Our group of 12 came to end our Martha's Vineyard weekend trip. For beverages a lot of the ladies got the peach tea lemonade they all enjoyed and said it was refreshing. I had the tropic like it's got its was so good!! 9/10 the other ladies had the queen b and they loved it. Three of us ordered the French toast. I ordered mine without the peach marmalade and specifically asked if it would actually come out as an appetizer because we hadn't eaten all day and I don't like when places bring your app and meal together. the first one they brought out as an app was given to my friends at the other end of the table. They brought out half the tables food about 3 mins before the rest. I got my entree first. When they finally brought my French toast it was covered in hot peaches etc. they took it back no problem. This was by far the worst birthday meal I've ever had. I made a reservation specifically for the birthday breakfast buffet advertised on the website, only to be told upon arrival that they no longer offered it. No one communicated this change before my reservation. The worst part of the experience was the waiter. His attitude and behavior made an already disappointing situation even worse. Instead of making me feel welcomed on my birthday, I felt uncomfortable and completely disregarded as a customer. The manager also approached me in a way that made me feel like I was somehow at fault for being disappointed about not receiving what I had reserved. Friday night date, and we decided to enjoy some live music. The environment was great! Swanky, nice little vibe, and pretty busy. A reservation is highly recommended. We were seated promptly. We also ordered the fried chicken meal and a side of fries. Fries were good and the biscuit was delicious! The chicken...not so much. No flavor throughout the chicken at all! Finally got to experience Grace by Nia via an impromptu visit and it was quite the evening. As soon as you enter this bar the decor in is filled with gold palm trees and chandeliers giving it a Vegas feel. This place is very intimate and definitely fitting for date night. The performer of the evening was really good singing songs like 'loyalty' by Kendrick Lamar but still keeping it jazzy and moody. The crowd was also very interactive forming a dance train throughout the main floor and grabbing people as they went. It was all around fun! Unfortunately, the kitchen closed by the time we got there so I wasn't able to try any of their dishes however I ordered a French 75 which was made well. There was a consistency in that deliciousness which in my opinion is hard to obtain and what a lot of restaurants struggle with. My favorites were the grits, the catfish and the banana pudding. Seriously, I said the banana pudding was so great like 5 times. It was soft, warm and delicious. The brunch buffet is 55p per person and includes a welcome mimosa which is nice! I've been to Grace by Nia several times now and think that it has already established itself as a signature establishment in Seaport. From the thoughtfully designed dining room area to the live music performances, it stands out compared to plenty of places nearby. On my most recent visit, we came for Sunday brunch. We had a great table near the front, with a perfect view to the live entertainment. There was a band featuring a soulful singer named Antoinette, who was from Texas and brought some southern soul! We decided to have a carbfest, starting with the biscuits. They have FANTASTIC chicken & apple sausage in a spicy peach sauce! Get. The. Chicken.&. Apple. Sausage! Easily one of the best dishes I've had anywhere recently. The red velvet pancakes were cool but weren't huge on the red velvet taste. They also have nice cocktails with some inventive ingredients. Boston has grown so much since I left the area in 2009. I've been hearing amazing things about Grace by Nia and made it a point to come in while in town and during their 1 year anniversary. I was nervous about coming solo so I called first and was encouraged to come early and sit at the bar. The restaurant is beautiful and a great place for intimate gatherings or romantic nights. I had the Jam session which was really nice, I also had the wings. Major plus that they were able to give me mostly flats for the wings. The band was amazing and sang some soulful hits. Had a reservation to see live music, I was seated near the front door and could not see the stage/performers *at all*. Not because it was crowded, but because there is no direct line of sight. But without seeing a performance or trying any of the menu, this was just a complete waste of my time. If you have time grab yourself some tea because I am about to spill the deets of my time at this establishment. My initial visit was for a friend's birthday, and I had expected a vibe of R&B and blues. I was also told that Wednesdays featured open mic night, but on 7/31, it turned out to be a poetry slam, which was a surprise. She informed us that the bar was backed up when we ordered drinks. The appetizers were decent, but we had issues with our main course. I specifically requested four orders of the Cajun pasta, but what we received was only one plate. Despite emphasizing our order, the waitress did not check back with us, and we had to follow up with the host and another waitress after a 20 minute wait. Additionally, my two friends were disappointed with their Caribbean Coolers. When they voiced their feedback, I was asked if I liked my drink, which felt unnecessary and surprising, as taste is subjective. Although she did remove the drinks from the bill, the question seemed out of place. Overall, this visit was a stark contrast to my first experience.
