I was in town for work for 4 days and I went here twice. The first time, I got one of the Jerusalem bagels. It was so good and crispy outside. They had butter and jam to dip. I was a little sad they didn't have cream cheese to dip it in. I got an iced coffee that time with hazelnut flavor. The second morning, I got the croissant breakfast sandwich and the seasonal pistachio latte. Both were delicious! The latte had was made with real Pistachio because there were grits of it at the bottom. read more

Exceptional bakery/cafe located in the heart of downtown Boston, it's easy to see why Tatte (like latte) is a crowd favorite amongst visitors and natives alike. My friends and I visited on multiple days of our stay in the city. Between us we ordered: -smoked salmon, avocado, & egg sandwich (features red onions, capers, alfalfa sprouts, scrambled eggs, served on a house made challah roll and green dressing); the eggs were cooked slightly under easy which I loved as they were soft and the dressing paired well with the condiments to build a truly nice flavor profile overall. This sandwich can be shared between two people or one person if you're feeling really hungry. -traditional shakshuka (eggs poached in a tomato sauce with chili, bell peppers, and onions with spices, feta, and challah bread); the dish was good but I found it a bit lacking in flavor, the tomato sauce was very overwhelming and it was a bit bland. I'm glad we got to try it though as I've never had shakshuka before -pineapple passionfruit matcha bombe (matcha and white chocolate mousse with a pineapple-passion fruit compote, served in a matcha cake); this dessert was so good I ordered it both times I visited. It's so soft and flavorful while combining sweetness with just the right amount of tartness. Highly recommend ordering this to try it -passionfruit krembo (passionfruit curd served with vanilla meringue on top and passionfruit flavored chocolate); I was not as impressed with this one after the bombe just because it was an interesting texture with the meringue being a bit chewy and the biscuit layer on the bottom a bit tough to dig into, but I did love the passionfruit flavor For drinks, I ordered the iced Pistachio latte (good but a bit chunky with the chopped pistachios), and the Iced white peach and mint cooler (very refreshing). Loved Tatte and can't wait to go back and try other items on their menu. read more

My friend picked this place out for breakfast while we were visiting Boston. We kind of felt rushed during the ordering process. We grabbed menus and were looking at them but kept being asked if we wanted a pastry. There was also a line forming behind us so we quickly made decisions which I feel like we may have made different choices and liked what we got more if we weren't being rushed. I will preface this by saying, I'm not a big breakfast person. I got a pastry which was sweet and good, but to me was nothing special. I also ordered a chai. My friend got a sausage breakfast sandwich, which she described as perfection, the best sausage sandwich she's ever had, she was obsessed. She also went for their seasonal drink and got the Orange Blossom Vanilla Cold Foam Cold Brew. She was not impressed. She said there wasn't enough orange flavor and ended up only drinking half before tossing the rest. It was packed when we showed up, 10am on a Tuesday. Seating wasn't necessarily hard to find, we sat at the coffee bar, but there are people that just hang out so that seating situation may be something to consider. read more

I've been to the Downtown Crossing locations many times over the years but most recently in the end of Sept 2026, got my usual Americano coffee which they brew right in front of you and also enjoyed a blueberry muffin concoction which was small but very tasty. It can get loud in there as it's a bustling coffee shop and I enjoy the atmosphere quite a bit. Black and white tile in there and it's bright and cherry inside with many patrons parked with their laptops. read more

My lady friend picked this place out as a breakfast spot on our second day of a 4-day trip to Boston. Well, she loved it so much that we ended up coming back on days 3 and 4 too. The 1st day I got a House Breakfast Plate, which is 2 eggs (sunny side up for me), 2 pieces of thick bacon, a potato fritter with like a parmesan dusting, sourdough toast and a tomato jam. This was all amazing and only 12.00. A freaking steal! The 2nd and 3rd days I just got a ham and Swiss croissant w/Dijon mustard. Quite tasty. The lady friend raved about the black sesame latte and the pistachio latte, and she is a coffee snob. read more

My friend and I came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon around 2pm. It wasn't that busy and we had no problem getting a table. I had the halloumi and sunnyside sandwich, which I've had before and is delicious every time. I also tried an iced black sesame latte, which was delicious (although on the sweeter side). As Tatte has expanded as a company, I think the service has lagged behind a bit and they operate more like a chain restaurant than a small business, but the quality of the food has remained very good. read more

Came on a Sunday morning and it was busy busy! Tables seemed to turn quickly so we were able to snag a small table in the corner. We each got a basic breakfast and the sandwich was so delicious! The almond and pistachio croissants were a bit hard and flaky- and not in a good way. The filling was good though and not too sweet. The space is clean and connected to a hotel. Keep in mind you cannon sit in their lobby to eat. read more

Really enjoyed our breakfast at Tatte. This location had plenty of seating, so it was easy to grab a table. We ordered coffee and our food at the counter and grabbed our seats. We both ordered drip coffee, which was great. The Traditional Shakshuka was hot & delicious and paired perfectly with their bread. My husband enjoyed the Egg in the Hole, which he had never had before. I enjoyed my experience so much, I stopped in a different location the next day and tried different items. I would definitely recommend. Note: it's a VERY popular spot and it can get busy. read more

Had a great experience here! While it was busy, even at 8am, we didn't have to wait too long for food. The pistachio croissant and the mozzarella sandwich were delicious! The iced americano and the orange blossom cold brew with vanilla cold foam was perfect too! The cold brew and croissant weren't very sweet either, just the way I like it. Would love to try other items on the menu. This is also a decent place to get some work done. It gets busy and there is limited seating, so try to get here early! read more

Traveled to Boston roughly 2 months ago and almost forgot to leave a review for this gem! Food: I loved the shakshuka I ordered! It was my first time trying it, and I was pleasantly surprised how good it tastes. I didn't have too high of an expectation, but the flavors definitely exceeded what I had in mind. It was warm and came out in a pan with a piece of bread. My sisters really enjoyed the house breakfast and the salmon sandwich. The berry box was really good. The berries tasted fresh and the cream was lightly sweet! Drinks: I ordered the London fog. It tasted fine. There wasn't anything too special about it, but it kept me warm as it snowed outside. My sisters also thought their drinks, the matcha and coffee latte, were fine. It wasn't bad but also wasn't the greatest. Service: The line was long, but it moved rather quickly! The servers were very quick and efficient. No complaints! Overall: This was a gem traveling through Boston! All the foods tasted as good as they looked. Very fresh and warm. I would definitely come back the next time I stop by Boston again! I also want to add how fair their prices are! All three of us ordered a main course, drinks, and dessert. The total was just shy of $90 after tips! In my opinion, it wasn't too expensive for the quality. read more

Stopped here for coffee and a little treat after going to the aquarium. My iced vanilla latte was great. Milky, sweet but not too sweet, with plenty of ice. My wife got an iced mocha, which was very grainy and not amazing. The chocolate must've been real chocolate, so it did not do well iced. Which is fine, you just should tell people so they can order something else. We also got the passionfruit krembo because it looked so cute and we love passionfruit. In their glossary, a krembo is described as a buttery cookie with a vanilla meringue. The "cookie" was hard to cut through (as you would expect for a cookie) but when you actually ate it the texture was not cookie texture. It felt full of coconut (did not taste like coconut) and was grainy and chewy and did not add to the flavor of the overall bite. The meringue was pleasant but very sweet. The passionfruit curd in the middle was delectable, but not nearly enough. I only ended up eating about half the meringue when taking bites with the passionfruit curd. So, looks super cute, but don't expect a fully passionfruit dessert. read more

This is right along some good site in Boston, so it's convenient, but the prices are slightly higher than other locations. There are also very few outlets if you wanted to plug in. But the food options are great from meals to sweet treats to warm drinks. We did get the house platter and the oatmeal, which was a little watery but overall, both were good breakfast options. The almond croissant was the star. Despite the risks associated with powdered sugar, it was big, flaky, and filled with creamy, nutty goodness. The extra protein of almonds on top veer this into a possibly healthy pastry, so go for it. The booths are pretty close together so you might be elbow to elbow with the next diner, but the food is tasty and prepared quickly for a satisfying breakfast. read more

We were trying to see where we could have brunch for our last day in Boston and Tatte was such a good call. The lamb hash was so good. I really wasn't expecting much since Tatte felt like a "chain" but the hash so savory, perfectly seasoned. We also got the smoked salmon, avocado, and egg sandwich, which was super fresh and well-balanced. Nothing soggy, nothing overly salty. Just a really good, clean-tasting breakfast sandwich. read more

We came on Black Friday and while it was very busy the food is very good and service is quick! Food came out in about 5-10mins wait! A perfectly balanced breakfast meal! The cashier even showed us pics of menu items we were not sure what they were on her side of the screen! The employees shirts are cute too! It gets a little busy in the morning so if you want to dine in you might need to get here earlier but seats open fairly quick around here too! There are to go options too! Only negative was maybe the Jerusalem bagel in our breakfast plate was a little tough. Everything else was great! read more

Bustling and spacious cafe in Downtown Boston! I had a nice short rib plate for lunch, appreciate the variety of ingredients and greens. Had to add some Sriracha hot sauce to make the flavors come out, meat was tender but slightly overcooked and lacking enough flavor for my taste. I just love Tatte. I love the atmosphere and the food. Any excuse I find I go. Highly recommend!

Please put a Tatte in every state thank you very much. I am a sucker for a good coffee shop, no matter how bougie it might be lol! What I really like about this place is the quality of their coffee and their fun seasonal menu! My friend and I stopped in to kill some time before we caught the train, and we wanted a quick bite and of course some coffee! It was busy inside so we had a wait before we placed our order but the team was very friendly and apologized for the wait time. Once we ordered we found a place to sit where we had a nice view of the busy street and skyline! For myself I got a plain croissant and a tiramisu (because why not) and the tiramisu was just the perfect amount of coffee and dessert that I needed to wake up! Boston is lucky to have a few locations not too far from each other so you'll definitely have to check out Tatte whenever you're in the city! read more

Place is really nice and spacious with plenty of tables and even a small nook area if you want to be alone or not be disturbed while working with your computer. They have a separate bar for coffees but ordering is in one place which is beside the pastries. I ordered a flat white and a plain croissant, and they gave me a number. My order arrived quickly at my table which was great. The croissant was buttery and flaky, but I wish I'd asked them to toast it as it was a little on the cold side. The flat white was good, though I was hoping for some latte art based on the photos I'd seen online, so that was a bit of a letdown. They have a variety of other food options on the menu, and next time I'm in the area, I'll definitely be giving their Shakshuka a try. read more

I loved Tatte in DC so I was excited to find it here while visiting Boston. Sadly the experience fell very flat. The customer service was extremely poor. Everyone was extremely rude and unhelpful. I saw they had gluten free options and so when I went to order, I asked if the gluten free bread was also dairy free (I have an allergy to both dairy and gluten). The girl at the register said she didn't know and that the kitchen wouldn't know either because they don't make it here--which is pretty concerning for a food establishment to not know what is in their own food being served. Thankfully the girl next to her said they can check the packaging and told her to go ask. Well she came back and said it was not vegan--not what I asked! I told her egg was fine and that I am not vegan, just dairy free. She said well it's not dairy free and didn't try to clarify. So that removed most of my satisfying options. They were also out of a ton of stuff even though we got there at 9 in the morning--had no sausage. So I ended up just getting scrambled eggs and prosciutto without Parmesan and bread. Literally just eggs and prosciutto. I also got an iced vanilla latte half sweet. When i confirmed with the baristas they used gluten free oatmilk, I was met with extreme attitude. Well then the latte was sickeningly sweet so I made the mistake of asking them to fix it. They were obviously and aggressively unpleased and made me what was probably the worst latte I had ever had. I am almost certain they used espresso waste or something like that. My husband said "that tastes like a$$". So it was not just me being particular. Truly some of the rudest and most awful service I've ever experienced. Food was not worth the treatment and was also very overpriced. Genuinely shocked at the positive reviews, they must have had different employees or I guess I just get treated with ire for having allergies I can't control. I wish i didn't have them either! But don't market yourselves as accommodating when you are anything but. read more

We get sandwiches catered by this place all the time, and they're always bad. So, I figured I might as well try it for myself. Maybe it's just the catering that's bad. Nope. $14 for a croque madam. I thought "wow, at least they asked me how I wanted my egg" But apparently "over medium" was too difficult as the egg was fried to within an inch of its life. read more

You order up front and pick up your drinks at the bar afterwards and they hand your pastry to you right away. The black sesame latte with oat milk was great! The flavor of black sesame was not too strong, but you could still taste it. Typically a black sesame latte can be a hit or miss, but they did a really job with this one. The blueberry pastry was also yummy and paired nicely with the drinks. The blueberries were fresh and the cream was not too sweet. The meringue was also the perfect texture. Would come back! read more

Came here for a quick warm drink in the early evening and it was relatively empty. Service was a bit flippant honestly and the drink took a long time to come out despite there being no other ordering customers which was a bit weird. The space felt relatively clean and similar to other Tattes so the brand remained strong in that aspect. The tea I got was pretty expensive for the size and quality, but that's Tatte. I came for a spot to sit while waiting for my next schedule so it was a solid experience in that aspect, but if I ever just need a drink, I'd probably go somewhere else for more reliable service and reasonable prices. read more

Tatte's food and coffee are amazing, but their prices have gotten really high. For lunch I like their chicken pita wrap (it's delicious and low calorie) and my go-to drink is a latte. Their food/drink rating for me is a 5+, however given how expensive everything is, especially downtown, I docked them a star. Probably not their fault as I know prices are going up everywhere. There is a lot of seating space which is nice (but fills up during peak hours). The service is friendly and they bring your order out based on your order number. They are quick and efficient and their pastries always look very tasty though I usually stick with my pita and latte! read more
