Skinny Margarita.
Lelac S.

What a treat! Friend recommended the place and with good reason! Bartender was very attentive and really knew a lot about sports! Also played fun music and kept the bar clean. The only bad thing was that they were out of stock with most items at the bar. Regardless, will be back for the specialty margaritas and delicious twisted teas. YUM!!

We walked in to Gray's Hall and met the person at the door. He told us it may be 20 minutes. He…read morecame to get us after just 5 minutes but the seats were at the bar but stools did not have backs so we declined. He said give me a minute. He rearranged the table settings and got my friend and I a table for 2. Then our server came over and gave an overview of the place. We asked about the chilled red wine. He brought us 2 tastings. We loved. Proceeded to order 2 burgers, fries and grilled carrots. The food was amazing. Given the most welcoming greeting and service, coupled with delicious food, I could not recommend this place any more. Truly a gem in Southie!

You must order the kale salad. I am not a kale salad person, yet I have dined here three times in…read morethe last week to eat the kale salad and am already planning my next visit. You know when you're eating a kale salad and the pieces are too big and you're kind of cramming them into your mouth and then the salad dressing is all over your face? This is NOT that salad! The kale is perfectly chopped so you can enjoy it with just your fork as you talk to your friend/spouse/date or just read your book. The dressing is such perfection, and the perfect amount, no gloopiness here! Crunchy breadcrumbs add magical texture and then there's a shower of finely grated gouda cheese on top. Have you ever read a good book and as you're reading it, you're so into it that you don't want it to end? So you slow down your reading speed to make it last a little longer? That's how I feel about this salad. There are other delicious items on the menu, I saw someone eating the burger that looked so good, I also want to try the Brussels but the call of the salad siren is too strong. Everyone is super welcoming and friendly, especially Catherine, and the kitchen team even shared the dressing recipe with me. Excellent wine list, casual and cozy space with twinkle lights, a lot of bar/counter seating, great date spot. Also attached/sister company to American Provisions I believe (great spot in Southie for sandwiches, cheeses, wines, pastries, rare food items).

The prettiest restaurant in Southie. Really, it's such a beautiful space, dimly lit and buzzing…read morewith happy diners. The ricotta toast was pretty and slightly sweet with fresh peas and pickled red onions. Arancini was deeply fried and delicious. Pizza margarita was perfect. Pasta was good but a bit overcooked. Steak frites was a bit bland and needed some salt. Frites were very basic fries, unevenly cooked. Not quite perfect but I would absolutely come back and stick to cocktails, appetizers, and pizzas. It was so fun and such a gorgeous place. Also, we found lots of easy street parking.

The space is undeniably beautiful with a feminine and Parisian design. Even on a packed night, the noise level was surprisingly manageable. A huge part of the vibe was our server, Cait. She was incredible. She managed to be attentive without hovering and was genuinely friendly. She made the night feel even more special. Here is the breakdown: * Charred Scallion Dip (4/5): Good portion for sharing with kettle chips but needs more onion flavor. * Prosciutto Arancini (3/5): $20 for four tiny balls is a tough sell so I would skip these. * Fried Artichokes (5/5): Actually the best appetizer we ordered. * Brussels Sprouts (4/5): The new hot honey prep is tasty but serving them on top of blue cheese made it a bit too busy. * Classic Caesar (5/5): Lot of anchovy flavor in the dressing makes this elite. * Butternut Squash Ravioli (6/10): very sweet. This is for you if your like sweet or want dessert. * Margherita Pizza (5/5): dough is fantastic they must make it from scratch and that stands out. * Sweet Sausage Pizza (5/5): Just as good as the margherita and proves the pizza program here is legit. * Skillet Cookie (5/5): You can never go wrong with a warm skillet cookie. * Palm Negroni (5/5): I wanted more coconut initially but the balance actually ends up being perfect. * Espresso Martini (4/5): Solid and not too sweet considering there is no actual espresso in it. * Eros Sour (5/5): Unique and balanced. The food is generally strong, but the pricing on some of the small plates feels off, especially that arancini. The pizzas are a real stand out. Bathroom Review: There are two single stall gender neutral restrooms with baby changing stations. They are very clean. Loved the floor tile and they stock high quality paper towels.

The other night, I had the most uproarious and unforgettable dining experience at Local 149, and…read morelet me tell you, it was an absolute rollercoaster of delight! The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the tantalizing aroma of mouthwatering dishes and the sight of a bar that looked like it was curated by the gods themselves, thank you Hey-Suz. First off, let's talk about the food. Oh-My-Baby Christmas Jesus. The food! Each dish was a symphony of flavors that danced on my taste buds like a flash mob in stealing from Sephora. I ordered the Burnt Ends, Popcorn Chicken and Drunkin Scallops, and let me tell ya, Dear Lord Baby Jesus, I saw fireworks explode as I put that delicate meat into my mouth. Every bite was like winning the lottery! Now, on to the drinks. The cocktails here aren't just beverages; they're a full-on EXPERIENCE in a glass. I sipped on the "Good N U Mule" and the "Smoking Green," which made me feel things that I haven't since my wife left me. By the second round, I was convinced I could get here back, Cynthia if you're reading this I still love you. And oh, the staff! The GM is a smoken hot dynamo who could probably erect steel beams with just a wink. Her charm and charisma had everyone, including my grandpa, excited like teenagers. Not to be outdone, the AGM is a shredded, dark, and handsome dreamboat. His suave demeanor, ripped physique, and dazzling smile had my sister creating a lake a sin. But wait, there's more! The bar manager - let's call him "Big Ole Daddy" - is what all men are terrified of, the Mr. Steal Your Mom type. He's like the Dumbledore of cocktails, conjuring up potions that had us all believing in his magic wand, Making everyone feel like they were part of one big party. By the end of the night, I was convinced I had stepped into an alternate universe where food, drinks, and drop-dead gorgeous staff collided to create the ultimate paradise. Local is not just a restaurant; it's a life-changing adventure. If you haven't been, drop whatever you're doing and go now. You won't regret it!

Not super uncommon, but still annoying. We had a few drinks, pizza, pretzel bites, and salad. Pretzel bites were fine, cheese sauce with them was pretty gross and I wouldn't really call it a sauce more so just a block of melted cheese. Salad was supposedly fine. The pizza tasted fine but the bottom of it was practically raw. Just a very floppy/ falling apart pizza. Wouldn't mind grabbing a quick beer there because the bar itself was pretty solid, and the place was lively with a few different games on. But wouldn't really recommend anyone spend much on food, for what you pay is not worth it.
