    chicken cutlet sandwich
    Megan W.

If you are going to come here, I highly recommend mobile ordering ahead so that you don't have to wait one hour for your sandwich. They are very busy. The sandwich is well worth the wait though. It is one of the largest sandwiches I've ever had, so one sandwich can easily be split between two people. The focaccia bread is fresh and fluffy. The chicken cutlet is nicely breaded, and crisp. I would come here every week if I lived in Boston.

Had to try the famous table chicken cutlet sandwich in the North End. I did a pickup order and it took a really long time which I expected since it's such a popular spot. The sandwich is huge and definitely worth the price. Easily feeds 2 people. The homemade potato chips were Amazing! I would definitely grab a bag of those if you're in there. As for the Sandwich it all tasted very fresh. The bread really made the sandwich. But if I'm being honest it didn't really blow me away. I think I expected to like it a lot more than I did, and maybe that's because it was cold and is better hot and right after they make it. But it was just kinda okay in my opinion.

Table Mercato is a very cozy italian speciality store in the heart of the North End. We came in on a weekend to get one of their famous sandwiches and it's safe to say a lot of others had the same idea as us. We ordered in store, and waited on a line that was out the door for about 15 mins to place our order. It took about 30-40 mins to receive our order which was one sandwich. There were a few customers near us who came in for online pickup orders and waited upwards of an hour. I would definitely recommend coming in the store and ordering because it seems like our orders were prioritized. The store itself had a lot of prepared foods, pastas, italian speciality items available to purchase. Also, there is nowhere to sit inside and it got extremely cramped inside with all of the customers so just be aware of that. As for the actual sandwich, they were massive. You only need 1 for 2 people, and we still had a hard time finishing it. You certainly get a bang for your buck here. The sandwich itself was excellent, I loved the focaccia and the fresh mozz. Overall, I am glad we tried it and we really enjoyed the food, but I would avoid coming here on a weekend during the lunch rush.

Super quick on weekdays when you avoid the tourist crowd. The sandwiches are huge and much fresher with moist focaccia compared to what you usually get in a sandwich shop. They're also generous with the meat and it tastes like high quality deli. Lots of great Italian market options, of course a little pricey. Cute, cozy vibe for those looking for that north end market aesthetic. Homemade cookies are mediocre and dry so I'd skip those.

Good but not worth an hour wait.

I think that Table Mercado although it was good definitely was not worth over an hour wait. I came here on a Sunday around 2pm. The same is very small and it wasn't really clear who was waiting and who was ordered (kind of a mess) everyone looked confused. We ended up ordering and the girl at the counter said it could take up to 30 mins but it ended up being over an hour wait. The manager or boss kept yelling at the staff while they were working so that was very awkward and I think slowed down the service. Once we got our food it was good but not really worth the wait or super ground breaking. Seating is also non existent so have somewhere in mind to eat after.

Easily the best sandwich I've ever had. I had no idea it was so popular but after having one of their sandwiches, I can see why. My friend randomly came across them on Google maps while looking for somewhere for lunch and we almost gave up when we saw the line and the long wait time. But that wait is worth it because their team is making every sandwich fresh by hand and it shows. First of all these sandwiches are MASSIVE, definitely shareable or you can get two meals out of it like I did. The price is a little shocking until you actually get the sandwich and then it makes sense. Not only are they huge, they're also delicious with super fresh ingredients and fantastic flavor combinations. I had the roasted egg eggplant which I highly recommend and my two friends tried completely different sandwiches and they also loved theirs. It's a very small shop with no indoor seating, but we just took our sandwiches to the park nearby and had a little picnic by the water.

One of the priciest sandwiches I've had. I was sent here on a side quest since I had a yoga class nearby. Apparently they've gone viral on social media. HUGE portions (each sandwich is cut into 2 so 2 meals) and they are made to order. It's a take out spot and be prepared to wait! Cute interior store, kind of like a grocery store too. The 3 staff are kept very busy. There's also the option to order online. I got the Brie +fig sandwich which is on the sweet side. The Italian is packed full of meat and savory. Not sure if I'd come back again with the long wait too but it's a visually spot to come once as a tourist. There were more than a few customers who were complaining about the wait time, some of their flavors were sold out.

First and much anticipated visit; won't be the last. Well-conceived Italian sandwiches and stuff. Tiny shop, no inside seating, a few benches outside. Best taken over to the Paul Revere Statue where plenty more benches allow better spreading. -- Chicken Cutlet: One man's a la carte (without the sandwich) is another man's au naturale-- a good way to sample the quality of the chicken itself. Big pieces, pounded flat, lightly breaded, adequately seasoned, and juicy. Good crunch, tenderness, and flavor on its own. Served with a little tub of red marinara sauce for dunking, and that was very good too. -- Vodka Chicken Parmesan: Served on a soft Italian sub roll, a double layer of crisp chicken cutlets gets hit with vodka sauce instead of the traditional marinara. Creamier, even buttery, with that red still lingering in the backdrop. Just the right amount of moisture, but if you wanna go heavy, the sauce container of extra vodka sauce that comes with it is great for pouring or dunking-- and good for saving to use later. Very nice all-around flavor and texture. Would get this again. -- Brie, Fig & Prosciutto: A thick, warmed slab of soft brie cheese, with thinner prosciutto, topped with a generous slather of fig jam, some arugula, and extra virgin olive oil, held between two just-the-right-thickness slices of focaccia. A very balanced configuration, with every component shining through-- with the fig out front. Everything contrasted perfectly too. I sensed a black olive flavor; maybe it was my imagination. Whatever it was, I liked it. Would get this again too, but would note that you've gotta be in the mood for the sweetness or it might not be for you. -- Roasted Veggie: A beautiful appearance with all its contrasting colors, and the same focaccia. My dining companion thought the focaccia could have been a little fresher; I didn't notice anything off. I'm not a mushrooms guy, so I had trouble going more than a bite or two, since mushrooms are prominent here. -- Classic Italian: Per the menu, you get the following on focaccia: Imported mortadella (with pistachio), sweet capicola, salami, provolone, tomato, red onions, pickles, shredded romaine, & Italian oil/dressing. Hots optional. Another good looking sandwich and of substantial thickness. Flavor was pleasant enough, but on the bologna-salami continuum, seemed more on the bologna end of things. The focaccia had good pliability, but could have been more pillowy. Would get this sandwich again, but with modifications. Even though not every item was a home run, there definitely were some, and even on the ones that weren't, they were well conceived and I felt like I got my moneysworth. Will be back. Recommendation: ordering advance and arrive before the posted time, because it may be ready earlier.

I came here during a vacation in the Boston area based on the great reviews and a Tik Tok post I saw . The line was really long but it only took about 10 minutes to order and then another 30 minutes to get my sandwiches. The sandwiches are the largest sandwiches I've ever seen. I ate half and save the other half for dinner. The sandwiches were delicious and the cashier was very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend going here for an excellent sandwich.

Sometimes places are just worth the hype. These sandwiches are absolutely incredible. The bread alone is worth the price you'll pay. Add in the delicious cutlets and it makes for an incredible sandwich. I got the table and the portion was so large that it easily fed the two of us. I ordered ahead and scheduled my pickup. Highly recommend doing that and enjoying this incredible sandwich shop

This place was on my list for a long time and finally got to check it out! Overall, I found the sandwhiches were overpriced for what they were. They were very salty and oily. I tried both The Roman and The Sicilian. Just too much oil in them, and the pistachio pesto was very salty If you want to get them on the weekend I would recommend pre-ordering as they take an hour to prep so you can order ahead and skip the line.

I heard this place was good but damn... it exceeded all my expectations!! I went in over the weekend to grab some lunch. I got the Roasted Eggplant Sandwich while my friend tried The Table Sandwich. 10/10 for the flavor, freshness and looks!! These sandwiches are huge, we ended up having it for lunch and dinner. The shop is always busy, especially over the weekend and it took us well over 40 minutes to get our order. The wait was totally worth it for me. With the extended wait time I kinda wish there was a bit more space in the shop.

Hands down the best sandwich I've ever had in my life. The size is absolutely massive (literally the size of my head and probably enough for 3-4 people), but that doesn't take away from its perfect composition! The ratio of bread to filling is spot on--although it may be difficult to get a full bite of everything at once. When you do though, you're met with an amazing mixture of the nutty pesto, fresh tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, crispy arugula, and tender chicken all encased two pieces of fluffy focaccia. The ingredients in this sandwich are really what elevate the entire experience because they're packed with flavor and as authentic as can be, making you feel transported right to Italy with every bite. I would DEFINITELY recommend The Sicilian if this combo sounds good to you, but their menu has a variety of delicious options to chose from. As for the service and ordering process itself, it was super easy! I would recommend ordering far ahead of time before picking up just to give them time to prepare your order. Also, though it has the cutest, modern Italian deli charm, the spot itself is quite small, so if you order in person be prepared to wait outside which might take a while. If you do visit in person though, this spot also offers a plethora of italian treats, some of their fabulous ingredients in their own, or even some other sides like meatballs!! All this to say, you HAVE to try Table Mercato's sandwiches. They're worth every penny and honestly I'd be willing to pay more for how good they really are. Just make sure you come with an appetite or some friends who have one!
