Came here after Beacon Hill Art walk - Harvard Gardens Burger was one of the best burgers I've had. Tender meat and bacon aioli was amazing. Tator tots piping hot and crispy. Perfectly toasted - Caesar salad was well dressed and great - Prosciutto fig pizza was a bit burnt. Was on the sweet side of things - Kids Mac and cheese was ok Good place to get a bite read more

We stopped here to watch the football game and have dinner. There are many TVs so it's a great spot to watch sports. We ordered the nachos which I highly recommend. They are piled high with cheese, guac, sour cream, jalapeños, onions, etc. For entrees, we went with the Reuben sandwich which was so flavorful, and the grilled chicken sandwich. The grilled chicken was a bit dry, but the sweet potato fries were good. The service was not the friendliest as once we paid and left her a tip (over 20%) she never said thank you? Everything else was great so I recommend eating here. read more

Upon arrival we discovered they only serve breakfast on Sundays which was kind of a bummer, but we glanced over their menu and the rest seemed good. I got the fish tacos with sweet potato fries and my boyfriend got the fish sandwich with a cesar salad. He really liked his fish sandwich, he said it was a fresh piece of fish. My tacos were alright, I'm picky with fish tacos and I will say I've had better. These felt like I was at a pub or bar but they were okay. I do love the interior and he highly recommends their breakfast so we'll have to come on a Sunday morning and I'll give it another try. read more

My friends and I dropped in for a quick, casual bite before the fireworks this Fourth of July. It was quite busy because of the holiday, but was quickly seated. I split the beacon hill cheeseburger with a friend and they gave it to us perfectly cut with equal amount of fries which was great! My other friend had the chicken wrap and she noted that it was yummy and flavorful, but a bit too saucy. Another friend had the bang bang shrimp and said that she would have preferred the sauce being already mixed in instead of being beneath the fried shrimp. Overall it was a good experience, but nothing super notable. It's good for a quick bite with friends and our waiter was really nice so I give it a 3.5/5. read more

Walked in since ma maison had no available seats. After checking in on Yelp a 15% coupon popped up! We got the truffle Mac. This was actually fantastic. Served two people, peas in it were excellent, the truffle was tasteful and delicious. Dish didn't need anything else, normally I find I like my Mac with more salt and pepper. Two drinks, sat at the bar, had a great time. This is not some cutesy botanical place, that is why I initially thought looking at the sign. Ambience is like a clean and upgraded boston sports bar pub type thing. read more

Definitely recommend trying this pub out. The service is quick and I've never had a bad meal here. It is small so make a reservation or be prepared to wait. They do have TV's so definitely a great place to stop by if there's a game on. read more

My family and I had an excellent experience at Harvard Gardens last Friday night! Lively atmosphere, friendly and efficient service and absolutely fresh, deliciously made burgers (along with lots of other great eats!). The manager was involved and helpful, semi-open kitchen was immaculate, and the staff seemed to genuinely like one another = wonderful experience for guests! And definitely try one of the best burgers ever! read more

Wanted to like this place more. We made a large party resy for July 4 so we were grateful that they were able to take us. Kind of a dive bar and grill vibe inside. Kind service throughout. Menu was a little all over the place, but prices were reasonable. Classic America fare, with some vegetarian options. I agree with the previous elite who said it was just nothing special but also totally fine. read more

We returned here again for farewell party to one of our colleague. Party of 8. I'm surprised that there's no pulled pork burger in their menu, but I settled for HG burger and it was delicious. Service was fast and their Black Widow's bite is tasty. Looking forward to dine here in near future!! read more

Excellent customer service . Made my birthday extra special. Delicious food . Recommend this place yo everyone

I visit here after work. it's just a 10 minute walk and it's enjoyable. Yesterday, I ordered the chicken piccata since they removed the chicken parm from the menu (without my permission! ) The chicken piccata sauce was delicious and garlic bread was a good accompaniment. The only ding was the chicken. It could have benefited from a breading of some kind since the taste was kind of bland. I could easily have drank the sauce. It was that good. I had a coco rum and it went down easily. That sauce, though. Don't change a thing! Adelaide gave very good service. She was attentive and also remembered my to go order of a Reuben sandwich for my dad. The ambiance? The place itself is full of history. It's near MGH and doctors and interns are rumored to eat there. I'll try to visit more often than I have been. Kayleigh, the bartender, was missing yesterday but I'll forgive her this time! read more

Great food and great environment! Servers were very friendly + our food and drinks came fast!!

Loved it!!!! First trip to Boston and stayed in an Airbnb on Anderson Street. Service- friendly and fast! Food- scrumptious truffle fries and ahi tuna bowl + the fish and chips. All made to perfection and reasonably priced. The energetic vibe was the icing on the cake. read more

This is an awesome spot to hang out for a quick bite and drink after work. The staff is incredibly friendly and the service is pretty fast. It's not a fancy restaurant and bar by any means but it has all the necessities, high top tables, coat hooks, big bar, and groups seating areas. The food itself is good. My friends and I opted for chicken tenders, fries, and a hummus platter of sort. The food was fresh and tasty! read more

My husband and I had the steakhouse burger and Harvard gardens burger (medium rare) and holy shit these things blew us away. They were prob the best burgers we have ever had and we are food snobs. Will prob dream of them now lol. Can't say the same about the dessert. The crème brûlée was horrible and barely edible. Also servers weren't overly friendly..none of the staff seemed very inviting. but would come back over and over for those burgers! read more

Stopped in for a drink, but the bar was completely packed and our group couldn't get anywhere near it. So, we asked if we could still get a table and just get drinks because it was a little later in the evening. They said no, so he started to leave when, the hostess stopped us from walking out. She said that she was going to ask if we could have one of the empty tables even though we just wanted to get a couple of drinks. Then we were seated and enjoyed a few drinks with good company. Our server was lovely, but that initial experience of being turned away because of the food purchase requirement was a little bit of a turn off. I would have understood if it was prime lunch or dinner time and every table was occupied. Anyway, the drinks were good. Cheers. read more

This restaurant was close to Hospital so we went for a quick bite. Though we wish we had chose one of the other restaurants on the street. I can be a germ phobia so it may have been me over sensitive but when I saw the condition of the kitchen which is across from restroom it really made me feel sick. Additionally the silverware and drinking glasses were given to us dirty as well. The salad I ordered was ok though after seeing kitchen I could not finish it but the French onion soup was bland and did not have a good taste to it. Overall a huge disappointment would have been better off at hospital cafeteria read more

I came here with a big group for Saturday brunch. One of the few spots in Boston where we were able to book a last minute reservation. They have plenty of seating, so that usually helps. To start, we got the breakfast loaded tots for the table to share. One of the members of our party was vegetarian, so they were able to put the bacon on the side. In terms of the main meal, everyone seemed pretty happy with what they ordered. I got the meatlovers omlette, which was pretty big and came with a nice portion of home fries. The huevos rancheros and eggs benedict also looked delicious. Compared to some other brunch spots in Boston, I'd say this place is solid, but not the best. I would prefer Cafe Luna in Cambridge, but they tend to book up faster and they are a bit more expensive. Next time, I'd like to come back and try some of their more traditional bar food offerings! read more

Food was mediocre. Server Louis could use training on how to be a waiter and how to be polite.

The fish sandwich and sweet potato fries are tastless and overcooked. We have eaten there many times but it seems like the chef is different and the food is starting to taste more like a fast food restaurant. read more

Waiting for my son to have surgery ended up walking and randomly finding this spot for lunch. The nacho cheese was a little suspect and the pulled pork was watery without bbq sauce which was weird. I paid $19 for essentially a deli sandwich and fries. I picked up so it's not their fault the fries were soggy. The portions are huge but I'd prefer a smaller portion and smaller price point. It was ready to go when I picked it up and super convenient to MGH. read more

Terrible on almost every level. We ordered Bloody Mary's, positively the worst I've ever had, no spiced rim, no spice in the drink, not sure it even had vodka. It tasted like watered down tomato juice. We asked for Tabasco, which also seemed to be watered down. Got pretzel sticks, horrible, not pretzel bread at all, just burned breadsticks. And the sauces for the breadsticks were, you guessed it, runny and thin and tasted watered down. The blue cheese with the chicken tenders, watered down! Nothing we had was good. Go anywhere else, this place is terrible and expensive. read more

Visiting from out of town and in walking distance from hotel so tried for a late lunch/early dinner, 2 adults, teenager and kid. Service was meh. We waited a while to be seated - there were only a few others in restaurant due to time of day but took server/hostess a while to acknowledge. Food was good and plentiful. Kids chicken tenders were amazing for a kids meal. Had to ask for drink refills. Overall a good experience. read more

I've been here a few times and the food was just ok. On our visit last night a Monday in April, everything was great. I had a Guinness that was perfectly poured. The calamari was excellent. Came here for brunch with my boyfriend--really liked it and would definitely come back! The food was rich and comforting and the perfect reward for waking up and going outside on a weekend morning. We got the breakfast loaded tots, which I think were the star of the table! Yolk porn on top was perfect and the creamy, cheesy, bacony taste on top of crispy tots made me keep going back for "one more bite" even when I was full. The breakfast pizza was also really good and quite a lot of food. It had scrambled eggs instead of a fried egg which I would have preferred for the flavor, BUT scrambled eggs are much less likely to spill all over you when you pick up a pizza slice for a bite (so still happy with the pizza!). Excited to go back another time to try some drinks and other menu items! Also really liked the interior decor, it seems like they've been there for a while and it has a dark/cozy feeling inside the restaurant. read more

I only recommend this place if you are a visitor or the "other person" of a patient at MGH and you want to get an alcoholic beverage... like a Bloody,... when you've been waiting for your person to get out of a 4 hour surgery! The bloody was actually very delicious! The interior is par and somewhat old and dirty. The ladies room is TINY. I had to wait in my stall until the other person was done using the sink so I could actually maneuver to the sink to wash my hands. I didn't try any food so I can't speak for that but I didn't order any food for a reason. Not sure I would trust the cleanliness of the kitchen. read more

We stopped here after visiting a loved one at MGH. It was close and the reviews made the restaurant look decent. First impression was that it was old, dark, and dirty inside. The restaurant wasn't super busy as we were hitting it on the tail end of the lunch rush. We stood at the front for 10 minutes. Servers buzzed by the front, but no one acknowledged us. I figured that there was a host that was busy somewhere and that is why the servers were ignoring us. Finally, one of the servers stopped and brought us to a table. I have a gluten allergy, so I had a few questions on the menu. The menu was not super clear on what was safe. The server, Louis, did offer to grab the gluten free menu. This menu was not on their website, as I would have already looked at it ahead of time, if it was. But by that time we had already figured out that what I was looking at was safe. Food was mediocre. We had salads. My husband's chicken was woody. Both salads were barely dressed. The dressing was tasty, but there was just so little of it on the salad. I would have asked for a little more dressing, but the server never came back after someone else had dropped the food off. When we were done eating another server picked up our plates. I ran to the bathroom after eating and saw our server hanging out in the wait station. He did not look busy. We then waited 25 minutes for our check. At that point we asked another server if they were able to get our check. Louis then came by and snottily dropped off the check at our table. He just threw it down as he stormed passed us without saying a word. He was clearly annoyed that we just didn't want to hang out all day in the restaurant while he hung out in the wait station, hiding from his guests. Another server cashed us out, because again, our server was no where to be found. We hopefully will not have to go back to the hospital any time soon, but if we did, this would NOT be the place to go. Boston has so much to offer. People should skip this one!!! read more

Walked in here solo on a Thursday Night and there was probably about 20ish people dining and drinking in there. It's a vintage (est. 1930) gastropub/dive bar vibe except with a bunch of flatscreens everywhere. I ordered a margherita pizza and fries. The fries were perfectly salted and golden crisp. The Margherita pizza taste good, but the cheese kept falling off. I'm not sure if that's typical with a Margherita pizza?? Overall, there's nothing spectacular to write home about, however it is a good bar with good food. read more
