Tried the fried pickles, curley burger, and the short rib poutine. Service was great, there was an issue with our receipt and the server was very nice to fix it for us. It's a pretty lively bar, we had an easy time finding a spot for two on a Friday. Food was yummy in general. The poutine was excessively salty though, it hurt to eat. I loved the fried pickles and the burger
Had another great evening before the theater. Made reservations online but their online website was not working on my phone. I called twice at 4:45 pm but no answer. Went on my laptop and got it working, little annoying. We came in and were brought straight to our seats. They had happy hour but they didn't tell us or give us the menu for it, I asked and got the food. I had a beer and my friend had a wonderful cocktail. The food was really great! As always, great to come here.
Could this be my new pregame spot...? Espresso martinis are fantastic. Not creamy, perfectly strong and exactly what I needed. Note the online menu includes vanilla rum in it but the in house menu doesn't :(. Didn't get any food but everything that was brought out to people around us looked delicious. Music was a bit too loud but wasn't much of a bother and bartenders are quick. I would definitely come back.
When I heard Wig Shop had a sister bar next door, this was not quite what I was expecting, but I'm into it! Much more of a casual neighborhood whiskey bar (kind of a dude's bar, if I can say that with no disrespect) with surprisingly decent prices for the area. Milano Sour was good, but the Fernet does come through pretty strong. Fried pickles were fine, pretty non-descript. It's neither the best food nor the best drinks in the area, but really decent of both with a great vibe and friendly unpretentious service. (If you're looking for the best fancy cocktails, Wig Shop does have the edge.) Bonus: check out Bogie's Place, the reservation-only steakhouse hidden in between the two!
Found this place while looking for late night food in Boston. Luckily they serve food until 1:30am, however it's a limited late night menu. We ordered rangoon's for the app, and the late night curly burgers for our entrees. Food was decent, but wasn't the best ever. I did enjoy my blue comet beer though. Our server was attentive and food didn't take too long to come out, considering this place was pretty busy for 1am. They were also playing loud heavy rock music so it was pretty fun, although maybe a little too loud...
Score is solely based on the food The cocktails were very yummy and the staff was attentive and great. As for the food, we got fried pickles. The ones that were fried crispy and not soggy were delicious, but there were a lot that weren't fried all the way making it not as good. Per the recommendation of the waiter, we got the heaven hill burger - I personally thought there was no flavor, and the bacon was just too fatty and greasy (they're thick pieces), but my fiance thought it did. I got their version of the KFC famous bowl. The ingredients tasted very fresh, but again, no flavor. It was so bland, I had to ask for hot sauce for it to make it more palatable. It was like they didn't even add salt. Overall, I don't know if I'd come back for the food, but the drinks and vibe were great!
Excellent drink Bangarang made by our skilled bartender Olivia!! Absolutely must recommend coming to this bar and trying this drink. Ambiance is great. Music is fine Crowd is lively. Service is super quick and the bartenders are crazy skilful making delicious drinks in a jiffy. French fries are not good. My hubby and I absolutely loved it and enjoyed our time here.
Came for the burger, will come back for the burger. It was super juicy and had tons of pickles and caramelized onions. Only complaint is that the juiciness from the burger made the bun soggy, but if you eat it fast enough that's not a problem! I got the side salad instead of fries, and I loved it as well. I normally don't like red onions, but they were super mild and not very fragrant. The salad had a nice vinegar dressing, so it paired well with the heaviness of the burger. Service was a little slow at the bar, but understandable because it was super busy when we went in. It was super loud inside though, so be wary that conversations will feel like yelling. Next time we'll try the drinks too!
I used to love this place but the service and cocktails have gone downhill. We asked three times for straws - never got them. Our drinks took forever and were meh. The outdoor patio is cool but expect to see your server once every 30 minutes. No water refills, etc. The trash truck came through while we were eating outside which smelled like we were eating rotten eggs. We also had to ask for the check 2-3 times.
Wife and I were in Boston for a few days wrapping up a Fall roadtrip. Found this place close to our Airbnb and it was a great "last meal" before going home. I got the Curley Burger and my wife got the jmC Famous Bowl. Both were awesome! The fries that came with the burger were good too. Service was very good as well + the atmosphere was lively. Really good experience!
Swung by with a girlfriend for a pre-show meal. We each had espresso martinis and a couple beers. They have duchesse, which is my FAVORITE BEER so I was excited. The espresso martinis were free from dairy and made with borghetti, absolutely delightful. The bartenders were friendly and seemed to all enjoy each others company, which led to a really cozy comfortable atmosphere. The candles lit behind the bar were really nice too! The tartare toast and Brussel sprouts were incredible filling and well made appetizers. I recommend both for sharing! Really nice night with quick and attentive service and a reasonable bill!
We just got in late from a long flight. We luckily found this place. We were greeted right away when we came in and sat promptly. The menu was limited since it was already late. My wife and I ordered the burger. It was delicious! The beef patty was flavorful and juicy. The fries were great too! Customer service was on point. Overall, glad we found this place and food was delicious. The price was appropriate as well.

Great late night eats. Popcorn chicken cooked perfectly. Friendly service. Especially considering the late hour, felt like a hidden gem. read more

Came here for dinner on a weekday- we easily got a table. The waiters were very attentive and service was perfect! I got the burger- it wasn't anything special but I did really enjoy the fries. The chicken sandwich was very good though. I liked that the tables weren't too close together and the lighting was cozy but still bright enough. read more

Very tasty breakfast! Highly recommend the crunch wrap or steak and eggs. Service was great too. The young dude with the cool long hair provided us not only great service but tourist directions for our journey. We'll be back before we leave. read more

Very cool atmosphere, not too loud, but busy and full of energy. The waiting staff was pleasant and knew their menu well. Drinks where both flavorful and nice and strong, and the food was very good. I have to say I reaaaally loved the wings. Delicious! read more

The food was exceptional! The wings were a decent size but heavily battered which was not bad. It also came with carrots and celery. The espresso martinis were okay I didn't taste much coffee or alcohol. It tasted more like hot chocolate. The atmosphere was cozy and they turn off the lights later in the night so it can get very dark in there. Overall, great experience and would come back! read more

Its always a great ambiance here! I like that its open late and the service is usually pretty chill and just ok. Food wise during my last visit everything was drenched in salt which made it hard to eat. A year ago i would of said the food was great. Not sure if it was an off night or not but it was barely edible. read more

Hipster dive bar with bar food... beverage choices were strong, food was filling and tasty, and ambiance is great. But the PRICES are absurd. $20+ for burgers and sandwiches. It's unfortunate because the burger was quite delicious - well cooked, great seasoning, and good sauce (aioli is what they call it now?). But my wallet hurts. Service was friendly overall and accommodating. I have to go with 4 stars here because it's a quality experience but at this price point I can't justify 5 stars. read more

Not for me. Fine, it was a busy Friday night, but I just wanted a good burger after seeing patients all day. The whole night felt chaotic and like we were inconveniencing the staff by just being there. Our waiter came over to take our drink order, someone else brought it to our table and when we cleared space for it, he stood there annoyed that he didn't know whose it was and gave us a look like we were stupid for not claiming it. Way too much time passed before we had to wave our waiter down to take our food order. Maybe they assumed we only wanted drinks, still odd to not check in a little more in such a small restaurant. Fried pickles - straight batter, really disappointing Curley mac - we added buffalo chicken, very okay but a little dry Fish and chips - greasy, potatoes come out cold (like literally cold as if they'd come out of the freezer and tossed in a pan for a minute), never mind the fact that their "steak fries" are potato wedges Burger - the only thing worth ordering on their food menu. It's really simple with not much too it, but it's just a very solid burger. Wouldn't really call them "shoe-string fries" but they're still yummy Nashville hot fried chicken sando - not really that hot, but probably second best after their burger It's a weird vibe for sure, too loud, Lord of the Rings playing on the screen behind the bar, and rude staff. It's a shame since I live close by, but I don't think I'll be back to dine in person. If you do decide to give it a try, make a reservation to avoid some wild wait times and know that parking is very limited in the area read more

We came here as it was along the path bath to our hotel. I wanted to have a quick drink. We sat at the bar counter and had some small chat with the bartender. He was pretty nice and made me an old fashioned. I also asked if their other side was open. The other gentleman came over and said it was and allowed us to go there. Overall, it's a pretty chill place with nice people. read more

First time trying this place and I chose it because of the reasonable price drinks, the well rounded menu and the quality of the decorations. I love the vibe you get when you walk in. The service was quick, it could have been a bit friendlier but being from Texas everyone could be a bit friendlier haha! Definitely would love to come back and try some more things! My boyfriend and I got a quick drink and appetizer at the bar so didn't have to wait for a table read more

We came here looking for just a bathroom and a quick drink and ended up staying for a couple and food. The ambiance is really nice - dimly lit and not too loud. The bartender and other staff were all very friendly. To drink I had their old fashioned which was really good. My wife got the B&T which was really fresh and nice. We had fried pickles to start which were delicious. For entrees we had the Crunchwrap, which basically tasted like a Taco Bell Crunchwrap, just not as heavy on the sour cream. The bbq bacon burger was good, but again tasted similar to a Carl's Jr western bacon cheeseburger to me. read more
We came here on a Saturday night before a concert at the Orpheum. Made a reservation a couple days before. Solid choice for good food and good vibes before a night out!! My friend loved her espresso martini. The mac and cheese was phenomenal - the breadcrumbs added a nice texture crunch. Our server was fantastic- super nice and accommodating. She went above and beyond to make sure our experience was a good one. We even went back for a drink after the concert!! Highly recommend. read more
