They have some specials, when you buy any drink, you can order $3 smash burgers so we ordered three of them, but both of us had to order a drink. We came back because the food was awesome. They weren't too busy, but I'm sure it was because of the freezing cold. But the service was honestly horrible. We were sat past the kitchen window where a few staff members all hung out on their phones. Our server finally came over to get our drink orders, and we asked for a couple minutes to decide. The server did not come back over for well over 15 minutes, and I tried to get his attention but he avoided contact and just kept checking his phone. I brought my kids to BBCo after a trip to the MFA. There was something for everyone, which was perfect. I'll start by saying that the service was terrible. Our waitress took a long time for every single thing and was standing around chitchatting most of the time. There were only about 3 tables with people, so when you are waiting 10 minutes to order, it's a bit frustrating. However, the food was very good. The garlic parm fries were solid, and the Wicked Hot burger was right up my alley with great flavor! I'd highly recommend it, and it's not overly spicy for those who might worry. My friend and I came here last night for dinner and it was absolutely delicious. This was my first time coming. We split fried pickles which were out of this world! Walked in around 9:50 PM and it was honestly the perfect time--no line, not too crowded, just a chill vibe right from the start. Since it's also a bar, I expected to get ID'd, but we didn't. The burgers are simple: potato bread, a single patty, sauce, pickles, and onions. We both got no onions, and my boyfriend asked about adding bacon, but they said no. The late-night menu is pretty minimal, but their regular burger prices are $8 for a single, $10 for a double, and $13 for a triple. In total, we paid $26 and tipped $4. As for the food: simple but really satisfying. After three burgers, I was definitely full. The meat was juicy, flavorful, and slightly pink--just how I like it. My boyfriend rated it a 7/10 (3/5), and I'd give it an 8/10 (3.5/5). The staff was super friendly. She asked if it was our first time and if we had any questions, which felt welcoming without being overbearing. One thing I actually liked? She didn't interrupt us while we were eating to ask how the food was. Some people prefer that check-in, but I personally enjoyed the uninterrupted experience. Would give zero stars if I could. My girlfriend and I first tried the Harvard Square location and weren't impressed, and thought maybe a location in Boston might be the move. It definitely was not. We ordered two BYOB burger bowls, and I specifically stated in mine to please not include certain food items as I have intolerances. These were not honored. Items I also wanted on my burger were missed. My girlfriend's order was messed up too, they gave her the wrong type of onion and COMPLETELY forgot her side of beans. I went a long time throughout the day without eating - I had also been craving a burger for a while and thought this would hit the spot, but this just tasted like sadness to me. The patties were cooked well, but not seasoned at all. Plus, the bowls were so overwhelmed with sauce that I was getting bites of straight-up mayo. We also ordered sweet potato fries, which were soggy, but that might have been my own fault as I was a couple minutes late arriving to pick up my order. The maple mayo sauce was good. I've eaten here plenty of times since my first review 9 years ago and it's still been 5 stars every single time. I've been able to go in for their 420 burger $4.20 special which unpaired with their $1-$2 drink specials like a PBR. This place is coming out with new limited time options every single month and Chef Paul is still an absolute food genius. I've been a big fan and always will be. I'm so happy I can get this on apps like Uber Eats and Door Dash now and can get it from the comfort of my home without having to fight traffic or making a reservation. On our recent trip to Boston we happened to catch the episode of Diner, dive in and Drives at this place and figured - hey let's check it out. It was a few blocks from our hotel and we walked. Was super small and there was a wait for a Friday night, not surprisingly. It was worth every second. We started with the boneless wings which were huge and delicious. My husband ordered the hot and spicy burger and I had one with blue cheese. Both were incredible. Sides of Cole slaw and baked beans were terrific and the chips were good too. The server was attentive, very pleasant interaction. The food was interesting, the burger was good. But i do have to say I ordered it medium, and it was more so medium rare. The chicken parm rolls sort of lacked flavor cohesion. The cheese fries were delicious they were the perfect thickness to be paired with cheese. In town on a Friday night, and there was a line at the ramen place... so I went here instead. I guess I missed out by not ordering one of the milkshakes. Just about everyone else did and they looked ridiculously American. The burger was pretty good, and cooked correctly (mid-rare) and actually on the 'rarer' side, which I like. It usually goes the other way. I'd rate it about average. I went for a relatively plain burger with some spicy mayo in addition to the LTO. The chips (crisps) are clearly homemade, but that wasn't necessarily a good thing. I thought some of them were inedible (chewy as rubber) while others were more crispy. There was no consistency. Not sure when restaurants started to start using chips instead of fries as the standard side, but stick with fries peoples. The burger did take a little time to get out to me, though. I had expected to be able to eat up and catch my bus back to Portland, but it was evident I'd have to wait for the next one, so I took my time. Finally made it to BBC! My brother and parents have visited a couple of tips after some marathons - now all of us had the pleasure to visit on our Fourth of July trip. Did not in any way disappoint! If you like burgers, this a "must" stop in Boston. I loved reading all the unique toppings and their long list of burger creations. We ordered the 420 (topped with bacon, mozzarella sticks, and onion rings with a deep fried mac and cheese underneath the patty). Holy cow, definitely sharable and for not being a big mac and cheese fan, I was surprised how much I loved it on the burger - great flavor and texture. Deep fried pickles seems to be the thing in Boston. So glad we had them from here because the breading was addictively crispy, hard to stop eating them. The kids enjoyed their cheeseburger and chicken fingers. Beware, the chips that comes as a side are perfectly crunchy and salty, you just might eat them till you explode. Overall, would stop again. It really pains me to write this review, because I really want to like Boston Burger Company, but I just can't. I have given this chain multiple chances, but the bottom line is that it's just not good. There are much better burger places in the Boston area, trust me. My girlfriend and I were coming back from a long day trip and wanted to grab some food to go. We each ordered a burger salad (we didn't want burger buns that day), with a bunch of customizations. I got a side of their beans with my salad, and my girlfriend ordered sweet potato fries. The salads were the saddest things I've ever seen and eaten, barely and flavor and burger, and not mixed well. I've had burger salads before and they are delicious and not too difficult to make. It's important to cut everything up and mix well for optimal flavor. This was just a pool of lettuce and a few things. I also ordered some stuffing on the side, but they put it right into my salad. They also forgot my side of beans. The taste was just disgusting. The service was also really bad, we came in, waited patiently in line to get our take out, and the host barely acknowledged us and seemed annoyed at his job. Not cool. I won't be back read more
