Ordered takeout from here and it was decent. I wouldn't say there was anything astounding, but I had a solid meal that was pretty filling. I ordered the Flat Patty Burger and it comes with fries: Flat Patty Burger ($19) - This burger comes with 2 patties and a side of fries. In today's market, $19 for that isn't too bad, and the burger was THICK. The two patties had butter and herb flavor, but probably could have done with a touch more salt. Still, each bit was satisfyingly meaty and full. It also came with melted cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a cajun aioli which was pretty tasty. There were a few pickles on the side which was a nice addition as well. All in all, a filling and tasty burger that hits the spot when you want something meaty and carb-loaded. I've had better burgers but I've also had worse ones. This comes in at "above average" for the herbs and butter on the meat as well as the amount of food you get for the price. We went here on our last night in Boston looking for some mac and cheese. After searching online for restaurants that served that, we found "Mac Bar" listed at the address of Stillwater. We were confused about that but entered anyway. We saw mac and cheese on the menu but only one kind that had bbq pork on it. My husband arrived after me and my son because he had been parking the car. Which btw he ended up paying $30 to park in the only place he could find in nearby Chinatown. When he got there he asked the hostess about the Mac Bar. She said it's a ghost kitchen that operates out of the kitchen. So that solved that mystery I guess. I thought that ghost kitchens were for places that don't have a sit down restaurant but I guess not? Anyway, the service was terrible. The waitress was taking forever to come back to actually take our order after my husband arrived and so we ended up ordering with the person who seated us. We ordered three different types of mac and cheese since she said we could order from the ghost kitchen menu which was nice. My husband got spicy mac, I got the bbq pork mac, and my son got plain mac. Our original waitress never came back to refill our tiny water cups or even ask how the food was or if we wanted anything else. The mac and cheese was ok but I got tired of the flavor halfway through and there were no sides. Like there were none even on the menu as an option. However, the highlight dishes may have been the sausage and corn chowder, a filling bowl ($9) of sweet hearty soup with a punch of spice, and the Cobb salad ($18). They were so understanding & accommodating - especially as our group number kept dropping. We ended up with just a small group, but they still sat us at a large table in the back for privacy. Had a really nice lobster roll here. Best one of the year, and of the best one I've ever had. They really packed it with lobster meat inside, so you get your money's worth, and incredibly fresh and perfect mix, After you sink your teeth into the first bite, you want to keep going. Fries were great, ketchup was a little vinegary (could go for a more basal ketchup) but fantastic overall. Service was friendly, prompt, and it was great sitting outside. It's a relaxing, upscale dining establishment. What's really nice is the coffee cups. Unlike most places with smaller drinking rims, it's great for sipping, looks classier, and love the image of milk clouds forming as you add in the dairy. For my visit last Friday, it was all about the apps! Or, as they call them, "Sexy Snacks." Stillwater does a solid job elevating comfort food classics by giving them a unique twist, and I was there for it! I had the opportunity to try the following: -Deviled Eggs -Poppy Seed Crusted Tuna -Everything Bagel Popcorn -Empanaditas -Local Apple Crumble (when have you ever known me to skip dessert!) The breakdown you're all here for: Deviled Eggs: Oh, let me tell you, I am totally here for the creaminess! Unfortunately, there is more to a really great deviled egg, and this one felt lacking. The filling was on the bland side, and while I credit them for using smoked paprika, crispy chicken skin, and chives, these needed to go further. They have the making of a good dish, but it needs something more. Empanaditas: These were an all-around, through-and-through win in my book, with no negative critiques! The chicken filling was fresh, tender, and full of flavor. The smoky flavors also do wonders, regardless of how they get in there. Meanwhile, I loved the garnishes of the crema and salsa. The citrus crema was delicious, and the salsa was peppery and spicy, just as I like! I also enjoyed the dough; it also was hot and fresh. Poppy Seed Crusted Tuna: I've had variations of this dish a couple times, but never with poppy seeds! It made for a nice crust; the fish had a perfect salt level and was cooked just right. Though something was gnawing at me, and I think I finally know! The cuts of tuna were too thick. This kind of dish relies on a delicate balance of crust to effectively raw tuna. With pieces of this size, the balance is upset. Regarding garnishes and sauces: The sweet soy is good (you can buy sweet soy sauce; it is excellent!). I loved the chili sauce, though! It was sugared, spicy, and savory! As for the pickled veggies, the brine's lightly saccharine and salty tang was terrific! Only, with fish the size of a foot-ending lego brick, it made balancing veggie and fish consumption trickier. Everything Bagel Popcorn: This was solid popcorn, topped with everything bagel seasoning and served with a bit of butter. The only thing to note is that the seasoning seemed homemade and spicy. Unless you are a massive lover of popcorn and the flavorings, I would pass on this one. Local Apple Crumble: This one was so fresh it was too hot to eat immediately! It had terrific flavors and spices within and wasn't overly sugary. The dollop of gelato on top was both sizeable and of superb quality. It quickly melted into the crumble, though I can't tell if that was by design. My only note is that I would have preferred just a bit more crust up top. The location was clean, and the service was professional and speedy. While I did have some notes, I look forward to returning to Stillwater sooner rather than later and trying the rest of the apps and maybe some mains! read more

We were surprised to see there weren't many people there, most brunch spots are pretty packed. Our waiter was nice but must have been new. He didn't seem to know the specials and we had to ask him for them. A few people ordered coffee and one asked for non dairy creamer. He had no idea what we were talking about so they suggested oat, almond etc and he just had a blank stare on his face. On the topic of coffee, when someone wanted a refill, the waiter would take their cup away instead of bringing a pot or carafe to refill. They were very accommodating with substitutions which was nice, but the food was average. The fried chicken is advertised as a chicken thigh, but it was a chicken cutlet. I decided to be healthy and ordered the Beet and Burrata Salad ($15) with herb and garlic chicken (+$5.5). The salad itself, consisting of ginger honey roasted beets, burrata cheese, baby arugula tossed in orange sherry vinaigrette, pomegranate seeds and toasted pistachio, tasted extraordinarily fresh (and refreshing). The beets possessed a snap of resistance on first bite, and the vinaigrette managed to weave together the arugula's nuttiness, the burrata's savory creaminess, and the beets' light sweetness with both citrus and acerbic acidity. Whenever we take a lil excursion to Boston, we usually stay in Chinatown. We arrived in town straight after a night shift and were tired but famished. The easy solution would be to snag something from Chinatown but nothing quite checked all of the boxes until we came across this place. I had been expecting and preparing my palate for hot pot or Chinese but Stillwater more than filled the noodle and soy sauce hole left behind. We arrived just as the clock struck noon and there was ample seating available at that time but the tables began to fill during our visit. We elected to sit outside on their patio under an umbrella. The service was great. There weren't many other patrons so minimal competition for the staff's attention who were friendly and attentive. The waitress arrived in short order to take our drink order which was a whole issue in of itself because how do you choose just one when they have titillating shit like frozen strawberry lemonade (jack, lemonade, lemon juice, and strawberry monin) the 405 (aperol, sweet vermouth, grapefruit juice, prosecco float) and amanda hugnkiss (rum, kalani coconut, triple sec, lime juice, passion fruit puree). Ultimately, I started with the purple drank (blueberry vodka, persimmon, lemon juice, hibiscus syrup, prosecco float) which was not only tasty but strong. You know, for the sole purpose of writing this review, I needed more data so I ordered the island mule (vodka, lime juice, mango puree, ginger beer) which was absolutely delightful. Tina, again purely for the sake of writing this review, also ordered two beverages. Her first was thank you next (tequila, triple sec, lime juice, cucumber, simple syrup) which she describes, as per usual, as "good". For her second, she ordered the slow burn (mezcal, blanco tequila, grapefruit syrup, agave, citrus bitters) but it didn't do the trick, was too bitter for her taste. We started the solid portion of our meal off with the burrata appetizer. They have since changed this on the menu (in a week, wow, impressive). Ours was in essentially an oil soup with tomatoes and a delicious seasoning and accompanied by something in the focaccia family. It was a touch oily for my taste but I mean, you really can't fuck up burrata, bread, and tomatoes. It appears that the new version is cold with salsa verde, mushrooms, and parmesan crackers and I hate to say it but what we had sounds better. I wanted some greens to keep things moving if you know what I mean and completely lost my shit when I saw their dill pickle salad on the menu: lettuce with turmeric couscous, shaved radish and scallion, buttery brioche crumbs tossed in a mother fucking DILL PICKLE RANCH. As if ranch couldn't get any better. Needless to say this salad was orgasmic. It was a little too heavily dressed which usually disgusts me but I would drank that ranch from a glass. Because we couldn't decide for ourselves, GF and I elected to split the salad and their creole veggie burger which prepped our palate for an upcoming trip to New Orleans with black eyed pea and bulgur wheat patty, swiss cheese, pickle remoulade, and lettuce on a toasted brioche bun and served with hand cut fries. The flavors of the burger were incredible and the fries were crisp AF. We were quite loose by this point after the cocktails and fuck it, we ordered dessert. Our server recommended the ricotta donut holes were perfect to share. Tossed in powdered sugar and served with a chocolate sauce for dipping, they topped our meal off nicely. Went here for restaurant week, after having stopped in for dinner a few other times. Our meal was delicious - whether or not it was a steal of the week is debatable. My date and I split our appetizers and desserts so we could try more things, and go our own entrees. We had both apps - the blueberry salad and the biscuits. The salad was quite small but tasty, and the biscuits were good but we likely would have picked something else if we had a choice. For the main course, I got the ritz-crusted chicken breast and it was the standout of the night. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and a unique flavor you can't get at home. Also a huge portion - I brought half home and split the second breast with my boyfriend for lunch the next day, for example. I would definitely get it again. The desserts we split too, each trying the tart and the bar. We agreed the hummingbird bar was way more special than the tart, though we liked both (before we went into sugar shock). My only qualm was that we paid $46 for these three courses, and I think our food would have cost $43 if we ordered off the menu - I expect more of a sampling and discount during restaurant week, and wouldn't come here during this week again, but rather stop in as a regular meal and split fewer things for less money. read more

Our waitress didn't know what the pancake of the day was, which seems like a pretty basic expectation. The food was mostly good. They make a very good plain pancake and their tater tots were spot on. A side of sausage only comes with two links but they are good sized and tasty. Tacos and deviled eggs are fine but nothing special. The pop tarts sound awesome but don't. They are soggy and definitely not worth the calories. The atmosphere is odd with lots of strange open space in the restaurant. It feels like they never recovered from COVID. Bottom line, there's some good food on the menu, but the service and setting make this a place not worth seeking out. Stillwater's "Hangover Burger" from the brunch menu is good, but not quite as good, and too messy ($19). Accompanying tater tots were also good, but looked like they might have come out an Ore-ita bag (not that those are bad!). They also have another burger on the menu.
