I've been walking by Parish Cafe & Bar for months now on my commute and can't believe it has taken me this long to try them out. Their impressive menu features creative sandwiches from chefs around the Boston area, so no two sandwiches are alike. Next to the sandwiches there is a recommended beer that they suggests pairs well. The servers are friendly and attentive, even when the restaurant is packed. There is a very large bar with plenty of tvs to watch multiple games at once (very important in Boston!) When the weather is nice, there is a large patio out front which I am now looking forward to!

Delicious gourmet sandwiches in a very convenient location. Plenty of seating inside and staff were very friendly. I really appreciate the flexibility when it comes to substitutions here; for instance, you're allowed to swap out whatever side you want (I changed potato chips for a side salad, which was really fresh and had a delicious dressing) and one of my friends is vegetarian and was able to swap out a chicken cutlet for an eggplant cutlet in one of the sandwiches. I highly recommend the Le Mistral steak sandwich, which was super filling and everything I want in a steak sandwiches (the mashed potatoes inside? Genius. Plus, you can't go wrong with that truffle-caramelized onion-garlic flavor combination with some arugula to cut through the heaviness).

Parish cafe is a clean restaurant with outdoor seating. Service was fast since it wasn't too busy this day. We got the zuni roll, le mistral, and the onion rings. The zuni roll tasted like a a classic ham and cheese (even though it's smoked turkey not ham) and the le mistral was good, but nothing crazy. I think for the price point, you can find better sandwiches elsewhere. The onions were super greasy and the breading was way too thick.

I had not been to the Parish Cafe in well more than a decade and was pleasantly surprised that it has remained a great place to go. It was quite busy as it was one of the first nice days of spring, but we were able to get a 2-top in under 15 minutes at 6:30 pm. It is a smallish dining room and seating is packed in-do not expect to have a private conversation here, but you are not super smooshed either. It is moderately loud. If seated towards the back of the dining room, you can watch food being put together in the open kitchen. Service was super friendly, quick, and gracious. My daughter had spied the chocolate chip ice cream sandwich & wanted to be sure she had room for it, so we shared the Parish Smashburger. It may not have been my first choice, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The CC Ice Cream sandwich was amazing and quite generous in size. The That's Camp cocktail was tangy and fruity.

Rachels Hot Sister & Zuni Roll

It was good! Upon coming in we had really high expectations based on everything we had heard about the amazing sandwiches. We had the Rachels's Hot Sister and the Zuni Roll. Both sandwiches were great however I cant say that either blew me away to the level I expected based on all of the hype. The Zuni Roll was fantastic and I really enjoyed the sauce it came with but it wasn't anything too unique. The Rachels Hot Sister was good but I was more underwhelmed with this one - it was a decent pastrami sandwich but nothing special in my opinion. The pasta salad and potato salad sides were good, but again nothing special. The service was very warm and I have zero complaints. Our server was friendly and mostly attentive. The ambiance was good as well, we sat outside and it was a very casual easy lunch. Overall I would 100% come back and try something else.

Came here on a cloudy Sunday late afternoon, there was no wait. Got seated quickly. Bowl o rings -- the onion rings were unique. It's pretty big and the aioli sauce is very good! Very relaxing setting, atmosphere is good. Got tvs spread around the space to watch sports games Mac and cheese was quite delectable, especially with the bread crumbs on top giving a nice texture! The clam chowder is a thinner base. It had great flavor though , the bread on top was a nice touch!

Great eatery located in the heart of downtown Boston. Has both indoor and outdoor seating. Went there this afternoon for lunch and ate outside. It was refreshing to have a meal outdoors in this early fall weather. I think it was about 64 degrees out. There were quite a few people who felt the same because we had plenty of company. We were seated immediately. The restaurant is known for is chef inspired sandwiches. The selection was excellent making it difficult to decide. I ordered The English, inspired by Chef Todd English of Olives and Figs. English is an award-winning chef known for his work in restaurants, television, and cookbooks. The sandwich was delicious! Almond crusted chicken breast on toasted Tuscan wheat with pickled red onions, romaine, avocado sauce and Cacio de Roma cheese. paired with mixed greens, lemon vinaigrette and toasted almonds. The service was quick and friendly. Great spot for a gourmet sandwich.

Terrible. Probably the worst service I've ever had. Ordered a bottle of champagne with a side of cranberry juice for me and a friend. Just stopped for drinks. Our waitress. Long brown hair. Was SO rude and intentionally passive aggressive. First of all- did NOT know how to open a bottle of champagne. Brings us this water cup full of cranberry juice. I asked how I was supposed to pour it in my glass (I was expecting a carafe like every normal restaurant has) but she apparently had no idea what it was so I'm attaching a photo to educate the general public. She literally said "I can bring you a SPOON".... Um. A spoon? And I told her "you want me to spoon the cranberry juice in my champagne class?" She left and returned with a tiny stainless steel bell creamer filled of cranberry juice... I was starting to wonder if I was being pranked at this point. (She never came back after this hahah) Once we drank the first glass of champagne, I wondered if she wanted me to dump the bell creamer into the cup filled of cranberry juice lol. I don't know maybe we were the first people to ever order a bottle of champagne with a side of juice but please, this experience made me lose brain cells. Horrible.

The steak sandwich is incredible. I love when a sandwich tastes a little different with every bite. It's got elements of truffle, arugula, aioli, cheesiness, and the steak is perfectly medium rare. The onions were a little toasty and caramelized which we loved. This is probably the best sandwich I've ever had and I'll be thinking about it forever. I subbed the Cape Cod chips for a mixed greens salad which was a little overdressed with lemon vinaigrette but wasn't bad. This was like $27 - the max I'd probably pay for this. The Mexican meatball sandwich was great as well but not as good, and quite difficult to eat since the bread wasn't cut through enough. We came on a November Saturday lunch and there was a short line. Inside is quite packed and tables are close.

Food - 8.5/10 Service - 9/10 The options of sandwiches at this place make it hard to choose one. They have chefs of other local places make recipes into the sandwich, I'm not sure exactly how it works but the menu does change because of this with some staples. There are a lot of workers so even though we didn't see our waiter as much there was always someone around to assist us. The place is small and a little tight but still cozy and we were able to feel comfortable in the small space. The sandwiches are a good size and can easily fill you up. We got the Fox ($24.95), Rachel's Hot Sister($23.95), Bondir Brisket(23.95), Alden(19.95), and tomato bisque($7.95). If you're a vegetarian and really enjoy broccoli, Alden is for you. It's completely stuffed with broccoli and the cherry peppers were the absolute best things. We asked for it on the side as my friend doesn't like spice and it was so good. It's sour and spicy and we kept asking for more! They were so sweet about it and when I asked for more, they eventually gave me a little togo container of it. The Fox was amazing, it was pretty saucy although couldn't really taste the apple. The relish was on the side as well for dipping but didn't have a strong taste compared to the aioli which was delicious. The Bondir Brisket wasn't a favorite, wasn't bad but didn't add much and the potato salad wasn't the best. Rachel's Hot Sister was delicious, it was nice and juicy and the pasta salad was replaced by cape cod chips. The tomato bisque was a little small for eight dollars but it did say it was ib a cup. Overall was a great lunch place and would definitely recommend true Dog Fish Head Sea Quench Ale to go with it. Also has a clean bathroom.

Having felt another craving for a fancy sandwich, I returned to Parish cafe on a Friday evening. At 8pm, the establishment full, though a few tables opened up within a few minutes. I ordered the Cheffy 26.2 ($22.95). From Chef George Mendes at Amar, this sandwich had Vietnamese style braised pork belly on a toasted baguette with piri piri and smoked paprika mayo, pickled carrots and cucumbers and topped with cilantro sprigs. sided with mixed greens and lemon vinaigrette. At a glance, this seemed like a fancy, upscale bahn mi. That, however, undersells the sandwich. The braised pork belly almost oozed juices while remaining tender. The pickled vegetables and side salad seemed extra fresh, which is an odd description for pickled stuff. Perhaps the acidity of the pickling brine possessed just the right brightness. One nitpick on the side salad - the vinaigrette seemed too oily.

    Le Mistral (half)

One of the most flavorful sit-in sandwich spots here in Boston! Parish's whole line of sandwiches are near perfect! Le Mistral tops the spot with its highly juicy and flavorful beef topped with Dijon mustard, cheese, and onions. The sandwich is pricey but it is big and filling! I would recommend getting a sandwich and splitting it half with another person (pic shown is half a sandwich). I barely finished my half portion. The corn chowder was a unique twist with its hint of spicy taste. The staff is very friendly and the outdoor seating lightens up the mood. Indoors is very dark and intimate feeling. I would recommend going here for a co-workers lunch trip or a nice first casual dinner date!

When will I remember to ask server for chilled white wine. My Sauvignon Blanc was not very cold But... Sean to the rescue, he took back the Sauvignon and brought me a glass of chilled Pinot Grigio. I'm happy now but wait there's more.... My B&G Lobster roll was the best lobster roll ever. It's really a LBT, Lobster, bacon and tomato on a toasted hot dog roll. Trust me, the bacon and tomato are unconventional but 'who knew' delicious.

We also spent an hour at the King Tut exhibit across the street! This restaurant/bar always seems packed. And, with reservations for 645pm (highly recommend) the bar was quite busy. The buzz from this high-end cocktail bar is exactly what you want on a Friday evening; From girlfriends sipping their wine to couples laughing and swirling their cocktails, Moon Bar is for the classy and sexy. Abby our server is excellent! A mixologist who knows all the cocktails and can recommend based on your preference. I tried one of their new cocktails with bourbon and did not care for it. Abby made me my mezcal drink that I have ordered before...its the 305 cowboy, an extremely popular drink. A must try for sure! Note: Some bartenders make you feel guilty for saying something about a drink you ordered and did not like. But, here at Moon Bar, Abby was so gracious to make me something that I will enjoy. Hats off to her:) Food: Since it was restaurant week we just shared everything. For starters we ordered the Tuna Tartare that was excellent. Then, we had Piri-Piri Chicken Thighs that were also good but quite spicy. For dessert, we shared the Caribbean Tiramisu, which was great. It was a tough choice between this and the Guava Cheesecake. We were so full that we ended up bringing home leftovers. Oh, I also forgot to mention we always order their Curry Fries - a must try when coming here Trust Me. My husband doesn't love curry but he loves these fries and you will too. #friesaretodiefor Moon Bar, thanks for being amazing in every way. In advance, I stopped into the hotel to confirm that a gluten-free guest could be accommodated and was assured this would be handled. In reality, the accommodation was inadequate and, at times, unacceptable. While the rest of us were served scones, my stepdaughter was given cut fruit in their place, and told that was all they had to accommodate. The dessert course consisted of what appeared to be basic gluten-free cookies, misrepresented as something more gourmet - egg nog cookies??? This lack of preparation was both disappointing, upsetting and avoidable. The broader experience was equally concerning. We were subjected to an unsolicited and uncomfortable "lesson" on tea service, which detracted from what should have been a relaxed and celebratory occasion. While trying to enjoy the time with the girls, being a lifelong tea drinker and someone who has been to many times at your establishment and its various incarnations, this is something I have never experienced. The food quality was poor (scones were clearly reheated and stuck to the cloth napkin they were wrapped in), and there were notable service lapses, including being served water in a visibly shattered glass. Additionally, when hot water was added to refresh the tea, my stepdaughter's pot curdled and had to be replaced. It was especially disappointing, as I mentioned that I had stopped in and spoken with the concierge, and was assured, as they had called the kitchen while I stood there that they readily accommodated gluten-free. There are numerous places in the city that could have done this, and if you had just told me that you could not do so, I would have booked us elsewhere. I chose not to raise the multiple issues in the moment so as not to disrupt what was meant to be a special day for the girls and me. However, the total cost exceeded $500, and the experience did not come close to justifying that price point! Do not recommend.
