I find it strange that I was treated differently in this establishment. I was not greeted when I walked in, the cashier kept chatting away. I asked for the prices and details because it wasn't visible anywhere and the cashier said "it ranges," to me then immediately both greeted and also offered a menu to the two white people who walked in a few minutes after me. read more

I found this place on yelp near our hotel with great reviews so I decided to try it and it was actually really good. There was lots of seating and many menu choices. I ended up getting French toast, bacon, eggs, and coffee. Everything came out very speedy and tasty. read more

In the mornings at least, this coffee bar slings coffee. I popped in on the walk to work for a double espresso and a muffin. Service was friendly enough and the location is nice, located right near the Park Street T and across from the Common. Espresso was okay. I have had better with a richer flavor. The banana nut muffin had a good flavor but was underdone in the center. Maybe I just caught them on an off day. I'll be back though. read more

My husband and I were on our way to the New England Aquarium; stopped here for a breakfast sandwich and some coffee. Now, let me start off by saying when it comes to coffee, I am exceptionally critical because I lived in Italy for 2 years. I got an espresso and my husband got a regular brew. I add just a hint of sugar to dull down the bitterness. I would rate it a 2.5/5. My husband added his normal deal (half and half and some sugar) and did not like it at all. He described it as "dirty" tasting. "Gas station coffee is better". We give the coffee 1 Star. What the 2 more stars are for, are our breakfast sandwiches. I'm sure a few of you are going to say, "they're just breakfast sandwiches though..." Well, for us, they were some of the best that we've had in a very long time. We each got a sausage, egg and cheese on an English muffin. They were 5/5. Apart from what we ate, the vibe in there was awesome. Nice and friendly and comfortable. They were playing very up to date music and some rap. I had no complaints, but for the older generation, I could see them disliking that. I would recommend trying it out. read more

I'm pretty excited about this place because they have decaf iced coffee, while most other coffee shops don't. The atmosphere is funky and there wasn't a ridiculous line. It seems like it could be a cool place to stop and hang out and it's conveniently located near Park Street. It's a bit overpriced for what you get - medium decaf iced coffee for $3.25. The coffee is pretty strong - even after the ice melted, it didn't taste watered down. I also got a shot of vanilla flavor but I can't taste it at all. Next time I'll either ask for more or try a stronger flavor. I'll be back to try again and hope the flavor shot is better next time! read more

Close to the Park Street Subway stop we were lured in by the Nitro Brew coffee. Location is clean with trendy interior. We didn't have food so can't speak to that. The Nitro brew was smooth and nutty and enjoyed by my husband. They also have decaf iced coffee which was some of the best I have ever had. The iced coffee wasn't watered down at all with minimal bitterness and lower acidity. Milk, Soymilk, H&H, Cane Sugar and Sugar Substitutes available to take care of yourself. Staff was very friendly and appeared knowledgeable about the coffee and differences in the brews. Prices are average for area. Just a small note - 2 stall, very small and clean (ladies) bathroom. I got my hands all suds up with soap and then couldn't get the motion activated sink to work at all. Check the water first before soaping up. read more

We found this place on our trip to Boston while doing the Freedom Trail Tour. Ziggy's Coffee Bar has very fair prices for being downtown and really great food. Sad, this place appears to be so cute and somewhat artisanal... As soon as we walked in to order coffee, the barista had a very "I don't want to be here and you are making it worse by ordering from me, go away" air about her. She didn't make eye contact with us at all and stared down at the cash register in annoyance while we ordered, and when we asked to double check if she got that I wanted almond milk on my latte, she said "yeah I got ears". Ouch. I wasn't comfortable to even ask where the restroom was because it seemed it would be such a bother, so I wandered over and found it on my own (small and not very clean). A couple minutes later, she walks towards us and states plainly "YOUR card was declined," so we had to try swiping again before it was accepted. Now, a few minutes later a drink is placed on the counter and I ask what it is: it is my boyfriends drink, made with the almond milk that I had asked for in MY drink. So, even though she "got ears", she in fact messed up our order and had to remake it, probably because she didn't write it down initially (which is why we asked if she had gotten it). After all was said and done, the drinks were not that great, but the barista made the experience absolutely bitter, not the coffee. It wasn't like the service was just meh, it was like the service was intentionally rude, and our patronage was a huge inconvenience. If I ever give this place the grace of my patronage again, it will be very cautiously and I hope that there is a different barista with a better demeanor. The only reason we came here was because it was Sunday and the nearby Peet's Coffee was closed. *sigh* read more

The food was just okay, coffee was above average. One person in my group ordered a panini, but it came out as a simple coldcut sandwich. The poor rating is mainly due to the multiple signs that say "For table service, please sit yourself." See the attached image! That was not the case. I came here as a tourist from NYC. I usually live on coffee on a day to day basis, so I'm pretty used to it. As soon as I took the first sip of their cold brew, I wanted to throw up. The cold brew tasted like someone soaked the coffee beans in urine, emptied the urine, then brewed those urine-infused beans. I looked for the closest trash can as soon as I left the store. The only bad thing about this place is that they don't open until 7:30 am. I really enjoy Ziggy's Coffee Bar and I come a few times a week since I work across the street. I do believe that the flavor profile of their coffee is inconsistent, but more often than not it is great. I haven't actually gotten food here because it is sort of expensive for just breakfast sandwiches, but I have coworkers who have and they haven't been disappointed. We just happened to stop in because it is right across a historical graveyard. We wanted something hot to drink. They had a coffee that was on nitro which means it should be way smoother tasting and easier to find the flavor notes. Laura tried the warm apple cider which was really good as well. Typically most restaurants in a heavy-tourist area don't tend to be amazing. However, while touring my parents around Boston this was a convenient place to stop and take a break. I ordered at the bar and got a hot chocolate and my dad got a mocha. Prices were a bit high but not surprising due to the location. My hot chocolate was not too great. It had that chalky taste you sometimes get with hot chocolate packets you buy at the grocery. I also noticed while waiting that many of their milk pitchers were not cleaned after each use so they had dried milk on the insides--yuck. The coffee collars did not fit the cups either so be careful not to burn yourself. The staff was semi-friendly-- no smiles with the service. I would say this cafe is more about convenience than anything else. read more

Definitely my new favorite coffee bar in Boston. Scratch that- in Massachusetts. After months and months of construction Ziggys Coffee Bar is finally up and running. It's in a great location, right near park street station & the Boston garden. Ziggys offers all the normal coffee bar options such as coffee, tea, and muffins. If Dunkin Donuts coffee tastes like water to you then this coffee is what you have been looking for. The coffee is dark, and the iced is cold brewed- a necessity when getting iced coffee. My favorite part about Ziggys is that they also have cold brew, nitrogen infused iced coffee (called the Red eye). Nitro-coffee is the newest fad this summer, and it's a must try. Basically the coffee goes through the cold brew process, then is poured through a beer tap, creating a Guinness look to the drink. Because of the way it is made, the iced coffee does not need ice. If you're adventurous drink it black! So once again, if you like dunkins iced coffee, this is not the place for you. But if you love your coffee dark, and your caffeine intake high- ziggys is for you. read more

Mediocre coffee. Intelligentsia is a step below George Howell / Stumptown / Counter Culture coffees in my opinion. It's not bad but it is not the best, and there are too many good coffee shops downtown for me to stop here just for coffee. It's so chaotic and the staff don't seem to have a good process in place for dealing with long lines. If you are studying or need some decent food, this might be your spot but if you just need coffee, skip it. Also, I noticed that alot of the 5 star reviews are from people who only have 1 review. So I guess take their reviews with a grain of salt? read more

I came in here on Labor Day for some breakfast to go with my boyfriend. We both got large iced coffees and bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches on bagels. I think it was about $20 for the four items which seems average. The decor was cute but the place was small, it was hard to find a place to wait while you were waiting for your food. My iced coffee was good. No complaints there. The egg sandwiches were below average though. I think they may be good if you paid for an extra egg on them but there was such little substance to the sandwiches it was like 90% bagel and 10% bacon, egg and cheese. The bagels weren't great, very bready. I would possibly try again and just order extra egg and extra cheese? read more

The two stars were for the food. I ordered a breakfast spring roll (imagine a spring roll with scrambled egg inside) and what I got resembled the kind of snack you'd get off the metal rollers at a 7/11. You could tell it was made on a day other than the one I had ordered it, as it was microwaved before being served. The taste was flavorless and definitely not worth the calorie hit. Although I'm no expert in coffee, I thought my Chai Latte was phenomenal. It was a great combination between sweet and spicy. And cinnamon flavor was not too overpowering. The service was great. My friend and I popped in for a quick pick me up, and had no issues. The line was short and their brew time was fast. I was satisfied. The only real concern (or should it even be a concern I suppose) I had was about the restroom. It was super tiny. I'm surprised I even fit. I'm not sure what else to write about this place.... I'm critical about coffee shops, but Ziggy's is great in my opinion! I tried the Nitro Cold Brew and the House Ice Coffee. Both were very flavorful and the Nitro was super creamy, smooth- I definitely suggest trying it. I also got the egg and cheese on an English muffin. Sounds pretty basic, but they made it well. It wasn't just an egg patty which you will come across at Starbucks or some other basic coffee shop. It was like an actual fried egg and was very delicious. They had a nice selection of pastries, parfaits, muffins, and large croissants. They also had cannolis, which seemed random, but I never complain if deserts are available. The location was great. Perfect people watching spot, the coffee shop wasn't freezing, and it was just a great atmosphere. They had nice available outlets, but I wouldn't suggest studying there just because it may be a bit loud. read more

I went here on October 12,2018 with a former professor to catch up and have a morning beverage. This coffee shop is connected to the restaurant next door -Beantown Pub which works out for you to sit in that portion of the restaurant. We were there for a long while and were allowed to sip slowly and catch up on life. That was relief because I hate to feel like I'm a lingering and they need the table. The counter woman as well as all the their servers were really sweet! I only had an earl grey tea and my professor had a coffee. My tea was the Tazo brand and it was good. The coffee was reported to be good as well. I didn't eat anything while I was here, but everything looked really good. Since this is a stones throw away from Park Street station and Suffolk University, I would happily visit this place again when I was in Boston. read more

When I mentioned that I had asked for an iced latte, she just brought a latte made within seconds and just slammed it on the counter and walked away looking disgruntled, without even acknowledging me, or her error. Ziggy's is a perfect place for those who aren't from Boston -- like myself -- and want a place to take a breather. I needed to place myself near a Blue Line T STOP so I could get to the airport efficiently. A fabulous view of the park and some historical sites. I did some computer work here and I will say that in this day and age, it's nice to see ample outlet access! The soy latte I ordered was decent. I wish they had more vegan options, though, especially with bagel toppings! read more
