CraftRoots in Milford is exactly what I love about living in the metrowest community. Not only are they pumping out tasty craft beer, they're also giving it all back to the community. CraftRoots is a 501(c)3 non-profit and each month they select a new local charity to support. How amazing is that?! AND the best part?! It really is GREAT craft beer and even greater people. The flight is the perfect way to mix and match to find your go to pint for the evening. The staff are funny, engaging, and super kind, and the owners are some of the most down to earth, kind hearted folks I've met. Fun place, small brewery with decent offerings on tap. Typically I go on a weekend night (Fri or Sat) they generally have live music. There brews range from a lite lager, to NE style IPA's to a stout, something for all tastes. For food it varries, they do have snacks but the real food comes from food trucks so check the website to see who's serving it up on the day you're going, the taco truck seems to be a crowd favorite but it can vary. The setting is industrial garage, I like the look of the stainless steel vats that ferment the brews. The people who operate the place are very friendly and welcoming, the crowd can range from early 20 somethings to 60 somethings, dancing is encouraged. A very deceiving hole in the wall brewery in Milford. Located in an industrial park this very open space inside is warm and inviting. They typically have either a band or trivia on most nights. Bartenders were patient as we looked over the choices. The Autumn Ale was a bold and tasty pumpkin beer and then the Never Marry A Murphy was a great red ale. CraftRoots Brewing has some delicious beers layered with flavor. I had the Aloha Blond Ale. A very fruit forward Ale. It is very good. My wife had the Hazy, Hop & Humid IPA also fruity and delicious. I swung by here the other day to try out their beers and it was a cool experience. As a DIPA lover I was disappointed they didn't have any. I had a flight of two of their IPA's and two of their Porter's. The beers were pretty good, but not the kind I drink. The bartender was attentive and the flight was only $10. The vibe is ok. I liked the beer. It was dog friendly, and there were many adorable pups and kids. The wait staff ere lovely. My only objection is that they started to pack up the restaurant while the raffle for the special event was being called and waaaay before closing time. Been there a bunch of times before the original owners sold it. From what I've tasted it has improved. The original brewer is still there. Which is cool. What an amazing indoor/outdoor location they have! Extremely spacious and could fit quite a number of people. We came on a Saturday so they had live music which was such a great way to spend the afternoon, especially after COVID lock-down! Beer is excellent and they have a great variety of beers, which is good because I like lighter beers and my husband is more of IPA. Plastic cups only outside, glass/flights indoors. I personally would suggest getting the smaller size if you're outside just so it doesn't get hot, but that's my own opinion. Food trucks come here so check out the rotating menu for something tasty! We enjoyed our time there. The space is eclectic and comfortable- very spacious. Beers are tasty- although lacking much dimension. We did 2 flights which allowed us to try each of the 8 beers that were available. 2 stand outs with more complex tastes were Blood Orange IPA and the Autumn Ale. read more

Went here on a Friday night and they had both music AND food in addition to their fine selection of beer and corn hole. I can't believe I haven't reviewed as we have been in a few times already. There aren't many breweries around the area so we were happy to stumble upon this one when we were out and about. It's a really well coming atmosphere. We tried every beer they had and all were well made. It's female owner which is amazing as you don't see that often in the beer world. Stopped by here on a Friday night and it was packed! Live music and a food truck. Kind of your typical industrial building converted to a brewery. Really nice staff. Beer was OK. The space is very nicely finished with some attention to detail that you don't see in other breweries. We enjoyed our flight but nothing really jumped out at us. I liked the red rye particularly because it was NOT the hoppy IPA that you find so often these days. We would definitely stop by again if we are in the area (though we'll grab a pizza first.) Also, this brewery is owned an operated by a woman, which is a rarity in the beer world and worth supporting. Cool place, tasty beer and awesome staff. The place is kind of located in an industrial part of town and is not the easiest to find. But you'll be happy you did. The drinking room is really cool, especially when it's nice out and the large garage doors are open. The tanks are exposed and offer a great backdrop for the corn hole boards. The place is well designed, with great attention to detail. There is about 15 seats at the bar, and table seating for at least 25 more. In addition to corn hole, there is some board games as well. This spot is byof, so you can stroll in there with a whole pizza and eat it with their delicious beers. The IPA was my favorite beer. It has a great hoppy finish. I will definitely be back here. They say it closes at 10 pm on Fridays but if there's people at the bar, they'll stay open longer. read more

Went Friday March 19. Place was busy early and the beer was delicious! They had a wing place serving up some great wings and they had a tofu dish for the vegetarian with us. Robin (one of the owners) stopped by to chat. You can just tell she is passionate about the brewery business as well as making sure everybody feels welcome and has a good time. A great local brewery with live music and varied food trucks on the weekend. A rarity in breweries as it is owned by 2 woman, who are always around chatting with the customers and manning the bar. They have indoor cornhole, games to choose from, and sometimes host art events. I wish there was more parking, but otherwise, a great place to spend an afternoon or evening. read more

I have been here twice and each time the beer was ice cold and the bands were pretty good. Older crowd when I was there (40 -60). I like that the music is loud but you can still carry on a conversation. Very relaxed vibe- saw a few people playing cards etc. Friendly laid back atmosphere. Service sucks and the owner sucks more. She very unprofessional and confrontational for someone who has bar stools in an empty' parking lot. The beer is mediocre at best. We drank and played cards for 4 hours, brought our own food. No frills is the way to cater a craft brewing experience to write home about it. This place hits it. This was a total shocker for me. We had a gang of friends (all 56-65) that planned a fun night out and someone suggested this brewery. I'm not a craft beer guy so start there. Well, joke's on me! This a great spot that is nothing like you might expect. I drank their stout which was just delicious. I like stout generally if I'm not drinking just regular old bottled beer because it is infused with nitrogen making it a lot less bloaty feeling and it goes down smoothly. They had a fun band playing tunes we brought food (yes, it is a BYOF place) as all the sell is their beer. Get there early because they close at 10PM and they are not a "bar" in the classic sense; they are a craft brewer that is setup nicely with utilitarian furniture and great beer! Oddly I heard about this through my wine club, and decided to give it a try. The beer was really good - they had 9 options to try with everything from blonde to stout. They are not allowed to sell food, though they do have pretzels and some light snacks, but you can bring food with you to enjoy with the beer. They give the option of a four beer sampler (I recommend starting with this), and they have 8 and 16oz pours of everything. There are seats right at the bar, and there are high tops,tables, and a function room. The bar itself is pretty cool as it is made from 2 very large pieces of wood. The people were very nice and they give the option of paying or running a tab. It is very close to I-495 and MA 109, but not on the main drag. You would never find it by mistake, but definitely worth the trip! read more

my fiance surprised me with a visit to this brewery last night, and i'm so glad he did. the vibe is very casual and relaxed, but grown up. the garage doors were open, letting in a bit of a breeze. the space is quite large, but they've paid a lot of attention to detail; it feels very "finished" in a good way. there's a beautiful wooden art piece over the bar, and there are tree accents everywhere ("roots" brewing, get it?) that are really just lovely. for the beers, they have a good variety of styles. i think their red rye ale was my favorite. nice and deep, with a bit of a chocolate finish. the double ipa was also good, and the blonde was phenomenal- better than any other i've had. like most other breweries, they have a few non-beer things available for purchase: some sodas, chips, and local made pretzels. they also have a good variety of take out menus from some of the local joints, a few that even deliver. staff were friendly and helpful, and our fellow patrons all seemed to be enjoying themselves. with this spot being just ten minutes from our house, we will absolutely be back. kudos to them, as they seem to be having some success. the place was fairly full at around 9 on a friday night. read more

Beer is pretty good however with this COVID-19 going around either bring your own cup/glass or avoid altogether. Was there the other night and the way they hand wash their glasses is horrible.. I would stick to a place that use sanitizing dishwashers then chill glasses after. read more

I've been coming to Craft Roots frequently over the last year with nothing but great experiences. Typically great beer and great servers. I invited a group of friends to join us on Saturday and we had the worst experience. We were there for two hours and only approached once by the server who is also the owner. I tried to order at the bar and was told by the owner I was not allowed to order at the bar. After not being serviced, I asked for our check, which was never given to us as she was busy talking with other patrons. I had to ask another server who was very busy but was able to help us out. Great beer, but I'll unfortunately not go back due to the owners lack of customer service. read more

Found this hidden Gem durning my weekend trip in NE. Have visited many different brewery's all over the states and found this one to be a really cool place to hang , drink some brew and listen to tunes! The service was excellent, bartenders need only to hear your name once and they got it! Many beers to choose from so I recommend the Flight! I'm a big Porter drinker so I recommend the only porter the have on the menu! The live music was pretty awesome as well. Outside they had a Food truck selling pizza but I didn't get a chance to try.
