven just to pick up a few Miss Vegan pastries (though he probably could). Up until last Thursday, we had a mini Miss Vegan cake (well, two halves, one chocolate and one biscoff) in our freezer, that we had been saving for a special occasion. Well, let me tell you, that defrosted, many-month-old Miss Vegan's cake is nearly as good as fresh!! At the moment my favorites are the cannolis (you can't go wrong with the original, the biscoff cookie, the pumpkin spice, or the cookie dough...basically all of them), the mini cakes (the brownie batter and biscoff cookie are both crazy good), and the doughnuts (yeasted, yet so fluffy). At some point I'm planning on trying the stuffed cookies and bars, though it's the cannoli and cakes are so good that I'm hesitant to try anything new. Moral of the story: even if you need to drive an hour for Miss Vegan, it's totally worth it. I was hesitant to write this review because these cakes are so amazing I want it all to myself! Also, I never really write reviews but had to for this one! I have ordered about 3 times now and each time I was not disappointed one bit. I was actually blown away. My family and I have been vegan for the last 21 years and I have yet to find a vegan bakery that comes anywhere near this. Miss Vegan has even been able to accommodate me on short notice and also when she didn't really have the availability, but made it happen. She is professional and responds promptly. I have had so many people ask me where I got the cake and didn't even realize it was vegan. My good non vegan friend even ordered one all for herself for her birthday. Keep up the great work!! Can't wait until the storefront is open. Maybe you should consider a monthly subscription package so I can try all of your flavors! But that Biscoff cake.....it is EVERYTHING!!!!! Highly recommend! Miss Vegan is amazing! I placed an order late in the week (for the weekend) after my usual bakery changed their ordering policies. Miss Vegan's was so open and accommodating to my needs despite having posted on Instagram that October was very booked. When I went to go pick up my cake, it turns out I had ordered for the wrong date. There was no hesitation and they went all the way to the kitchen to pick it up for me even though they had an upcoming appointment! They even refused to take an additional tip! This is well above and beyond what I would expect, especially since the screw up was on my end. Literally saved me!! I got the cookie espresso cake and I promise you, no other cake will ever compare! It was so delicious. Everyone loved it and asked where we got it from. Even the people who don't typically like sweets enjoyed it. The birthday girl was beyond happy. Although I have never gone to their store front having them be at various vegan pop ups & vegan festivals in the Boston area is simply fantastic. People never understand that vegan desserts are just tasty if not better than regular ones. They think veg*n food is going to taste horrible which makes no sense to me at all. Being able to get their baked goodies that sometimes I can't even wait to get home to eat it. Cause let's be real, you can't buy just one thing. There are such a variety of things to get from cannolis to stuffed cookies & mini cakes. You simply can't go wrong. Of course everyone has their own particular favorites so you basically have to try one of everything to be able to make a decision. I am a cookie monster, always have been, so am more prone to get that plus brownies & cannolis are another great choice. So the cake was really very good, However the customer service was terrible, We were on the cape and unavoidably delayed picking up the cake. It was for a wedding, and she was very difficult and inflexible about the pick up arrangements and eventually left the cake outside her door. We were getting ready for a wedding at 4:00 that day and driving 4 hours to get the cake, and SHE was telling me how busy she was... It's unfortunate as we have a 150 person wedding at Chatham BArs inn next October and would have hired her to do the dessert table, but I am not comfortable dealing with her again. We are on the look out for another vegan baker to do the wedding if anyone has suggestions, send them along! read more

I would not be perturbed if the desserts I bought were instead handed to me by a coworker or friend who was trying their hand at vegan baking. However, for the amount I paid, I am sorely disappointed. There was nothing horrendously wrong with them, but they were bland and overly sweet. I was excited when I saw vegan cannoli - vegan custard could be really great! Instead they were filled with a simple frosting. We need to elevate vegan cuisine at every opportunity and show our dairy-driven friends that plant based everything can be decadent, interesting, and inspired. I ordered a couple of desserts for Thanksgiving this year from Miss Vegan and they were FANTASTIC! I ordered the snickerdoodle cake, vanilla cupcakes and a pumpkin crème brûlée. Crème brûlée is my absolute favorite and I was thrilled to find a vegan version. I was not disappointed! The texture was perfect and the taste was phenomenal. The vanilla cupcakes were decorated like turkeys and were absolutely adorable. They were delicious as well. The star of the show was the snickerdoodle cake. The spice cake is amazing. As it being vegan it is a little dense, But I like a dense cake so no issues for me! The flavor was fantastic, just the right amount of spice. The frosting was also absolutely perfect. Just sweet enough and wonderful texture. It even had cookie dough in the filling and cookie dough balls on top. I cannot say enough about this bakery. I have purchased many items from them from cakes to stuffed cookies. My kids are obsessed, and my family can't even Tell the items are vegan. I would recommend them to anyone. I'd say my top choices are their cannolis and their cookie dough bars. The cannoli are better than regular ones and my family is Italian.
