5 out of 5! Great food! Great vibe! Owner, Pam, is top notch! So friendly and so much fun! This is a must stop! You won't want to leave!

F this place. 10 TVs and stupid bartender wouldn't turn ONE to a different game than the one that was playing on all the televisions. Terrible. Hope the place burns down. read more

Soon as I walked in, I was treated as if I've been there for years bartender was great. I think his name was Chris, but he's in the photo. He's awesome. Made some new buddies. Everything was clean. Food smelled great. Drinks were great everything well priced ! crowd dispersed after a certain time so it was even better. He had room to move around. read more

This place is a gem in Boston. There are many gems in Boston, but this one is a step above the normal Boston Pub gem status and unique as it showcases more than a dozen house made 'Egg-Rolls' filled with anything from Mac and Cheese, to Shepperd's Pie (my personal favorite), to Chicken Pot Pie through buffalo chicken and pulled BBQ beef to name a few!!! Wings were also really good, they used corn starch to coat before they fried them which gives them a really great crisp/crunch even when coated with the sauce. Great staff as well and while it was a month ago or so I was there and i can't recall his name, he looked a lot like Aaron Rodgers so you won't miss him if you visit this place! Thanks again! Hope you enjoy this place as much as I did! read more

Walked here before a concert. We grabbed a high top and stole chairs from other people's tables they weren't using. We were trying to order food on the app when the bartender came over. She was super nice, asked if we needed drinks. Gave some recommendations. We started with tatchos, a Vermont cider and a Long Island. We also ordered burgers. I did not expect the food to be as good as it was. The burger was really greasy but honestly I haven't had a burger like that in so long-it was welcomed. Everything was so damn good. If we didn't live 2 hours away it would easily have been a regular visit. read more

The corner pub has some of the most sociable, real and caring employees I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. 8/5 stars for Madi and John

Swung into the corner pub for a quick bite as I was craving some buffalo wings. This quaint little bar is everything you love about "a corner pub." The service is friendly as were the customers who stuck up conversion . I ordered wings and was surprised . For the record , I don't prefer breaded wings so when they came ( breaded) I gave a little sigh ... I was really impressed upon trying them how crispy and tasty they were. The bleu cheese was perfect and fresh as well. Very good meal highly recommended!! read more

5 star for food, atmosphere 4.5. Expect it to be a bit louder, as most pubs are. The food was excellent, the service was on point. Our waitress was so helpful read more

This was definitely the go to bar spot while in Boston. Pam and her husband are the owners and they are THE BEST. It is a small chill place to hang and have drinks. Pam and her husband will take care of you and make sure you alright. I came across this bar on Yelp and they were like how the heck you found us! They not a big advertiser of their business. They keep it small and a family type feel vibe. They do sell food here too. I tried their house wings with a side of buffalo sauce...delicious! They also made a pizza which wasn't bad. But the wings were really fresh and good. The drinks are decently priced. I just enjoyed the atmosphere here and the vibe. I can't wait to return here when I am back in Boston. They do have a lottery drawing you can play there and such funny bar decors. read more

Came here on a Thursday night before Christmas Eve. Right as we got there, the worker had written on the door they are closing at eight when it just turned 6:30. Seating ourselves, we were informed the kitchen close at 7 o'clock so we were quick to decide on what to order. We shared the steak and cheese eggrolls as well as the mac & cheese with hot dog egg roll. We built our own burgers including the mushrooms, peppers and onions cooked to medium. Compared to other steak and cheese egg rolls I've had before, these were not anything spectacular being on the dry and over cooked side. Same goes for the Mac n cheese version in which my half barely had any hotdog because of how it was cut. However, these factors could have been due to them trying to close and wrap up for the night. The burger was great though, perfect for those drunk nights you want to get something fatty and comforting in your belly. Both the regular and sweet potatoes fries were crispy and soft filling. The brioche buns were always appreciated but a side pickle really would have made it even better. In the short time there, we were able to order their mixed drink which comprised of pineapple juice, vodka, and a few other ingredients making an easy drink to sip on while waiting for food. Would like to come back at an earlier time/different day as I can tell it has a great and comfortable vibe to hangout with friends and maybe get to know others. read more

Stopped in here for a quick drink while waiting to head back to New York on Saturday afternoon. They had some outdoor seating, along with inside seating. I opted to sit inside. There were a few tables occupied with one or 2 persons. I ordered a margarita, which was reallyyyy good. The bartender was really cool. She switch up the music and started playing Beyoncé and Rihanna. Talk about knowing how to read the crowd! This was a cool place to stop in for a drink. I'd definitely return with some friends next time! read more

The Corner Pub - Margarita - Dive Bars Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

This has become the "eat, pray, love" of dive bars. Sometime during quarantine (when I wasn't looking), they replaced all the legit dive bar deco with banal sayings on dollar-store plaques in pastel colors. Imagine throw cushions that say "it's wine o'clock somewhere" and pablum like that. (Okay, maybe not cushions, but your maiden uncle would think the place was cute.) That's not how to run a dive bar. There's a dive bar I know -- a legit one -- that has a shelf tucked in behind another shelf on the back of the bar which is full of random liquors, stuff that nobody drinks, like, maybe, bubblegum vodka or... and there's a handwritten sign on the shelf that says "$4 shots." It's been that way for years. It's known as the four-dollar shot shelf. (And yes, I have. And, no, NOT the bubblegome vodka, for godsakes.) This is what the Corner Pub used to be like but The Corner Pub has gone corporate. They've painted a big mockup of the Green Monster and have a formal fancy board that lists "brown bag shots" and "Mystery Beer." It's just not the same when it's scrubbed. It's like when mom sees that you're collecting beer can labels and decides to help out. Uh, mom.... Up the block there's another legit dive bar that has its wine list on a white board. It says: Red. White. That's it. No meta self-conscious aren't-we-cute stuff. While I was sipping my coors lite, I started to wonder if I'd imagined the earlier Corner Pub and so pulled out pictures. Nope. The Pub has changed, and not for the better. Oh, you can still get cheap(ish) drinks and stoned bartenders. You can still get corned beef egg rolls (and other weird wonders of the dive world), but not as many, and not as cheap. Okay, I know, Covid forced everyone to streamline. But why wreck the dive vibe? read more

This is absolutely one of the best bars in Boston. For location, you can't beat only a couple blocks from South Station. For food, they serve some of the best. As for staff, the owner and every single server there set the bar as one of the best in the country. read more

This could be a really generic pub and still succeed off its location and price point. But it really goes the extra mile to have character: fun decor, silly bartenders, cool traditions like mystery drinks, and just all around good vibes. Also had some great drinks, including a delightful IPA I wish I could remember the name of. Check it out! read more

I always love coming here! The atmosphere is fun and the staff are so friendly! Great place to grab a drink and the eggrolls are amazing!

The food here was pretty solid. My friends and I were disappointed that they ran out of the cider they had on tap - and we were a bit surprised that for three ciders, mozzarella sticks and chicken strips we paid $60. The inside is exactly what you'd expect - kind of sports-ish and a little divey. The bartenders are nice but a little inattentive - it took me a while to flag them down/ get their attention despite the bar being pretty empty. read more

I walked in here with two friends on a Friday night- the atmosphere was pretty chill and it was pretty empty, so it was nice to not be in a rowdy place. We only walked in here because it was relatively close to South Station (about a 5 minute walk) and because the price claimed itself to be one (1) dollar sign. We ordered chicken tenders to share ($10), an order of mozzarella sticks ($7), and three ciders (???). The food was nothing spectacular; it reminded me of college dining hall snacks. Cider was nice and sweet. Unfortunately, we were absolutely shocked when got ready to leave and the total was around $60. Most likely won't be coming here again. read more

Cute place, tasty food for being a bar! Bartender was funny and very kind about our food allergy questions.

Terrible experience very unprofessional never again We were seated and quickly received our drinks, we we were told our waitress would come back but she took 45 min to come back to take our order our waitress was too busy talking to friends and taking drinks/shots with coworkers. she only came because she saw my wife's very unhappy face, After putting our orders in she comes back 5 min later and re confirms our orders, i wonder why she would slightly forget our orders... maybe too many shots. Our food was ok, steak and cheese and buffalo egg rolls were good. Mac and cheese egg rolls and mozzarella was bland and mid. After receiving our food it took her over an hour to come back to our table, too busy talking and drinking to tend to us. After awhile I had to wave her down and ask for the check and she said she got us but then went on a phone call and came back 30 min later after being waved down again for the check she had forgotten. In the meanwhile The next waitress grabs the half eaten food from the table next to us and drops it on my wife's sweater and the floor... again maybe she had too many shots to be coordinated. She half apologizes to my wife and barely cleans up the floor and leaves the other persons half eaten food on our table and never comes back to get it. Our waitress comes back to check on us but by then my wife had already walked out the pub in frustration with the terrible service. She realizes she never brought the check and brings it and I hand her my card and she drops it right in the food that was spilled on the floor... again maybe too many shots on the job. Terrible service, food is ok, but literally one of the most unprofessional bars I've been to and I had high hopes for a bar rated this well on yelp. Could have been a cool vibe for football but not with that service. Lack of accountability, tentativeness, and professionalism. read more

Came in here after boxing class and I had very little expectations of this place. Boy, was I in for a treat!?! The steak and cheese egg roll was soooo good! I tried the cheeseburger one too and it was okay, definitely choose steak and cheese though. The sweet potato fries were fried to perfection. It was a tad bit crunchy on the outside but moist in the inside. Absolutely adore this place! read more

Great hole-in-the-wall spot which is a bit divy, but comfortable, welcoming and easily handled our family of 5. Owners are running around decorating for shark week, blowing up beach balls for all to enjoy. Nice place for sports or a Keno game. Feels like sitting at home with your friends. I have a feeling the second visit you will be participating in the hugs. Did not have the food but looks and smells great. Place is spotless and decor is fun. Definitely not the run of the mill tourist spot...and that's a good thing. A must check out if in the area! read more

Yesterday was my first and last time going here. I politely asked the bartender what the IPA on tap was, and he just fired back, "There are like 5 of 'em," so I pointed directly to the tap I was asking about and said "the one that says 'IPA' on it" and he repeated himself, "There are like 5 IPAs"...this went around a few times until he finally said, "oh, you mean the one that says 'IPA' on it?" Just complete rudeness that could have been avoided if he did his job and provided a real answer from the beginning. I'm totally fine with a no frills dive bar (it's basically my go-to) but I know enough good bartenders around town to know this ain't it. If I had been drunk or an a-hole I would get the attitude, but I was neither. So have a nice life being like that to everyone you meet. read more
