Boston Chowda is located inside Quincy Market and is always one of our go-to spots whenever we're in Boston! We love coming here every time we visit. The staff is always friendly and the clam chowder and lobster bisque are so good! So far, we've only tried the hot lobster roll, but we definitely want to come back and try some of their other rolls. Everything always looks so good! We also usually grab a frozen pack of the chowder to bring home with us every time we visit Boston. Definitely a must-stop for us! read more

Boston Chowda - Clam chowder soup in a bread bowl - Seafood Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

I got a cup of chowder and the lobster mac & cheese pie. Service was lackluster but I'm not surprised since it's a touristy place in a touristy area. I have had the chowder in a bread bowl before so I knew I had to come back so I can have proper clam chowder while I was in town. I think this one is delicious. It doesn't have bacon which is a no no for me when it comes to clam chowder. Bacon shouldn't go in it lol. The lobster mac & cheese pie was HUGE! Could feed a family of 4. There were some big chunks of lobster in it but the flavor of the mac & cheese was bland. read more

We each ordered a bread bowl from a different vendor and had a taste test. Best one was BOSTON CHOWDA! Rich, savory soup with hearty amount of clams. Bread bowl was crusty sourdough. Nice all around. My boy that ordered from this place didn't want to share. [My other boy who ordered from Fisherman's Net cried. It was bad. Packed with tasteless potatoes.] read more

We visited Quincy Market on a Friday for lunch early August. It was busy and hot outside, lines weren't too long but we were on a hunt for lobster rolls and clam chowder. So we got the meal special that came with a cold lobster roll, and we upgraded our clam chowder to large so we can share. The clam chowder wasn't think, the taste was just ok. We got a cold lobster roll which is hard to compare to warm lobster rolls. This one was like a lobster salad so there was a lot of fixings and lettuce that I couldn't really compare. But it was nice to have a meal set with soup, sandwich, and drink which was around $30-$40. I feel like the seafood was fresh. Service was quick and friendly. There's a dining area to find somewhere to post up to eat your food but it does get busy, and it was hard to get napkins and for people traveling with kids. read more

New England clam chowder in Quincy market. We got a small to try it out. Creamy but had too much potatoes in it. Didn't have a strong clam flavor to it due to all the potatoes. Items on display look good but would not get their clam chowder again. Takeout spot in this food hall. Quick service. read more

It would have been a missed opportunity if I hadn't tried East Coast clam chowder while I was in Boston, even though I am not normally a fan of it. I was fully aware that Faneuil Hall food is overpriced and regarded as a tourist trap, but what the heck, I was a tourist, so why not? The person working there let me sample a bit of the available chowders, which was super nice. The service was really quick; ordering and paying all happened before I could fully process what I was doing. The atmosphere was very lively, and the hall was bustling with people. There was still plenty of seating, but I decided to walk out and eat my chowder along the water. FOOD: New England Clam Chowder (4/5) - I opted for their smaller size, and I'm glad I did because it was very rich and creamy. They were pretty generous with the chunks of seafood, potatoes, etc. It was definitely overpriced, so I wouldn't have gotten it if I were a local. read more

Is this the best clam chowder in Boston? It's not bad, but I did have better on my Boston trip. I bought a large, about 16oz. for $13. The server dug into the bottom of the pot for the first ladle, then skimmed liquid-only from the top to fill the container. I did not have many clams or potatoes in my bowl. It did taste good. read more

Located in Quincey Market which is a very busy food hall. They have so many options for seafood and came across this one since the line was long, but not too long which to me meant good food and likely worth the wait. I ordered a lobster roll and a cup of clam chowder. Delicious although bread could have been a little more toasted but jam pack with lots of lobster which is just how I like it. read more

A definite must when visiting Boston !!! One of many we tried on our roadtrip and this was the best. Creamy, hot, delicious and served in a bread bowl that takes it over the top. One of those dishes that you will think about for years to come, at least I know I will. read more

Quincy market is busy but this stall always knows how to help with crowds. There were people sort of standing around but not ordering, but there was actually no line! Go right up to the counter. The soup was ready right away, I had 0 wait. Delicious!!! The onions on top are perfect. Always opt to sit outside because it's chaos in Quincy market. Definitely overpriced too but that's anything in Quincy market. read more

This food hall was extremely busy. Definitely touristy (almost $50 for one meal) but the food was pretty good overall. We shared a manager's special with a hot lobster roll, a cup of clam chowder, and a small drink. The roll was quite tasty and the chowder was just ok for me. I felt it needed more pepper and it was more like broth than a creamy chowder. read more

Boston Chowda - Hot Buttered Maine Lobster Roll New England Clam Chowda - Seafood Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

During a recent vacay to Boston, this place was suggested as a must try. Glad I did! This fast casual place is found inside Faneuil Hall. Hot, tasty, and a true Bostonian experience. The chowder was rich, comforting, and exactly what you hope for when you're in Boston--served piping hot and full of flavor. I recommend sticking with what they're known for: the chowder and a lobster roll. Casual, classic, and no-frills in the best way. The hubs and I split a large chowder and a hot roll. Plenty to split!! If you want an authentic taste of Boston while wandering Faneuil Hall, this spot absolutely delivers. The only challenge (on an inclement day) was seating. Will I go back? Next time this SoCA gal visits Boston...you bet! read more

While exploring Quincy Market we stopped for a bite to eat at Boston Chowda. Naturally I had to try their New England Clam chowder. It was nice & rich with good chunks of chowder & potatoes. Saw this place on YouTube in quincy market. A roll of eateries, you will find this place. Got the chowda and lobster butter roll. Chowda was more like soup. It was flavorful but would like it thicker. Lobster butter roll. Sadly to say, it wasn't the hype I thought it would be. Grilled roll with buttered lobster. Pros: Nice big piece of lobster in the roll and a lot of clams in the chowda. Cons: I liked the big pieces of lobster but the butter made the roll soggy. Would like the chowda thicker. Would I got back? Maybe not. read more

Got the lobster special which was the hot buttered lobster roll and clam chowder. The lobster roll itself was around $42, and for that price it was quite disappointing. Pricy but good. Total was $61.39 for one combo, with an extra pop + tip. We at the Boston Chowda Company located in Faneuil Hall Market place. It was packed inside and there was a line to get food but they keep you moving. Service was friendly and the this location is set up booth style in the market/hall. We had this on our list of things to try in Boston. We split the combo, which had their Award Winning New England Clam Chowder and a hot Maine Lobster Roll. It was good and dining in Faneuil Hall market place was an experience in itself. read more

Boston Chowda has a catchy name! I tried the clam chowda bowl, New England style, at the Faneuil Hall location. They also serve corn chowda. This is a walk up and order style location. Soups are available for viewing in pots within their glass case. The sourdough bread bowl was fantastic. I absolutely loved every bite. The soup within was just ok, tbh. The servers were friendly and fun. Being that this is a touristy location, that is important. It's worth a try. I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture of my soup bowl. Next time! read more

Friday afternoon, this place is super busy. Throughout the entire hall, you'll have people hollering at you to get your business, which is pretty fun. Clam chowder bread bowl (7/10, $12.98) - Boston Chowda seem to have the cheapest Ram chowder in the entire hall at $12.98. The bread bowl also seem to be the largest in the hall, so overall win-win! - They offer a side of fried onions and oyster crackers, which adds a nice crisp. - However, like most bread bowls, it feels as you're eating that it's mostly bread, and a little less chowder. Make sure to eat a lot of the bread as you're eating the chowder or else it will just be bread left lol - Overall pretty good, probably not the best New England chowder that you'll ever get. Definitely a good place to stop if you're not trying to spend $30+ on clam chowder at some sitdown restaurant read more

Look. If you really really want to check this place out because Boston marketplace was on your bucket list - you're free to do so. However, I was not a fan of eating from a paper plate in half dark cold market with a ton of people pushing you for $46. Yes, That's how much a coke, a little bit of soup, and the lobster roll were. That's before tip btw. Was the lobster roll good? Yes. Was it worth it? Hell no, you can easily DIY this easy dish at home for a quarter of the price. This is a stand inside the Quincy Market that has a variety of seafood. They are apparently famous for their over priced Clam Chowder. The Chowder was just ok but the head guy at the counter, maybe the owner, was extremely rude. I asked a simple question, "where can I get a couple of spoons and napkins?". He intimidatingly stared down at me with his mouth open as if I were some sort of an idiot or something. He finely reached under the counter, grabbed 2 spoons and 2 napkins. He practically threw them at me. There is absolutely no excuse for that kind of attitude. The Chowder doesn't make up for being nasty to paying customers. read more

We are visiting the famous Boston Chowda! This is the place to visit for the lobster rolls in the Quincy Market. Their combo deal is pretty good. A lobster roll, small clam chowder, and a drink! However, it's really expensive here! We ordered another lobster roll on the side. There are different types of lobster rolls here, so I recommend trying different kinds. The quality is great. Really like the garlic bread on the outside adding another flavor of the roll. The clam chowder is typical. Nothing too special. If you are visiting the Quincy Market and craving lobster roll, I would consider this place. Definitely great. Have had some good chowder in California and lobster rolls in La Jolla and in the Bay Area. Their chowder had some good chunks with a white base. Very tasty. The roll was fantastic. Thick lobster on a bun with so much butter I'm not sure how you can't way it taste amazing. But again the market place is packed so it's more like fast food and no seats. Overall food was great. During my time in Boston, I went to three different establishments to try their lobster roll. This one caught me by by surprise with how much I liked it. The bun for the lobster roll was a garlic bun - huge plus for me! The only thing that I would change is that I like to have butter on the side to drizzle over the lobster and this did not come with it. I also opted for the combo which came with a soda and a cup of chowder. This was the best clam chowder that I had on my trip.
