We came here for dinner recently mostly because of the positive reviews and because I have fond memories of stopping here as a kid to get ice cream. We decided to share a seafood platter and get a side of scallops. The food was very good, fresh and not heavily battered. The owner came over to make sure everything was good. Another positive thing is it's BYOB!! For us it had nothing to do with getting cheaper drinks, but everything to do with bringing what we want to drink. This was my first visit to Pinecroft recently. Solid place to get some fresh fried seafood and ice cream. For ice cream, they have tons of flavors. I had the haddock wrap and it as a bit underwhelming. It was fine--but wish it had more flavor to it. The fries and onion rings were done right. What I really liked about the restaurant is the dine in style that gave the old school diner feel. Towards the back of the dining room, they got a bunch of coloring books with crayons and color pencils for the kiddos. Service was great. Unbelievable ice cream! I came here on a Friday night around 7pm. The ice cream stand was not busy so we did not have to wait to order. They have a decent amount of flavors to choose from. I ordered a small chocolate chip cookie dough and it was SO good! The vanilla was very creamy, and it was packed with delicious cookie dough. The portions are fair. A little pricy but all ice cream stands are pricy these days. There is plenty of parking and places to sit and eat. We sat at a picnic table near our car and enjoyed the live music in the background, which made for a nice ambiance! Would definitely come back again. read more

Pinecroft has one of my favorite lobster rolls for a very reasonable price of $30. Another favorite item on the menu is the fisherman's platter which could easily feed two people. I'd also recommend trying their onion rings. This place is also great for families. Sometimes, the service is a little slow, but the food makes up for it. Thank god it's cheat day. I just ate so much food, and it was so good I want to go throw it up just so I can relive the heavenly pleasure that was eating it again. This food is worthy of being served at my funeral. The chicken fingers are going to appear tonight in my dreams. I'm going to salivate so much that my pillow needs to be washed the following morning. The chicken tenders are just soooo good. The meat on the inside is so perfectly tender so it falls apart and just melts in your mouth, and the fried exterior is a like a fried clam in the way that it's perfectly flaky. We ordered a fisherman's platter, and a large chicken tenders to split between the two of us. Fries, barbecue, teriyaki, and blue cheese as our side and sauce. The food was undeniably incredible. The service was very kind, attentive and caring. I appreciated their level of care for our table. The ambience was straight out of Port Judith Rhode Island. Let's keep it real, I was born and raised in Rhode Island and I appreciate some pretty good seafood, and I don't know how this place ended up all the way out here, but I appreciate its existence. The type and quality of food found here just tells Rhode Island, and the interior design feels light, open, and airy just like being on a beach. My husband and I wanted to go out to eat this past Sunday and also wanted to stay in Holden. Unfortunately, we were too late for Vals or Sandwich Co as both close at 7. We ended up at Pinecroft and we were so glad we did. We haven't been here for dinner for a long time. We figured it would be just diner food but we were so mistaken! My husband got the fried fish sandwich and it was a huge piece of fish on a toasted bun. I went with a BLT on toasted sourdough bread with coleslaw. The sandwich was huge as well but nice amount of bacon and lettuce and tomatoes. The coleslaw was not overly mayonnaise filled and was quite delicious. Last time I ate at Pinecrofts, some random kid I met at the Greek Festival called me to see if I wanted to go get an ice cream. We shared an order of fries and a sundae. That was 1986. We ordered a small clams and a side of slaw to split and each got a burger and fries- well, cheese burger for my husband. The clams were delicious and a good amount. The burgers were good, but not what we imagined. Still we enjoyed them. I wished we had known fries cost extra bc we would have gotten one order. I'm sure we just didn't read the menu clearly. We got dessert-especially bc I remembered the ice cream was so good- he got a shake and I got a tulip sundae. His shake was good, but my sundae was lackluster. The hot fudge tasted like chocolate sauce not fudge- and the ice cream was 'meh...the star was the whipped cream which had great flavor. All and all an okay experience. I came in yesterday with my significant other to order 2 burgers and 2 sundaes for takeout. When i was ordering my burger and listing the toppings i would like, the cashier suddenly interrupted me to ask how I would like my burger cooked then moved onto the next order and stated our food should be ready in 20 minutes (no receipt). 30 minutes later, our burgers came out and the cashier stated she would get our ice creams for us. She went behind the ice cream counter for 30 seconds, then suddenly went to bus a table and continued to take 2 other parties' orders, seemingly forgetting our sundaes. There were two other workers behind the ice cream counter but they were making orders for the window (understandable). I had to ask her again 10 minutes later to check up on when our ice cream would be done and she then began to make them. When we arrived home after spending nearly an hour at Pinecroft, our burgers had zero toppings on them and were overcooked... This place did not live up to the hype. we feel like the food and experience due to our scatterbrained cashier were not worth the $50 we paid as we did not receive our food prepared how we asked. read more

The food was ok but the service was the worse I've ever experienced in ANY restaurant...brief eye contact at the register while waiting but nothing said, waitress doused the table & booth seats & then expected us to immediately sit, no menus given & had to ask for them, water & ice tea took some time, had to ask to give our order after no one came back, took about 40mins to receive the incomplete order, had to ask for silverware, then had to stop someone to ask for more napkins besides the one we received...Not even an apology the entire time by anyone. I'd try it again but if I get the same experience, it'll be the last. If servers want tips...then try acting like they should receive them. Tips aren't an automatic given & neither is my patronage & hard earned $! Even the folks coming to pick up their take out orders we're waiting an insane about of time. read more
