The arancini was awesome. Perfectly crisp & ooey gooey cheesy. The sauce was fantastic. The real star was the short rib & truffle pizza. Cannot put in words how damn good it was. We have had the short rib before with brunch, so knew what to expect but this surpassed it. We had the same waitress as the last visit, Bonnie. She was pleasant and attentive just as before. Next time will probably be the time to try the picanha! We shall see. :)

The bartenders were very friendly, and we enjoyed the atmosphere and a beer while we waited. When our daughter arrived later than expected, she was greeted warmly and attended to promptly. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. After our daughter arrived, no one came back to take our order for quite some time. We finally got the attention of one of the bartenders, who took our order for two pizzas. We also made sure to mention that we have a fish allergy. After that, we waited a very long time while other customers who arrived after us received their food , including pizzas  , and left before we were served. We eventually asked again about our order, and the bartender checked on it, telling us it would be out shortly. She later explained that the delay was related to the fish allergy precautions, which we appreciate, but the communication throughout the wait was poor. Our food finally arrived after what seemed like hours  with no apology for the delay. After eating a few slices, we asked for pizza boxes to take the rest home, only to be told they were out of pizza boxes and were given small brown takeout containers instead. While packing up the pizza, we also noticed the kitchen order slip underneath the pizza on the pan. It was disappointing that there was no apology, acknowledgment of the excessive wait, or any attempt to make up for the experience. In total, my husband and I spent nearly three hours there. The friendly bartenders and atmosphere made a good first impression, but unfortunately the overall dining experience fell far short of expectations.

The…read morerestaurant had been on my list for quite some time, as I had heard consistently positive things, and the reviews seemed to support that reputation. In the grand scheme of things, a disappointing restaurant experience isn't the end of the world. That said, as a consumer, I do expect the quality of both food and service to be commensurate with the prices charged. I also understand that restaurants can be overwhelmed on holidays--but I firmly believe that management has a responsibility to accept only as many reservations as the staff and kitchen can reasonably handle. Upon arrival, the location felt a bit unusual, as the restaurant sits on the first floor of what appears to be a senior condo building. Not a negative, just an observation. Parking was easy, and once inside, I genuinely liked the vibe. The space is upscale, well-designed, cozy, and comfortable. It's a large restaurant broken into several rooms, each with half-round booths and its own bar with plenty of seating. Atmospherically, Anna's Table does a lot right. Our reservation was for 6:30 p.m., but we weren't seated until around 7:15. Given that it was New Year's Eve, this wasn't a deal breaker. It then took some time for our server to arrive. When she did, she brought bottles of still and sparkling water that had been filtered and bottled in-house. The water was excellent and a very nice touch. The restaurant was offering a special holiday menu with a good range of options--meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes--with most entrées priced around $30. We ordered cocktails, which took quite a while to arrive. The server mentioned that the bar was extremely backed up. Unfortunately, when my drink did arrive, it was incorrect. The server apologized and took it back, but instead of waiting at the bar to have it remade and promptly delivered, I waited an additional 20 minutes for the correct drink. (All I wanted was a Tioto's vodka martini with no vermouth, which was clearly communicated and confirmed with the server when I ordered it. It arrived dirty with vermouth....) We placed our appetizer and entrée orders. One appetizer was a cup of chowder. After roughly 40 minutes, the appetizers arrived--except the chowder. We were informed that they had run out. While it seemed odd to run out so early in the evening, the bigger issue was that we were not informed ahead of time or offered a substitute before the other appetizers were delivered. That should have been handled proactively. The appetizers themselves were good overall--salads, tuna sashimi, etc.--though the tuna should have been served chilled rather than warm. For entrées, we ordered chicken parm, steak tips, and a pork chop. They arrived about an hour after we finished our appetizers, which felt excessive. Once again, we were told the kitchen was backed up. The chicken parm was disappointing: the chicken was chewy, and the pasta was dry, as if it had been plated and left under a heat lamp too long. The steak tips were acceptable, and my pork chop was fine in flavor, but it arrived about ten minutes after the rest of the table had been served. The explanation was that the chef was waiting for the chop to come to temperature. Unfortunately, this resulted in an awkward dining experience for our group--and the chop itself ended up overcooked and tough. In the end, our experience was poor at best. While Anna's Table certainly looks like a place well-suited for a special occasion, we all left disappointed after spending roughly $200 per couple and more than three hours at the restaurant. I did share my concerns with a (suited) gentleman who appeared to be the manager, as he was greeting tables later in the evening while we were walking out. It would have been far more reassuring to see management actively present earlier--monitoring service flow, kitchen timing, and guest satisfaction--rather than only as the night was winding down. Ultimately, restaurant leadership failed in managing capacity. It was evident not only from our experience but also from conversations around us. One nearby couple joked that they were wondering if they should ask for a breakfast menu given the wait times. While Anna's Table is aesthetically appealing, there is significant work to be done to deliver an experience that justifies its pricing.

Bring it, a fluffy and creamy filling, lovely chilled and sweetened strawberries on top and a perfect amount of cream if you dare to take that extra step. The ambiance and service were stellar. The staff held a pleasant amount of pride in the place and product. Much to our surprise we had to review the bill twice because we both thought they forgot something. And we had 2x drinks each!! The entire experience was well worth the short 3ish miles from RT2. 5 STAR INDEED!!!

Clinton is absolutely drowning in places to get a decent sub--sorry, a decent grinder--so honestly,…read moreyou'd have to go out of your way to find something that sucks. Mr. Z's Pizza doesn't just avoid sucking; it clears the bar with room to spare. Yes, it's a pizza place first, but today we're talking sandwiches and pasta, because this shop handles both like they've got something to prove. I went with a pastrami grinder: onions, toasted, mustard, Swiss. This thing came out packed. Flavor on point, execution flawless. The bread had that perfect New England balance--crusty enough to give you a little resistance, not so crusty that you feel like you're gnawing through drywall. They offer two bread options: house-made or frozen/reheated. I went with the latter because the house-made sizes are basically "medium-ish" and "food challenge." The large one could feed two people comfortably, three if they're lightweights. I wanted a clean 8‑inch sub, so premade it was. My wife ordered the ziti and meatballs, and you need to understand something: Mr. Z's is known for its baked pasta. There's a layer of cheese on top thick enough to make all of France weep into its fancy little coffees. Underneath that molten blanket is perfectly cooked ziti and genuinely delicious homemade meatballs. It's the kind of dish that hits you right in the comfort-food cortex. I also know from experience that their Italian sub is dialed in, and the pizza? Fantastic. New England pizza parlors occupy a sacred space that chains simply cannot touch, and Mr. Z's fits right into that tradition. This is the kind of shop where you come for the food and stay for the food because everything they make is just... good. Between Mr. Z's and P&S, Clinton honestly doesn't need another pizza joint or sub shop. And I haven't even gotten to TC Landau's yet.

Please read, I know this is a long review, but it is worth reading. I do not want anyone else to…read moreget sick or have a similar experience. If I could leave zero stars, I would. For the first time, we ordered from Mr. Z's Pizzeria on 267 High Street in Clinton after discovering our usual restaurant, Primo's, was closed that Sunday. We ordered two large cheese pizzas for $32, which felt expensive given the quality received. When we got home, the pizza was extremely salty and also excessively greasy well beyond what would be considered normal for a properly prepared pizza. It was difficult to eat, and some family members were unable to finish it due to health-related concerns. The slices were also unevenly cut and appeared poorly prepared, which added to the overall impression of low quality. When I called to address the issue, the same young lady who originally took my order answered the phone. She was polite, professional, and offered to check whether a refund, credit, or resolution could be provided. She then transferred me to the manager, who I believe is named Rob. I calmly and respectfully explained the situation. However, during the call he immediately placed me on hold and then disconnected the call, which required me to call back. On the second call, I again attempted to explain the issue and request a refund for one of the two pizzas, as the second box was completely untouched due to the quality concerns. My intention was to obtain a refund so I could order food elsewhere for the children, as they were unable to eat the pizza. The manager remained dismissive and repeatedly stated that the issue was simply that we "didn't like the pizza." He also stated that even the owner would have the same response and declined to offer any refund or alternative resolution. He further stated that he had been working there for 15 years, which came across as justifying his approach rather than addressing the concern at hand. He indicated he was too busy to continue the conversation, despite the restaurant being empty when I later visited in person. When I returned to the restaurant, I brought the second untouched pizza box with me to clearly demonstrate that we were not attempting to obtain anything free, but rather seeking a fair resolution due to the quality concerns. I also left the pizza at the establishment, as it was not suitable for consumption due to how excessively salty, greasy, and outside normal expectations it was. At that point, the situation escalated further. The manager repeated that we "simply did not like the pizza," refused to acknowledge the issue, and stated he would not change his recipe for me. He also indicated he was calling the police and appeared to be on the phone with them; however, no officers ever arrived. Overall, the interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional, with no effort made to address or resolve a legitimate customer concern. The young lady who assisted both in person and on the phone as I mentioned was kind and professional, which stood in contrast to the manager's behavior After looking on Yelp, I saw the ratings are not good, and I would have never ordered from here if I had known. I highly recommend others do their research before ordering. Don't waste your money or risk your health. In the end, this was not about the money it was about how we were treated as customers and the complete lack of respect and professionalism shown when we simply tried to voice a legitimate concern. Customers have rights, and basic respect should always be part of any business experience. The Manager Rob its extremely rude he doesn't care about the customer he is a total Jerk.

It made me feel normal being able to choose something from a full menu instead of trying to figure which of the 3 GF options I would wind up with. I appreciated that they had a designated server to deliver my gluten free dish to avoid any cross contamination. I would recommend this as a restaurant for those who are gluten sensitive to visit. I chose the Hot Honey Chicken which was a pickle brined, breaded, cajun seasoned fried chicken sandwich with a side of fries. The chicken was really big extending past the bun both ways showing a crispy fried exterior with a small puddle of the hot honey puddling on the plate. The first bite proved it wasn't false advertising, it was tender and juicy inside with a nice flavor of spice with a pleasing crunch from the breaded coating. I couldn't put the sandwich down, mostly because I didn't want to put my sandwich back in the puddle of honey which would have made my bun soggy but also because that chicken breast poking out at me was begging for another bite. My Boo noticed I was really into the sandwich because he said it was unusual that I wasn't devouring my fries while they were piping hot (I love hot fries). They were good too but that hot honey chicken - yum! My Boo had, from the regular, not gluten free menu, the clam chowder soup and shrimp poke bowl. He enjoyed them both and they both look very appetizing but I only had eyes for my hot honey chicken. Sorry I didn't take a picture of the food but it came out very pleasing to the eyes. The only thing I thought the restaurant could improve on is the attire of their workers. First impressions matter and though the hostess was pleasant she should have given more attention to her attire and appearance. Also, our waittress didn't offer to refill our water. Other than that we enjoyed it. When we travel back through here, I'm coming again.
