If you're in Boston and you like seafood, you MUST come here! I came for dinner and loved it so much that I came back the next day for lunch! I think our server's name was John. He was the absolute best. I wish I could take him with me to be my server everywhere I go! He was so friendly and knowledgeable about the wines & everything on the menu. Their wine list is so impressive. And you will have a hard time finding better seafood anywhere else. Oh, and I love their playlist! The music was perfect -- sort of fun, easy-listening (but not boring) stuff that everyone likes. I could hang out here all day eating oysters, sipping wine, & grooving to the music.

Stopped in for a light lunch on an extremely hot day in Boston. Well worth it. Cool little place that packs a flavor punch. Fresh delicious oysters and delicious sardines. Cold beer was a must. Also has very nice wine selection. Friendly staff and great decor. Very much worth a visit and definitely will be back when I am in town

We had a quick lunch at this place and you must order their lobster roll! It's $60 lobster sauté in butter and nicely put in this amazing soft and warm brioche roll which was made fresh every morning from the local bakery up in Cambridge along with fried homemade potato chips. We also had the hamachi crudo, which was good but the lemony passion fruit sauce was kinda throw me off. We also had kakamora daiquiri which was pretty good cocktail with the coconut rum and pineapple juice & the glengiddich on the rock. This restaurant also included their service tip on their receipt (20%) and they told you that when they handed you the receipt. The servers were very friendly and service was pretty fast. Overall, this is a nice place for drinks and quick bite for us before the ball game. And the ambience of the restaurant pretty nice too and it can be loud here since the table pretty close.

Every time my wife and daughters go shopping on Newbury Street, I stop into Select for some of the best oysters in Boston and a Tito's and club soda. The bartenders are always friendly and the staff gives great suggestions on the freshest items on the menu. I always get the spread of oysters to sample their spectrum. Will always be back!

Stopped off here on a Sunday afternoon before heading to the airport to return to Seattle. Lovely bistro ambience with warm, friendly servers and top-quality fish. We treated ourselves to the Hamachi and salmon crudo, tuna tartare, all of the available MA and ME oysters, warm dressed lobster, and blue crab salad. Everything was incredible.

If I can give this more than 5 stars I would. We ate so much, everything is shareable. Their service was outstanding, the ambiance was perfect. Highly recommend everything

We had reservations at 7pm on a Thursday night. Traffic was horrible so I called from the Uber to say we would be 10 minutes late. That was not a problem for them and she even changed my reservation time on Open Table for us to 15 minutes later. We sat at the bar (our choice) and Alejandro took excellent care of us. The whole staff behind the bar were fantastic, as were the staff we met at the front door. The place is long and narrow and full of energy, which made for a higher noise volume. We loved the vibe. We started with a lovely bottle of Alvarhino (on the glass list, but we bought the bottle). We then ordered three different kinds of oysters; the Island Creek being our favorite. We loved the little bottles of sauce that came with them. Great way to reduce sauce waste! We followed with the Red Snapper crudo special, the Tuna Tartare, and the Hamachi Crudo. We thought the tuna was way too salty. The Crudo special had excellent flavors, but a couple of the pieces of snapper were a little fishy. The Hamachi was plump and fresh but the lovely sauce was a bit overpowering for the fish. A little dip of sauce per bite was all you needed. A big flavor surprise was actually the Romanesco cauliflower dish. It was absolutely delicious! The mussels were also fabulous. We did not try a main as we were fully satiated from all of the fish dishes we had. If we lived in Boston, we would frequent this place. We recommend trying this place!

Select Oyster Bar came at a high recommendation from our bartendar at the Fairmont. It is a casual bistro with high quality seafood and amazing hospitality. We stopped by and ate at the bar during Happy Hour (3-6PM) on a Wednesday. Here is what we ordered (at half price): - Blue Prawns in Toasted Garlic Olive Oil: SO MUCH FOOD. DELICIOUS - Island Creek Oysters: briny and cleanly shucked - Salmon Crudo with Togarashi in Pistachio Oil: Different take on the regular crudo. Salmon was very fresh. They also had a nice wine list and the Sancerre I ordered was delicious. Servers were amazing and we will definitely be back when we are in town!

I came here for the Dine Out Boston menu and it was the best decision ever! The fishes I had, both crudo and baked, and so delicious and fresh tasting. The arancini was definitely disappointing but also not a regular menu item so I wasn't too bothered. I will definitely come back, the space is very intimate and perfect for a date night. Service could've been friendlier but I will still be back as the food was that good. In looking forward to trying the regular menu.

My husband and I ordered the oysters, Spanish style octopus, and the white anchovies. Holy moly. I was so nervous to try the anchovies but in the end, I think I hogged them all. We also ordered a bottle of champagne of the Pol Roger which paired excellent. John and Victor were our bartenders and we loved their energy!

Maybe my favorite seafood spot in Boston right now! The service was incredible. Our server was so attentive and kindly answered all our questions. Everything came out quickly, beautifully presented, and so fresh. The wine was just as impressive! I will be retuning again soon, for sure!

I was piggish on the oysters Yah! The Northeast and any water temperature 40 and below produce outstanding oysters and other seafood. This trip was no exception. Little Whale, Eddie V's, Earl's Kitchen and Select Oyster in the Back Bay were close to my hotel and damn if I was not craving to be there everyday. The PEI and Wellfleet oysters were my favorite this trip. The oyster liquor from these 2 locations was lucid and crisp in flavor, the brine neutral (my preference) and the meat, melty. Oysters this time of year are so addicting, I easily had had over 7 dozen oysters this trip-- not including the sample oysters I tried prior to getting my order. Service at Select was attentive (typical of bar seats where drinks and food come quite quickly). I love the honesty of the bartenders and waitstaff in Boston; they're not encouraged to sell their most expensive inventory but what truly tastes good and fresh. Ambience is a neighborhood joint and the clientele local, Instagrammers scant. Looking forward to more visits at Select Oyster. EOY!

Average atmosphere,ok on the dishes and decent service. Added gratuity not a fan of. Probably not a returning spot.

You're most likely be sharing a table with other diners. The mussels in a spicy flavorful red sauce were cooked perfectly. They only came with 2 small pieces of grilled bread. If you like to dunk your bread and soak up all the yummy broth, ask for more bread when you order. The fries dipped in there are also really good! Lobster roll was delicious and juicy on a buttery brioche bun. So much lobster! And the fries are so crispy and salty! My friend ordered the North End Cioppino that comes in a rice spicy brodo with clams, mussels, shrimp, and 2 types of fish (I forget what they were). The broth was ok and the whole shrimp was a chore to eat. The mussel sauce would've been better. Note: one small dark bathroom at end of bar Parking is very hard to find as most are resident. We tried a variety of oysters, cocktail shrimp, and the razor clams which we heard were amazing. All I'm gonna say is, I would have been annoyed if I waited in line for hours for the items we got. The cocktail shrimp was decent - it was a good size, juicy, and delicious. The razor clams were a miss. Rubbery and too many other things in the dish overshadowing the clams. We got two different kinds of fresh clams which my husband said were okay. I'm not a fan of fresh clams. The oysters were good, but after having been to Row 34, I can't justify standing in line for oysters in a place that doesn't have much else worth trying.

Our first visit to Boston. Our first visit to North End. We used Yelp! To pick out a dinner spot…read morebased on ratings and restaurant description. Even before we got to our spot, we saw this tiny little place with an open air kitchen and a line of people almost a block long waiting to get in. My wife commented, "that's the place we should be eating....". Now our dinner wasn't bad, but truthfully, being 1/2 Sicilian, I've been eating home cooked Italian food my whole life. It takes a pretty great plate of pasta to move the needle for me. Again, the spot we picked was fine, but I kept thinking about what my wife had said earlier.... The next evening we weren't in the North End, but we found out the place everyone was waiting in line for was called The Daily Catch, and the REAL great news was they had a 2nd Waterfront location close to where we were hanging.. we snagged a table for two and had the meal we were looking for the first night. P.J. was our server and he was fucking great. Friendly, funny and honest, he made great recommendations and we were NOT disappointed. I ordered the Aolio Olio with calamari and black squid ink pasta. Absolutely amazing! My wife ordered the Scallops and Linguine in white sauce and again, it was lights out. Four days later we returned to North End - for our last day in town - and remembering the line, we decided lunch might be the safer bet to try and avoid the crowds. Imagine our surprise when we were seated by P.J., who waited on us during our first visit. As cool as their waterfront location was (it was definitely bigger), their North End spot has just got this vibe.... Now the weather was PERFECT during our lunch - sunny and in the 70's. We sat just off the street and ordered the Lobster Fra Diavolo (P.J.'s recommendation again). Again, he knocked it out of the park... and the serving for one person was more than enough for two. It was literally one of the best plates of food I've ever eaten. The Daily Catch in North end literally seats 22 guests and is cash only. There were three staff working the tiny space, and the open air kitchen and super friendly chef (didn't get his name) all added to what ended up being a truly unique experience. This place is no joke. If you're in Boston, and you want fresh and delicious Italian seafood... look no further.

Go for the full size and not the half order. You will thank me for it later. We added scallops to it but honestly the pasta itself was so good already, the scallops didn't really add much to it even though they were very well cooked scallops. We also tried the Littleneck Siciliano (which is a plate of clams in a lemon? sauce) and that was also delicious. The last entree we tried was the linguine with clams and calamari. This was good but nowhere nearly as good as the black squid ink pasta. I didn't give this restaurant 5 stars because seating was cramped, very limited workers, and the wait was long for getting a table and food. I would avoid this restaurant for large groups or families with kids. I really wish they had a reservation system but I can see how hard that will be with the few workers they have. Oh, and don't forget your cash as it is CASH ONLY.

For appetizers, I ordered fresh raw oysters and the scallop ceviche, I honestly don't know much about choosing oysters, so my waitress basically gave me a mini oyster class and I was impressed by how knowledgeable she was! She explained the differences between oysters, including how some are creamy and briny while others are much saltier, almost like taking a bite straight out of the ocean. Such a cool experience and something I genuinely appreciated. And that scallop ceviche? Hands down, the BEST ceviche I've ever had. The scallops were incredible, and I loved that they served it with root vegetable chips instead of the typical tortilla chips. Sweet potato chips added such a unique flavor and texture. Absolutely delicious! For dinner, I had the sumac-crusted tuna with haricots and assorted vegetables, and it was fantastic. The tuna was flavorful, beautifully prepared, and paired perfectly with the vegetables. Between the food, the atmosphere, the energy, and especially the knowledgeable and attentive service, Row 34 delivered a dining experience that I'll definitely remember. This is exactly the kind of restaurant that makes dining out feel like an experience rather than just a meal.

stopped by for a late lunch and it was surprisingly not busy, so we're glad we picked it on a whim!…read morethe lobster roll was quite pricey at $55 and was tasty, but the size was not worth the price. oysters were also a little pricey as well but they had a great selection. the clam chowder was good, but again, pricey for the portion size. service was great, and we're happy with the little postcard they gave us at the end of the meal.
