Located in Quincy Market, this oyster bar is your chance to try lobster roll or other seafood if you are a seafood lover like me. I was interested in trying the lobster roll. The friendly older staff greeted and offered me to try the chowder. I liked his service and decided to stay. What a great choice I made. The lobster roll with butter was on point. Tasty and fresh. Even bun was toasted and flavored with high quality butter. The saying of "everything tastes better with butter" is correct. Nice people working there who knew how to make lobster right and took pride in their work. Price is not cheap but it's worth it if you want to try Boston lobster. Recommend it.

    Lobster Roll & Clam Chowder

I stopped by for a quick bite during my visit to Quincy Market, and it turned out to be the perfect spot to unwind with a warm cup of clam chowder. My partner and I shared a lobster roll paired with the chowder, and both were fantastic. The lobster roll was incredibly juicy and tender, served on perfectly toasted bread, while the clam chowder was just the right temperature--an ideal complement to the chilly weather. Although there's minimal bar seating, there are plenty of spots in and around the market to enjoy your meal. Our order was ready in less than five minutes, and the service was both friendly and efficient.

They are the most welcoming bunch. My friends were here from Texas. He was being so kind.

I love it here. They have the best clam chowder. They do lobster rolls, lobster tail, have wine and beer. The service is amazing. Love the guys that work there. It's dead center in Quincy Market. You have to go and try for yourself and tell the guys I said hi.

Loved the hot butter lobster roll! The oysters (from Canada) were super fresh as well. Very friendly people working at the bar. Would definitely revisit next time in Boston.

It is a favorite stall inside the Quincy market. Why? Aside from its tasteful chowders, sandwiches, rolls and any seafood delight , this is the only stall that has accessible stools and table on site. Why go to the common table/ chairs spot in the middle of the hall carrying your food where on this place, you'll be conveniently eat right away. The seats even has hook for your handbag. A bit pricy but worth it. A beautiful experience in town so come and stop by when you are around.

What a cool experience to sit right at the bar in Faneuil Hall Marketplace and enjoy my first lobster roll in Boston! The lobster was warm, buttery, and super fresh. I've had lobster before that smelled fishy, but this just smelled incredible. The server prepared our food in less than 5 minutes, so you can definitely come here for a quick bit if you're short on time. The lobster bisque was a great add-on and really balanced the savory flavor of the lobster roll by providing a little bit of season and zest. Would 100% recommend sitting at the bar and getting some fresh oysters too!

My friend and I made a point to try as many hot buttered lobster rolls in Quincy Market as we could during our trip. I had the combo! June 2023, hot buttered lobster roll, can of pop, and a (very full) cup of lobster bisque was $38! AMAZING price for all that food! This was my favorite roll in Quincy Market. Bun was great, the lobster was nice chunks and the serving was generous. The bisque was buttery and silky. It was unseasonably cold, so soup in a chilly day was welcome! Best roll combo in Quincy Market!

Pretty average stuff. Love the location, and service was fine, just not getting those flavors I know are in there. Lobster I think may have been over cooked a bit. Maybe new methods? I love the Alice and Wonderland reference! The Walrus and the Carpenter, that's fun!

Food was okay. Service was bar style. The ambience, its market hall, so you expected is noisy. But it's cheaper than lots of lobsters roll I had.

They have a pretty good deal if you want a lobster roll and clam chowder! Grab a corona, stay awhile. The employees don't bite

On our last day in Boston, I ordered a cup of chowder from The Oyster Bar and took it outside to enjoy. The chowder was great! I actually felt I got quite a bit for the "cup" size and it was worth the price. The chowder itself was flavorful and loaded with all the yummy add-ins. I'd order again, and get a bowl next time! Service was friendly despite being busy and my food was ready quickly. The restaurant itself is located in Quincy Hall, so the vibe is a little chaotic and there's not a lot of seating. I'd recommend taking your meal upstairs or, weather permitting, outside to enjoy.

A very nice employee offered me a sample of chowder and it was really good so I chose this spot for my lobster roll out of others. I was disappointed with the lobster roll, unfortunately. The roll was dry and fell apart all over my shirt. Lobster quality was just okay and didn't even taste super fresh. It had a lettuce filler, a lot of mayo, and celery filler too. It came to $35.00 with tax for a chowder, can of soda and lobster roll. I didn't even finish the lobster roll and felt really disappointed. Giving three starts because the chowder was good and the service was very friendly.

Super friendly greeter! Cooked the lobster right on the spot and the hot buttered lobster roll was excellent! It's a little confusing to know where to go to order at first, so just lock eyes with the guy behind the counter and he'll kindly take your order.

Safe to say, I was more than happy to be included in this one. SERVICE: For a busy Thursday night with a party of around 15, the staff handled things impressively well. Food came out in a timely manner, no confusion, no chaos. They were friendly, attentive, and actually knew the menu, offering solid recommendations without overcomplicating it. Managing a group that size is not easy, and they made it look smooth. AMBIANCE: This place leans more Boston bar energy than traditional fine dining, and that is part of the charm. It was packed, a little tight at times, but it felt alive. You are not coming here for quiet elegance, you are coming for the buzz, the movement, and that shared experience of a packed room enjoying great food together. FOOD: We went all in and ordered family-style, almost tapas style, sharing everything across the table. Squid ink pasta, black pasta, fried calamari, grilled octopus, dish after dish hitting the table. Everything was delicious, but what really stood out was the sauce. The broths, the richness, the depth of flavor, that is what stayed with me. I found myself talking about it mid-meal, and I was not the only one. At one point, people were practically trying to drink the sauce straight from the plate. That is when you know it is hitting on another level. You know you're doing a good job when you put much thought down to how you make your sauces and broths. I was impressed from both a top down and bottom up level of culinary experience. IMPRESSIONS: I need to come back here to on more sauces and broths.

The combination of it being limited seating (it holds less than 20 people) and being a popular spot makes it quite hard to get in without a long wait, so I would recommend right when it opens. Food wise, we got the Squid Ink Pasta and Calamari. The calamari was the perfect combination of crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside, which I find a lot of restaurants don't do a great job of doing. The squid ink pasta was also delicious and on par with any quality Italian restaurants in NYC. I would come back again if I'm ever in the Boston area and want a nice Italian restaurant. Turns out, it's about what you can expect from this type of chain: good service, very pleasant ambiance...and thoroughly mediocre, overpriced food. Wouldn't be surprised if a lot of it came directly from Sysco. Previously I had tried the "Legal Seafoods Clam Chowder" sold at Costco, and found it to be very so-so compared to the "Captain Parker's" version sold at Market Basket. I was hoping the in-restaurant version would be much better. Wrong. Probably the most appalling thing about the food here were the fries, which come with most of the dishes unless you specifically ask for a substitute. I was glad that I did, because when I tasted my friend's fries, they were just about the most dry, bland, doughy-like frozen fries you could imagine. Only thing you can do with fries like that is to oversalt the bejesus out of them, and drown them in ketchup. Best thing we (party of 4) had was the Steak Salad---but when the menu says "petit sirloin" you dang better believe they MEAN "petit," lol ... it was about 3-4 mouthfuls tops! Really more of an appetizer worth $15 at most, not the $28 normal entree pricing. Fish and chips were particularly dismal---the fish was tasteless, most likely frozen just like the horrible fries. I've had better fish and chips from humble diner type places like Mike's Roast Beef in Everett, for Chrissakes. Hell, even Friendly's Fish and Chips doesn't seem that bad in comparison, lol. Swordfish and trout were somewhat less bad, but also suffered from the avalanche of cardboard fries. Anyways, now I know: I wasn't missing anything all these years.
