After reading other reviews of Start Line I felt compelled to add to the collection. Went around 5:30 on a Saturday night and it was fairly busy but not packed by any means (perhaps dry January slowing them down a bit?). Overall the building has a barn-like quality and is clean and spacious inside. It was a seat yourself and order everything at the corner of the bar kind of place. You just need to know your table number so the runner knows where to deliver your food. Apparently all the cooler drinks (nonalcoholic) are the same price so we just told them we needed 3 and grabbed what we needed for the kids. Beers were decent and their logo is probably one of the coolest in the industry. The food was about as good as it gets at a brewpub. I had the beef on weck. Flavor was spot on, beef was a little overcooked and dry but the au jus was tasty and helped moisten the sandwich up a notch. The giant pretzel with beer cheese was pretty epic and definitely one of the highlights. The fries were also really palatable. My daughter made short work of her caesar salad and felt it was actually one of the better ones she's had. I see comments about how the staff here aren't that friendly and I don't really understand them. I mean, they didn't kiss our asses but they were professional, attentive and in constant motion. Not really sure what some yelpers are looking for at these types of establishments but I found them to be on par with most brewpubs I visit. I don't spend much time in Hopkington, but wouldn't hesitate to stop back in here if I'm up that way again! read more

It's always reliable and family oriented even though a brewery. Burgers are good, I'm not a beer drinker but they tried lol to find one I liked. I prefer cocktails but you can taste any brew you want. Staff friendly! read more

4 adults, 2 children,amazingly fast service and outstanding beer especially the pumpkin with the cinnamon rim. Southwest salad was awesome accompanied by mouth watering corn bread. The kids hot dog meal came with applesauce, French fries and a giant chocolate chip cookie. We added a side of mac'n' cheese served in a mini cast iron pan. The best brisket I have eaten in Massachusetts. Smoked perfectly, so tender I could even cut the burnt ends with a fork. Others in the party have Adult Chicken tenders, a Burger and Smoked Turkey BLT, all very good. They also enjoyed a variety of beers. read more

Since moving into Milford two years ago, Start Line has been one of our go to spots. A cozy brewery with several different seating areas (including ample outdoor space) as well as their own kitchen/menu, which I find many breweries do not have. Food has been consistently good and includes nachos, wings, barbecue, and different sandwiches/salads. We have also started going to trivia on Wednesday nights, which is a fun way to break up the week. Staff is always super friendly and willing to chat. read more

Great brewery in a super location and food is terrific. Lots of beers on tap, large space for indoor or outdoor dining. The outdoor space is in the back of the brewery in the green house. Live music many weekends. Food is varied with great burgers, BBQ, onion rings. I see families, friends and couples all enjoying this great spot. Only negative is ordering. You have to go to the cash register to order beers and food. Food is delivered to your table but if you need another beer...up you go to the register. Moral of the story? Get your second beer before the food arrives as the line to order can be lengthy. Big open parking lot with more spaces out back. read more

I was soo happy to finally make it to Start Line Brewery. I came two days after doing the Boston Marathon so. It felt right to celebrate with a beer from here. I had their special Marathon beer which was tasty. The cans for this beer are also pretty cool. I went just as they were opening so luckily it was not crowded at all. But, as even just a few min passed by I saw quite a few people roll on through. This brewery is pretty big. It has different seating areas. There is a fully indoor space, an out door space that is covered and then a little area with a fire pit that is totally outside and then another like inclosed outdoor area. The staff here is for the most part nice. I did not interact with them really as I did not order food just one beer. They have a small area for their gift shop which has a nice selection of items though I do wish they had more hat variation selection. I would deff come back here to try the food and other beers of theirs. I recommend coming here either alone or with a group. This seemed to be, at least when I was there a great afterwork spot to come with groups of co-workers and friends. read more

It's not a sit down and be waited on kind of place. Approach the cashier, place your order and provide the table number (displayed with large numbers on each table), I went there by myself on a Saturday night for dinner. Partly due to their description of their Fish n' Chips meal, I decided to give it. go. It was pretty good, but the size of the fish was disappointing. A few hours later and I'm hungry again! Great place for drinks, but I'm not sure about dinners/lunches. The size of the fish, however, isn't enough to dissuade me of giving the place another go. read more

Good mix of beer styles. Chicken sandwiches are legit. Huge space, at times too kid friendly so pro/con depending on why you're going.

This brewery is big league! Beautiful building in a beautiful area. Nice clean seating and friendly service. About 7-8 different hazy IPAs on tap but also a few ales sours and stouts. I tried their go-to Hop Load hazy and it was pretty damn good. I usually dig a good Galaxy hop as well and they happened to have the Spacey Hazy with galaxy hops. I really liked that one. It had a nice, spicey little kick. Great mix of people. You have young couples, old grandparents. Families with toddlers. Very inclusive and welcoming environment, I think anyone would feel welcome and comfortable here. Food selection is fairly limited, just burgers and salads but the grilled chicken sandwich was good. No complaints. If you are looking for a nicer brewery, not something in an old industrial building that also serves food. This is your place. read more

Wow! Did I just find my new weekend spot? I have been meaning to try this brewery for a while and just got around to checking it out over the weekend when a local band was playing there I decided to check it out and it did not disappoint!! This brewery is massive with both indoor and outdoor seating. The beer selection was great even with some non beer choices, which I appreciate. The food was great, which can sometime be a hit or miss at a brewery, there was plenty of options. Loved the atmosphere, the staff was kind and helpful. The only downside was parking was difficult due to the amount of people there, the actual parking spots around the building was plenty but you can tell this is a popular place to be. read more

This is my new favorite brewery. Recently renovated I believe Start Line has a large amount of space for activities, but be sure to get here early to grab a seat as I went on a Saturday night and we had to be on the prowl to snipe a table. They have a good selection of beers here, I had gotten the Dark Chocolate Stout and the Hazelnut Cold Brew Coffee Stout which were amazing (I preferred the coffee one). I topped off the night with the Honey Ritual Pale Ale which I also enjoyed. Really the highlight of my night though was their nachos because I am constantly on the hunt for a good pile of nachos - which appear simple to do, but are often done poorly. The nachos had toppings THROUGH AND THROUGH and even when we got to the bottom of the pile - there was no slacking in the toppings to chip ratio. Four of us finished the nachos, but the plate could feed five for sure, and six plus if you're going to get more food. We ordered ours with Pulled Pork which was angelic. Can't wait to come back here and grab some gear as well, as their turtle logo really speaks to me. read more

This was a really nice brewery with plenty of room for people to hang out. They had both indoor and outdoor seating and they had real fire pits to sit around as it was starting to get cooler. The food looked really good but unfortunately we were only there for a drink so I didn't get to try any of it. It was mostly bbq and I'm definitely going to get some next time I am here. read more

I can be tough on restaurants when I review them but am happy to give a great rating to a place that gets the basics right, and this place does. Friends recommended trying this place, which I was completely unaware of - I remember the building opening years ago with a new grocery market and didn't know that market had been replaced. Very large brewpub, with inside seating, covered seating outside, and fully outside seating. Large bar had 3 people attending, and we were able to order and get our beers served almost instantly. Very roomy and seemed very clean. It could have handled many dozens of patrons without feeling crowded I expect. We ordered off their menu, and the food was very good, better than I would have expected (I had their brisket and poutine, both excellent). I only tried their Craic Irish Red, which I also enjoyed. The others with me all really liked their food and beer also. That's it - fairly basic offerings, great food, local brewed beed, clean roomy place and great service. My only comment for the place is that there were too many IPAs. This is too trendy, and you are doing fine beer a disservice by not having a much wider variety of styles. But I'll absolutely be back soon! read more

Nice casual place for a custom brewery. Great selection of IPAs and other Hops. Wednesdays offer a good-sized burger, which is a great deal. Prepared to order with chips or fries and a pickle. Been here a couple times now and I really like it. Tucked away in the residential section of Hopkinton near the high school, the brewery is situated on a spacious spot with lots of parking and a large indoor seating capacity. The beer selection is really diverse. I'm not a big IPA guy, and having a variety of lagers, brown ales, and darker beers is a real treat. $10 flights are a great way to try them out! And they have a nice selection of food and snacks. Today I had the tacos. I'll confess I feel like $14 for 2 tacos is a bit steep. They were good. Just seems high. Seating is spacious. The team is friendly. And they even sell locally made sodas too! read more

This is an awesome farm-style brewery adjacent to an artisan market which has killer food, from bar appetizers to deli sandwiches to pasta dishes. The beer is certainly the star of the show. The Hop Load IPA is amazing, and the Acrobat double IPA is one of the best I've had. It is so hoppy yet smooth, with subtle citrus notes. I was surprised by how good the beer was. This brew pub area is relatively small with seating for about 20. There is no wall separating the brewery from the market and you can and go as you please. It is a really awesome setup, and a very cozy atmosphere. There are no darts or any typical bar games. I believe they had board games. I highly recommend this place for a mellow night out for great beer and food. I absolutely love this place! read more

Okay, officially love this place. Every time I come here something is new. But what stays the same is the incredibly welcoming, upbeat, witty proprietress pouring drinks and/or taking orders. This time we ordered a couple of avocado tacos and Parmesan fries. We played a little corn hole out back while waiting for the meal. Large open, sun filled spaces with long tables encourage talking with others, if you so choose. Ordered an Irish Red Ale which went down easy. You can always order a flight from a nice selection of IPAs, stouts, and pale ales. The taco was excellent tasting with just the right amount of sauce. The fries plentiful, lots to share, and had an abundance of Parmesan cheese on them. They have a stage ready to go with musical entertainment hopefully starting next month. We love Start Line Brewery! My husband has been a loyal fan since they opened, even having his 40th birthday there. We've been waiting anxiously for the expansion to open and it's great. Friday night and the place is packed. Food was yummy and quick out of the kitchen. Staff is so friendly. Ted, the owner, was talking to everyone and making sure they were enjoying themselves. Just an observation of the owner. Beer selection is not bad, it's the owner. Once during the pandemic, we called for our reservation, came to the brewery, gave our name, got seated and the owner practically accused us of just seating ourselves without reservation. We told him to check the reservation list. Another time we were seated outside and a family who had a couple of kids were enjoying themselves and we heard him tell them that "someone complained" about their kids. We doubted that and went to them later and said so. Not very family friendly atmosphere. And now we see his hostile signs. read more

Came here for the first time the other day. Atmosphere and beer are great. Was a little disappointed in the food though. Got the loaded fries and bbq sampler which we received on the outdoor patio. Not sure why the food came out in takeout containers which was served on the cold side. The cheese on the fries was cold and solidified. For the prices they charge for food I would expect a little better showing. BBQ tasted good, brisket was pretty fatty and pulled pork was dry. Overall not a bad experience but I'd suggest go for the beer and ambiance. read more

We enjoyed both the hazelnut cold brew coffee stout as well as the Home stretch dark chocolate stout! Both were great especially the dark chocolate! We had a Horrible experience today at start line brewing :-( we arrived at 12 and ordered about 10mins after we arrived. Food came at 12.47. We were going to have to eat and run since it took so long. But we made the terrible mistake of complaining about the wait and were subjected to an aggressive tirade from the manager who claimed the feedback was unfair. He went so far as to check the time stamp on the order, come back and tell us that we should leave because he didn't want customers like us making unfair feedback. In other words He kicked us out for complaining!!! Because he didn't think the complaint was fair. I have actually eaten here before several times and I think the food is great. But The wait has been a problem every time; I have never eaten here and not waited 30mins for the food. In my opinion the feedback on wait times is absolutely fair. To try to debunk our feedback and then get aggressive and angry enough to kick us out is something I have never ever seen before and it took me by surprise. he clearly doesn't know how to handle customers and customers complaints. But If you don't know how to handle a complaint, you should not be in the service industry. I'm still shaking and angry and will probably never return to your establishment again after this experience. read more

Some of the BEST beer! Atmosphere is great - hop garden in the back that you can see from the outside tables and half in/half out tables. The staff were incredible - we had such a good time here and we can't thank them enough for that! Also, the food is really, really good which can sometimes be hard to find at breweries! (Then again, we're usually looking for good beer at breweries and must emphasize how good the beer is here too!) We made it here somewhat by accident and are just SO glad to have found it. Stopped by for lunch, folks ordered the BBQ smoked brisket, grilled chicken sandwiches, and bacon cheeseburger. My son declared it that to be some of the best barbecue he's ever tasted. Not sure why this place got such high reviews...probably all the Hopkinton homers raving about it because it falls within town limits. Beer was okay but the food was dreadful. Our table ordered the Herb Parmesan fries and they were as soggy beyond belief. The BBQ chips were so-so; they had good flavor but the pulled pork was drier than the Sahara Desert. For the main meal, I wasn't overly hungry so I tried my dads fish taco that he didn't finish because they were terrible. And I concur, this may be the saltiest dish I have ever had. The atmosphere was terrible for the one fact that they had a DJ playing songs that are probably played at a middle school dance. The only redeeming quality of this place is that it's the only place like it's kind in Hopkinton. It's a shame that it's not better since it's the only brewery in Hopkinton. read more
