Excellent selection of craft brews! Highly recommend. My favorite is the Carmel Delight Stout, delicious!

    Vacation afternoon

Went here for the first time. It's a hidden little gem. It's very cozy inside. They have a shelf that has lots of games. They don't sell food so you can bring your own. They do sell flavored popcorn. Sarah was working the shift we showed up for. She is very knowledgeable about the beers on tap. She ask questions so she help you make the right choices. She did not steer us wrong and we even tried one out of our comfort zone. They have a refrigerator so you can take some home if you wish. They also have a nice covered patio area outside. It was too chilly the day we went but can't wait to come another day to sit outside and relax.

Lops Brewing Company is a craft brewery that opened in Woonsocket, Rhode Island in July 2019. It was founded by owner and brewer Sean "Lops" Lopolito. Lopolito had a long career as a business consultant before deciding to reinvent himself as a craft brewer; he had home-brewed for many years. Alec Santos, a graduate of the Johnson & Wales University brewing program, is the brewery's assistant brewer. "Beer quality, style rotation and providing a clean and comfortable atmosphere for all of our customers are still the key drivers in staying competitive," says Lopolito. I visited Lops Brewing for the first time this past Saturday. I was visiting Rhode Island for the day because I wanted to cycle the Blackstone River Greenway which currently stretches from Providence to Woonsocket. I had a lovely 20-mile ride and the brewery was just a short distance from the end of the trail. I arrived just after they opened for the day. The brewery is small but cozy. The taproom has a nice 'Industrial chic' look to it, and there's an outdoor patio area in the back. Most of the beers available on tap that day were IPAs, which was just fine with me. I ordered a taster flight consisting of "Block Island" (a session IPA), "Watch Hill" (a New England IPA), "Sunrise Mimosa" (a New England IPA), and "Breakers" (a Double IPA). Everything was refreshing and delicious, but "Sunrise Mimosa" was my favorite. I also ordered a full pour of their "Lemonade Shandy", which is a fantastic beer to have after a long bike ride. Before leaving, I ordered a six-pack of the shandy and a growler of "Sunrise Mimosa" to go. I packed everything in my saddlebag, hopped back onto my bike, and headed on the trail towards Providence. I enjoyed my trip to Lops Brewing and would definitely visit if I'm in the area again.

Espresso peanut butter and dragonfruit pomegranate cask ale. Both AMAZING!! Our go to brewery when in RI.

    Jumbo Flight

Lops is a fantastic addition to downtown Woonsocket! It's got the aesthetic trappings of a great brewery, exposed brick, shiny new floors, and an array of different seating nooks. One of the things that sets Lops apart is that they have two different flight sizes. You can do a standard flight or you can do a jumbo flight. The difference is that the jumbo gets you 4 larger glasses for your flight. My jumbo flight only came to $13 which was a steal! A huge thanks to the bartender for taking the time to explain our options to us. In terms of beer quality, the ales I enjoyed the most were the winter ale and the hard cider. The Watch Hill IPA is branded as a New England IPA so I tried that because I'm fine with a juicier, smoother IPA, but it didn't look or taste like a NE IPA. If you like hops you'll be fine with this one, but I'm not sure if it's truly to a NE IPA style. In any case, if you're looking for something new to try in Woonsocket, Lops is a gem in the neighborhood, and I hope it inspires more businesses to come breathe more life into the area. Lops is leading the way!

Pumpkin Spice Ale & Apple Blossom Trail Cider

Such a hidden gem in Woonsocket!! My husband and I stopped by on a Friday night and grabbed a table to enjoy some beverages. My husband tried two NEIPA's (Newport & Watch Hill) and the Pumpkin Spice Ale - with the sugared rim, of course! I had the Apple Blossom Trail Cider - so good! They also have soft drinks and snacks available, sometimes have food trucks scheduled. Love the atmosphere, love the staff... We'll be back for sure!!

Great spot. Awesome service, stouts and IPAs are on point. Plenty of space and rarely see kids which is refreshing for a brewery.

As I'm writing this I'm regretting not playing one of the arcade games they have. The service was friendly, quick. Beers were delicious. This place has been on my list for a long…read moretime and when I realized where it was I thought this would be great to check out after a busy afternoon of errands along Route 1. It's located right at the entrance of an industrial area. There is a very small lot for parking but it was completely full when we visited today, so we parked along the road where a number of other cars were also parked. This seemed to be okay and the signs just requested folks not park on the grass. The entrance is set back from the street so you kind of need to go around towards the back. We saw they had a food truck, Farm to Sandwich, which although kind of pricey, was super delicious. We both got the All American Smash burger with fries. Fries were so crisp and well crafted and the burger was amazing with a great sauce reminiscent of a Big Mac. For beers, since it was our first time here, we decided to try a bit of everything with flights. Their flights are $13 for 4, 5 oz pours. I chose the Coffee Milk Stout, You are Such an Ass, Bienvenu and Justin's Jangle. We started which the You are Such an Ass IPA, which was described as a light IPA but really didn't taste like an IPA at all. We honestly thought they had poured us the wrong beer. As IPA enthusiasts, this was disappointing. The Bienvenu, which is a Red Ale with Panela (unrefined Colombian sugar cane) was infinitely better. The Coffee Milk Stout, I understand is very popular, but I thought this was average. Justin's Jangle, a Maple Praline Porter was my favorite! Really nice, complex brew! We also really enjoyed the live music from Jake Frezza, a local musician out of North Providence. He sang and played guitar and covered a diverse sampling of songs including Brittney Spears (Toxic), James Taylor and Marvin Gaye. His version of "What's Going On" was particularly excellent. I normally dread listening to live performers at breweries but this guy is actually very talented! Kudos to Ravenous for engaging such a high quality musician! Also, for a Saturday, it was not overcrowded or over run with kids. There was just one family with a super quiet baby and we noted just one dog inside. On exiting, I saw they have a nice memorial where they offer to pour a beer to a fallen service member. Very nice! Gender neutral restrooms Pinball Separate rooms make it quieter than breweries in just one big industrial space. Friendly service at the bar and no lines! Bar stools with no back, kind of uncomfortable and there seemed to be no other seating options like chairs or sofas. In summary: Highlights: Bienvenu Red Ale Justin's Jangle Jake Frezza live music Nice memorial to fallen soldiers Low Lights: You are Such an Ass IPA Barstools/ seating Would definitely stop back here again when in the area!

Its in a nice little spot, there was plenty of parking and the space is clearly new which you notice in a nice clean newly paved parking lot. I like when I walked in- there is a small entry - you're not thrown into a big space. I wasn't expecting table service at a brewery - even with a full menu - that was a nice surprise. Our server did have a slight lag where we were thinking wheeerrrrrre did he go? But the rest of the night he was on top of things. I ordered poutine and a couple of beers. The poutine was good - I like shoestring fries. But I have one beloved former RI restaurants poutine taking up too big a space in my heart still, and this didn't quite hit that. But it was a good snack. Great serving size. We sat in a small alcove with like 4 - 4 top tables. I dig the decorations. Christmas lights are festive and fun. The bar looked decently busy for a wednesday evening - but the acoustics inside work well and it didn't feel noisy or distracting. I got the Cohesive (American IPA) and def enjoyed it. We didn't love our particular table - we were seated right where people line up to order beer, so it felt like they were basically standing at our table. If I went back, I'd probably ask to sit somewhere else or just grab a seat at the bar. The beer was decent, with about 8-10 varieties on tap. You can tell this is a local favorite. What a great place to meet up and connect with friends! Definitely worth checking out.
