Tried Mood Restaurant in the North End and... yeah, the food absolutely lives up to the hype. We ordered the mascarpone pancakes (ridiculous in the best way), a turkey and ham croissant sandwich what had no business being that good, and steak & eggs that felt like someone actually cared about breakfast again. Drinks were just as fun vegan eggnog plus a pistachio latte (don't question it, just order it) and a pink non-alcoholic situation that tasted like brunch decided to dress up. Now let's address the elephant sitting at the table with no water: the service. Everyone complaining? They're not wrong. It's slow. Like... "you start reconsidering your life choices while waiting for a bottle of water so you can serve yourself" slow. And yes, management should absolutely just lean into reality and overstaff the place. It would solve everything. BUT and this is important, if you walk in knowing that, you're fine. The staff, when they get to you, are genuinely kind and friendly. It's not bad service, it's just... delayed service. Also, if you've got green hair and are confidently pulling off a look that says "I am both the main character and the plot twist," you will feel right at home here. I don't fully understand it, but I respect the commitment. Just thought people should know going in, just like the delayed service. Bottom line: incredible food, good vibes, patience required. I'll absolutely be back... and I might bring my own water bottle next time just to stay ahead of things. read more

Overrated. Food was OK. I got it cold and long after my friend was done eating. The server didn't hear when I ordered and pointed at the item on the menu. I said salmon eggs Benedict and pointed at it. I can't do starch like French fries and she offered a fruit bowl. Then comes back and said there is additional charge for that. I said no thanks. Penny pinching by a restaurant is not classy. The food comes out and I noticed my order was wrong. The manager comes and asked me what I asked for. I said I pointed at the menu and said salmon eggs Benedict. She began arguing with me. Asking, did you ask for eggs Benedict with salmon or salmon eggs Benedict implying I was asking for salmon on the side. Seriously....get a clue. Cold food and poor service, and food coming out at different times is lousy. To top it off, because my food was slow to come out, a couple came in and pointed at our table requesting it even tho I had booked the table. Simply unbelievable to be kicked off the table after receiving the food so late and the wrong order. If the manager hadn't insisted I asked for eggs Benedict with salmon, and not the salmon eggs Benedict I would have let it slide. But nah... really poor service. read more

Service is very slow but the food was really good. They never sat half the tables in the restaurant while we were there but made us and others wait. Once we were seated it was a good half hour for our order to be taken. I don't recommend the cardamom latte - it was bitter and is not sweet at all. I think they could have mentioned that. STEPH JUDGEMENT: Excellent food, but the service was a little slow. We were looking for a breakfast spot in the area and they had good yelp ratings and an intriguing Mediterranean-centric menu. When we got there we were impressed by the nice decor and relaxed, laid back "mood". I stated things off with a coffee, which was excellent. The hubby got the Falafel bowl, which had nice crisp falafels, and the accompanying pitas were great also. I got the Smoked salmon Benedict, which I enjoyed, although I thought the side salad was a bit overdressed. While our server was very nice, things took a while to come out. Get the orange juice!! It's SO good. They juice it right in front of you, and you can taste how fresh it is. Totally worth the $8 glass. I enjoyed my Greek salad and my boyfriend liked the smoked salmon Benedict. Food was fresh, colorful, and tasty. A bit pricey but to be expected when in the city. It was an absolute crime against humanity that I was the only person inside this restaurant! Buried in the touristy "Italian" part of town is a restaurant that is doing its own though with a unique take on Mediterranean cuisine. I got a swordfish dish and it was as delicious as it was gorgeous. The plating was immaculate. The meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I paired it with a local Cold IPA from the liquor store one block over because this place is BYOB. I was so impressed with the food that I did something I almost never do: I ordered dessert. I went with the pistachio cheesecake, and, like the swordfish, it was something special. Super cute spot in the North End with a delicious menu! We came in the evening for their dinner menu and were still able to order coffee drinks too. The must try are the pistachio lattes! We split the fried halloumi, Greek fries, and sword fish kebab for food. We loved how unique and filling the food was. My favorite was definitely the fried halloumi. We got 3 appetizers to share: hummus, grilled octopus, and the muscles, and then shared the beef shish kabab for an entree. We each had decaf lattes for desert. Servers were pleasant. The restaurant was busy at 12:30 on a Saturday so the food took a bit of time to come out, but it was not a very long wait and they also don't try to rush you out. We came with a group of friends to celebrate getting married at City Hall, and this spot was the perfect place to celebrate. The ambiance is beautiful, bright, and colorful. My friend who ordered the omelet said that it was the best omelet that she's ever had. The fries were perfectly crispy, and we loved that the portions were satisfying without being overwhelming. My personal favorite were the pancakes which were not to overbearingly sweet. Almost reminded me of the berry chantilly cake from Whole Foods. The option of a mixed greens side salad with a delicious vinegrette for no extra charge (or fries, if you prefer) really rounds off this brunch to give a light and healthy touch instead of feeling heavy. Benedicts are one of my favorite meals; I have had at least 50 and probably more like 60-70 different restaurant's benedicts, and this is probably the best I have ever had, and certainly the best when taken as a full package (side salad, service, ambiance, wait time, and TOOK RESERVATIONS!) We sat down and were immediately greeted by Fatima, who with her husband owns the restaurant. The menu was Mediterranean- although with a Middle East vibe. Fatima did a wonderful job of guiding us through the menu & helping to make selections. Everything - from the coffees and teas to the mezzas and various egg dishes- was delicious! The accompanying pita was freshly baked and spices were fresh and locally sourced. Alcohol is not served but there are several intriguing non alcoholic beverages and patrons are also allowed to BYOB.
