What a perfect location this restaurant is in. You can walk to everything. After consuming quite a few pastries around Boston,, I was really looking for something healthy. This restaurant provided me one of the tastiest kale salads that I have ever had a very light dressing. Very fresh and delicious. I ate every bite. The burger was delicious. As well as the Aji tuna. This trendy restaurant near the pier has a very eclectic menu, with Sushi, steak, seafood and Italian dishes all in one place. A good drink menu including mocktails round up Moxies as a great dinner spot for a business dinner, drinks after work or a night out on the town. We ordered a seafood platter for the table, some other appetizers including potstickers and burrata. Both delicious. The seafood platter included clams, oysters, crab meat, lobster, marinated ahi tuna, and shrimp. Everything was fresh and delicious. For my entree I ordered the baby back ribs. They were delicious and falling off the bone tender. The mashed potatoes were good and the carrots and green beans were ok. A bit salty and nothing inspired or special as a side dish. Overall a good option to check out while in the Seaport area. Great services attentive servers and a good spot for large groups. Make sure to check your bill. We went to Moxie's before attending a concert at Leader Bank Pavilion. I think everyone there that evening was probably doing the same as it was a huge nor'easter and the rain was relentless. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries and a Downeast cider. The cider was definitely the best part of my meal. The burger had very little taste and the fries were either really soggy or tiny and crispy. Not sure if I did something to annoy the kitchen, but it felt like I got the bottom of the barrel. :) The ambiance was buzzy and energetic lots of patrons sharing stories about prior concerts by the artist performing that night. Our server was kind but seemed a little overwhelmed- I had to ask for water refills and he came to ask how everything was before we'd taken a bite. Moxies is incredibly convenient for a meal and/or drinks prior to a concert at Leader Bank Pavilion, so we joined our fellow concert goers in this lively, energetic, modern space. While the location and space is great, our dining experience was mediocre. The house-made clam chowder has very good flavor, but it was incredibly salty with a thin broth for a chowder - it could have used more clams and potatoes. To go with the chowder, we shared the Super Greens salad. While I really enjoyed this salad, including the white balsamic vinaigrette, it seemed to be missing some key ingredients listed on the menu. There was no sign of any seeds or quinoa in the salad, and a sparse amount of avocado and strawberries. A good lettuce salad, but it didn't meet the hype of the description (or price $17). Similar to the salad, the menu description for the Loaded Cheeseburger simply didn't match what we received. The burger was supposed to have sautéed onions, but it had sliced raw red onion instead. "Loaded" feels like a setup for disappointment, as there was a scant amount of cheese and bacon on this dry burger patty. Despite not being particularly crispy, I liked the fresh cut French fries, which were mostly small pieces (~one inch) best eaten with a fork. Our server did a nice job, though may have been a bit overwhelmed. Our food arrived before we even received water or had silverware, which we had to request. Oh well. At least we were out of there on time to enjoy the concert across the street, which was awesome! read more

Had the opportunity to try Moxie's poutine at the PoutineFest- it was my favorite. It was a cold day so we walked over to the restaurant to warm up. Great service-the manager was working at the PoutineFest- she pulled out her phone and made us a reservation on the fly. Nice. We shared the brioche bites-yummy! Recommended by the manager. I had a tasty hot bowl of clam chowder. Food and service were excellent. Our server was attentive but not intrusive as my friend and I chatted. It was 1245pm on a Sat- I was impressed that they had brunch plus their entire menu available. Menu is extensive. So many great options. Many mocktails plus down east cider on tap. Several large groups dining there. Space was comfy- bar had a number of TV's. We'll be back the next time we attend a concert in the Seaport. read more

This review is a tough one for me because I loved Moxies so much after our first visit that we had to go back a second time. Dinner was truly unbelievable. We were seated immediately, the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and Sarah, our waitress, was top-notch--friendly, helpful, and genuinely delightful. We started with the Maple Glazed Brussels Sprouts, which were so yummy. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the Spicy Tuna Dynamite Roll and absolutely loved the Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert. I had the Vegetarian Power Bowl, and it was one of those meals you remember long after the trip is over. Since Moxies was just a few steps from our hotel, we thought it would be the perfect place for lunch before heading back to Arizona. We were offered a table inside or on the second-floor patio, and we chose the patio. Maybe that was our mistake. From the moment we sat down, it felt like a completely different restaurant. The atmosphere was very casual, but unfortunately so was the service. Our waitress was forgetful, clueless, and at times borderline disrespectful. Our food arrived completely cold after apparently sitting for over 30 minutes, yet there was no acknowledgment of the delay--not even a simple apology. I honestly couldn't believe this was the same place we had raved about the night before. If I were reviewing only our dinner, this would be an easy 5 stars. But I can't ignore what happened the next day. Maybe we were just unlucky. Maybe the patio has a different rhythm than the dining room. I really don't know. Came early on a Friday night with my 2 kids after researching family friendly restaurants near my hotel, wanted to try someplace I hadn't been before. Their menu online looked great and we were able to walk in with no reservations early on a Friday night, although they were starting to fill up more as we left. The crab cake was delish & my baby devoured most of it. The salmon salad was tasty but the salmon itself was very salty, salt was literally all I could taste. The lettuce was very crisp and fresh and everything else was good so I didn't feel the need to complain also with the consideration that the chef intended to make the salmon salty to pair with the rest of the dish. We stopped by Moxies for dinner and drinks Saturday night and ended up sitting outside since it was so nice out. They were able to accommodate our party of 8. I'm a big fan of lychee martinis, but felt theirs was too sweet for me. I ordered the Caesar salad and a cup of clam chowder. The bread that came with the salad was slightly burnt. Went to moxies for a birthday last night and the experience was subpar. Our waitress was great but the kitchen was extremely backed up and we didn't get our food for over an hour. They also took awhile to bring our drinks and we were outside upstairs but there were mice running around. The lack of higher stars may be due to lunch or dinner experiences, but just getting drinks and apps from a long flight made this one of the best places to start our evening. The Potsticker appetizers were incredible and the quantity was perfect for what we wanted. Had to amend review.... If customer service was a test then I have to mention 2 other amazing individuals.... Chris who provided local information and suggested the Fisherman's Feast to get to know some history behind the celebration as well as making us 2 of his recommended "Old Fashions" and also Lorin who made my wife her special "Strawberry Milkshake" shot.... This was the only place open at 10:30 pm Wednesday. It was surprisingly packed, Apparently there was a concert across the street so I could only find a spot at the upstairs bar. I found out the person performing was Lindsey Stirling. She puts on a really good show and I got to hear it free from rooftop patio area. I saw her perform at red rock amphitheater in Colorado and she's amazing! Also all the tallest ships in America were invited to Boston harbor for the 250th independence celebration. No wonder there were still so many people out! But I digress...back to the restaurant. I ordered the Mahi Mahi sandwich. It took a long time about 30 mins for the food to come out. But it came out fresh and it was so good. It also came with a side salad that was very tasty, light and refreshing with all the different types of fruits. I could taste apple, strawberries, blueberries. The price wasn't bad considering the area and the quality of food. Busy enviroment with great food! My chicken rigatoni looked small but was very flavorful and filling with savoryness to the meet against sharpness in the cheese. The accompaniments went beyond the traditional mignonette - there was a second version (dark), freshly grated horseradish and cocktail sauce. I had a great experience at Moxies. Our waitress, Alicia, was excellent and made a couple of really good recommendations throughout the evening. Service from her and the rest of the staff was great from start to finish. I had a sushi roll and the steak salad. The sushi was very good, but the steak salad was incredible and easily the highlight of the meal. Alicia also recommended the blackberry bourbon cocktail, which was excellent. The atmosphere was fun and lively without taking away from the meal, and the whole experience was better than I expected for a late dinner in the Seaport. That said, Moxies Boston Seaport missed the mark for me when it came to the apps and entrée. I ordered the calamari, which I'm pretty particular about, but I spent most of the time trying to figure out if it was real or imitation. We saw this restaurant on the Seaport and decided to skip out on the last act of our concert across the street. They have a lovely patio that overlooks the water so we had to pop it. The entrance has a grand staircase, clean lines to the host station where we were greeted by a bubbly young person who escorted us to the beautiful dining area away from the hustling at the bar. Our server was kind and professional. We ordered still water, chocolate martini on the rocks, rose sangria and a Shirley Temple. The crostini bread with garlic butter was crunchy and hot. Mango Cajun chicken with rice, carrots, and string beans was perfectly seasoned with a great kick. The calamari (ordered with the spicy peppers on the side) was fried to a golden crisp along with a side of exquisitely salted hand-cut fries. The food was amazing. Filet cooked to perfection and steak frites as well. The drinks were tasty. I was not impressed with the hostess situation or our waitress. Our hostess was super kind, but as she walked us to our table, another hostess from downstairs who had sent us up, came barreling up and sat another couple right at the exact table that our hostess was going to sit us. It was a nice intimate table and perfect deck view. Our hostess had to pivot and brought us to a table big enough for 6, at the back side of the deck, right in front of the bussing station. Our hostess felt really bad, but it wasn't her fault. The waitress was rather rude about my choice of words and eyed my husband as if to say, "sorry you're with this chick." Had to flag someone down again for the check - and then they dropped it at the table and left even though we had our credit card in hand. Then there was no one for another 10+ minutes so I had to go to the front desk to ask to have our card processed. We spent more time trying to pay to leave than we did eating.
