    Raw bar was a must!
    Don N.

Our first visit to Boston, we checked into our hotel then headed out to Row 34 for a much anticipated seafood dinner. We were staying in Back Bay and we didn't anticipate the amount of traffic but we made our reservation time just a few minutes late. Row 34 was a great spot for our first meal, a large open space that was very comfortable even with a full We started with delicious fresh oysters, clams, and shrimp from the raw bar. Wife ordered the fish tacos which were perfectly fried topped with a sweet and spicy relish. I went with the seafood stew packed with clams, mussels, shrimp in a delicious broth perfectly complimenting the toasty bread perfect for dipping. Service was great, our server guided us through our wine choices and which oyster variety that was the most popular. Overall a great start to our stay here in Boston!

Amazing place! Came here straight from the plane to get some nice seafood and we were not disappointed. We had seafood stew, clam chowder, asparagus salad, ceviche, backed oysters. We had some Greek wines which are hard to find, both were great. Service was outstanding, super friendly and attentive. Ambience is very inclusive, you can definitely enjoy a nice romantic dinner or have some beers with your friends. Definitely amazing vibe. Great experience!

    Warm Buttered Lobster Roll

Enjoyed the atmosphere, an interesting mix of upscale and sports bar seating in a large open area. Good beer list - albeit inaccurate(unfortunately). Quick service, attentive staff, and appreciatively open to my casual attire. Roll was $68(!!!) was good, nice large chunks of lobster, great roll. Was told the lobster is sourced at the owners cousin's place in Maine. The reason I took off - the north end surcharge & seating was tight. The high top row I was at shared a wall with a bench seating on the main dining floor. There was a very enthusiastic guest directly behind me rocking back and forth so aggressively that both I and the couple in the table next to me were jostled and I spilled my drink from being knocked... it was multiple times through my hour there.

Seafood tower - truly a tower!

I am torn on how to review Row 34 and want to start with expressing that this is a truly great option if you're looking for good quality seafood within the Kendall Square area. The staff were surperbly friendly, the interior of this location was very spacious - almost too much such that you felt like you were in the lobby of a hotel or corporate building rather than in a cute little seafood restaurant. That all said: Would I blink twice about going again? No, I would definitely come again. Would I host a business meeting here? Definitely, I think they were super accommodating, good quality food and great options. Will this become a regular spot for me? Likely not, a little too pricey and lacking the warm comfort I hope from a local seafood spot. We tried the shellfish tower, which truly was a tower, once it was served I couldn't see my partner's face over the presentation. Honestly I think the full dish could have been one level instead of two making each piece more accessible. The pieces were fresh, raw, un-dressed, and just that. Great for a straightforward seafood experience - nothing fancy if you're looking for a customized take on the creatures. Next we had the brussel sprouts, beets, and french fries. Each of these were your very normal fried accompaniments. Unfortunately the contrast of cold seafood and friend sides made my tummy ultimately turn into a pit, I did appreciate the presentation of each and the overall selection. I wish there were at least some fresh veggie options that offered light warmth to pair better for digestion. For drinks, the cocktails are creative - varied - and overall on the bitter side but delicious. The wine list offers more bottles than wines by the glass and the whites were overall the steely sauvignon blanc style (yes, this does go well with seafood but I'm more of a Sancerre or Chablis person!) Overall definitely worth trying, a bit pricey but super friendly and convenient.

    Stringy and tough tuna tartare

It's sad for me to give this place a subpar rating. We've been to the Seaport location before and we liked it. Same experience didn't repeat here. We were seated indoor. Dark and modern. I actually enjoyed it. The outdoor "patio" wasn't as appealing though. It's nested in the alley where seems service vehicles would pass through. The food was the problem. The oysters from the raw bar were fresh which was good. The lettuce cups with the fried oysters were not. Tiny oyster pieces were drenched in stale oil... The taste was so strong that the lettuce and the pickled vegetables couldn't conceal it. Suggestion, use meatier variety of oysters, less mayo, most importantly, monitor the freshness of the oil in the fryer. Clam chowder - brothy, imbalanced. The bacon was very overpowering. This version of clam chowder is disappointing for customers who are looking for a classic New England clam chowder. Tuna tartare - wow. I couldn't believe that when I was eating this, I was hoping I got Cheesecake Factory instead. I had never had any tuna tartare that was diced so poorly. Not kidding. Check out the picture. It was stringy and tough. Cod fish had a good char. It had a hint of ammonia smell, a borderline food safety concern. Again, we wanted to like this place. We picked this place for a short visit in Boston based on good rating and prior experience. However it didn't impress.

Seafood! Yes please! Had a lovely dinner with out of town friends on Sunday night. They were craving delicious seafood so my first thought was Row! It wasn't too crowded so we were quickly seated. We wanted to share some appetizers so decided on the musscles. They have cocktails and beers on tap and a nice variety of their entree and raw bar menu. The musscles were so good! They came towering over a big round bowl and the wine sauce was amazing! I wanted to drink all of it right out of the bowl. The musscles came with crunchy garlicky toasted bread and that was perfection. I decided on the swordfish and everyone else got the seafood stew, the risotto and the spaghetti. Everything looked amazing when it came out and smelled really appetizing. We quickly started devouring our food. Everyone enjoyed their entree so much that they wanted to share and have everyone on the table try a bite! My swordfish was very good but I think I preferred my bf seafood risotto after trying a bite and I'll probably order that next time. It was just nice and creamy and really hit the spot on a cold night. The waitress was very nice and attentive and bonded with one of my friends because a football game was on their TV'S and I guess they were both rooting for the same team. We had a very nice dinner and drinks and they were super impressed with Row and can't wait to come visit and dine here again.

    Uni toast

Visited this spot with a few friends while I was in Boston--because let's be real, you have to try seafood when you're in the city! And let me just say... it did not disappoint. We pretty much ordered everything and anything, and the standout for me was hands-down the cured salmon from the board. It was silky, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Also--shoutout to the mussels. They were insanely fresh and plump--some of the best I've ever had. If you're coming here, these two items are a must. On the flip side, the crab dip was underwhelming--not nearly as flavorful as I hoped, and honestly not worth the price. Same goes for the uni toast. The uni portion was really small, so the flavor got lost with all the other toppings. Would definitely skip that one next time. If you're going to splurge, go for the oysters and the seafood board--fresh, well-executed, and a great way to experience Boston's seafood scene. Overall, worth the visit if you know what to order!

    Dream pop

It was the first experience for having lobster roll. My choice was totally amazing. So flavorful and bettered bread, fresh lobster. I switched fries to salad which was fresh too. The dream pop cocktail has lime flavored which was amazing. I will be definitely back when I came back to boston.

A very generous serving of tuna tartar

Said goodbye to a week's visit to New England last week after visiting my sis and then friends, finishing up in Boston. Stayed in Cambridge next to the MIT campus at a neat place in Kendall Square and had an excellent farewell dinner at Row 34, a spot you should check out when you're in the hood. Excellent fresh-as-can-be seafood, with a great selection of oysters, lobster, beers, and the other necessities of life. While the house oysters were briny and glistening, next time I'll follow the server's lead 'cause in a selection of the ones I chose, her recommendations were even better-"Better," as in plumper, sweeter and much more flavorful. My advice? Have the lobster pasta dish. A 5 star dish that's so rich you can share it with your dining partner.

The service we got was so fantastic it had to be applauded! Panos was our server that evening for our outdoor table. It started to sprinkle and he was extremely communicative, never pressured us in either way and managed to work with the manager to get our large group an indoor table. It was the best service Ive ever experienced at any restaurant, ever. We started off our meal with some oysters and appetizers, ending with lobster rolls. All the food was generally great, with special call outs for the large mussels, island creek oysters and the lobster rolls obviously. Would definitely be back if I find myself back in Cambridge!

    Pan fried rainbow trout

Service was good, located near the Kendall on the red line and is very accessible. Didn't have any issues getting a seat during a weekday lunch. Food is well priced for seafood. I had the rainbow trout and it's was really good, highly recommend. Would love to come back and try their raw bar.

    Crab cake with corn salad

We read excellent reviews on Row 34 and three of us went in to enjoy one last meal together before heading back to our home states. We called ahead to see if we needed reservations and were told they could get us in now. Upon arrival, it was mostly empty, attractive simplistic decor and as the hostess was walking us to our table, she let us know we had be finished within the hour. I asked her if she was serious and very snidely said 'yes, we're booked with reservations.' Wow, just wow! So much for a relaxing evening out. The server was great, she spent time describing the differences in the oysters they offered and answered several questions about the menu options. Most of the food was quite good and the calamari I had as part of my meal was excellent! There was a bit too much tortilla to fish/fixings in the fish tacos, so there was tortilla left on the plate. The crab cake with corn salad was very good and I would definitely recommend it! We didn't bother with wine, cocktails or appetizers, since we were told to hurry. The manager ended up being the one to bring us our bills to sign. He asked how everything was and is apparently well aware of the hostess's brash demeanor with guests and he's talked to her more than once about this. He was apologetic, but honestly, she needs to find a new job if she's treated guests like this more than once. Hopefully this was a one off. I'm slated to go back to Boston next month and would consider giving them another try... even if to sit at the bar for calamari and a crab cake!

Warm buttered lobster-forget the roll! Yum!
    Jana O.

We ordered both lobster rolls to share and a clam chowder. Someone posted how chopped up their lobster roll was but ours and about 10 other lobster rolls that went by us were full fledged stuffed with claws and tail pieces that I should have cut myself to bite size! But I didn't! The chips are huge house made and excellent. The chowder was not heavy creamed but flavorful with ham and potatoes. But the ham made it too salty for the person who avoids salt like me. Our server was friendly and checked on food allergies/ issues. We sat outside because we didn't have reservations but the bar is full service too. Parking on the street was free for 2 hours-watch out for bikers this place is in the middle of MIT.

As a non-beer drinker, all I can say is they have a number of Harpoon beers on tap, as well as a hard cider that I am fond of, and for sustenance, they have a taco truck that I kept seeing people carry away nachos from. The one downside is that it is super LOUD from the performance stage at one end of the seating area. I am begging whoever organizes the performances to turn down the mic just a little.
