Just go here! Everyone and everything is fantastic! Michelle and Mike made my visit perfect

Went to Central House to grab dinner. I had the Buffalo Cauliflower as an appetizer, it was delicious. Pastrami for the main course, solid choice. I was a little disappointed that ordering with chips was just a side of ruffles and not some home made chips. We sat at the bar and service was fast, friendly and everything came out right. It was a smaller spot, tables filled up fast and it was loud. read more

Real neighborhood restaurant and bar atmosphere is friendly. Fridays is a great night to be there for fish and Wednesdays chicken Parm is excellent. Weight staff was attentive and the service was very good. read more

This one is bittersweet - the "yea" - found an absolute the gem in our own backyard. The "Ugh", we have lived here 30 years and they have been open 50 years! A miss for us, but no longer. A great neighborhood spot, very welcoming staff, comfortable bar and seating, nice clientele and good food. Oh yah, the good selection of local and national draft beers. read more

Seafood on Friday nights is very good. My wife enjoys the fish and chips and I had fish and chips and agree. My favorite though are the scallops. They come two ways but I like them fried. The batter is light. read more

Nice local pub with good choice of food an beers. Seafood is only on Friday's ! Keep that in mind.

Good bar food and reasonably priced. The seafood offerings on Friday are colossal and pure comfort. The lunchtime hours are a bit unpredictable during the week and the space can be reserved for private events like funeral receptions. Bring your appetite! the portions are huge and the food is great. read more

Everything was just right. Food, waitstaff good. Can be loud depending upon customers but quality outweighs noise. Location not ideal for parking. read more

In town on business and my wife and I tried this place out on the fly because it was close. Nice neighborhood tavern. Not your typical dark dingy place. Very clean, bright with friendly staff and locals. Burger special on Monday nights. Burgers were delicious. Seafood specials on Fridays. We plan to return before we leave town. read more

Great food and service! Tried the chili, steak and cheese grinder, chicken salad sandwich and tuna melt. Everything was delicious!

We love the idea of this home town tavern. Been around for many years. Seeing lots of changes in the past year. Some not all good. Food not as good. My med/rare burger, very dry. Burger bun way to big for the patty. Saturday fried Fish was tasteless. Steak an cheese dry. Chicken sandwich dry and overcooked. Fries not edible. Few options on a Saturday afternoon menu. Prices seem out of line for the quality. Maybe that's why I see most people ordering drinks only. Service is lacking when busy. Got my order wrong and had to wait too long for it to be corrected. Very disappointed on this vist. Not sure I'd recommend the food. I hope they improve because atmosphere is fun. $$$ read more

Came here for lunch with a coworker on a Friday to take advantage of the seafood. The restaurant is small in size so for lunch it was fine and easy to find seating, but I could definitely see a wait here on the weekends. For meal started with the Home made fish chowder. It was a nice cup of chowder, with good chunks of fish, potato, etc. Then for the main course moved to Fish and Chips. I guess my only complaint is for the money there was only 1 fish fillet. Usually around these parts you would typically get 2 so it felt portion wise there was a little bit of skimp on the fish. As the fish went it was cooked well and overall made it more disappointed there wasn't more. read more

Would have given 5 stars if not for an experience with a waitress at the very end. My date misread the check amount and didn't put in enough for much of a tip- an honest mistake. The waitress confronted him about it, clearly (and understandably) upset about the lack of tip after good service. He tried to make it right immediately and was apologetic, but the waitress was still really weird about it. It was a genuine accident and we tried to fix it (she got her $ in the end). I really enjoyed my experience here until that happened and I'm now not sure that I'll come back here. read more

This is a great little dive bar with tons of charm and character. The bartender Becky was absolutely awesome friendly, quick, and made the whole experience even better. The wings were some of the best I've had in a while, perfectly crispy and packed with flavor. Definitely a hidden gem worth checking out! read more

We loved the atmosphere, staff, food, and other customers! A great mix of ages, and everyone with a smile! We highly recommend!

The service here is always fantastic. It's casual and low key - and the food is good (especially some of the newer vegetarian appetizers!) They always have live sports showing and music to keep things fun. The drinks are strong and the company is friendly! It feels like you are walking into someone's house and everyone knows each other - pretty soon you will too! read more

Good pub food and they make a great white peach sangria. Fridays is a great day to go for their seafood specials. We enjoy the local establishment and seeing all the familiar faces from the town. Service is always amazing read more

Awesome place. My friend and I were walking around Westborough looking for someplace to eat. We stumbled upon Central House. When we walked in, we were the only women. We were greeted by the bartender who was great. He didn't blink an eye when we ordered sparkling waters, 3 appetizers, and two salads. The food was Great. The service was perfect. We spent a very nice hour or so enjoying the ambience and food. If I ever come back to Westborough, I'll make it a point to return here. read more

If didn't know Central House was there, you wouldn't find it. The sign is small and unassuming and the entrace(s) is(are) a little obscure. It's literally an apartment in a multifamily home, where the living room and maybe a bedroom have been combined to form the bar area. If you look into the kitchen, you can see rows and rows and rows of giant cans of I don't know what and I'm pretty sure I don't care. You're not coming here for the local farm-fresh foods, you're coming here for a beer or three, a game on TV, some good company and maybe something fried or grilled to eat. I've never had the food, so I can't judge on that. But the beer is cold and well priced, the service is friendly and prompt, and the clientele range from old boys who will chat you up to goth cheerleaders (I swear to GOD this happened). If you're having dinner in downtown Westborough, I can't think of a better place to pop in for an after dinner drink. I just really wish they'd put a fire in that big 'ole gorgeous fireplace. (PS. Most of the decor is by Budweiser.) read more

We were there on a Friday night with a large-ish party (12) though we were happy to be split over two tables. There was a fairly long wait but we finally got two tables outside. The cons: Service was friendly but very slow and sloppy. Took about a half an hour to just get beers and sodas. We had to request napkins, cutlery, etc. And the kitchen was out of many things (we arrived around 7pm, but weren't seated until after 7:30) - they were out of fish and chips, out of lobster rolls, and out of chicken salad! The pros: The food, when it came, was quite good. Fried clam roll was delicious! Onion rings were excellent. Craft beer selection was small but well curated, with some fine local brews. read more

I am on the road a lot for work. I needed a quick lunch. I yelped and found this place. 7 sandwich options. The first 2 I ordered arent available. The bartender/waiter had his mask over his mouth, not his nose. Fail. I was there less than 30 minutes and he took it down to his neck EVERY time he talked, almost constantly. I was going to leave but my sandwich arrived. It was pretty good, but I couldn't enjoy as I was bothered by the lack of mask compliance. Sigh. read more

Creative menu in an area where there aren't too many restaurants. Chef's specials contain seasonal, local ingredients. Great cocktails, too.

It's a local haunt with all of the local characters and character you would expect... Floody's team pours great drink and the food is great, esp Fish Chowder, Dry rubbed wings and any special on the board. read more

I really don't want to write this review because it will attract more competitors for the limited table seating on Fridays (Fish Fry Day). I just love their fish and chips, although I usually cannot finish the fries. This crispy meal is best ordered and eaten when seated inside. When I have picked it up for takeout, the fried food is soggy by the time I fight the 5 pm traffic in downtown Westborough on Friday afternoons. (I used to be able to do an end run using Fruit Street, but bridge repair has closed this route for at least the next 6 months.) The owner is very friendly and personable, even though we probably hurt his bottom line by being teetotalers eating in a bar. No matter; my lapsed-Catholic hubby and I have a standing Friday afternoon date to eat here! read more

Always a good time. Food is good and priced fairly, beer and liquor selection is decent. Fun vibe

This is more of a pub than a restaurant, but don't let that stop you from giving it a try. Very reasonably priced and yummy bar food. They have frequent specials. Today I tried the pulled pork sandwich and it was very good. The coleslaw was fantastic, obviously homemade. Very friendly neighborhood Pub. I'll be back. read more

Central House - Looks like a house, feels like home. - Pubs Near Me - Westborough, Massachusetts

The spicy chicken sandwich is awesome. Great staff, good food and drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere.

I had always thought of this place as a bar, but stared getting their take-out during quarantine. Their food is really, really good. I have tried the burgers, corned beef dinner (March), and fish and chips. Highly recommend it read more

When building our kitchen we tried every place in town Central House was by far the friendliest place around. New to town , not knowing anyone, everyone was great. Food is better than simple pub food ... best burgers ever and the nightly specials are ALWAYS good Gets busy, service can be slow but worth the wait read more

My friend and I had intended to eat at a place down the street, but it was closed. We where directed to this tavern as a great spot for beer and a burger. We started out with wings and each had a local beer and a burger. Everything was top quality. Mikey the bartender/waiter was friendly and informative. If you are hungry in Westboro this is the place read more

The best chicken sandwich I've ever had ! I went a few months ago and I'm still thinking about it. Very cool atmosphere, stiff drinks and fun bartenders. Looks like they have a couple card leagues that happen there as well. I am looking forward to going back ! read more

The owners of Central House are top notch, and the safety and well-being of their customers and staff are always first priority. The homemade food?? Incredible. I was never a fan of restaurant fish n chips until I had them at CH. Absolutely delicious! read more

Good service. Cold beer. Good bar food. The fried broccoli was very good. Nice little neighborhood place.

I am new to the area, and super excited to make Central House a frequent spot to visit. Came in late on a Sunday, so the menu was pretty limited, but the sandwiches we ordered were awesome. The place was pretty busy with a live band going so it was kind of loud, but to be expected for a small townie bar. My boyfriend and I are excited to come back for seafood on Fridays and brunch on Sunday mornings :) read more

Place is Great - especially on Tuesdays for the baked stuff chicken Hole in the wall kinda place where everyone knows everyone ... Food is excellent read more

This is the Local locale. We use the backroom for informal organizational meetings sometimes. Apart from that I make occasional appearances around holidays, 4th of July, Xmas etc. It's a pretty tight circle, so yeah you may get some looks if you stumble in. I've eaten here and while it wasn't L'Espalier quality, I enjoyed the grub. All-in-all as a Newbie (7years) Yuppie Scum newcomer to town I find this place relaxing. * I've been to far less "friendly" Townie bars. * The games is ALWAYS on here. * Warning don't say anything bad 'bout the Sox, Celts or especially the Bruins in here. * very reasonable prices. read more

Excellent service, great food. Feels like home. Good looking bartenders, who actually can pour a beverage. Who doesn't want all that? One of Westborough's finest read more

Possibly the towniest of townie bars in Westborough, but that's not a bad thing. I've lived and worked in the area for more than two years, but can't consider myself a local since they don't know me by name here. The bar isn't much to look at, basically just the first floor of a converted triple decker and you better like watching the local sports teams. There is food and it seemed like everyone was ordering the fish and chips the night I was there. There aren't many beer options, but they are surprisingly good. And cheap. Two taps of Cold Harbor (made just around the corner) and Clown Shoes Spacecake (a double IPA served in a pint glass for $6). All in all, not a bad place to pop in for a drink if you are in town. read more

Love this local spot! Amazing nachos and when I go on Friday the fish and chips are a must!!!! Good beer selection, they make a great drink and it's an inexpensive option for those times when you want a great local bar! read more

Love this place! I moved to Westborough MA about 3 years ago, and my wife and I love going here. Typical small town bar, it's a "towny" bar! But the regulars are welcoming. The owner is extremely nice, his staff are awesome, and the food......Delicious! It's a small menu, but it's all good! They have specials during the year for the season. Lobster rolls in summer, and hearty soups and stews in the winter. I personally love their pastrami on rye! They have a WiFi jukebox which is fun, several TVs, music (bands) on most fri or sat nights. Good selection of beers and liquors. Local brewery on tap always, Coldharbor! It's not the biggest place so it can get crowded, but it makes feel like a fun place with friends all there hanging together having a good time! Check this place out some night people or for lunch. read more
