This was my first lobster roll ever, so take that into account. But I felt like there was a generous amount of lobster on there and the woman behind the counter said to go cold so you can really taste the flavor of the lobster for your first lobster roll. I think she was right! Flavor was fresh and satisfied both myself and my husband (we split one as a snack). The bread was sweet and fluffy. Only thought is the whole thing probably could use some sauce (lemon? Butter?). Again, I'm new to the whole thing! Next time I'll try with the hot butter.
We stumbled upon Pauli's while looking for another restaurant to eat at with no wait on a Saturday evening. Omg- Guy Fieri rated must try Lobsta Roll & Rainaiscrazy did a challenge here!? I'm sold. This is a small sandwich shop with limited seating, the staff here are very friendly & chill. Ordered 3 lobster rolls- opted for the hot buttered since they said most people get that & I never had a hot lobster roll before. Were they small? Yes. Expensive? Yes. Was it worth trying? Absolutely! The lobster rolls were packed with chunks of lobster meat & mayo with hot butter on a soft, grilled hot dog bun. Lobster meat was plump- tasted fresh, sweet & tender. Mmm...sooo freakin' delicious! I think I went to lobster heaven. My kids loved it too, guess it was that good... we enjoyed every bite. I agree with Guy Fieri- the Lobsta Roll is definitely a must try! :p
For the price, not impressed. 1. Lobster meat not fresh at all, and noticeably so. 2. Small rolls for the price (yes, lobster is expensive. Yes, there are bigger rolls with more meat for the same price in similar areas) 3. The toast on the bread and the bread itself was subpar Sadly wouldn't recommend based on my experience with the lobster roll. Maybe their sandwiches are good? Also, just as a heads up, minimal seating (grab and go vibes). Staff was also very sweet and friendly
Got a chance to try Pauli's using a food delivery service after seeing them highlighted on a rerun of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. They prepared our order very quickly and everything was packed well, and the food was outstanding. The lobsta roll included 7 oz of tender lobster just kissed with lemon and mayo and nestled in a grilled roll--delish. It also came with Utz original chips. The creamy clam chowder was an excellent complement too. The steak pizzaiola sandwich was stuffed with shaved tender steak with American cheese and topped with a tangy marinara sauce -- tasty and filling, especially with the sub roll. The Fat Felix was all that it was billed to be, with shaved steak mixed with grilled onions and gooey cheese and chopped bacon--an elevated cheesesteak for sure. Look forward to trying other menu items on my next visit.
Last stop before I went home and it was great. Went at 10 am and they serve the entire menu so you don't have to wait till 11. The roll is great, on the more expensive side but worth it. The place is small so I would grab food and enjoy at the park.

This place redeemed whatever it was I had in Framingham. The place is pretty small. I just ordered at the counter, and the person taking my order was super friendly. Wish I got their name for a shout-out. There's not a lot of seating in the establishment; it feels like the place is meant for a very quick meal. FOOD: I got a hot buttered lobster roll and it came with a side of chips. I actually ran into the owner while I was there, and he had explained that their lobster rolls are unique in the sense that they actually toss their lobster meat in a pan with butter. You can really taste it. Buttery lobster heaven. Would definitely come again if I'm back in Boston. I could probably eat ten of those hot buttered lobster rolls in one sitting and have no regrets.
One of my lobster rolls in the city and it didn't disappoint. Large chunks of sweet buttery lobster all on a nicely toasted roll. This place does it right!

I went with the Hot Buttered Lobster Roll. I really liked the lobster to bread ratio. There was so much lobster that it kept falling out. Lobster was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of butter. I also went with the large New England Clam Chowder. The chowder was very flavorful, but a bit watery compared to what I'm used to. I don't think it's something I would ding a star for, but I would consider it a local preference. There were plenty of clams and a fair amount of potatoes. If I'm in the area again, I wouldn't mind coming back to try other items on their menu.

I saw this place next to Ernesto's Pizza so I decided to get a sandwich to go. Another small place but it was a place Guy Fieri ate so it must be good. I ordered the Prosciutto Classico. When I opened it up that sandwich looked like one of the best sandwiches I've ever seen. The prosciutto tasted excellent, the cheese was fresh, the tomatoes were fresh, and the olive oil and vinaigrette brought it all together. The bread was perfectly toasted and held up everything inside. If you are ever in Boston and want a good sandwich come here it's worth it!

A short drive from the airport through a small street but that early in the morning, we got parking right away. I found this spot on Yelp but when we arrived, I see that it was also featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Dive-ins and Dives at one point. There's photos of the owners with famous folks along the walls. Inside is more of a take-out setting bu there is some seating within with small tables and bar seating along the front window. Food took about 10-15 minutes to come out and you pick your chips at the counter. We ordered the hot and cold lobster rolls and clam chowder. Our first rolls of the drip and these were good! The prices were a little steep, but in our New England journey, all the lobster rolls were around this price around $30. Lobster rolls are filled with 7oz of lobster on a grilled New England style hot dog roll. We got one cold and one hot version. The lobster was good, and had some bouncy meat portions. Cold was tossed in some mayo/lemon combo and the meat felt more dense (likely because cold). The bread itself was a fine vessel but you had to eat it relatively fast, could be more grilled in my opinion. Clam chowder was a medium thickness, and some clam pieces in there. Overall, I'm happy we picked this spot as our Boston lobster roll. Definitely a solid start to the copious amount of lobster we tried on this trip!

Pauli's is where I go in Boston for good and affordable lobster rolls. I like to get the hot buttered lobster roll for $32. The order comes with chips, but can be upgraded to fries or onion rings for an upcharge. If you have at least a group of 3, you can order the USS Constitution (28 ounce lobster roll) for $120. I'm also a fan of the Paulitician (chicken cutlet with prosciutto). The sandwiches here are delicious and a good portion for the price. Pauli's is always really busy, they do have some sit down tables and seats, but it's cozy. read more

So it's a little off the beaten path sort of tricky to get to and find, but well worth it! Lobster was good I would say 3 outta 5 but the claim chowder.. that's where it's at ! Full of claims not potatoes and was soo good! Picked the perfect cool rainy day too.. it's a soup kinda day! I think the lobster would have been better with butter or aioli something to go along with it .. just meat and a bun.. but it was good not bad by any means.. read more
We were greeted upon arrival, which is always great. Seating is limited to some counters, probably about 5-6 people max. There was enough space under the counter to store our luggage because we were traveling. We ordered the lobster roll and the England Clam Chowder. The lobster roll was good but I wouldn't say it's worth it's price. It came out much smaller than I thought, but that's my fault. I was hoping there was some more garnish or cheese or something added to the roll and lobster was a bit dry imo. Nonetheless, it was good, don't get me wrong, just not what I thought it would be.Clam chowder was delish!! I would definitely order the clam chowder again! We picked up sandwiches to go, and they were both good. I had the hot buttered lobster roll (around $24 or $29), which was packed with big lobster pieces. My husband had a turkey sandwich that he liked. The service was friendly. The restaurant is quite small, so you may want your meal to go if you don't get there before it's too crowded. read more

Absolutely phenomenal. This place is fire. The staff are super super friendly and cool. The place is of course tiny I mean it's the north end what do you expect. We parked illegally outside luckily made it out without a ticket lol. Anyways we got the Vito and the Killer bee. As much as I wanted a hot buttered lobster roll the guy at the counter was raving about the chicken cutlet subs and he DELIVERED. These subs were a great price (for boston) and packed with flavor. The braided roll was incredibly fresh and really pulled it all together for me. I don't have a single negative thing to say here people honestly. If you are in the area and you want an incredibly sandwich that will blow your taste buds off then check out Pauli's. I'll be back for the buttered lobster soon lol. read more
Lobstah Roll!!!! That's what my buddy said when we were looking for lunch, 30 minutes after eating cannolis at Modern Bakery, right down the road. He said "You gotta try Pauli's" I looked it up and it's right around the corner. I had the Clam Chowder and my daughter had the Lobstah Roll! Wow! When you walk in you're greeted and if you aren't from a city it might come off as gruff but these people in here are very attentive and friendly...in a Boston type of way! As great as the service is, the food is out of this world. $32 for a Lobstah Roll and worth it! If you are in town and want a great small, family owned spot, this is definitely worth a stop! Thank you again to all of the employees there for being g so kind to us Southerners! We will be back! read more
Came to the North End to walk around and stopped by Pauli's. They were featured on the Food Network's Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. I ordered the hot buttered lobster roll. The roll I got had more shreds of lobsters and not chucks as stated in the menu. The shreds of lobsters would be more suited in chowder and not on a roll. As you can see from my pic, the lobster roll was not showcased. Since it was shredded, each bite taken ended up having shreds falling off. It was lacking appreciation and visible signs of quality. I want chunks of lobster in my roll as stated in the menu and what Guy Fieri got during his visit! Sadly that was my experience and looking at other pictures showed a different a story. read more

I ordered the lobster roll and the bacon clam chowder fries. While the lobster roll was tasty, it felt a bit small for the price, so I'd recommend opting for the lobster sub instead. The lobster roll was good -- fresh lobster with decent sized chunks. I do wish it had a little more seasoning or mayo to go along with it, and wish the buns were buttered and/or toasted more, because it overall felt kind of bland. In terms of lobster alone it was solid, but as a roll as a whole it was not the best I've had. The pauli-tician sandwich is a steal. Huge generous portion sizes with fresh ingredients. The fries were great. I would definitely come back for the sandwiches but might pass on the lobster roll next time. Location is near the greenway so plenty of outdoor seating options to picnic at or eat at tables there. read more
You'd think you're in Philly with the stellar quality of this cheesesteak but it may be better than most cheesesteaks I've had in Philly even! Fantastic flavor and seasoning combined with a great cut of beef. The mozzarella sticks were fantastic as well and the marinara was an amazing compliment to them, so garlicy and delicious. Took my family here (7 of us) since I came to visit and looked up places to eat. Ordered the Classic Cold Lobster Roll with chips and everyone loved it! My niece kept saying how delicious it was! Packed with lobster meat and the bun was well coated with butter. There is some seating near the window and wall. The staff was friendly as it took us awhile to decide and I had some questions when ordering. read more

My dear son's treat, he said this was one of the popular spot for Lobster Roll, which was my first time experience of it. A small store at North End surrounding by Italian district. It was a Very busy Sunday afternoon, not waiting to long to get our food. AS expected, buttery, full of lobster meat, fresh and well mixed with the soft bun. Liked their clam chowder, tasty with creamy aroma... A quick and satisfied meal read more
This was my favorite lobster roll place I've tried so far. I ordered the hot butter lobster with fries at additional cost. Normally it comes with chips. It was fresh and delicious!!!!! I think the price was very reasonable for a place in the city. Staff were super nice and didn't have to wait much. read more

I heard really good things about this place, so I wanted to try for myself. The lobster roll was pretty good. unfortunately the lobster mac and cheese for $34 was very disappointing. I wish there was more lobster and the cheese wasn't a soupy. read more

We wanted to make sure we had a great lobster roll before we leave back to the west coast. It was subpar. Maybe, a bit overhyped. We researched and saw that this was a favorite of many. Maybe, they are old reviews. The rolls were smaller than we thought. That was ok but once we started eating. We noticed that it just wasn't as tasty. They weren't bad but not worth what we paid. I see now why Neptune's was real busy. Maybe, it was an off day. I don't know. Staff was friendly, so still nice place to visit if Neptune's is busy and you don't feel like waiting. read more
