Classic Breakfast Plate (2 eggs, sausage, potatoes, whole wheat bread, salad)

***Opened 4th of Jul 2025*** We arrived around 8:30 AM. The restaurant was busy when we were there, but not as much as we'd expected for the holiday, thankfully! We were seated right away. Ambiance: plenty of tables for people to grab a sit down meal. However, there were plenty of people that ordered to-go at the counter as well! Food: The breakfast was good. Plenty of food. My husband really enjoyed the breakfast potatoes and how they were seasoned.

This little gem may be small but it's mighty. Well worth the wait and service was great! The Breakfast Burger was too legit to quit and the potatoes were chef's kiss! I also had an iced coffee that did not disappoint.

Beautiful little hole in the wall restaurant! I've been eating around Boston for the last four years and never knew this place was here. I love that everything is halal; it really brings a peace of mind during selection as someone with certain dietary restrictions. Everyone here is so kind and our server was extremely attentive. Can't wait to come back!

Cozy diner in the heart of downtown. The space is tight, but the food is tasty and at a good price. They serve classic breakfast and brunch dishes, my favorite being the potatoes and the strawberry smoothie! Overall, it's a solid and no frills dining location. Felt very homey and had a good experience!

We went here for brunch on a Saturday. With a party of 2, we were seated at a table, which was smaller than the other surrounding tables. I ordered the Classic Breakfast Plate. None of the food was seasoned except the home fries. There was no dressing on the salad. I had more issues with the service. The server did not get us water until after the bill came. After paying the bill via credit card, i was surprised to see on my receipt that there was an option to save money on the bill if you paid by cash. The server did not mention this to us at all. My plate was $15, as there was a $2 charge for sausage. Portion sizes felt small. I had also tried the Peach on the Block smoothie, and it was too sweet.

Me and my wife have a good time the best place.

I want to do a review of Café 26 as the best place for breakfast in Boston. The service, flavor, and staff treatment are 5-star. Everything is fresh, even down to the smallest details--everything prepared exactly how you ask, and their recommendations are a dream. A warm, family-friendly atmosphere. % recommend . Tg !!!!!!

Excellent food (the shakshouka is really nice - and there is hot sauce on the table to take it from white bread to yes!) very attentive and friendly staff and the pricing is spot on ! We'll be back

Such a great alternative to Cafe Bonjour. We took a chance since the line was so long across the street and we were not disappointed. The food was great and so were the prices. We got an omelette and shashuka and both were tasty and very healthy portions. I also got an iced oat latte which was really delicious.

I almost did not eat here, but I am so happy I did. The food was fantastic and the service was so fast! They offer a wide variety of breakfast items. They were a little expensive, but I found it to be worth it. My western omelette was so tasty and cheesy ( a must for an omelette). The pancakes were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The potatoes came from a well seasoned grill! You can taste it. I was a little upset when they left the door open to air out the smoke from a burnt meal, it was 20 degrees out! I was freezing while I was eating. Besides this minute detail, I was very satisfied with my meal from this tiny eatery.

Cafe 26 is a great last minute brunch find if you're looking to eat downtown. This restaurant is located near the downtown crossing T stop and there is usually little to no wait. The ambiance is medium casual and there's a wide variety of brunch options on the menu. The inside is a little crowded so I wouldn't recommend going in a group more than 3. The food quality is medium, but it's worth the price. I tried the chicken melt, which came with a side salad. I enjoyed the portion and the flavor was good with the aioli. My mocha latte tasted really good and there was really pretty art on top! Also, our waiter was really nice and service was really quick. Additionally, they take Apple Pay and can split the check easily.

We walked into a space that mixes communal tables, stadium-style seating, and smaller spots to sit, making it a place where you can stop in for a quick drink or stay longer with a laptop. The interior design is one of the biggest highlights, giving the cafe a more elevated experience compared to a typical coffee shop. The tiered seating in particular creates a visual dynamic that makes the room feel more intentional than your standard coffee counter. The drinks are the main focus here, especially the matcha, hojicha, and espresso-based options. We ordered the hojicha latte, which was one of the strongest items on the menu, with a deep roasted flavor and a smooth texture. The matcha has a more traditional earthy profile and leans less sweet, which works well if you prefer a more authentic matcha taste. The drinks are on the expensive side, but the quality of the ingredients and preparation make it feel more like a specialty cafe experience rather than a standard coffee stop. The food and dessert options add another reason to visit, with items like the egg sandwich, quiche, macarons, and hojicha desserts available depending on the day. The menu is smaller compared to a full brunch cafe, but it pairs well with the drinks and gives the visit more of a cafe-and-pastry feel. Service is friendly and the staff are knowledgeable about the drinks, which helps when choosing between the different Japanese tea options. The cafe can get busy, and seating is limited compared to the number of people who come through, but the layout gives it a unique character. Ogawa Coffee works well for specialty coffee and tea lovers looking for a more intentional cafe experience in Boston, especially if you enjoy Japanese-style drinks and a thoughtfully designed space.

We walked into a building with the kind of architectural character that chain bookstores cannot manufacture, with small rooms opening into each other across multiple floors, wallpapered walls, and reading nooks distributed throughout that invite you to slow down rather than move through quickly. The book selection is well curated with staff recommendation cards on the shelves that actually reflect genuine enthusiasm rather than perfunctory notes. We saw limited edition hardcovers and local and regional titles appearing alongside the broader fiction and nonfiction selection. Browsing felt productive rather than overwhelming because the curation kept things focused. The kids section upstairs is one of the more delightful in Boston, with a train running along a track near the ceiling that tends to make a strong impression on younger visitors. There is also an art print vending machine on the second floor that draws its own audience of visitors looking for something small and specific to take home. The cafe occupies the lower level and operates as a separate experience from the bookshop above. We ordered the oat milk cappuccino with Vermont maple syrup, which was worth it. The morning glory scone and the popovers are two other items to consider. The cafe is tiny, around eight tables inside with a small patio, and reservations are recommended for breakfast and afternoon tea service. Pricing at the cafe is on the higher end, and certain fixed price service formats on specific dates push it considerably further, so checking current pricing before booking is worth doing. For a bookshop that doubles as a destination in its own right, Beacon Hill Books and Cafe delivers a cozy, curated experience that rewards lingering. It is the kind of place we would return to just to sit and read with a good coffee.
