10/10 food every time, the steak Caesar wrap is amazing! The staff is extremely friendly. This place is a must if you are in the south end

Best chicken salad bagel in Boston! The staff here are beyond amazing and make you feel very welcome. Prices are unreal!! Practically all sandwiches/wraps on the menu are $10 or less. Can't recommend this place enough! They've been open 41 years in the South End, support local!

Between doctor's appointments in the city, I needed a bite to eat but nothing too heavy, just something to hit the spot. I ordered a chicken Caesar wrap with grilled onions, extra croutons, cheese, and dressing (cut in half, of course). My husband and I split it, and let me tell you, it was the bomb.com, fresh, flavorful, and just what we needed. The service was fast and friendly, the price was right, and the vibe was on point. Next time, I'm adding banana peppers for that extra kick. Perfection incoming! Woot woot!

Billy's is such a hidden gem and I wish I knew about it so much sooner! I've ordered takeout from them a couple times now and the service is incredible, food is delicious, and it's reasonably priced. This restaurant feels very old-timey and homey, a real local's spot. What has me hooked is their chicken caesar wrap, which I order with crispy buffalo chicken, which really brings it up a notch. The wrap is incredible and surprisingly filling, with the perfect amount of each ingredient. The fries were nothing special (wish they added some seasoning) but portions were great. I can't wait to try more sandwiches from this joint!

Billy's Sub Shop holds a special place in my heart. My friends and I visited Boston in 2022 and loved this joint. When I recently visited in Oct 2024 I had to go back. This place is a true Boston gem. The food is a diner vibe - bagels, sandwiches, etc., but I think the service and people of Billy's is what makes it so special. You can tell that locals love this place with construction workers and working class people cycling through. It's also one of the only place I've visited that treats its customers as if they're not located in a major US hub - when we ordered out food they told us to pay after we were done eating operating on an honour type system. This place is worth visiting.

Wow! The subs are huge and reasonably priced. Short walk from my office and it's obvious this place is popular. Around 12pm on a Friday, they were rocking. Got a custom chicken cutlet sub and it was loaded. Made to perfection and the nice lady who wrapped and handed me my lunch mentioned, "I hope you're hungry." Now I know I wasn't lol! Good bang for your buck. One sub is enough to share or leave half for later! Recommended if you're in the Back Bay area.

I thought everything was quite balanced. The sandwich was about $21. Which I thought was reasonable because it was big enough to feed two people. There werent much of a wait when I was there, so service was quick. You order at the counter and they make your sandwich. Just tell them what you want and Bada Bing, Bada boom: you got your sandwich in a couple of minutes. They have seating inside and out. It was a nice day so I chose to sit outside. It is a good sandwich. It's a pretty great sandwich, actually. I like the Boss, but there are many great options. There are just two things to keep in mind: 1) it's relatively expensive (though doable) 2) the sandwiches are quite rich and salty, often relying on a flavorful cream element (truffle cream, pistachio cream, etc.) As a result, I probably wouldn't go every day or even every week. But a once-a-month cadence or so would be great. Try it!

But I'm actually writing about the company's website and phone recording. Once, on a prior holiday, and today due to a winter storm, I wasn't sure if the restaurant was open. In both cases (where the restaurant turned out to be closed), the website (appropriately) didn't allow online orders, and (more importantly) THE OUTGOING PHONE RECORDING WAS UPDATED WITH CURRENT INFORMATION. In an era where businesses barely have phone numbers to call, or employees who answer with something other than 'hello', is rare (and by the way, this is the fault of management if they don't properly train their staff). THANK YOU FOR HAVING YOUR SHIT TOGETHER IN COMMUNICATING YOUR HOURS TO THE PUBLIC. I, for one, appreciate it.

It was the gold standard for a real sandwich in the city. Sadly, the magic has faded. Between the soaring prices and the shrinking portions, the value just isn't there anymore. You can taste the "corner-cutting"--the flavors aren't as bold as they used to be, and the sandwiches feel noticeably smaller even though the cost has increased exponentially - I mean $30 for a sammy?! It should have gold in it! Even then, I'd keep coming once in awhile if the service was worth it. but honestly - the staff seems burnt out even bright early in the morning. It's hard to justify the premium price for a shadow of what this place used to be.

We almost felt that we were inconveniencing the workers and the wait time is absurd for in person orders. But I have to give credit when it's due, this was by far one of my favorite sandwiches although they are pricey, you can easily feed a party of four with a nice bag of chips on the side. We were blessed with being able to try the table sandwich. The focaccia was fresh along with the mozzarella and arugula. Since we made an online order which quoted us 45 minutes, our sandwich was ready in 20 so unfortunately, the chicken cutlet was not as fresh as we would've liked. Sidenote, the first day we attempted to order in person they quoted us an hour, so we decided to place an order of the following day. Highly recommend placing the order and staying local to be safe. Despite all the sandwiches, well worth the weight, just don't have high expectations for service We love the ambience of a little Italian market, and it was very well kept

While you can order there, it does seem like it takes some time for the sandwiches to be made. There is a sign saying that for the weekends to expect up to an hour wait for your sandwich. That being said, I ordered ahead online and my sandwich was ready when I got there. (This was a Thursday afternoon). I got the vodka chicken Parm after seeing it online and it definitely lives up to the hype. And yes, it is ~$30. The sandwich is huge. It has huge cutlets in it which are very filling, and perfectly made. It ended up being enough for two people, so find a person to share it with! The vodka sauce in the sandwich was sooooo good, definitely one of the best I've found in boston. They also provide you with a whole container of sauce to dip your sandwich into (highly recommend doing that). What lost the star is that I felt there wasn't enough basil. For that huge sandwich, there was actually very few bites with basil. I wish there was more of it, and I also wish there was some other green in there like arugula. Other than that, it's a great sandwich. I'd definitely get this again!

I've eaten here before (it's a small area, but does have a lot of seating) but normally I get it as take out. The cafe itself is super casual, it's the perfect place to pop into during lunch or after a walk. My food is always ready on time which is nice, and when I've eaten there I'm usually able to find a seat. The spinach tortellini with the pesto cream sauce is my absolute favorite- it's a HUGE portion and so delicious. It usually lasts me at least 2 meals. The bread they include is also great! I like to dip it in the sauce. The past time I got Dino's I accidentally ordered spinach ravioli instead of tortellini...that was my bad. HOWEVER I think I might have found my new favorite? The raviolis are huge and so fat. I'm talking like 1/2 inch - 3/4 inch thick. There is so much stuffing and the spinach ricotta mix tastes so fresh and delicious...it's a must try. I've also gotten the eggplant parm before, and the fettuccini Alfredo. Both were also delicious. I've never had any of the sandwiches, but if they are anything like their pastas then I'm sure they are great! The bang for your buck here is also great which is nice. Highly recommend! To quench my thirst, I opted for a Storrow Jam libation- a blueberry, vodka, sparkling water, lemon flavored drink. Absolutely refreshing and well presented! My pal ordered their spin on a Cuban and swapped out the chips for the dill pasta side. He loved it so much that it was gone on minutes. Being a fan of ground meats, I opted for the Hajj, a ground lamb, tzatziki, Mediterranean style sandwich. It was well flavored and large, and came with a side salad.
