That said, Moxies Boston Seaport missed the mark for me when it came to the apps and entrée. I ordered the calamari, which I'm pretty particular about, but I spent most of the time trying to figure out if it was real or imitation. As a pescatarian, that's something you really want to be sure about when ordering. I also got the Beyond Burger with truffle fries the fries were excellent, but the burger was just okay. Came here for an event and was amazed by the classy but cozy ambiance, the stellar food, and the great service. Event was on the second floor, which had huge window walls that I imagine allow for a great view of the water (event was at night, so unfortunately not able to see outside very well, but during the day must be amazing). Came here just before New Years Eve on a quiet Tuesday night. The kitchen was open late and we were able to get two seats at the bar. Ordered the steak frites with a side of mashed potatoes to make the meal more gluten free. They can't guarantee against cross contamination but it was 9:45pm and I was starving. We saw this restaurant on the Seaport and decided to skip out on the last act of our concert across the street. They have a lovely patio that overlooks the water so we had to pop it. The entrance has a grand staircase, clean lines to the host station where we were greeted by a bubbly young person who escorted us to the beautiful dining area away from the hustling at the bar. Our server was kind and professional. We ordered still water, chocolate martini on the rocks, rose sangria and a Shirley Temple. The crostini bread with garlic butter was crunchy and hot. Mango Cajun chicken with rice, carrots, and string beans was perfectly seasoned with a great kick. The calamari (ordered with the spicy peppers on the side) was fried to a golden crisp along with a side of exquisitely salted hand-cut fries. So I came all the way to Boston from San Diego to find out that great breakfast food does exist. I ordered the Pancetta Bacon and Aged White Cheddar Cheese with poached eggs plus coffee. My first surprise was that the home fries that came with my breakfast were not only perfectly seasoned, they were actually piping hot! That was a wonderful surprise. As I dug into my breakfast my taste buds experienced nirvana as the pancetta bacon and age white cheddar cheese with the perfectly poached eggs were dwelling harmoniously with a lovely hollandaise sauce. YUMMY! There was fresh slices of watermelon, pineapple and an orange topped with a strawberry. The saddest part of my meal was the strawberry, but I ate it anyway. They were fresh, flavorful, and came with delicious toppings and sauces. The fries were also really good: crispy, cheesy, and came in a big portion. Both of those dishes were satisfying and felt like a good value for the price. I didn't love the calamari. It kind of looked like tater tots and didn't have the crispy texture I was expecting. On a recent work trip, I had to arrange a dinner for 8 people, and I also needed to be sure there were vegan options (for myself.) I searched for hours and finally settled on Moxies. It turned out to be a great choice. Moxie's has a separate section of their menu that pulls out all of their vegetarian and vegan options. There are both start and main's available. I was very happy with what I chose: vegan gyoza, lettuce wraps, and a mushroom zen bowl. I'm not always a huge fan of mushrooms, but the sauce in the bowl was great. Beyond the food, the space is quite large and the service was great. The server was attentive, friendly, and knew when to give us space to chat with ourselves. I would recommend for groups, but also for more intimate dinners. read more

Food is delicious here and staff is very attentive and accommodating. I am gluten free celiac and the menu has clearly marked gluten free options. I started with the tuna ceviche stack and got it gluten free, it was very flavorful and a great starter. My sister got the steak bites, she's absolutely obsessed with them and this was the main reason she wanted to come back to this restaurant. I couldn't try them as they're not gluten free but they do seem worth an order if you're able to have them. I got a full rack of baby back ribs that were prepared gluten free as well. The manager brings out an allergy orders so I always knew my food was safe. The full rack of ribs is really delicious and I would absolutely get it again. For dessert I had the Mile high mocha pie, this literally is gigantic so it's absolutely something to share with a table. It's ice cream so you can't take it home. It's absolutely amazing and I'm so glad I can have a gluten free dessert like that. Cocktails were tasty, we liked the rosé sangria the best! There are multiple levels to the restaurant and we were seated on the upper level and had a beautiful view of the Seaport area. My server was Nicole, she was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. I had the salmon cobb salad. The portion size was very generous, I had enough to bring home. This place is more a discotheque with a food equation and I know loud as I work as a DJ for several years. The music was so loud than you can barely hold a conversation, which is not cool. The restaurant is divided into a bar with large TV screens and a sit down zone. But clearly the music carries to the sitting area. Now the food was really good. Their clam shower is delicious and their steak bites are also great. Their Mango chicken is an original recipe that is well executed! Moxie's a great place to go for a night out in Seaport. I've been here a total of about three times, one just for drinks and apps, once with a group, and once on the balcony/rooftop. I loved the rooftop experience (I would recommend this for groups if you're going to order a lot of drinks/food, but if you're just going to hang out, it's not that vibe). They have really great cocktails especially there's espresso martini. You can hear concerts across the street which is such a nice perk. I would say that the entrees unfortunately are not my favorite, but they are pretty good. The bruschetta with ricotta app is so good. As are the 1 pound nachos. read more

The food was really good and the service was friendly and efficient. We enjoyed everything we had, and the portions were ample. For us, the issue was the ridiculously loud music playing throughout the space and making conversation difficult, at best. I've been to concerts that weren't this loud. The bar was hopping and judging the crowd, the music fit that space perfectly. But, as a dining space on the other side, it would definitely make me think twice about a return visit. Maybe lunchtime would be a different story?? They have a surprisingly good selection of wine and tap beer. Beware, however, the listed prices didn't match the bill. We were charged $39 for a glass of wine listed at $26. They were awesome about fixing it, but double-check your bill before paying. We went here for dinner after going to SnowPort down in the Seaport area during the Christmas holiday season. We had a fairly early reservation and the restaurant was not extremely full. We were asked if we wanted to sit downstairs which was extremely loud or if we wanted to sit upstairs, that would be significantly less noisy. We chose option two, which was to sit upstairs. The upstairs of the restaurant has its own bar as well as bathrooms in the back corner and an elevator if needed to take you up and down. This restaurant has many options for those individuals that are into a plant-based diet, which was one of the factors for choosing the restaurant based on my daughter's needs for dairy free food. Our server was beyond clueless on the menu and even struggled with understanding drinks. This is the largest drawback for us during the course of the meal. When we asked her what hot teas she had, her eyes lit up in fear, having no clue and saying she'd have to try and find out where the tea was kept. I assume that she is a brand new employee who is not properly trained, which is unfortunate because at the end of the day that cost them money in tips because it provides for a lower quality of service than expected. Food was pretty good and I would consider going back here again, but need to take into account if you go during peak hour this is an extremely loud restaurant even with the high ceilings that it has. read more

We ordered the burgers and fries, which were really good, and the atmosphere was great until a moment that left a sour taste. When some patrons returned excited about the inauguration, the bartender began agreeing and sharing her political views openly. While patrons discussing politics is their prerogative, it's highly inappropriate for staff to join in and bring such topics into the dining experience. Guests should be able to enjoy their meal without politics or personal opinions being forced into the conversation.
