Busy, pricey and impersonal, this place is a skip. Food was good, but honestly ambiance was just like I should have got up and got my order in myself so I didn't bother the staff. Nothing special there's other places in the city that are worth your time and money.
Possibly the best meal I had while in Boston. We tried going one night without a reservation and couldn't get in so made a reservation and went back the next night and Bostonia Pubic House did not disappoint. For being packed the service did not disappoint. The ambiance was updated gastropub. My chicken dish was delicious.
The best date night location in downtown Boston! On our visit we were greeted by a pianist who was playing the best music. Oysters were delicious and fresh. Me and my fiancée also shared a lobster roll that was just as good.
This place was the best! Ate lunch at the bar which is huge and loved it. The clam chowder was the best I ever had and the lobster roll was also delicious. Quite busy for lunch but our bartender was still pretty attentive. I would definitely go back.
Looking for a great Bloody Mary in Boston. We just happened to walk by this place after shopping at the market, heading to our lunch destination, James Hook and Company. As we walked by, we saw people outside eating à la carte and they had fabulous Bloody Mary drinks on the tables. We walked in and we were greeted by friendly staff. The bartender was excellent and explained everything to us. It was $23 and you build your own bloody Mary. The selections were phenomenal. The shrimp was phenomenon. The short ribs were phenomenal. We saw adults as well as children eating here. It is an adult and/or family atmosphere. Enjoy!!!
I wanted to love it more... but our meal was just ok. We ordered charcuterie, and while the meats and accoutrements were very good... it needed cheese, but that had to be ordered separately. I didn't like the choice of either or. My chicken sandwich was ok... very small chicken breast, and my wife's was bone dry. The aioli was very good. Maybe we ordered the wrong items, but probably not on our list of spots to return to. We did have excellent service, and the bar is certainly a fun atmosphere.

It was a nice day so we took advantage of Bostonia's outdoor patio seating. Great view of the local architecture and people. SERVICE: Great! Our server was outside frequently checking on us and got us our food and drinks quickly. Very friendly! FOOD: Our lobster rolls were very tasty and the food was very fresh. We got a free Arnold Palmer by mistake and it tasted great too! Had a great time here...would try again when I'm here in Boston.
Stopped in on a Monday for a burger and a beer, and was delighted by my experience. Had to sit at the bar because the place was pretty mobbed, but that was ok. The burger came with bacon, lettuce, tomato, bacon and a wonderful aioli sauce (I skipped the cheese), and it was cooked to perfection. Had the side salad, which came with a nice vinaigrette, and it was very good. Had the Lamplighter beer on draft and it was so refreshing. If we're in the area again, we will be back!
Across the street from the Custom House. Cool casual breakfast place also serves lunch. They have a lot of bar space and seating. The Lavazza coffee tasted good. The service was quick with many people in the restaurant. They have interesting breakfast options. We enjoyed the short rib poutine had an excellent Gruyère melted cheese pull. It tasted a bit like French onion short rib over tater tot's very savory would order again. The popper breakfast sandwich was also very good. It had herby cream cheese, Serrano pepper, couple eggs, and sausage and cheese on English muffin.
They brought out really quality nibbles for our event. It's cozy, it's cool, and the drinks are great. I ordered some fruit moon drink. Harvest moon? Excellent. SO good I ordered a second! The staff is kind and professional. I'll definitely be back here soon! The upstairs is a great event space too.

The server was really nice and attentive to our needs and requests. Ordered Korean short ribs, tuna tataki and clam chowder, very large portion for the price, great quality, all under $80. Second visit, made a reservation for a Saturday brunch at 1pm, same hostess, this time we were greeted with a smile and seated near a bar. Server was a little confused when I ordered a spiked match latte, from the menu, asked to take the menu up to the bartender. Apparently she didn't know about the new drink item? The short ribs poutine breakfast was good, the classic Benedict, not so much. The sauce was so sour on one and too salty on the other, English muffins were hard as a rock. Thumbs down on this.
Food - absolutely amazing. The hot lobster roll is probably one of the best in Boston. Butter, packed to the brim with meat and fries as a nice touch and not over complicated. Highly recommend. Service - while we were seated immediately as a table of 6, the service was definitely lacking. We had to call a food runner to get our server as we were waiting for a hot minute in the beginning. Also, no water refills until we got the check and were ready to leave. We sat outside under an umbrella and it was an absolute vibe. Only giving 4 stars due to lack of service. Otherwise, great restaurant and stop!

Another great choice while in Boston for my mom who loves burgers! This was a last-minute decision, but I read reviews and decided to stop in for lunch. Unfortunately we did not book a reservation, so seating was either at the bar or outside. We found a two-seater at the bar and all was well. We ordered salt and pepper wings and BPH burgers for lunch. The food came out piping hot, the wings were seasoned just right and the burger was better than the "GR" burger we had on our first day. As for the ambience, it started off with a few patrons, but soon we noticed seats filling and understood why the hostess said "i know It looks empty now, but we have those tables reserved'" an unnecessary statement, but I guess she saw us looking around when she mentioned bar seating. Def give this place a try! It's going on my Boston Eats list if I'm ever visiting again. read more
Great meal to end the upper US marathon vacation!! We had no idea where we may end up eating but the trusty Yelp app led us to another victory dance!! Yay for Yelp!! We had just cruised the nearby mall center thingy and were hungry on our last night in Boston. We saw the sites and did the things. Boston is a one of a kind place for sure. This was the choice. It was a great choice! Beautifully decorated and oh so chill inside. We have a thing that we do at places with great appetizers. We just order a bunch of those and feast. That's what we did here! We started with some raw oysters. They were very nice indeed. Island Creek Oysters from Duxbury MA. is where they came from. We love the little local Junts a lot and had them all over the northeast while we were there. We also had Crab Rangoon Dip. Very good, lots of fresh lump crabmeat, with a house chili crisp, scallions, and wonton chips. Loved it! They we had some fantastic mussels to close the deal! The flavor was amazing! I wish I could have them every single day! We also had a bowl of BPH Clam Chowder. CC is one of my favorite things and this place did not disappoint in any way! Delicious!! The server was great. Who goes to Boston and doesn't get a lobster roll? I almost did! This was the perfect place to stop after exploring. The lobster roll was cooked to perfection and the fries were pretty yummy too. I came around lunch time and it was a little rush. I sat at the bar and my server was still attentive. They had a game on but I'm not that big of a football fan. It seemed like a cool place to watch if that's your thing. Overall pretty cool place. read more
Of all the restaurants we tried in our trip to Boston, Bostonia Public House was probably the best one in terms of quality, although also, the priciest, if I'm being honest. We ordered burgers and fries, Mac and cheese, salmon and roasted veggies. All were very tasty with the Mac and cheese being the highlight of it. For drinks, we ordered coffee and proseco. The place itself was very busy but it wasn't too long of a wait to get a table. The service was decent in terms of speed. The ambiance is fairly classy and has a date or after work vibe to it. I was in Boston and I decided to give Bostonia Public House a try after hearing many great things about it. With that known, I started things off with their New England Clam Chowder. Having said that, the clam chowder was delicious. To explain, the chowder was creamy, rich, and flavorful. In addition, the potatoes were hearty and fresh. Also, the clams were cooked perfectly. It was a top tier clam chowder. After that, I ordered a hot lobster roll with fries and the results were great. To breakdown, the lobster roll was very good. The lobster was tender, delicate, and fresh. Likewise, the roll was airy and toasted to perfection. It was definitely one of the better lobster rolls I've had. In similar fashion, the fries were tasty as well. The fries were hot, crispy, and seasoned nicely. Everything was just plain delicious. In due course, Bostonia Public House is a satisfying restaurant with great clam chowder and lobster rolls. read more

My friend and I came on a Saturday for brunch before heading to an all day music festival. It just so happened to be her birthday so we decided to splurge and treat ourselves. I decided to order the short rib poutine and a side bourbon-glazed cinnamon roll. The short rib poutine was out of this world and the dish was so massive it was more than enough food for two meals. The Bourbon-glazed cinnamon roll was tasty, although a little dry. The service was friendly and attentive, and my friend's mom even called the restaurant and paid for our meal to surprise her for her birthday. Definitely a good brunch spot if you find yourself in the area. read more

Had a delicious lunch here last weekend! The food was amazing, and portions were great for lunch. Although definitely very seafood heavy, I opted for a hot chicken sandwich as my main and was not disappointed. My boyfriend also had great things to say about the clam chowder. We shared a half-dozen oysters, and they were extremely fresh. The service was a bit slow considering the place wasn't too busy, and our interactions with the hostesses and servers were a bit awkward--they didn't take much initiative to ask how we were doing (different vibe from many restaurants in the area). Went here for a team dinner after a busy day in office. We were able to be immediately sat and had an excellent service who was attentive and kind. The food was delicious. The autumn wedge is still in my thoughts almost three months later. The crab Rangoon dip - DO NOT skip it! Drooling thinking about going here again. Ambiance is excellent. This place is a perfect example of Bostonian dining! They offer a plethora of american comfort dishes that perfectly reflect their east coast environment. Located in the heart of downtown Boston, they're a short walk from Faneuil Hall, tucked in a beautifully historic looking corner that stays busy but never too crowded. Despite being prime lunch time on a weekend and having a pretty booked interior, we got seated right away and the service was generally quick and easy. Our table was upstairs next to the windows with a lovely view of the street. I've also sat outside on their patio, and both options have rejuvenating and exciting vibes to pair perfectly with your meal. This spot was a little pricey (but not anything too outrageous for the area), and the portions are generous so it's definitely worth it. Plus, the flavors and textures are pure perfection! It feels like whatever you order, you know exactly what you're going to get, it's going to be amazing every time. My salmon was tender and salty, balancing well with the lemon cream cheese and the umami bagel which had a deliciously fluffy interior. I love that they serve breakfast options so late into the afternoon, and that they still come out just as fresh and intentionally made as any other breakfast spot! Overall, whether you stop here for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the food here is sure to keep you going for the day or evening, giving you the energy and excitement you'd expect from any comfort dish. Great food! A little pricey but the quality is worth it. Server was very professional. The restaurant is beautiful. Clean, private bathrooms. They have really nice salads. We can for the fish and chips, ended up with a lovely cheese board. read more

We celebrated our daughter's 25th birthday by throwing a party at Bostonia Public House - one of her favorite restaurants in Boston. Events staff was great and worked to make sure all our allergy requirements were met. Food was fabulous, bar gave generous pours and the service from the waitstaff - SHOUT OUT TO JUSTIN - made it a night to remember. If you're looking for a venue to celebrate something special I would highly recommend you book at Bostonia. Their restaurant is also great for a night out to dinner too read more
