Came for a later dinner this time around. We split the arancini (it's supposed to be 3, but we got 6, I'm assuming they made smaller ones for us as we were sharing). The arancini was awesome. Perfectly crisp & ooey gooey cheesy. The sauce was fantastic. The real star was the short rib & truffle pizza. Cannot put in words how damn good it was. We have had the short rib before with brunch, so knew what to expect but this surpassed it. We had the same waitress as the last visit, Bonnie. She was pleasant and attentive just as before. We were in the area and decided to stop by for some lunch. The initial draw was the ambience, as I'm a sucker for a nice atmosphere. This place delivers. It's very modern, but also cozy and old-timely at the same time. We sat next to the fireplace, and had a view of the train tracks (hoping to see a train pass by but that's ok). Service was friendly and welcoming. My only disappointment was that they only had a limited brunch menu available when I visited. Our first visit to West Street Tavern started off very well. My husband and I sat at the bar while waiting for our daughter to arrive. The bartenders were very friendly, and we enjoyed the atmosphere and a beer while we waited. When our daughter arrived later than expected, she was greeted warmly and attended to promptly. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. After our daughter arrived, no one came back to take our order for quite some time. We finally got the attention of one of the bartenders, who took our order for two pizzas. We also made sure to mention that we have a fish allergy. After that, we waited a very long time while other customers who arrived after us received their food , including pizzas  , and left before we were served. We eventually asked again about our order, and the bartender checked on it, telling us it would be out shortly. She later explained that the delay was related to the fish allergy precautions, which we appreciate, but the communication throughout the wait was poor. Our food finally arrived after what seemed like hours  with no apology for the delay. After eating a few slices, we asked for pizza boxes to take the rest home, only to be told they were out of pizza boxes and were given small brown takeout containers instead. While packing up the pizza, we also noticed the kitchen order slip underneath the pizza on the pan. It was disappointing that there was no apology, acknowledgment of the excessive wait, or any attempt to make up for the experience. In total, my husband and I spent nearly three hours there. The friendly bartenders and atmosphere made a good first impression, but unfortunately the overall dining experience fell far short of expectations. read more

Came here last night and it was busy. Bar got full very quickly , service was fast and very friendly. Lots of regulars here which is nice to see. Cool ambience and it's where they filmed a scene in Knives Out so that was an added bonus for me. Good local beer selection on draft , they even had one of my favorites Maine Lunch ! Bacon Smash burger was amazing. Would come back. Parking is a bit of a pain as they have a small lot so be prepared for that when coming by. West Street Tavern just opened in Berlin, in the former The Flat Penny Bar & Grill (Rail Stop) building next to the Randall Rd RR crossing intersection. There used to be a West Street Tavern & Restaurant in Newton, which is no longer in operation (now The Dooliner Irish Pub) and not connected to this West Street Tavern. This neighborhood restaurant & bar offers a relaxed vibe in a cozy homey & modern atmosphere with a fireplace and flatscreenTVs above the bar. They offer a full service bar with seating, high top tables, and a few booths and regular tables. I stopped by West Street Tavern in Berlin for dinner recently. I took a seat up at the bar and the bartender handed me photocopy menus to look over and got an ice water. The bar offers 12 beers on taps, bottle/can beers, wine list and cocktails. The food menu offerings include appetizers, wings, salads, clam chowder, burger & sandwich plates, pasta, steak tips, seafood, 16" hand tossed pizzas, kids menu, and housemade desserts. The prices are moderate and fair. For Yelp purposes, I ordered two entrees. I ordered the Tavern Smash Burger ($16 plus tax) and The Eggplant Parm ($21 plus tax). Both entrees came out together in about 15 minutes after ordering, good portion sizes. The Tavern Smash Burger had (2) 3oz grilled beef patties, American cheese, grilled onions, & tavern house sauce on a brioche bun, served with crispy golden fries and a pickled cucumber salad with cucumber slices, red onions, & carrot. The Eggplant Parm was comprised of five crispy breaded eggplant patties topped with red sauce & melted mozzarella cheese with al dente cooked fettuccine noodles (my choice) in a red sauce topped with grated cheese. Both entrees were very good and I finished the Tavern Smash Burger plate and some of the Parm dish, which I got a togo box. I passed on dessert and got the check with Toast QR code which was $39.59 with tax and before tip. The service was courteous and there was no rush as I enjoyed my meal and watched football highlights on the TV and listened to Bob Marley over the speakers. read more

We happened upon West Street Tavern on one of our many antique/thrifting adventures. It had good reviews, so we thought we would stop in. The atmosphere is very welcoming in a small, cozy tavern with a beautiful mantle and fireplace that was nicely decorated. Our server (I didn't get his name) was very prompt and courteous and seated us right away. We had the usual Diet Cokes and I had their Turkey Club...loaded with Turkey, Bacon, Lettuce, Tomatoes and Mayo on Grilled Sourdough with Sweet Potato Fries and my husband had their Smashburger on a GF Bun with regular fries. A fresh, crisp cucumber salad comes with all sandwiches...it's like fresh pickles! All in all their food is delicious (we have been there twice in the past few months even though we live about 30 miles away)! read more

This small old train station turned restaurant was a great little find. What it lacks in size, it makes up for in taste and friendliness. A good size horseshoe shaped bar with several tables and booths around the outside. They had numerous daily specials as well as the usual. The mozzarella sticks were made in-house and delicious as were the chicken wings. I then went with a hot honey chicken sandwich. A perfectly grilled chicken with big pieces of bacon, cheese and lettuce. The fries seemed like they were also homemade, crispy outside and soft inside. My girlfriend and I stopped into the West Street Tavern today for lunch and got the Tavern Pretzels and Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich. Both were unbelievable and the chicken was so juicy and crispy, cooked to perfection. We also got some drinks, the Pineapple Infused Vodka, Espressi Martini, and a Coconut Maragarita. Have been there a couple of times since they opened. Only criticism is that wait staff is a little uneven, but that will correct itself with time. Their food is great. Excellent, large appetizers...both the bone-in and boneless wings. Korean fried broccoli was really tasty. They have a lot of pizza options. I really liked hot sausage, which has a real kick.
