This review is a tough one for me because I loved Moxies so much after our first visit that we had to go back a second time. Dinner was truly unbelievable. We were seated immediately, the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and Sarah, our waitress, was top-notch--friendly, helpful, and genuinely delightful. We started with the Maple Glazed Brussels Sprouts, which were so yummy. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the Spicy Tuna Dynamite Roll and absolutely loved the Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert. I had the Vegetarian Power Bowl, and it was one of those meals you remember long after the trip is over. Since Moxies was just a few steps from our hotel, we thought it would be the perfect place for lunch before heading back to Arizona. We were offered a table inside or on the second-floor patio, and we chose the patio. Maybe that was our mistake. From the moment we sat down, it felt like a completely different restaurant. The atmosphere was very casual, but unfortunately so was the service. Our waitress was forgetful, clueless, and at times borderline disrespectful. Our food arrived completely cold after apparently sitting for over 30 minutes, yet there was no acknowledgment of the delay--not even a simple apology. I honestly couldn't believe this was the same place we had raved about the night before. If I were reviewing only our dinner, this would be an easy 5 stars. But I can't ignore what happened the next day. Maybe we were just unlucky. Maybe the patio has a different rhythm than the dining room. I really don't know. Came early on a Friday night with my 2 kids after researching family friendly restaurants near my hotel, wanted to try someplace I hadn't been before. Their menu online looked great and we were able to walk in with no reservations early on a Friday night, although they were starting to fill up more as we left. The crab cake was delish & my baby devoured most of it. The salmon salad was tasty but the salmon itself was very salty, salt was literally all I could taste. The lettuce was very crisp and fresh and everything else was good so I didn't feel the need to complain also with the consideration that the chef intended to make the salmon salty to pair with the rest of the dish. I really enjoyed the tuna crispy rice- though I wish it had been spicy. I was there during happy hour so got a few oysters - they took a while to come out but were super fresh and tasty! I had a mocktail aperol spritz which was excellent- very balanced and so close to the real thing! I had a great experience at Moxies. Our waitress, Alicia, was excellent and made a couple of really good recommendations throughout the evening. Service from her and the rest of the staff was great from start to finish. I had a sushi roll and the steak salad. The sushi was very good, but the steak salad was incredible and easily the highlight of the meal. Alicia also recommended the blackberry bourbon cocktail, which was excellent. The atmosphere was fun and lively without taking away from the meal, and the whole experience was better than I expected for a late dinner in the Seaport. Went to moxies for a birthday last night and the experience was subpar. Our waitress was great but the kitchen was extremely backed up and we didn't get our food for over an hour. They also took awhile to bring our drinks and we were outside upstairs but there were mice running around. This was the only place open at 10:30 pm Wednesday. It was surprisingly packed, Apparently there was a concert across the street so I could only find a spot at the upstairs bar. I found out the person performing was Lindsey Stirling. She puts on a really good show and I got to hear it free from rooftop patio area. I saw her perform at red rock amphitheater in Colorado and she's amazing! Also all the tallest ships in America were invited to Boston harbor for the 250th independence celebration. No wonder there were still so many people out! But I digress...back to the restaurant. I ordered the Mahi Mahi sandwich. It took a long time about 30 mins for the food to come out. But it came out fresh and it was so good. It also came with a side salad that was very tasty, light and refreshing with all the different types of fruits. The accompaniments went beyond the traditional mignonette - there was a second version (dark), freshly grated horseradish and cocktail sauce. We went for a date night for Dine Out Boston. While the deal isn't as great as it seems given the desserts are miniature, I'm glad we tried it. The vibes are great here - fancier (but not too fancy) and not too loud. Great cocktail and mocktail options. Probably the best bruschetta I've had in Boston with the whipped feta spread!! The only issue we felt was we were a group of 2 and were seated in a tight space. That said, Moxies Boston Seaport missed the mark for me when it came to the apps and entrée. I ordered the calamari, which I'm pretty particular about, but I spent most of the time trying to figure out if it was real or imitation. As a pescatarian, that's something you really want to be sure about when ordering. I also got the Beyond Burger with truffle fries the fries were excellent, but the burger was just okay. We saw this restaurant on the Seaport and decided to skip out on the last act of our concert across the street. They have a lovely patio that overlooks the water so we had to pop it. The entrance has a grand staircase, clean lines to the host station where we were greeted by a bubbly young person who escorted us to the beautiful dining area away from the hustling at the bar. Our server was kind and professional. We ordered still water, chocolate martini on the rocks, rose sangria and a Shirley Temple. The crostini bread with garlic butter was crunchy and hot. Mango Cajun chicken with rice, carrots, and string beans was perfectly seasoned with a great kick. The calamari (ordered with the spicy peppers on the side) was fried to a golden crisp along with a side of exquisitely salted hand-cut fries. The restaurant is very lively and it's a pretty fun place to be if you're looking to hang out with friends. The food is also pretty good and the portions are large. So I came all the way to Boston from San Diego to find out that great breakfast food does exist. I ordered the Pancetta Bacon and Aged White Cheddar Cheese with poached eggs plus coffee. My first surprise was that the home fries that came with my breakfast were not only perfectly seasoned, they were actually piping hot! That was a wonderful surprise. As I dug into my breakfast my taste buds experienced nirvana as the pancetta bacon and age white cheddar cheese with the perfectly poached eggs were dwelling harmoniously with a lovely hollandaise sauce. YUMMY! There was fresh slices of watermelon, pineapple and an orange topped with a strawberry. The saddest part of my meal was the strawberry, but I ate it anyway. Came here just before New Years Eve on a quiet Tuesday night. The kitchen was open late and we were able to get two seats at the bar. Ordered the steak frites with a side of mashed potatoes to make the meal more gluten free. They can't guarantee against cross contamination but it was 9:45pm and I was starving. Our waitress was super friendly and the service was fast, which made the whole experience really easy and enjoyable. We shared a few dishes. The tacos were definitely my favorite. They were fresh, flavorful, and came with delicious toppings and sauces. The fries were also really good: crispy, cheesy, and came in a big portion. Both of those dishes were satisfying and felt like a good value for the price. I didn't love the calamari. It kind of looked like tater tots and didn't have the crispy texture I was expecting. It wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't order it again. Overall, we had a great time. The food was tasty, the portions were huge, and the service was great.
