Von Trapp and a Pomegranate Pineapple Margarita
Jay P.

I am always looking for hidden gems and came upon this one in Grafton. Located on a small side street, cut through, this place was a great find. Not very big, so reservations are recommended but not needed. As you walk in there is a U shaped bar with some high tops. They have a good selection of locals beers and many others on bottles. Their mixed drink selections had some really cool combinations and my wife loved her margaritas. A good size menu with nightly specials. We started with the crispy shrimp. They were on a bed of tasty coleslaw. Five decent sized shrimp cooked perfectly and a spicy dipping sauce. Wife then went with the "special" pizza of the night. A good size thin crust pizza with plenty of chicken, hot peppers and a creamy sauce. I went with the grilled cheese short rib sandwich. It was packed with short rib and toasted nicely. It came on a huge pile of fries that were obviously hand cut. If they hadn't charged us extra for a small cup of Ranch dressing for my wife, they would have been 5 stars. Either way this is a definite stop

Very chic decor, minimalist, but so so cold. The food was pricey but very good so I was ok although we only got a burger and the panko chicken sandwich. Both had great flavor and the homemade dressings were good. Service was decent enough. The sour dill pickles were great, though.

The service is beyond unacceptable. The waitress walked past us more times than I can count and did not acknowledge us at all. The food is fantastic but the service is not.

Came in a few weeks ago and had a great time. The place was clean and the service was great. We got the Korean meatballs and they were excellent - though not entirely Korean, but I'll let it pass. Our sandwiches and dessert were delicious! The ice cream cake is something different altogether - it's like an ice cream pie and it's so unique. Really tasty! Good beer selection too.

We love the Grafton Grill & Crust! Menu has something for everyone. The prices are reasonable, drinks are delicious, service is great. We always start with the mussels which are amazing! Pizzas are delicious and definitely big enough to split between two. The other night we ended with the homemade ice cream pie which was freaking awesome! Can't wait to go back.

Great food & drinks. Love the buy 1 get 1 pizza (which is fantastic!) on Tuesdays & burger night on Wednesday as well.

Had fish tacos, the fish was overcooked and very bland. First time coming here, very disappointed. The waitress was great!

Our server was very attentive and pleasant) and our food was absolutely delicious. Above and beyond! I had the turkey/spinach/roasted red pepper omelet with pumpernickel toast (which sounds super busy but was perfect in every way). It was so different- I loved everything about it! The peppers were just amazing! The toast was just how I like- normal toasted, a little darker on the edges. Always the way I want it but never get it that way (and butter on the side too- big bonus to me). I added a picture for you to see it. We are looking forward to returning for another meal- lunch or dinner. I highly recommend Red Rock!

The drink consisted of a shot(if that) of vodka cranberry juice soda water and a splash of pomegranate juice , not really all that special, served in a SHORT glass of ice $14.00. This is not a down town city fancy restaurant It's what I thought was a town family friendly type of place. As a bartender I was certainly taken back by the price and size of the beverage. At least be upfront & forthcoming and list the prices.

For food we had the fish and chips and the regular cheese burger. The burger was 9/10! The bread was fresh the ingredients felt fresh and cooked to the temperature I asked. The fish n chips didn't disappoint for a burger spot. Overall, I would definitely come back. The big bar had plenty of seating and the cabin vibes in the main dining hall felt like home. The bartenders were excellent good place to go if you're looking for good service as they were very attentive and friendly.

So, when a good friend called and told me that there was a new one that opened in Shrewsbury, it was off to the races. I had to experience this. Service: We got seated nearly instantaneously when we got in the door and the place was already quite busy by the time that we got there. My friend got a salad of some sort with a sandwich and I got one of their signature burgers. The waitress appeared in a timely fashion, took the orders, had drinks on the table in no time, and was very attentive to any and all needs. Ambiance: It was on a Saturday during sports season, so there was a lot of noise and chaos going on, but that is always how I remembered the Ground Round. It is NOT a restaurant that you are going to read a good book in. The fact that this restaurant also had high cathedral ceilings which increased the acoustics, made it a little more unbearable for people who like quieter spots. But to me and my friend, it was not a dealbreaker. Food: After all, what were we doing there for anyways, but the food? It was very good. She enjoyed her dish, and my burger was actually one of those "skyscraper" burgers that are impossible to grip with two hands or get into your mouth for a bite. After dining at the Ground Round again, I am moderately confident that I could take a bite out of the Prudential Center if the need arose. Don't get me wrong, the burger was tasty, juicy, and done to perfection, but it was yuuuuge. Overall, if I could give the Ground Round a 1/2 a star I would make my rating of them a 4 and a 1/2 stars venue. I will definitely be back and look forward to meeting my friend there again for lunch. :) -S

Vincent's - Meatball Sandwich

I probably never would have found this place on my own, but I'm really glad I tried it!…read more One of my bosses is originally from Worcester, and her daughter was heading home for the weekend, so my boss asked her to stop at Vincent's and grab us some meatball sandwiches for lunch. She had been talking about how amazing their meatball sandwiches were, and since meatball sandwiches are basically my favorite food, I obviously had to try them. Before this, I had never heard of Vincent's. We looked it up and realized it's not really a traditional restaurant. It's a bar that serves food, and apparently their meatball sandwiches are a big thing. Another coworker of mine who is also from Worcester explained that this is a place people go to for drinks and food, and that they have some specific rules when it comes to ordering the sandwiches. When we called, we were told that they do takeout, but you can't actually place a takeout order over the phone. You have to go in and order it. I thought that was a little unusual, but my coworker said that's their normal practice. There is also a three-sandwich limit per person. My bosses daughter went in to order five for the office, so thankfully she had someone with her and they were able to order three each. Apparently, the three-sandwich limit is posted on one of their Google pictures, so I guess if you know, you know. I do wish they had a website or something that clearly explained the takeout process and ordering limits, because if you've never been there, you wouldn't necessarily know any of this. Now for the important part...the sandwich! My bosses daughter had about a 30-35 minute drive back to us, so I honestly expected the sandwich to be pretty cold by the time I got it. It was wrapped in foil, and somehow it was STILL warm when I opened it. I was actually surprised. And let me tell you...this was probably one of the best meatball sandwiches I've ever had. It's definitely different from your typical meatball sub. The meatballs are flat, and instead of a regular torpedo/sub roll, it comes on this thick Italian bread. I honestly didn't know what to expect, but I LOVED it. The combination of the bread and the meatballs was so good that I'm pretty sure I'm going to want my meatball sandwiches this way from now on. I can only imagine how good it would have been if I had eaten it fresh at the bar instead of 35 minutes later. So yes, I completely understand why my boss recommended this place. If I'm ever back in the Worcester area, I will absolutely be stopping at Vincent's. Just make sure you know the ordering rules before you go!

From beers to entrees, Cold Harbor is a solid dinner spot…read more I went here for dinner before heading to a Pitbull show at Xfinity. I know... super far, right? Well, we had stayed in Worcester after going to another concert the previous night and needed some things to do in between. Enter Cold Harbor. I ordered the Pumpkin Ale as it's that season and loved the malty spicy balance. They had a gluten-free pizza that had sausage and ricotta. The crust was bomb! Very nicely cooked with nice globs of ricotta making it more tasty. Waitress was super friendly and helpful. At one point I think she got placed outside and it was difficult to get her towards the end, but we figured it out. I liked the pumpkin beer so much, I decided to try a flight. I ordered all pale ales/ipas. They were a bit too wet with hops and one of them gave me a little hop burn. The flavor profiles were good though. I walked out with a pack of Ravenna and Pumpkin Ale. I would definitely like to go again!

Big,…read moreclean, modern facility with indoor and outdoor seating. -- Patty Melt: Surprisingly willing and able to serve one medium rare, and with the requisite griddled bread. Impressive contrast between the patty's crusted exterior and still-juicy interior. Arguably overdone on the outside, but I'll take that all day every day as long as the juiciness is there. Moderate amount of butter on the Texas toast standing in for rye. Somewhat-traditional condiments, but with a few liberties taken (caramelized onion, cheddar jack, bacon). Not elite, but solid enough job and probably among the better patty melts I've had on my recent quest. -- CH Cheeseburger: Tried twice, this wasn't just a good cheeseburger for the 'burbs or a good cheeseburger for a brewery. This is a good cheeseburger, period, and a very good one. The first thing I really like about it is that it's a thick, full-size patty, and not the overexposed smashburger that's made the thick ones nearly extinct. The second is that they understand and deliver on the concept of textural contrast: crusty exterior and pink, very juicy interior. They also season it just enough to notice, butter that griddled bun just enough to notice, and don't screw up the vegetable additions. The cheese is there but unremarkable. The bun is soft and flexible. Overall, one of the best burgers in MetroWest and Worcester. -- Fries: The frozen variety, neither great nor horrific. They got the job done. -- Beer: I like their offerings, led by their flagship Juice Freak, served properly in attractive glassware. I have other breweries with beers I love, but none of them has a burger I love, and I'm already falling in love with this one. Service was excellent every time, once at a table and twice at the bar. Note: If you use Siri to get directions here by name rather than address, she'll tell you that they've closed, but that's because they moved recently. They're open.
