    Cute mural

We were taking a back route around the Worcester area and stumbled upon this ice cream and food shack. I'm not sure how close to Worcester but it was relatively nearby. I loved the mural with the chef chasing the food items and the pirate themed art was pretty cool. They had a huge list of soft serve ice cream flavors along with a nice list of hard flavors. You can also order items like fried clams and hamburgers. We went with the banana soft serve and the blueberry soft serve. One scoop in a cup and you got a lot of ice cream! The blueberry was amazing. I've recommended it to several friends. Yum. The banana was okay - it had that fake banana taste which really was noticeable when compared to the blueberry. Nice flavor but not awesome like the blueberry. I'm sure we'd stop in again if in the area, pretty cool find.

Food was good, service was window service. The staff I dealt with were very nice. Was too chilly to hang out and eat so I took our meals to go. Fish and chips with onion rings were tasty, good portion. Cooked properly. Double hot dog combo with cheese sauce was also good. Grilled rolls, grilled dogs. Fries were crisp.

    Well done burger?

I don't come here much because they always seem to get my food wrong. Our burgers were pink inside and we asked for well done. The girls taking the order were nice enough, but it took forever and to not even have our burgers cooked all the way through. I asked for a single onion ring and got a bunch plus thickly chopped raw onions all under the burger. So that was an unpleasant surprise. Oh, wouldn't recommend the smoothies either. I asked and they don't use actual ingredients or real bananas, just a pre-boxed mix in a blender. Nice variety of regular and soft serve ice cream can be ordered at a separate window to the left of the food order window.

    Foot long chili cheese dog

I'm going to be back and review some other items. This review is just based on the foot long chili cheese dog. I would give it a B-. Not bad. But for $4 I expected a bit more chili and cheese. I probably could have eaten 3 of these. But then I'm $12 deep and could have gotten a lot more food for that money.

I have only been to Pirate's Cove a handful of times and I've lived in whitinsville for almost my entire life. Recently, I've been craving hot dogs like wild and vaguely remember getting them here a year or two ago and being blown away by quality. This time around, I ended up getting a #4 combo which includes two footlong hotdogs, fries and a can of soda for around $7.50. Not bad for the price! I ordered the dogs with mustard and ketchup but I do have to say they put way too much on. So much, to the point where I was scraping it out of the bun and off the dogs. The hot dogs were grilled but they didn't have the snap casings (I'm a snappy casing kinda girl). The girls working at the counter and behind the scenes are doing a great job holding it all together through this crazy time. They were very nice and personable. I do have to say, I'd come back next time for their ice cream. I NEVER knew they sold Gifford's ice cream! That's some premium ice cream I see myself consuming in the near future, for sure!

The food is amazing and the girls at the counter are always super cheerful and sweet. Love the outdoor seating and the fried pickles! They also have amazing ice cream - apple pie ice cream is their new special flavor for fall and it is to die for!

More soft serve flavors than W. E. Creamery.

Their food truck operates sporadically, typically once a week depending on the season, and the menu is usually limited. That said, everything we've tried has been consistently excellent. Check their website to see where they'll be next. We caught them at the Stanley Woolen Mill parking lot and ordered: Lobster Roll (Original Size) - $20.95 Harvest Turkey Sandwich - $13.75 Mashed Potatoes with Gravy - $2.50 "Call Tag: F Troop" Total with tip: $43.78 Once you place your order, you get a fun retro call tag. Ours was F Troop, while others got classics like The Brady Bunch. The soundtrack? The theme from The Monkees. Nice touch. About 10 minutes later, our order was up. The "original" lobster roll may be their smaller option, but it's still generously sized--served in a classic New England split-top bun and packed with lobster. Fresh, simple, and done right. Then there's the Harvest Turkey Sandwich--labeled "The BIG-ONE" for good reason. It weighs in at well over 1¼ pounds and lives up to the name. It's massive. Adding the mashed potatoes and gravy turned the second half of that sandwich into dinner later on, which worked out perfectly. Bottom line: Yummies Drive-Up is, in fact, very yummy. Tip: To reduce wait time, call or text your order in the morning. Skip the online form--texting is the way to go.

I was in for the adventure!!! She contacted them ahead of time to get more details (they didn't have a Yelp page yet) and they advised to park across the street at the package store (was it a package store? I think it used to be Lynch's drugstore years ago? I'm not positive anymore). We parked and crossed the street. We weren't quite sure where to go and stopped at the front screen door to ask. They told us to follow around the side of the building to the back. We stepped into their back patio and were quickly in a relaxed atmosphere. The patio was set up beautifully with plenty of tables, umbrellas and lots and lots of plants!!! They came out and helped us pick a nice shaded spot to enjoy our meal. We were offered menus and the woman who seems to be the originator of this 'idea' (her name is fittingly Holly), sat down with us and told us how this venture is all run by volunteers and all the money raised goes towards funding the town of Uxbridge's annual Christmas Parade. She also explained to us (along with her marine biologist daughter) how they are trying to be as environmentally conscious as they can be. All the paper products were recyclable as well as the disposable eating utensils. They also made an extra effort to get canned water as to cut back on plastic. My friend got the chicken pot pie and I got the pastrami sandwich. We were quite pleased with our selections. They have a regular everyday menu and specials everyday. They have limited hours of Tuesday thru Friday from 11-3 pm. Go check them out, you'll enjoy a delicious meal, help a great cause and get to relax on their cute patio!!

So BBQ...super excited, picturing that Southern style BBQ cooking...but unfortuantely they didn't live up to what I was hoping for. First off, super friendly, no complaints there, service was great. Got the pulled pork without the bun and onion rings. Now of course you may think that bc I got it without the bun maybe that was the issue, however, a co-worker got the bun and before even knowing my thoughts said 'this is lacking flavor'. The BBQ sauce was great but the pork itself was lacking any flavor. I know that pork is hard to flavor sometimes, like you have to make it then shred it to let it soak in the flavor, maybe this last step was missed? The onion rings had about an 80% breading to 20% onion ratio, so disappointing. Now I don't want to say this is true for everything they serve, EVERYONE that got the brisket said it was one of the best briskets they have ever had! So if you go, get this because I truly would go again and try the brisket and will update my review if I agree, can only base it on my experience with my order.

Burger was cooked perfectly and juicy, toppings were fresh and the sesame seed bun was classic American in both flavor and style. The hand cut fries and onion rings were both fried to perfection, and I am typically not a fan of fried food. They did get a little limp with time so I do suggest eating them right away and ketchup was a great addition to the fries. Definitely a place I would run back to!
