We have enjoyed Chef Bill Brady's creative vegetarian masterpieces for years. Definitely high gourmet cuisine in great environs. Sometimes we call ahead to reserve for a 3 or 4 -course fixed menu which he customizes for us. Even on their normal menu, they have fantastic vegetarian and vegan selections. Oh Bradys's, what has happened to you? So, we went there last night (party of 4) to celebrate my sister's birthday. I want to say our waitress was wonderful and attentive. My review is no reflection on the atmosphere or waitstaff... strictly the food. Our appetizers were pretty good... calamari and escargot... nothing special, but, acceptable. After that.. things went way downhill. Two of us, ordered the veal parm. It was served on a piping hot plate, however, I can assure you, this was not made to order. The veal cutlet was clearly cooked hours before as it was barely lukewarm warm in Temperature and the breading was not one bit, crispy. It was soggy. Not made to order! It was served over a bed of "angel hair." The angel hair was cut up in multiple small pieces... the way you would serve it to a baby experiencing pasta for the first time. I asked our waitress "why is the pasta all cut up like this?" She responded: "I don't know." Not only was it cut up into pieces...(who does that? ) it was also soggy and way overcooked. The meal was a huge disappointment. My other dining companion ordered the fried pork chop which was a special. It wasn't too bad... he reported it was tender... it came with mash and a side of corn that looked like it came straight out of a can of Delmonte. No frills there. It was clearly canned corn. My sister got the cavatappi pasta that came with shrimp ; cannellini beans and a veg mixed in and it was swimming in a sub-par sauce that was lacking in any seasoning. All the entrees lacked basic seasoning. I want to go to a restaurant where my dish is made to order. Hot and crispy cutlets; Al Dente pasta; corn that's not poured out of a tin can and entrees that are served hot! This place has gone way downhill. I was there several years ago my experience was very different. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant and it certainly wasn't worth the $300 dollars (including tip) that we paid. Entrees were 30 + dollars each! What a joke to be charging those prices for the sub-standard food we were served. We will never go back. My husband and I just celebrated our 39th anniversary at Bradys. The Chicken Parmesan was phenomenal....the best I have ever had. Our server was a sweetheart, great service and so personable. We recently visited Brady's and had a mixed but overall enjoyable experience. For appetizers I ordered the crab Rangoon which personally wasn't my favorite as it tasted more like salt water than anything else. However my husband's octopus dish was a hit even with my son who tried octopus for the first time and loved it. For entrees I had the salmon. It was seasoned well and cooked nicely but I didn't care for the sides it came with. My daughter didn't enjoy her kids' pasta though I thought the taste was actually pretty good. My son got the chicken tenders and was very happy with them. The restaurant is small and parking is limited but it has a great sized bar and a hidden door feature that was a fun surprise. Service was awesome, friendly and attentive. We arrived without a reservation and were seated right away. We were told that they had a reservation coming up and we'd need to be finished within two hours which wasn't a problem at all. Overall a cozy spot with great service and some standout dishes. Usually our most favorite restaurant disappointed us today. They have hired a server named Xzacheon, obviously new. We went for lunch and stood there at the entrance over 15 min before he even greeted us. Finally , we sat down "wherever" . So we ordered drinks, and Xzacheon informs us that Bradys doesn't make the drinks that we ordered, (drinks that we have had there many times for the several months that we go to Bradys for lunch) Eventually Xzacheon brings the 2 drinks , one napkin. Surprise someone made the drinks that we originally ordered , that he says they definitely don't have! On positive note, the drinks were made correctly. Then we wait and wait and wait and wait until Xzacheon takes our order. He brings the soup. The sweet potato bisque was not good at all, it had melted marshmallows and bacon mixed into a sweet potato soup. ( I prefer the amazing pumpkin bisque soup that they served in December) . No silverware on the table. Finally he brings napkins and silverware. The veal parmesan , was not made today, nor was it made to order, it was dry, and lukewarm , served over angel hair pasta that was overcooked. Sunday sauce was excellent. In the meantime, numerous people at the door left because the server just didn't greet them. While wating, 2 men came in and waited and waited to be seated finally searching for anyone in the next room.. At the end of our meal he brought the take out boxes and the check. A Hidden Gem in Leominster! We stopped by Brady's Restaurant at 37 Mechanic Street in Leominster, MA -- and I'm so glad we did! When we walked in, we were directed to the back room and invited to sit wherever we felt most comfortable. The space was absolutely adorable! I loved the cozy vibe, the plants, and the soft, ambient lighting -- such a relaxing atmosphere. The lunch menu was fantastic, offering a great variety of tempting choices. I went with the chicken gnocchi with spinach in a savory gravy sauce, and it was absolutely delicious. My daughter had the caramelized pear salad, which looked as good as it tasted -- fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. While we waited, we started with an appetizer of the jumbo bone-in chicken wings -- YUM! Perfectly cooked and so flavorful. The entire restaurant was spotless -- very clean and well-kept. You can make reservations online or by phone, but we just walked in for lunch and had no problem being seated. A special shoutout to Ashley, the bartender, who also took our lunch order. She was so pleasant and welcoming -- a total gem! And wow... can she make a drink! We had her espresso martinis, which were perfectly crafted and hit the spot. Catching up on reviews - we went right after Christmas with a full table of 8!! Sadly I did not take pictures of our dinner as I was engaged in excellent chatting with great friends. It had been years since I had seen everyone so food was just an added plus! Our waitress Haley was excellent- I cannot recommend her more of course since it's her family restaurant. Went here for a celebratory dinner. The atmosphere is nice, I enjoyed the mix of brick and exposed wood beams and pillars, it has a very welcoming feel. We ordered the eggplant fries, escargot, the dry-aged NY Strip, Cioppino, and Swordfish Francaise. The eggplant fries were crispy and flavorful, we enjoyed them. The NY Strip was cooked perfectly and was delicious, the asparagus was cooked well and still had a crisp to it, the potatoes were overly peppered, but ok. The escargot were just ok for me, not much flavor, and the crostini were strangely inedible, having almost a chewy texture. My family members liked their seafood entrees, however I did not try them. Came tonight for dinner, reservations are highly recommended as this place does get very busy. The server Rebecca was great, attentive, thoughtful, and thorough without being at the table too much. The bread and butter were warm, fresh and delicious. I had a side Caesar and the Blueberry BBQ pork chop, both awesome. Caesar was cold, crisp, and not over-dressed. The dressing had the perfect touch of anchovy, absolutely perfect. The pork chop dish was great, I subbed mashed potatoes instead of the grits and they were so decadent. The BBQ sauce was a perfect savory blend of Dijon, blueberry, and Worcestershire. The porterhouse pork chop was the real star of the dish here, and that was thanks to the perfect preparation by the chef. Overall this was a great meal, but no great meal at Brady's can be enjoyed without a Sticky Toffee Pudding. This dessert is easily the best thing on the menu. Started off w beef satay, pumpkin bisque, clam chowder, French onion soup and New England Apple Salad. The beef satay tasted so good moist n w a tasty sauce and generous portions. The soups weird good too n the so wax the salad. Fancy presentation and was more than enough for two. For entrees we ordered the Korean seafood stew, lobster risotto, cavatelli w broccoli, spinach n sausage and the 8 oz center cut filet w Bern side sauce. The stew was delicious. Generous amounts of seafood. And so was risotto w generous amounts of lobster. The cavatelli was good too n so wax the steak. We finished off meal w sticky toffee pudding w ice cream , creme brulee n brown butter cake. The sticky toffee pudding was out of this world. Went their this past Saturday night and had dinned at the bar in the main dining room. We had several issues with the meal and can not recommend. First one of the bartenders repeatedly used the drink serving glass to scoop ice into the glass directly from the ice bin rather then use the ice scoop. Have fun drinking glass shards Secondly my steak which was cooked properly was barely warm as it must of sat waiting for the fries that go with that dist as they were right out of the fryer. Same story with a salad with added grilled chicken which was also only warm when served. Lastly we ordered one regular and one decaf coffees at the end of the meal and while mine was fine the decaf was sent back for again only being warm and tasting like soap to only get a cup full of burnt coffee and full or grounds. Easily one of my best dining experiences of the last 2 years. So why only 4 stars? I'm comparing you to "best in class" and I don't grade "on a curve" for the suburbs. We arrived at our reserved time and were led to a table for 2 in a corner of the dining room. Think brick, exposed beams, dark wood tones, bronze fixtures, medium-low lighting. Decent spacing between the tables, no TV visible at the bar - nice! Good thing we made reservations because it soon filled up. Even when it did it never did get uncomfortably noisy. Our waitperson was available when needed, helpful, and remembered to tell us about all the specials, even if he did have to read off his notes! Service at all stages was great. As was the overall pacing. We stayed about 90 minutes which seemed about right. We both ordered Manhattans to drink. Inexplicably they were not served in a martini glass but in what I believe was a "cordial glass". Totally inappropriate. DW asked and the waitperson said it would look too small in a martini glass. But she's traditional when it comes to her drinks so she requested a different glass. A very attractive martini glass was brought over, she swapped the contents, and it did NOT look too small; it was just right. And somehow she claimed it tasted better that way. I can believe that: I didn't change glasses and mine tasted only of bourbon; too strong and one-dimensional. What were they thinking to mess with a classic?! We shared an appetizer of eggplant fries: batter-fried eggplant cut like french fries, served with house-made catsup. I appreciate that it was house-made and not from a bottle, but that was really the wrong condiment for eggplant: too strong. Something like aioli or maybe a sweet&sour would work better. I liked the fries part. DW thought they were bland and overcooked but I just thought they needed a bit of salt. My entree: Pan-seared salmon with salt cod bisque, potato rosti, pork belly lardons, roasted brussels sprouts. A great combination. The "bisque" was more like a thick pureed sauce under the salmon rather than an actual soup. The salt-cod flavor was subtle but noticeable and balanced. The lardons were an excellent complement to the salmon and a better choice than bacon because the pork belly doesn't have the smokiness that would compete with the salmon. Oh, and the potato cake - wow. Not your grandma's latke is all I can say! All in all an attractive, tasty, imaginative dish, a correct-sized portion that I finished with no leftovers, but satisfied and not overstuffed. My only complaints - and they're minor - are that the skin, meant to be eaten, was not quite crispy enough to make it compelling. And it was cooked just ever so slightly over medium. Both minor; it was a great dish all told. DW got Sirloin Steak. Unusual for her and something she tends to do only when nothing else appeals. So I asked and she admitted it; nothing else really caught her eye. (Funny because looking again just now I see 3 more I just have to try next time.) But if you're getting a steak, this is the place to get it. Great flavor, thickly cut and expertly grilled to requested doneness, served with your choice of sauce (she got the wine reduction), garlic mash potatoes and asparagus. For some reason the potatoes are served in a separate bowl, which we regarded more an amusing quirk than a negative. 12 oz: more than enough leftovers for a sandwich next day. The glass-fronted meat cooler prominently displayed in the front shows how seriously they take their steaks, aged in-house. I dislike over-sweet, sticky desserts, especially when warmed. But I'm glad I got this. It was not oversweet, not sticky, and not warmed. Fruitcake done right? We were severely disappointed. However, service was excellent. I ordered the 40 clove chicken and sent it back. It was so bad I didn't want another made. The mashed potatoes were wicked salty and I wouldn't be surprised if instant mashed potatoes were being served. The chicken was a disgrace - dry and tough. I'm not a great cook but I make a better chicken dinner at home. For $28 this entrée was a joke. My husband got the porchetta tomahawk which was also awful. He also got salty mashed potatoes but not as bad as mine. He kept eating the pork and saying after each bite how he was astonished that there was absolutely no flavor to it. His plate was also scattered with wilted lettuce as a garnish which we were both confused about. She ordered the 40 clove chicken, and I ordered the porchetta tomahawk. The food came out, and we both had weird looks on our faces, as it wasn't what we expected. My porcheta was placed on a plate with wilted lettuce underneath. She first tried the mashed potatoes, and gagged because of how salty they were. So I tried mine, and again, extremely salty. Honestly freeze dried instant potatoes were less salty. Then her chicken was extremely dry. How on earth do you dry out, a chicken quarter?! Her entire plate other than the carrots were inedible. My porchetta was flavorless, and the potatoes were also inedible. The waiter was very attentative and immediately comped the chicken dish, and offered free desserts. She had the chocolate cake, which was ok, and I had the crembrule, which was also just ok. All in all, it was $74 dollars (that's with her entree off the bill), that I wish we spent elsewhere. read more

At the beginning of January I was searching for a venue for my daughter in-law's baby shower. I completed the online function form on three separate occasions. When I did not hear back, I called and spoke to a polite young man who indicated the function coordinator named Hailey would be in that day and I would receive a call from her. It is now a month later and I still haven't received an email or returned call. When spending over $5,000 for a shower, or any amount for that matter, I would expect professionalism and courtesy. Brady's displayed neither. I'm thankful to have found a beautiful venue in Shrewsbury. They are eager and willing to help me coordinate a memorable event. I was hoping to support a local business by choosing Brady's but they obviously have little regard for their customers. It's a disgraceful way to run a business. Blown away by this local find while at a lacrosse tournament. I have to give a huge shoutout to our awesome waitress, Julie D. Just loved her energy and great service. The wine by the glass was actually good even giving me a choice of 6 or 9 Oz portion. How awesome is that!!! The RI Calamari was perfectly seasoned and the stuffed filet mignon melted in my son's mouth. Definitely worth trying!!! read more
