After reading the reviews, and looking forward to some great fried seafood, my daughter and I were so looking forward to trying Pinecroft Dairy. Arrived at 7pm on a Sunday evening, all of the tables were full, definitely a good sign. Daughter and I decided to share the seafood platter for 2, $42 entry, elected to go with onion rings and fries. The tray was brought out by someone I assume was the owner, when we saw the small portion of seafood, daughter and I both thought it was a joke.. supposedly a platter for 2, barely enough for one...honestly, comperable to seafood platters at local restaurants costing half the price. On the plus side, scallops were cooked perfectly, haddock was delicious, clams were nothing special. Loved the onion rings. We tried Pinecroft, were underwhelmed and won't be back. Better seafood options locally which offer far better value for the money. read more

Jeff is a great owner very grounded and family oriented with wonderful wait staff. The food is always tasty and priced reasonably. My Wife, Son, and I have been weekly patrons, for the past three to four years. We've spent over thousands of dollars there over the years. My son is handicapped, and speaks quickly, and loves to tell jokes, Jeff and staff are always willing to hear and tell Jokes back to William my son. You feel like family when you are there. We had a wake up call this Friday night. My wife and son went to grab a booth while things were quiet and many booths were still open. Because I wasn't there they would not seat them. They were thinking she would take up space and not order for a while, knowing in about a 1/2 hour they get tons of customers coming in. She called me and told me what they told her. This was something new they were starting that night. I told her grab a booth and gave her my order and I would be arriving in about ten to fifteen minutes. She was seated and was getting ready to order for her, my son and me and because I wasn't there another waiter came over and told her she had to get up and go sit in the waiting area. The food would have been ordered, not waisting any one's time I was in route and would have arrived in about ten minutes and food would have been still being prepared in the kitchen. My wife was completely embarrassed and felt like she was a bad person and thrown into a corner. I spoke with Jeff when I arrived and he explained to me this is the peak time for customers and they don't want to have to wait for remaining party to get there to take the order. They have run into this issue in the past when people reserve tables, so no one else can use them customers arrive and they don't place their order because they are waiting for the remaining party to arrive. We have never done that to them. My wife sat down, so they were not going to be waiting for the order, since she was placing the order, I would have arrived and no waiting. I explained to Jeff I understand if a table gets taken and a customer sits down and waists time and doesn't order, but she was ordering. He explained to me he didn't know if that was the case or not. We've been patrons for years, we always tipped well and were always grateful for their service. I didn't realize how my wife was treated till after I got home. I would never treat anyone the way she was treated last night. Takes hours, months, or years to get customers and one really bad move to lose them. read more

Not just a place for delicious ice cream. Tried the clam chowder. A large bowl filled with clams and pieces of potato. Excellent! I also had a small serving of fried clams with bellies. Also excellent. Pinecroft has received awards for their fried clams and oysters. I shall return. read more

We came here for dinner recently mostly because of the positive reviews and because I have fond memories of stopping here as a kid to get ice cream. We decided to share a seafood platter and get a side of scallops. The food was very good, fresh and not heavily battered. The owner came over to make sure everything was good. Another positive thing is it's BYOB!! For us it had nothing to do with getting cheaper drinks, but everything to do with bringing what we want to drink. This was my first visit to Pinecroft recently. Solid place to get some fresh fried seafood and ice cream. For ice cream, they have tons of flavors. I had the haddock wrap and it as a bit underwhelming. It was fine--but wish it had more flavor to it. The fries and onion rings were done right. What I really liked about the restaurant is the dine in style that gave the old school diner feel. Towards the back of the dining room, they got a bunch of coloring books with crayons and color pencils for the kiddos. Service was great. Unbelievable ice cream! I came here on a Friday night around 7pm. The ice cream stand was not busy so we did not have to wait to order. They have a decent amount of flavors to choose from. I ordered a small chocolate chip cookie dough and it was SO good! The vanilla was very creamy, and it was packed with delicious cookie dough. The portions are fair. A little pricy but all ice cream stands are pricy these days. There is plenty of parking and places to sit and eat. Pinecroft has one of my favorite lobster rolls for a very reasonable price of $30. Another favorite item on the menu is the fisherman's platter which could easily feed two people. I've loved it here since I was a kid, so I'm excited it's just as good as I remember. The service was absolutely amazing. Our server, Liliana was on top of everything. Thank god it's cheat day. I just ate so much food, and it was so good I want to go throw it up just so I can relive the heavenly pleasure that was eating it again. This food is worthy of being served at my funeral. The chicken fingers are going to appear tonight in my dreams. I'm going to salivate so much that my pillow needs to be washed the following morning. The chicken tenders are just soooo good. The meat on the inside is so perfectly tender so it falls apart and just melts in your mouth, and the fried exterior is a like a fried clam in the way that it's perfectly flaky. We ordered a fisherman's platter, and a large chicken tenders to split between the two of us. Fries, barbecue, teriyaki, and blue cheese as our side and sauce. The food was undeniably incredible. The service was very kind, attentive and caring. I appreciated their level of care for our table. The ambience was straight out of Port Judith Rhode Island. Let's keep it real, I was born and raised in Rhode Island and I appreciate some pretty good seafood, and I don't know how this place ended up all the way out here, but I appreciate its existence. The type and quality of food found here just tells Rhode Island, and the interior design feels light, open, and airy just like being on a beach. Last time I ate at Pinecrofts, some random kid I met at the Greek Festival called me to see if I wanted to go get an ice cream. We shared an order of fries and a sundae. That was 1986. My husband and I wanted to go out to eat this past Sunday and also wanted to stay in Holden. Unfortunately, we were too late for Vals or Sandwich Co as both close at 7. We ended up at Pinecroft and we were so glad we did. We haven't been here for dinner for a long time. We figured it would be just diner food but we were so mistaken! My husband got the fried fish sandwich and it was a huge piece of fish on a toasted bun. I went with a BLT on toasted sourdough bread with coleslaw. The sandwich was huge as well but nice amount of bacon and lettuce and tomatoes. The coleslaw was not overly mayonnaise filled and was quite delicious. I haven't been there in years. My husband and I were in the area so we decided to eat here. It was a Saturday and busy, but we were seated right away. We ordered a small clams and a side of slaw to split and each got a burger and fries- well, cheese burger for my husband. The clams were delicious and a good amount. The burgers were good, but not what we imagined. Still we enjoyed them. I wished we had known fries cost extra bc we would have gotten one order. I'm sure we just didn't read the menu clearly.
