My first time here after living in Wesborough for five years! VERY yummy fried clams and french fries.....and a perfect portion of both! However, the tartar sauce and cole slaw need a new recipe, WAAAY too much mayonnaise in both, take out 2/3 of the mayo, add a smidge of salt, fresh ground pepper, and maybe even a teaspoon or two of celery seasoning..... .....great coleslaw should just be "kissed" by the mayo and you still get that great crunch from the cabbage, not so with this, drenched and inedible! ditto for the tartar sauce --- keep out half of the mayo and add that back with relish and YUM!- great job and super friendly people are in charge...thanks Dan! can't wait to try the fish and chips, sadly they ran out - popular! read more

They just recently changed the Sunday buffet to a menu. The breakfAst last Sunday was amazing!!! The home fries also had sweet potatoes in them. Prices are ridiculously low for the portions. You have to try this place. All of the bartenders are so friendly and quick with service. I love this bar! read more

This was our first time visiting this establishment. Food was pretty good and price wasn't bad. A few patrons at the bar had real bad foul mouths along with the bartender at times .They did run out of a few draft beer items and Jameson. Waitress was decent but while serving table next to us took our extra napkins we had asked for and gave them to the other table without asking us. Seems to be a townie place. Overall was good but wouldn't go above that. read more

This place defines "local." The menu specials are written up on a chalkboard in the middle of the dining room. Only a handful of options but all are INCREDIBLE. Great place for fish and chips, clam rolls, scallop rolls. All servers and bartenders are extremely friendly. I've only been there once but I was very very impressed and it seemed as if everyone else in the place were regulars. Very charming little place that keep people coming back on a regular basis. Don't be intimidated if it looks closed from the outside. Walk right on up and seat yourself! read more

Good grief. This place is awful. We have stopped in every few years to see if there's been any improvement. Unfortunately, the answer is no.

A DEFINITE YES! by Nancy Drawe (1 review) April 01, 2011 I've heard a lot of good things about the fish and chips at the Central House, so wanted to try it out. My father is actually the one who first heard about it, so I brought him and my mother. Well, I have to say that everyone had the right idea, because it was the best fish and chips we ever had. My mother had the fried clams and LOVED them. We first started off with the fish chowder--to die for! Then came the fish and chips. The piece of fish was HUGE--and oh, so good! Nice light batter and the fish was nice and moist and very tasty. The fries were golden and crispy..delicious! Cole slaw was good, too! You can't beat the price, either! We will definitely be going back over and over again. The next time, as good as the fish chowder is, I'm going to have to skip it because I was so full after eating that and trying to finish my fish and fries. Had to send some home with my mother, who was also taking home some of her clams because there were so many on her plate--which is highly unusual in other restaurants! Our server was so friendly, made us feel at home for being first timers! All in all, I give this ten stars! read more

Definitely the hidden gem of Westborough! Love the beer selection, the food is consistently really good, and the staff is pleasant!

A bunch of friends & I were there tonight, as we usually are on Friday nights. We were enjoying our night with delicious drinks when we were informed we had to leave because another group was coming in. When we politely asked where we could sit if they needed the table, a new waitress rudely snapped and told us that she had previously talked to us about how we can't sit for five hours and drink during dinner hours. When we informed her we had not heard that information she argued that she told us last week while pointing  (even though we have not been there in months) and that we had never been allowed to sit until close there - which we have multiple times. She told us that during dinner we can't just sit and drink.  We are very upset by how we were treated. I have been a waitress for many years and I would never treat a customer how we were treated tonight. We hope that maybe we will come back but as of right now we are feeling like our business if not appreciated. Highly recommended BEFORE tonight :( read more

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Central House with friends for dinner. Definitely has that local pub feel but welcoming all the same.. The Friday's seafood menu is fantastic! I started with the fish chowder and then had the Fish & Chips; both were incredible. I was also very impressed with the wine selection & the wine of the month special which was a very nice Cabernet. What really makes this place is the incredible service and inviting atmosphere! We are looking forward to trying their Sunday brunch soon! read more

Cocky, owner, advertise fully loaded Bloody Marys, the Bloody Mary was good but not strong enough, nor was it even close to being loaded with anything but a bunch of aroogance. Good cheap pub food. This place is definitely a townie hangout, but it's really only the bar where you'll get stares if you're not a regular. If you go into the dining room the staff and patrons are friendly, and the food is basic but good and cheap. My husband likes the fish and chips and I often get a chicken sandwich (about $6.25) or a burger with fries ($5-7 depending on toppings). They also have a steak meal for about $10-11 which my sister had and said it was very good. The menu is kind of limited and not fancy but we've never had a bad meal there. read more

This place is awesome. I was just there last night for Taco Tuesday (3 for $5). They have rotating draft beers that are always awesome. Whether it's Maine Beer Co. Lunch or Dinner (both stellar beers) or Mayflower Evoluption DIPA. They ever have the local brewery from town, Cold Harbor Brewing Co. on tap. Always got something in the smoker. Had some amazing smoked brisket the other day and some Smoked half chickens that were fork tender delicious. The owner Dan is the man. He's the bald guy with a huge beard and glasses that's always there. read more

Make sure you stop by on Fridays. The clams are fresh as is the awesome fish (haddock) and chips. The fries are frozen but done just right. Crispy on the outside and lovely on the inside. This place has atmosphere to spare and informally bills itself as the Husband Day Care Center. Don't be put off by it ladies. Everyone feels welcomed even tourists like us. read more
