I stopped by here a few different times while I was staying at the hotel. I highly recommend the fish and chips, they batter the fish in Sam Adams and it has a great flavor. Def recommend ordering an espresso martini here too, the bartender knows what he is doing. The vibe is great here and it's a nice hotel lobby bar for sure. read more

The service sucks! This bar is in a hotel that hosts multi-day conventions and they are not able to separate the bill. That is a real inconvenience when people in a group don't know each other that well, it doesn't scream "hospitality!" read more

They charge 18% service fee upfront and that means there is basically no service. The waitress did not greet us nor asking if we need water, and we even got the menu from other customers. It took 45 min for our food to come, and the taste was subpar.I guess unless you really want to use your coupon from Westin, there are many other options for food. read more

I ordered the roasted chicken breast and was warned it's cooked fresh and will take 25 minutes to cook. Glad I waited, the breast was cooked perfectly - moist & tender and properly seasoned. It came with Brussels sprouts which needed more time cooking, too hard. The garlic mashed potatoes were delicious. Service was simple & spot on ( I sat at the bar). I ordered clam chowder and a lobster roll. The clam chowder was actually really good IMO. It had 0 remnants of sand!! The waiter asked me if I liked chicken noodle soup and brought me some to try. It was okay, not the best I've ever had, and not better than the chowder at all. On to the lobster roll, I always forget to ask if the lobster is hot or cold. It didn't say Connecticut or Maine and I always assume hot, because why do you weirdos like cold lobster on a hot bun? There were no shells in the lobster, which was a step up, because I almost broke a tooth someplace else. It's always too much bread after awhile. I scooped out the meat, asked for some melted better, and all was right in the world. Service was a bit slow. read more

A really cool bar scene at the Westin Hotel. The bar area has many table/high tops. We had just checked in and needed to leave quickly but wanted a bite to eat just to get us over. We had a drink and a charcuterie board along with fried calamari. The food was delicious, served quickly. A great place to sit, drink, dine and people watch. Also if you like they have a huge tv screen to watch whatever sporting event happens to be on. read more

Cute little lobby self seating restaurant/bar. Don't let it's nonchalant scene fool you, the food here is actually really good! Came for a quick bite with my party, picked and chose an array of different foods. Calamari, tuna tar tar, and ahi tuna poke were all very delicious and fresh! It was one of the best calamari I have ever tasted. The array of crunch, veggies, and tuna for the poke were also combined very well. We also got the chicken wings, it was a different type of seasoning than other places, and I LOVED them, we ended up getting 2 orders. It's a little bit of sweet and spicy, and very crispy. Ended the meal with a crème brûlée and chocolate slice cake, both perfect portions to share after a big meal. Can also order these items from the room service menu! read more

The lobby bar has very good service, you can always find a seat, and the absolutely best part is you're at a hotel so it's a super safe place to get a ride share home if you're saying goodbye to friends and going home alone. Another plus is that Birch bar is located at the Hilton so you can usually meet interesting people visiting Boston. As a local I live telling visitors about my favorite Boston spots. It's a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing drinks, food and service. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations. I gotta tell you, this bar surprised me. It was our anniversary, the weather was brutal and we were staying in the hotel and our options were limited. My boyfriend suggested we just eat at the hotel bar, and my thoughts were "Really...a hotel lobby bar? For dinner? Ok..." I wasn't thrilled. When we got downstairs the menu was limited at best. There were only shareable apps that seemed appetizing which was a real shame as their online menu was stacked with older, tastier items that they don't have any longer. So we sat down, ordered some drinks and 2 dishes: the calamari and the beef sliders. Calamari was tasty and a good amount for 2 people to split. The sliders....no thanks. The meat was just a wade, more like a ball, and just tasteless. The sauces/condiments on there should have been more per slider. It was just a total miss. As we are half way with our meal our waitress spilled my drink all over the table and my dress as she was trying to pick up a dirty dish. She apologized many times and gave me a new drink on the house, which was VERY strong. As I'm sipping my new drink, and feeling rather drowsy, I took a look at the menu and spotted an everything pretzel. I thought it would be a great way to sop up the alcohol in my tummy. My god, this was the BEST PRETZEL. And no I wasn't just drunk and thought that, my boyfriend agreed. It was so warm, soft, the flavors were spot on and the homemade ranch that accompanied it? My god. Just perfection. I cannot wait to go back into the city, slither into the bar and munch up another pretzel. It totally saved the night, and my mood. We did also have a desert, not listed on the menu as it changes, and it wasn't anything to write home about. Not that tasty. While staying in the Westin we wanted a late supper and opted to eat in the hotel rather than go out. Wow! What a flight this was for a lobby bar. Cocktail (pear tree martini) was phenomenal. Wine suggestion to go with cheese plate was spot on. Excellent cheese selection and great preserves and naan to complement it!
