Shy Bird is such a great spot to visit in the summer and sit outside. I love the vibe, the setting and the menu. My friend and I ordered the sb dunks, sesame crusted tuna crispy rice, caesar salad and white cheddar shells & cheese to share. It was more than enough food for us both. We also ordered a couple of cocktails. We are agreed that the cocktails were good, not great, but the food was fantastic. I especially loved the sb dunks and sauce flight. Such a fun spot!

Pretty loud on a Friday night. And packed. I was glad we had a reservation. Our server was very nice and friendly. We ordered a couple of glasses of wine (pink, orange) - not bad but felt a bit watered down but then maybe that's just how they taste?! The food however was absolutely delicious. We ordered their combo - any one app, one half bird, and one dessert. We got the crispy brussel sprouts, the piri piri chicken with half fries half salad, and then the sticky toffee cake with maple ice cream. The brussel sprouts had that sweet spicy flavor and definitely crispy. The piri piri sauce was finger lickin good. Right on the mark flavor-wise and not too spicy either. The half fries half salad was the right call as a side. The dessert was also tasty especially that caramel sauce. We enjoyed our dinner!

Great location in the Fenway. They have a decent wine selection, and the service is great. My wife and I sat at the bar, and the bartenders were quite supportive.

Didn't know that chicken nugget sauce could be THIS good!! Absolutely fell in love with the spicy and delicious shybird speciality sauce; and that sauce flight was a great hit when you're with a group so it makes fighting for sauces easier! Now on to the drinks...THEY ARE STRONG! Man oh man, I was not expecting the to be so strong, but hey, guess it worth the money! The service was very smooth and amicable. Genuinely wish I remembered my waiter's name but he was soooo nice and chill! Looking forward to trying the viral chicken Caesar wrap and the coffees because they look GOOD!

Second time here, this time for brunch! Love the ambience- feels really warm especially in this cold winter weather outside. Also the place was packed! That great to see businesses thriving. I ordered the breakfast plate without bacon - came with scrambled eggs, Iggys toast and fried potatoes. Good portion. Eggs were fluffy but without any seasoning and they also did not have any salt and pepper on the table. I did also have to ask for jam for my toast which came in a squeeze pouch which was actually nice to just squeeze onto the toast. The potatoes were quite good well cooked and seasoned- I just would prefer them roasted rather than fried. I also wish they had omelettes. The hubs had the wrap and others had the half bird either fries and the egg white avocado bowl which all looked good. They have unlimited coffee for breakfast and lunch which seems nice for the coffee drinkers! Service was friendly. Will be back!

Stopped into ShyBird before a Red Sox game. Love that they had reservations available and could accommodate our larger party ... We sat down at 5:30 and wasn't greeted by our waiter until 5:55. When rushing to a game that's problematic. The service is the reason I took off a star. Our waiter wasn't knowledgeable, in attentive and didn't seem to have a care in the world while we pleaded for some attention to our table. The bar cranked out our drinks pretty fast but unfortunately couldn't master a dirty martini. The drinks off the cocktail menu were definitely better but the speed was good. The food was the highlight! The smash burger is the best I've ever had. Artichokes were top tier, Brussels incredible and chicken sandwich was so tasty and everyone was happy, even the vegetarians. I'll be back before a Red Sox game simply because the food was incredible and the convenience of a reservation. But if I see that same waiter again, I'll request a switch.

Best chicken Caesar wrap I have ever had hands down! I got the regular Caesar dressing and holy cow I want to eat this every day, and I could! The crispy croutons and loads of Parmesan taste like heaven! I will dream about this chicken Caesar wrap! Great ambiance and a great place to work! Will come back to Boston just for this wrap.

Ambiance is excellent. A little dark, but not so much that you can't read the menu. We sat at a mini booth for two...very cozy, at a window tucked away from the hustle. Our server made some suggestions because we said it was our first time. She was lovely and gave great recommendations. We started with two old fashions, one traditional and one pear...both were excellent. We ordered the Shy Birds Dunks (fried chicken chucks) and the flight of sauces...which includes 5 different dipping options. So glad we did! I would go back just for the dunks and the sauces. So good. Crispy yet juicy on the inside. The variety of sauces is so good! Tangy, savory, sweet, tart, spicy...I couldn't decide which one I liked best. We also tried the thumblina carrots...delicious but needed a bit of salt, and the spicy maple grain bowl, which was fantastic, and the fried chicken sandwich, which was also fantastic. The grain bowl had so many textures and flavors going on...from shaved roasted Brussel sprouts to pieces of sweet roasted squash to delicious chewy grains, to a delicious sauce that brought is all together. The chicken sandwich was on a perfect bun, the fried chicken was perfectly cooked, and the dressing was perfectly tangy...and s generous helping of shoe-string fries...a 10. And, we even tried dessert...the toffee caramel cake was one of the best desserts I've ever had. The vanilla cake was so perfectly dense yet fluffy at the same time, and was drenched underneath caramel ice cream and a huge pour of rich sweet toffee. Again, would go back just for this dessert. Check out the pictures...you'll see what I mean.

My partner and I got the breakfast wrap w side salad and piri piri chicken w fries - TASTE: 3/5 - liked the pepper jack, avocado, and hot sauce in my wrap, but was expecting more from the piri piri chicken's bright & spicy sauce TEXTURE: 4/5 - stuffed wrap, tender chicken, and crisp fries PRICE: 4/5 - knew the price points would be higher, total came to $42 SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - filled us up for brunch before the Red Sox game SERVICE: 4/5 - made a Sunday 12:30pm reservation online and the space was super busy. Appreciated that our waitress checked in w us if we were in a rush for the game (we weren't lol), but food still came out faster than expected, about 15min after ordering ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - tall, airy, and vibrant space. Crazy to see how much the Fenway area has changed over the years PARKING: 4/5 - got a metered street spot by Beacon St x Armory St and walked over

A delectable rotisserie chicken experience! The Piri Piri Chicken was a stellar dish overall: the meat was sauced and seasoned wonderfully, perfectly cooked, had a slight kick, and was substantial for a half bird size. The fries were great too, with a hint of rosemary. Stop by for sure!

A great place to grab some food during a Sox game! Quick walk from Fenway- but just enough to get away from the chaos and noise. Definitely recommend if you want to just have a nice meal before/after the game with casual vibes and some good food! We shared the chicken bites, strawberry watermelon salad, and the char sui wraps. They were good, but nothing crazy. Decent food, decent prices, but a really good time! Our waitress was so sweet and attentive, even during the hustle right before a big game.

Perfect study/work spot. I visited Shy Bird on a weekday morning for the "Work from Shy Bird" deal. Of note you need to make a reservation! I didn't realize but the staff kindly still accommodated me, but they can provide an outlet and longer seating time if you have a reservation. The restaurant itself is beautiful with a big open space, lots of windows, and a beautiful patio for nice weather. They have a specific menu which includes breakfast items, sandwiches, half chicken, and salads/grain bowls. Theres also a specific drink menu which includes all the nice coffee drinks (latte, mocha, etc) and also matcha, hot chocolate, and chai lattes. Theres also a tea list! Drinks can be hot or iced. I tried the Calabrian chicken salad wrap with the rosemary fries, which was so yummy. It wasn't spicy but has a little kick, and was fresh and yummy. The rosemary on the fries was super tasty. I tried the match and chai latte and both were excellent. Would especially like to highlight how good the service was! Everything I ordered came out so fast and all the staff members were so sweet and accommodating. Definitely try out this spot!

I really wanted to love Shy Bird after hearing so many great things about their chicken Caesar wrap. While I didn't get the wrap itself, I did try all the components separately, and the Caesar salad ended up being my favorite part of the meal. The dressing-to-lettuce ratio was spot on, and it was overall super solid. The rest of the food was just okay. The chicken didn't really stand out, and the sauce we chose wasn't a hit for me (though that could be on us for not picking the best one). We also tried the spicy tuna, which was fine but nothing memorable. I'm open to giving it another try, maybe going straight for the wrap next time. For now, it didn't quite live up to the hype for me.

PATTY MELT REVIEW…read more Iconic diner on the edge of Chinatown, a couple blocks east of the Expressway. It's been around for decades and it's open 24/7. More of an authentic this-place-has-aged feel than the typical diner attempt to evoke an earlier era. Went in the morning and went for a patty melt-- because I could. It's too elusive these days, so being able to not only find one but have it at breakfast, a double win. Double patty is standard, not an add-on, and fries (probably frozen, but lengthy, crisp and fluffy) are included. No onions, no rye, but lettuce and tomato-- a non-traditional configuration. Nicely browned patties that had juiciness. The ingredients weren't anything to write home about, but the execution was great all around and so was the cheerful service from a seasoned veteran. Sure, I've had better with the proper rye, griddled onions, and higher quality beef, but an easy 4 stars for the execution, value, vibe, and being able to even order a patty melt before 10 in the morning. Bonus points for a plastic ketchup squeeze bottle that was slightly warm. Breakfast items (eggs, crispy home fries, and pancakes) on a neighboring table looked good.

South Street Diner was one of the few places open that early, so I decided to give it a try. Parking was easy at that hour, and I thought it was kind of cool seeing a classic diner tucked in among all the large office buildings downtown. I was in the mood for pancakes and ended up ordering the diner special with eggs over medium, home fries, corned beef hash, bacon, and pancakes. Unfortunately, the food was mostly average to below average. The eggs were a little underdone, the home fries were slightly overcooked in spots, and the toast was pretty standard diner fare. The homemade salsa was actually a nice touch and added some flavor to the potatoes. The biggest disappointment was the corned beef hash. I was hoping for something homemade, but it reminded me of the canned version I grew up eating. The texture and flavor just weren't for me, and I ended up leaving most of it behind. The pancakes were okay but a little dense and doughy, nothing particularly memorable. On the positive side, the coffee was decent, the service was fine, and being open early is definitely a plus for travelers. Overall, I'd put this one close to 3 stars. It's convenient if you need breakfast before sunrise, but the food didn't quite live up to what I was hoping for.

Every search for…read morebreakfast spots mentioned Mike & Patty's as a must stop for the best breakfast sandwich you're going to get anywhere. Enough said! I'm a huge breakfast fanatic, especially a good breakfast sandwich or burrito. This is the original location that was started by two friends and has grown to multiple other locations since. We took an Uber here from our hotel. I imagine if you drive over here, parking will be a challenge. It's almost easy to miss. It sits on a corner of a brick building with just writing on the windows. In all my research I did not catch that it is the smallest restaurant in Boston at only 175 square feet. It's basically a room with most of the space taken by the tiny kitchen. There's also a little tiny ledge on the window with a couple of stools for those who may want to dine in. Customers including us took turns walking in and putting in our orders and then stepping out to make room for more people. It had a steady line the whole time we were there. Hours are limited from 7:30-2 so don't delay. Customer service was straight business, kind of the norm in Boston. Their menu is breakfast sandwiches, a couple of burritos and some lunch options like a turkey sandwich, BLT, or a Rueben. For sides, they have hashbrowns or a plain English muffin. For a small menu, they do have quite a few drink options like coffee, tea, juices, and different flavored milks including banana milk which I have never seen. For their food, they use high quality ingredients from local farms and purveyors and have their own bakery for their bread. My eyes fixated on the Breakfast Grilled Crack mainly for the name, but also all the ingredients looked tasty. It was quality eggs, bacon, four cheeses on sourdough bread. I went extra and added sausage to it as well. I also got OJ to wash it down. We realized our only option to eat comfortably was to go back to our hotel lobby to eat. Even with the travel time, the sandwich was nice and warm and the bread was still nice and crispy from the griddle. This sandwich was indeed one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. I almost felt guilty eating it because of how rich and cheesy it was. I would skip the hash brown next time. It did not travel well nor did it have anything special going on with it. Hands down one of my favorite meals of the trip that I would absolutely do again if I am in the area.

Salty Pig Pizza: A pizza with the same name as the restaurant! Who was the genius who came up with the idea of salted pig and beer caramel? It's brilliant! The salted pork appears to include Prosciutto di Parma from Langirano, Prosciutto Cotto, and Salcissia. Baking rendered the prosciutto's fat, which blends with the caramel to create a beautiful golden syrup that flows across the pizza's surface. The prosciutto was savory, oily, and tender; the minced salcissia retains its coarse texture and rich meaty aroma; the caramel was sweet and mellow with a honey-like sweetness, forming the top, middle, and base notes respectively. The arugula was slightly warmed, losing its astringent and raw taste while maintaining its crisp texture, helped to cut through the richness together with the Parmesan cheese powder. The crust was crispy, while the inside the dough was soft and chewy. The cooking time and seasoning were all just right, and the restaurant's proud wooden oven added a charming smoky flavor. Affogato: I had high expectations, but it was just okay. The espresso was too sour, and the vanilla ice cream couldn't balance it out. The almond biscuits had an overpowering almond flavor, and the flavor of plant-based protein was terrible! (Oh, this should have been a plus...)
