AMBIANCE Parking: Street parking, it could get pretty busy so plan accordingly Seating: Inside seating good for groups and individuals, room for maybe 30 people Vibes: Bostonnnnn! You're in an active area. A balance of neighborhoods and small businesses area. One floor are shops and the other is all houses/apartments. The restaurant itself is pretty simple. Photos of Boston and sailing arts here and there. The pop music was pretty comforting. Great place for a simple food adventure. FOOD / DRINKS Lobster Ramen (A-Ok) You have the option of instant-style ramen or their house mix. It's a solid bowl with a good amount of noodles, broth, and seafood. The blend of lobster and crab keeps it more affordable while still giving you that seafood flavor. Overall, a nice option--more casual than traditional ramen, but still enjoyable. SERVICE Great! OH MY GOD! SoCal girl visiting Boston and I wanted to experience my first lobster roll ever. We tried other places at 2pm and they were full so we headed here and my goodness we should've come here in the first place! It is very unassuming from the outside and the inside could use some love but I don't care. You can lose the aesthetics as long as the food is phenomenal and that's exactly what this was. The clam chowder was UNREAL! Best clam chowder I have ever had. It was so creamy and delicious. We thought the bowl was tiny when I came out but it was a perfect side because it was so rich. The lobster was taaaastyyy. So happy with it and the lobster was thick and chunky and tasted fresh. The toasted and buttered roll it came on added that extra layer of flavor. so I know this place is more for lobster but I was really craving a shrimp po boy and ordered one. Genuinely disappointed, after eating the first half with 3 pieces of shrimp, I opened the second half to find 2 pieces of shrimp . the taste was fine (i ordered no tomato, it typically comes with) but for about $22 total not including tip I've had much much better. We were shocked to find out our Lobster on roll was $49!!!!!! For just one roll! Ridiculous!

Tried the Lobster Roll (warm with butter) and onion rings. They were out of Lobster bisque :( I wasn't a fan of the Lobster roll, to me, the Lobster was rubbery and I had to spit out a couple bites. Just wasn't my thing. My boyfriend said tje onion rings were "ok". The service was great, really friendly servers. We sat outside and it was beautiful, really enjoyed that. I still rated a "4" because of everything was good but I guess Lobster rolls just arent my thing. The Skinny: Decent but expensive. Lobster roll leaves a bit to be desired. Came here since they were on InKind while visiting and craving a lobster roll. Overall the fried seafood (we got the fishermans platter to share) was solid. Fried well and a decent portion. Clam chowder was great as well. However a few things missed the mark for me. The lobster bisque was very vinegar-y which is not the typical taste I like for the soup. We also tried both the hot and cold lobster roll. First off - even for a lobster roll it was quite expensive. It was ~$55 - which I get it seafood plus newbury street. However, the lobster was actually pretty bland. There didn't seem to be much flavor - even in the hot buttered one. Lots of meat but it seemed like it had been frozen too long beforehand and gave off an almost water taste. Overall since there is so much good seafood in Boston for a cheaper or comparable price - I'd probably skip coming back here again. Bostonian - always gotta get a specialty, and this was it. Less meat than the standard, but you get the fundamental experience with some savings which can't hurt. Order it hot with butter. The bread is buttered and toasted well. May not fully fill an appetite, but close. Lobstah Mac - wanted to spice it up so tried something new on visit 2. While more filling than the lobster rolls, it's not as tasty. Bowtie pasta, fair amount of cheese, and lobster meat make up a decent combo, but lobster and bread is unmatched. I got the Bostonian sandwich made cold with mayo - this is WAYYY better than any other lobster roll with butter and also had the Chowdah (we demolished immediately) which is from a generations-old-recipe. I cannot recommend this place enough, it felt like we were having lunch with family or friends that we knew for ages. Love this place. It was my first time there earlier this week. Very reasonable prices and very filling. Portion sizes for sandwiches are great. The host was very friendly, and loved the vibe. The blue string lights bordering the ceiling made the place really cool looking. The neon light decoration and when it comes to dining, they get an A+ for super large napkins. I'm the type of person that normally would go through 10+ napkins at most places. The big 2 napkins they gave we like paper hand towels and lasted me the whole time. Ordered the fish sandwich, was done well. Also had the lobster bisque, and the clam strips with fries. Love shoestring fries which I'm glad they gave. Big bonus: larger squeeze bottles of ketchup providing, and they also have malt vinegar. When I want my ketchup, trust me, I want my ketchup. Clam strips had a nice batter and tartar sauce was delicious. My only critique is the lobster bisque is quite thick and heavy. I was expecting a lighter, runnier version. But it's perfect on a winter's day and you get your fill's worth. The cup was more than enough for it. Yes, the hot butter New England lobster roll was delicious! This is the experience you are expecting when you're in the area. The Lobstah Grilled cheese was a savory treat too. The place is quaint, small with limited seating and is reminiscent of a mom and pop shop full of character. Super casual and service was friendly. It was a Sunday afternoon and squeezing through to get an outdoor table along the sidewalk was tight but still available. Both of my sandwiches were loaded with large chunks of lobster. Super buttery goodness. The grilled cheese was packed with mouth watering calories. This is a good alternative if you've had enough of the classic lobster roll. Had a terrible experience here a couple days ago. When I came in to pick up my order and told the cashier, she simply said "wait." I noticed a bag of food already sitting on the table, but assumed it wasn't mine since she hadn't given it to me. Five minutes later, she finally says "all set" -- and hands me that same bag that had clearly been sitting there the entire time. As soon as I left and opened the box, the fries were already soggy, confirming the food had been sitting out long before I got it. I reached out to them through email and social media to give them a chance to address the situation, but they didn't bother to even read or respond to try and rectify the situation. That tells me everything I need to know about how little they value their customers. I won't be back. And it's severely overpriced. The lobster roll I got was tough and hard to chew. read more

Let's start with the customer service: They had good customer service. They greeted upon entry, helpful with the menu, cleaned the water off the chairs and tables outside from the rain. No complaints about the customer service. Lobster roll: When the roll first arrived, I thought oh wow now this looks delicious with look at all of this lobster. The roll was good; however, after eating a few bites, I chewed a small piece of shell. Okay no problem I'll just spit that out and continue to eat. A few more bites later, another small shell piece. Okay right now I'm getting annoyed. So now I'm cautiously eating and not able to truly enjoy the food. Kept on eating. A few bites later and I had a huge pieces of shell in my mouth and I'm now I'm pissed *insert expletive*. Not only am I pissed about the huge shell piece, but a piece of it went in between my teeth and later I could taste the blood from my gums. So I then took all the lobster out of the roll to ensure there were no remaining shell pieces and to my surprise, that was the last piece. Clam chowder: This was the first time that I could say since I've been in Boston and I've had clam chowder every day on my trip (a few days) that the clam chowder wasn't good. The consistency was slightly different and the taste was off so I didn't eat half of what I ordered. Overall, if it hadn't been for all of those shell pieces, I might have enjoyed the roll a little more. Definitely didn't like the clam chowder so my entire experience was just okay. read more

This place smells so bad. Right when you walk in it smells like a combination of feet and seafood. It's in the basement of a Newbury street building so there isn't much light or airflow. The walls are decorated with crayon colored pictures of printed out lobsters. There are a few tables and the place is pretty dirty. We were helped right away and they took our order and brought our food out fast. My lobster roll was packed with meat and I didn't even get the larger one, I got the Bostonian. The roll was excellent and it came with hot butter. I took advantage of the yell check in and got a clam chowder which was okay but lacking in meat. Inside there is a chalkboard menu and decor is pretty simple. We ordered two lobster rolls - one with hot butter and one cold with mayo. The lobster rolls were delicious, it's straight up lobster in a roll! I did observe that these rolls are filled with only lobster claw meat, which was tasty and still sufficient, but I have also been to other restaurants that stuff the rolls with meat from the lobster tail as well.
