Pretty Good Sandwiches- Expected More…read more I've always enjoyed the bakery items at Giovanni's and was eager to try a deli sandwich. What better way to start at an Italian bakery than an Italian grinder. To start they bake their own bread and coat the inside with a house special basil sauce. Layers of salami, prosciutto and ham were tucked alongside the lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, banana hots and provolone cheese. Sandwich was good, but I wish the bread was more crispy. Nice family owned joint, but if you walk in you think you'll going to have an amazing sub, and the sandwich is just good. Not great. Thanks

The service is outstanding, the place is beautiful, dark wood tables, lovely lighting, just lovely. The food is fabulous. My favorite is the Burrata mozzarella that is served with fruit mostarda, Prosciutto, micro basil, and Evo Balsamic Reduction. It is SO good. Their homemade bread is wonderful as well. I also thoroughly enjoyed their lentil soup, and their Cheeseburger!

Apparently there was a function in the upstairs function room so when we ordered our entrees at 7:55 we had been enjoying our soup and apps for a while, we were seated at 7:15 but we had no idea that the kitchen was busy making dinners for 50 people. Someone should have mentioned that fact because it took an hour for our entrees to be served. When asked what was taking so long the server said that she understood but the kitchen was in the middle of service for the function. Don't get me wrong, this place is outstanding and I'm going to be back but a heads up would have been nice.

Worcester Pizza: A Local Halal Find with Big Flavor!…read more Worcester Pizza is a great place to find pizza, especially because it has a full HALAL menu. The restaurant has a friendly and inviting ambiance, and the staff is dedicated to making sure that customers are happy, which makes the dining experience much better. Worcester Pizza has incredibly flexible service. You can order by phone, at the counter, or have it delivered using services like Grubhub and DoorDash. The crew takes the time to make sure that orders are correct, which sets this pizza place apart from many others that are always busy. I tried the Steak Bomb and changed it by asking for jalapeños instead of green onions and having the bread toasted so I could take it home. The sandwich was tasty and stayed fresh, which made me want to try other things on the menu next time I visit. The family loved the half cheese, half onion pizza the most, though. They ate it up quickly, which showed how good it was. Worcester Pizza has a welcoming atmosphere that is clean and comfortable, making it a great place for families, friends, and couples to eat. It makes for a nice place to eat and talk without too much noise getting in the way.

I'd never really had Syrian food before, and I was blown away by the flavors and portion sizes. I…read moreordered both the whole chicken plate and a muhmmara pie, and I had enough food for probably 3 meals! Keep in mind that if you order the whole chicken plate, you need to place your order at least 45 minutes in advance for them to prepare it, but it's 1000% worth it. Whole Chicken Plate - I think this is actually a Cornish game hen rather than a really small chicken, and it was so perfectly juicy and fresh tasting. Ordering takeout chicken is especially risky of being dry, but this was juicy and cooked to perfection. The spices on the chicken had just the right amount of kick, and the nuts and the rice were seasoned perfectly. I'd eat just the rice without the meat too - it was that good! Side of Mutabal - I had never had this before, but it was so so so so good! It had a sort of creamy texture to it (maybe yogurt?) and it was so rich and satisfying. I'm also a fan of baba ganoush but this takes eggplant to another level - I'm going to have to order this again and again and even look up a recipe to make at home. Absolutely recommend this gem of a side! Muhmmara pie - This was the one dish that was just okay - the pepper paste was good, but I was expecting a different kind of carb wrapping - the photos I'd seen look a bit different - this was more of a pita with the pepper spread on it and folded in half. I'd like to try again to see if it's the same thing as the other pictures on yelp or if perhaps the "pie" part of this was just different this particular day. All in all though, this was a solid 5/5. The whole chicken plate was perfect and I'd get it again with the mutabal any day!

I remembered previously ordering a Chicken Shawarma Plate. That is now in the "Specialties" section of the menu and that's what I ordered expecting to get the same plate of delicious chicken, rice, salad and hummus. I was shocked that this $20 "Specialty" consisted of a dry chicken wrap, french fries, some sort of yogurt dip and AWFUL, salty pickled vegetables. The fries were good but you don't go to a specialty Mediterranean place to get fries with a meal described as a plate. Apparently, you can no longer get a true plate of chicken shawarma with rice here. I do plan to return again some day and try the Kofta Kebab or Mixed Grill Plate from the "Entree" section since these still come with rice but everyone should be avoiding the "Specialties" plates as these are poorly executed and severely overpriced. Regardless of what you are ordering, I would highly recommend calling in your order to confirm exactly what you are going to get with your order since the online menus have no details whatsoever.

great local seafood wholesaler!…read more Living in Fitchburg my entire life, I have been blind to many local offerings that my quaint town provides. It was only a couple of years ago that a coworker of mine was raving about this place and couldn't believe I had never gone. The parking spots in front of the building fill up very quickly. However, if you drive towards the back where the trucks pull in, you can actually drive up the slope for several more spots. I believe there's another adjacent bunch of spots to park on the ground level, but I'm not confident. As soon as you step inside, there are 2 lines you can wait in. Towards the left you can order food from their kitchen and enjoy the typical assortment of fried seafoods that you've probably already familiar with from many other joints. In fact, this place has a sister location called Kay's Dairy Bar in Westminster. Towards the right, you stand in line for the wholesale products. Today I came in the some big ol lobsters. The staff here are all super friendly, as well as all of the customers. I had pleasant conversations with everyone. I was able to get my three 4-pound behemoths steamed here, and you can eat ask for a cup of drawn butter from the restaurant side. Since I was feeling hungry, I grabbed a plate of fried scallops too. Lobsters - I follow their FB page and I was drawn in by a couple of the posts showcasing some behemoths. I was slightly disappointed that they maxed out at about 4-pounds on the day I showed up, but everyone in line said that it was better that way anyway. My lobsters took about 30min to steam and when I got home and cracked them open, the meat was perfection. Fried Scallops - I love love love scallops. This place does it just as well as Kimball's and I think I'm just going to come here from now on to support a local business instead.

A few of our favorite items were: Yaowarat Fried Rice Dinner -- $17.00 Wonton Noodle Soup with Senlek (Thin Rice Noodles) -- $15.00 Gyoza Potstickers, Steamed -- $9.00 Total with tax and tip: $45.87 The Gyoza was excellent, soft, flavorful, and very tasty. The Wonton Noodle Soup was very good, but unfortunately several of the wontons had stuck together and fell apart when separated, which detracted from an otherwise enjoyable dish. The Yaowarat Fried Rice was also not quite up to the standard we've come to expect. It was much drier than usual, and the meat was cut into very small pieces, which was different from the way it has been prepared on our previous visits. We definitely preferred the versions we've enjoyed in the past. Overall, still a good meal from one of our favorite Thai restaurants in the area, but a couple of the dishes missed the mark compared with our previous experiences. Four stars for this visit.
