The only redeeming thing about this place is the charming waitstaff. The food is meh and the beer is overpriced. Skip it!

    Great wings are served here!

Great beer offerings and fantastic wings in the heart of Boston theater district. Great spot for World Cup games (next time)

Stopped in for a couple of brews. Didn't try the food. Bartender was courteous. They had a number of good brews with ABV's running low to high. Nice selection of food on the menu too.

Came to Democracy Brewing for a drag show in the back room. It's a neat lil spot! I love that the big dramatic doors can close & create a private-feeling environment. The rest of the brewery just melts away. There's a satellite bar in the back room, too. That blue raspberry seltzer is really electric. Unfortunately, the night I was there, the kitchen randomly closed kinda early. I hadn't eaten anything & had come from Providence, so I was starving. A little blip in their service, no big deal, but a big blip for me.

Had lunch here and this was our first visit. Started off with a flight, all beers were solid, but no beer blew me away. I had the Crispy Cod sandwich with fries, overall fairly good sandwich. My wife had the ultimate burger and she really enjoyed it. The place inside is done very well and is a nice spot to dine and drink near The Commons. Service was good throughout our visit.

Democracy Brewing is conveniently located along the Freedom Trail (near Granary cemetery where John Hancock, Sam Adams, and Paul Revere are buried) The facility itself is long and rather narrow, moderate amount of seating and a long bar to drink at. I'm a basic girl when it comes to beer and I believe you can tell a lot about a brewer by testing the most basic of brews- a simple lager. Democracy did not disappoint on that front! Service was fast and friendly, the beer was crisp, clean, and tasty. I did find the setting itself a little spartan, but this is a personal aesthetic thing- I was itching to grab a paintbrush and some wall hangings to be honest. Would I go back again? Totally!

Great spot to grab a bite and a refreshing beer in the downtown Boston area! Lots of beers on tap to choose from, super quick and friendly service, and a variety of delicious options on the food menu to choose from if looking for a shareable plate or some dinner with friends! The place is pretty large with ample seating, it can be a bit loud but overall great for families, big groups and the like. My tacos were absolutely delicious!! I was so pleasantly surprised.

Was staying in Back Bay and looking for a neighborhood brewery. Democracy brewing popped up so I wandered over. The taproom was larger than I expected. I ordered a flight, two of their hazy IPAs, a lager and their key lime pie sour. All the beers were really good but I especially liked the hazy IPAs. Staff was friendly and service was quick. If you're near the Boston Common and looking for a beer, give this place a chance.

Cool little place located just off from the Boston common area. Their tap selection offers a little bit of everything and this is a great brewery because it offers food as well. Service was top-notch and the location is absolutely beautiful.

Came here for dinner around 5 on a Friday before seeing The Nutcracker at the Boston Opera House and it was pretty empty, food was decent. Vibe: Good sized bar, one large table in the middle but lots of smaller tables around, event space. Bathrooms downstairs were pretty grungy. Service: Very good, our server was super attentive. Drinks: They have beer, seltzer, and mocktails. I tried a mocktail and it was way over the top sweet, otherwise the flavor was alright. Food: Bao buns - tasty filling, buns cracked and a little dry in spots Fish taco - very good Mac n' cheese - sauce was a bit watery but it was DELICIOUS Accessibility - Like 10 feet away from Downtown Crossing and close to Park St. stops. Value: Prices were fine for the food quality and quantity Overall this was a solid place to grab and meal, would recommend the fish tacos.

This was a great brewery stop in Boston! Inside is super clean and the staff was amazing. The so pitted beer is fantastic and we enjoyed trying several others too.

I've been here a few times and am always impressed by their menu and food! I can't speak to the beer but the seltzer cocktails are good - the Blueberry Bestie is my favorite. This time I had the tofu dish off their new menu, I thought it was pretty good, but I could have done with more cucumber slaw and teriyaki sauce. Either way I would definitely go back!

You can immediately tell this place takes pride in what they do, especially when you see the chefs in action. Watching them work with the freshly made dough and expertly handle the pizza oven added such a fun and authentic touch to the experience. The food was absolutely incredible. The pizza was hands down one of the best we've had--perfectly crisp crust, fresh ingredients, and full of flavor in every bite. We also ordered the cucumber salad, which was refreshing, light, and the perfect complement to the richness of the pizza. Everything about our visit felt thoughtfully done, from the quality of the food to the energy of the space. If you're in Boston and looking for a spot with amazing pizza, fresh ingredients, and a great vibe, The Salty Pig is a must-visit. We'll definitely be back! While the kitchen delivered a solid meal, the service was so profoundly disappointing that it completely overshadowed the food. The culinary side of things easily earns a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars. We ordered a wide variety of items to share, and the highlights included: * The Pizzas: Creative flavor combinations with fresh, high-quality toppings and fantastic crusts. * The Bucatini Pasta: Perfectly cooked and packed with rich flavor. * The Asparagus Appetizer & The Chicken Milanese: Both executed well, flavorful, and cooked to a high standard. Unfortunately, the front-of-house experience was uniformly horrible. For a large party, hospitality can make or break the night, and our server missed the mark at every single turn: * Argumentative & Dismissive: He actively argued with our host regarding an appetizer that had been ordered in advance. When asked about vegetarian substitutions for a sold-out pasta dish, he curtly replied, "Pasta with butter is all we can do"--despite the fact that we could clearly see a wide variety of fresh vegetables being used right on their pizzas. * Inattentive: Dirty dishes piled up on our table, and when we politely asked for them to be cleared, he claimed he needed to get help and walked away completely empty-handed. Our drink orders were rarely checked on or refilled. * Rude to Guests: He displayed visible attitude and put-off body language whenever anyone asked a simple question. This peaked when he was outright rude to one of the young women in our party who simply wanted to put her order in a bit early because she had to leave before the rest of the group. It is a real shame because the ingredients and the kitchen's output are genuinely good. However, between the hostile attitude and the lack of basic service standards, we unfortunately won't be rushing back.

We had just cruised the nearby mall center thingy and were hungry on our last night in Boston. We saw the sites and did the things. Boston is a one of a kind place for sure. This was the choice. It was a great choice! Beautifully decorated and oh so chill inside. We have a thing that we do at places with great appetizers. We just order a bunch of those and feast. That's what we did here! We started with some raw oysters. They were very nice indeed. Island Creek Oysters from Duxbury MA. is where they came from. We love the little local Junts a lot and had them all over the northeast while we were there. We also had Crab Rangoon Dip. Very good, lots of fresh lump crabmeat, with a house chili crisp, scallions, and wonton chips. Loved it! They we had some fantastic mussels to close the deal! The flavor was amazing! I wish I could have them every single day! We also had a bowl of BPH Clam Chowder. CC is one of my favorite things and this place did not disappoint in any way! Delicious!! The server was great. She took great care and made our last night in Boston an unforgettable experience. If you are near, you should go right now! Why aren't you there yet? '26 - 108

We had a 7:15 reservation on a Friday night. We arrived at 7:05, and the restaurant was FULL. The hostess greeted us and told us our table was being prepared. I am happy to say we were seated on time at a beautiful table for 4. The decor and atmosphere were really beautiful. It had a strong neighborhood feel that is remarkably unique. Our server introduced herself and took our drink order. My wife had a tropical Negroni, and I ordered a Vieux Carré. The drinks were generously sized and well made. We ordered our meals. We started with Burrata Toast and Oysters Rockefeller. The oysters were placed on a covered plate to contain the smoke. The presentation was only eclipsed by the oysters' flavor. The burrata toast was large enough to share between the four of us. The presentation was also beautiful, and the flavors were superb. Our entrees included: herb-crusted halibut, steak frites, the signature 1928 burger, and a gorgeous short rib with some fabulous crispy Brussels sprouts. We shared a single Sticky coffee pudding for dessert. All I can say is that the food and libations were superb, and the service was superb. It is not inexpensive, but no more so than any upscale restaurant in Boston. I would take the few recent negative reviews with a grain of salt. I have spent more and received less at a couple of spots in Boston. We will certainly return to 1928. I would love to try eating at the bar on our next visit.

The decor and ambiance are gorgeous. I had two cocktails: the lychee martini and the 1928, both were delicious and well portioned with spirits. The service was fantastic. We never had to ask for our glasses to be refilled, our waiter was attentive and professional. My husband had indicated on the online reservation that we were celebrating a birthday, and that was the only mention of our celebration. And yet when the dessert came out, it was a happy birthday, custom dessert. So without having to remind a soul, the team remembered and incorporated the celebration without having to be asked or reminded. Phenomenal attention to detail.
