We love pirates cove, they're within walking distance so we are pretty regular there! Although the food is good, the portion sizes are pretty small for the price. Look - finding good food, fair prices, and consistent quality/service is like finding a unicorn these days. However, Pirate's Cove delivers each and every time we go. I'm not into seafood (blasphemy, I know). But their buffalo chicken sandwich rivals the "buffalo chicken places" I have visited. ALWAYS delicious. Not chewy. Quality. Great flavor. Excellent price. Oh, and HUGE. It's a very hearty sandwich and I love it. Wish someone would drop one off on my desk right now. Their tenders, burgers, fries (add the cheese! Add the cheese!) are delicious. I'm pretty sure my husband has had their hot dogs, too, and liked them. I mean, we like it all. I need to try their tacos! HUGE variety. My mom (a seafood fan) has been very happy with their fish & chips. I really enjoy sitting outside - they offer great seating - clean, covered with lovely umbrellas, picnic tables in the shade. They really do go the extra mile to make it a comfortable spot to stay and dine, or you can take your food to go and... go. But if you go, you miss out on the music that I also love. So thanks for that, Pirate's Cove! Cans of soda ... allow me to say how grateful I am that they carry diet Root Beer. Another unicorn, and they have it. LOVE that. Grape Fanta makes my kids' hearts sing as well. Variety is lovely. Thank you. Their only flaw? They aren't open year round. Haha! Obv not conducive to a year round operation so it's not their fault, but that craving that comes in the winter time... it makes me almost want to cry when I drive by in the off season. We were taking a back route around the Worcester area and stumbled upon this ice cream and food shack. I'm not sure how close to Worcester but it was relatively nearby. I loved the mural with the chef chasing the food items and the pirate themed art was pretty cool. They had a huge list of soft serve ice cream flavors along with a nice list of hard flavors. You can also order items like fried clams and hamburgers. We went with the banana soft serve and the blueberry soft serve. One scoop in a cup and you got a lot of ice cream! The blueberry was amazing. I've recommended it to several friends. Yum. The banana was okay - it had that fake banana taste which really was noticeable when compared to the blueberry. Nice flavor but not awesome like the blueberry. I'm sure we'd stop in again if in the area, pretty cool find. read more

Food was good, service was window service. The staff I dealt with were very nice. Was too chilly to hang out and eat so I took our meals to go. Fish and chips with onion rings were tasty, good portion. Cooked properly. Double hot dog combo with cheese sauce was also good. Grilled rolls, grilled dogs. Fries were crisp. read more

I don't come here much because they always seem to get my food wrong. Our burgers were pink inside and we asked for well done. The girls taking the order were nice enough, but it took forever and to not even have our burgers cooked all the way through. I asked for a single onion ring and got a bunch plus thickly chopped raw onions all under the burger. So that was an unpleasant surprise. Oh, wouldn't recommend the smoothies either. I asked and they don't use actual ingredients or real bananas, just a pre-boxed mix in a blender. As a local I've been coming here for 20 years. I'm totally disappointed the past two times I went. I got the fish sandwich both times and it is $8.99 now and it had two little pieces of fish on it about half size portion of what is usually on there. Also, not having a separate line for ice cream makes people wait way too long to get food. You've lost my business now. I used to come 2 to 3 times a week. read more

I love this place. I live in California and have family in Uxbridge. Every time I go there for a visit, I make sure we go to Pirate's Cove at least a couple of times for their clam chowder and other goodies. I'm always disappointed when I'm in town and they are closed for the season. Already looking forward to my next bowl of chowder this summer. I get what other folks are saying about nicer and fancier restaurants in town, but I love walking to this simple place in the middle of a parking lot and getting a good bowl of clam chowder for a reasonable price. I'm going to be back and review some other items. This review is just based on the foot long chili cheese dog. I would give it a B-. Not bad. But for $4 I expected a bit more chili and cheese. I have only been to Pirate's Cove a handful of times and I've lived in whitinsville for almost my entire life. Recently, I've been craving hot dogs like wild and vaguely remember getting them here a year or two ago and being blown away by quality. This time around, I ended up getting a #4 combo which includes two footlong hotdogs, fries and a can of soda for around $7.50. Not bad for the price! I ordered the dogs with mustard and ketchup but I do have to say they put way too much on. So much, to the point where I was scraping it out of the bun and off the dogs. The hot dogs were grilled but they didn't have the snap casings (I'm a snappy casing kinda girl). The girls working at the counter and behind the scenes are doing a great job holding it all together through this crazy time. They were very nice and personable. I do have to say, I'd come back next time for their ice cream. I NEVER knew they sold Gifford's ice cream! That's some premium ice cream I see myself consuming in the near future, for sure! read more

Found out about this place from friends about 4 years ago . I used to live in Hopedale and would drive right past George's in Mendon to get to Pirates Cove .. food is always spot on . Great selection and always fresh . Never had a bad visit . My fave Is the fish and chip plate . I by chance moved to Whitinsville last year and guess what I'm literally a few doors down from the place . It's great in a way , but bad because now I go to here 3 to 4 times a week lol . 4 stars because prices could be a tad lower and also this is me being selfish but they should be open more into the late fall .. or even year round read more

I had the fish n chips last evening. So disappointed. Have you ever tasted fish sticks? This is what the fish tasted like. A piece of battered , frozen fish that was chewy not flaky, didn't even taste like haddock. They advertised fresh fish. Nope, not this piece. The onions rings were delicious but, the grease left my mouth with a greasy after taste. The fries were so so but also left that greasy ring around my mouth. Hands down best seafood around the area. It is always fresh and crispy every time I go. I also enjoy their grill items, they're delicious and affordable. There is a hot dog combo meal that comes with fries and a drink for under $7! They also have a foot long hotdog option, a cheeseburger meal, chicken finger meal, buffalo chicken sandwich meal, and a fish sandwich meal. I love to go there on a nice warm day and sit outside and enjoy my food at their picnic tables and ice cream for dessert is the perfect treat. On days when the weather isn't as nice I call in and order my food and it's always ready by the time I get there. This seemed to be the place the locals go, evidenced by the steady flow of customers. Stopped here with my little one for an early dinner. We ordered up a number 4, 2 foot longs, fries and a soda along with a 1/4 pound hamburger for just over ten bucks. Had no problem waiting the five minutes to prepare our meal. When our number was called, we wee presented with some freshly made, hot and delicious food. Hot dog buns were lightly toasted adding to my delight. Plenty of food for the both of us without over doing it. Little Miss Thing even had room for a Ninja Turtle Ice Plenty of outdoor seating, though some of it is right at the roadside. read more

I'm sorry but the meal I got from this establishment was terrible or at least part of it was terrible. I got a Combination Plate of Fried Clams and Sea Scallops. The fried clams and accompanying fries and onion rings were pretty good. The scallops tasted as if they were dipped in ammonia before they were fried. That's ammonia as in they were way too old to be served to a paying customer. At $21.99 they do not give the food away and I believe that the seafood should have at least a modicum of freshness to it. As I said the fried whole clams were good but watch out with the scallops and make sure you ask for whole ones and not the pieces that I received. read more

I was anxiously awaiting the opening this year. The seafood at Pirate's Cove was always excellent. I ordered a haddock/scallop combo for $21. When I got home and opened up the bag, I saw that they forgot my cole slaw. That was disappointing, I really like their cole slaw. Worse, though, I was surprised to see that the portions are very small this year. It was delicious, but not enough for the money. I will be getting my fish on Fridays elsewhere now. read more

While still waiting for our food we asked for our Money back to go elsewhere. Owner told us no he would not give us our money back. So we left with out our order and they would not refund our money. Had signs up order here and pick up here. This is a change from the old ordering system and I asked the girls at the counter specifically if this had changed. After waiting ten minutes in the order here line I watched several groups of people walk up to the pick up here line and order their food. A cute little summer eatery. Lots of fried food, and great place to get an ice cream. Plenty of traditional Hersey hard serve flavors, and lots of traditional, and funky (like tutti frutti) soft serve flavors. I tried the brownie sundae, and it was delicious! This was a horrible experience and does not even deserve one star. STAY FAR AWAY! My family picked up take out, 2 whole clam plates at the 19.95 each, 1 large onion rings for 6.99, and one Fish and chips for 10.99. The total was 60.44. The clams were not fully cooked. The fish and chips was only one fillet. The food was tasteless. The batter to fry it was not seasoned. You could get so much more for 60 dollars at any seafood establishment. We called the place to explain the small quantity, food not being cooked, and the outrageous price. The girl that picked up said there was nothing she could do about it. We asked for the manager and he/she did not have any desire to deal with the issue. The girl responded by saying the price is high due to the cost of clams. Doubtful she was aware of the price or ensure customers are properly known of the market price. She did not care that the food was not good and not cooked. She gave attitude to us immediately when called. We barely ate the food it, was that bad. Stay far away from this joint. Service is awful and food is horrible. I cannot say how the rest of the menu tastes, but the seafood was awful, highly priced, and of low quantity. Employees don't care and management can't deal with basic customer/restaurant needs. read more
