Two egg breakfast with potatoes and sausage and a baguette
    Vanessa J.

Loved this little brunch spot. The staff were friendly and helpful despite the hustle and bustle of the place. Everything was delightful, especially the breakfast potatoes! They were full of flavor. All in all a lovely morning breakfast to start our day.

My family and I visited this cozy, tucked-away spot for breakfast. The service was great, and everything we ordered was delicious. We ordered the French toast, Salmon avocado tartine and the signature scramble. The space is quite small, though, so it can feel cramped when it gets busy.

Delicious little spot. All the food we had was delicious. Tables are crammed in but it was worth it. Our waiter was informative and helpful.

Some of this was great and some of this experience was extremely disappointing. The space is narrow and tight so be prepared to have people in your space. We sat at the counter directly across from the grill which leads me to my next part...... If you are a vegetarian do not eat anything that is grilled. The cross contamination here is out of control. I ordered a vegetarian omelette but the cook touched everything with the same utensils and gloves over and over and over again. It was disappointing. The women working eggs grabbed several pieces of meat and eggs with the same tongs too. So gross. The potatoes here were fantastic so that was one of the saving graces. I mean some of the best I have had in recent memory. I also really enjoyed whatever brand of bread they use. I had multi grain and it was toasted and chewy. The side salad was appreciated as some healthy greens to start the day. The service was terrible. The server never checked on us throughout the whole meal and nobody ever offered a refill on the coffee. He only came by to drop off the check. I would not come back here again although I can see why it is popular.

Cafe Bonjour is a delight. Just a quick jaunt off of Boston Common, this cozy historic building is filled with beautiful architectural details and the warmth of welcoming staff and comforting fare. The wood-lined walls were topped with fascinating moldings and the space was filled with as many cafe tables as it could hold. We went for brunch on a Saturday morning so it was quite busy (a testament to the good food and experience). But the staff could not have been more open and friendly, clearly wanting to make sure each person had a good experience. I can't emphasize this enough. Our brunch was great from the hot chocolate to our meals. The menu has a great deal to offer to every diner. And we loved ours. The service was quick and even though there was a line of people waiting, it went just as fast as they promised. A small post note, the bathroom is as cute and roomy as could be.

This place is always popular. Every time I came nearby during weekend brunch/lunch time frame, there's line outside. But surprisingly when I went, I thought the wait would be long. But they told me it's about 15 min wait even though it's 20 min wait in total. Inside it is crowded though. The tables are small and the tables are close to each other. It's quite loud inside so it's hard to have a good conversation. Got the Bonjour Classic Crepe with strawberry and banana. It's good. They are generous about the Nutella. The hosts are nice. The waiter is ok. What I don't like is that the waiter kept waiting at our table for us to process the payment and enter the tips. I felt pressured.

This place was worth the wait (30 min on Saturday at noon). It's cramped and we sat at the counter, and the food was amazing. The bonjour sauce that goes on the eggs is excellent, and watching them make the food was a little bonus people at the tables miss out on. Fresh squeezed OJ is worth it too. Our server was on top of it, and although it's a little pricey, you won't be sad. It's a fun restaurant with great decor too.

This cafe lives up to its name. Cafe Bonjour is so warm and welcoming. There was a long wait but it was so worth it. I love that everyone here has a sense of urgency. From the host to the servers to the kitchen, the service was expeditious not to mention super friendly. The restaurant is in a small space. The tables are very small as well which makes it very quaint. Once we ordered, the food arrived very quickly and the presentation was fabulous. The matcha latte didn't have much sweetener but was still great. The signature blueberry bowl was so fresh and delicious. It had the perfect toppings and wasn't too sweet. The signature scramble sandwich was a generous portion and was savory and mouth watering. The Eggs Benedict was also rich in flavor. We cleaned our plates and bowls. Literally not an ounce of food was left. I would not hesitate to come back here again on my next trip to Boston. Highly highly recommend!!!

I can't say dining here was the greatest experience, and it's a shame because the food is pretty incredible and for that alone I'd want to come back. However, the long wait times and crowded seating area accompanied by poor service, I can't say the taste of the food was enough for me to want to eat here again. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, we did come at probably one of their busiest times on a Saturday morning, but you'd think after having been accustomed to their popularity they'd be a little more prepared to handle this sort of thing. I will say, we got seated and served very quickly despite the initial wait, and the food came out fresh and perfectly made! Unfortunately, the servers didn't checked in on us, barely acknowledged us when delivering food or when we made requests, and they forgot our drinks which they then tried to charge us for. Generally, eating here was not the most pleasant or enjoyable, and I wouldn't entirely recommend it unless you can come at a time that isn't busy. The food itself was great, though! It was super easy to customize to your liking and the menu has a wide variety of unique french dishes all packed with a depth of flavor! This spot is quaint and certainly reflects that traditional Parisian atmosphere in their decor and dishes.

We loved this place! We were in town on a cruise, so time was of the essence in order to be able to do everything we wanted to do. It seemed like downtown Boston was lacking in breakfast spots from my quick search, but we are so happy we found Cafe Bonjour. We arrived around 7:30am on Labor Day and it was already super busy. We were lucky we were able to get seated at a table inside. I ordered the eggs Benedict, my husband ordered the 3 eggs any way with ham, and we shared the strawberry and banana crepe. Everything was really good. The eggs Benedict wasn't like anything I have ever had with the tomato on top, but it was a really nice addition. My husband liked the 3 egg plate with ham. We both absolutely loved the strawberry and banana crepe. The crepe was light and the Nutella gave it a nice sweetness. The server was friendly and the service was quick. Also a great location. Only a couple of blocks from Boston Common. We would absolutely eat here again if we are ever in the area.

This place was quite busy when my friend and I visited on a Sunday around 12:30. After a 20 minute wait, we finally were seated inside, and service was quite good and efficient. I'm so impressed by their variety of omelet options, all of which can be made vegan with just egg ($3 additional cost), plantbased cheese, or plantbased sausage ($3 additional cost). We decided to try to the Bonjour omelet and the House omelet which were quite similar and each came with a refreshing salad and savory potatoes. We got ketchup to pair with the omelet, and we both devoured the meal. The cheese was phenomenal and so smooth it was hard to know it was a vegan cheese. Overall it was definitely worth the wait, the food was tasty, and what a unique and accommodating menu!

We absolutely loved Cafe Bonjour! We ate a fabulous crepe with strawberries and bananas and a lovely scrambled eggs platter with fresh, crispy salad and multigrain toast. I also ordered the creamiest hot chocolate with whipped cream! So delicious! We highly recommend this scrumptious breakfast spot!

Hi, is this cafe halal confirmed by owners?

Can I reserve a table for a group of 6?

No. FCFS only. Get there early. It's very tight location and 6 is doable but tricky. Outside seating available on the nicer days.

Do they have a kids menu?

Unfortunately I don't recall either way but they were super friendly and flexible so I'd bet you could get some kid friendly options even if there isn't a specific kid menu...

Are all the items served halal?

Moroccan owners. I would assume everything is Halal.

Is it possible to make reservations?

No. Sign in at the door. The line may look long but it moves very fast.

Is it hard to get a table for two?

If they are on a wait, you usually only wait a few minutes. Service and food are fast, they turn tables very quickly.

Is Cafe Bonjour open on Memorial Day?

    Yes. They are open!

Does Cafe Bonjour take reservations? We will be there for Mother's Day and have a tight window of time.
