Came to The Salty Pig for dinner around 5pm on a Saturday and got lucky with immediate seating despite not having a reservation. We ordered the Salsiccia pizza and the linguine. The linguine was on the smaller side portion-wise, but it came loaded with mussels and shrimp. The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the sauce had a nice tangy, flavorful profile that really stood out. The Salsiccia pizza was good--plenty of toppings for its size and a well-balanced amount of cheese and sauce. What kept it from being great, if I'm being a bit hyper critical, was the crust. It leaned too doughy and lacked the crispness and airy texture you'd expect; the closest comparison I can think of is something like an Olive Garden breadstick. Originally wanted to come here to try their pasta, but unfortunately wasn't able to make the timing to arrive during dinner. Instead I ordered their prosciutto board and got their prosciutto, sausage, and pimento cheese. The waiter explained that most of their ingredients are fresh from the local area, and certain ingredients are imported from Italy. Honestly, it was just a great board overall. The prosciutto was soft and had a delicate texture to it. The bread was toasted, but not crunchy enough to make it difficult to pair with the cheeses or meat. From the moment we walked in the service was amazing. The hostess sat us right away and we were able to order fairly quickly. Our server was kind offered options and was patient with our order, especially since we had children that we were ordering pizza. The Salty Pig - A Conference Lunch Success Story A number of my friends and I found ourselves at The Salty Pig on the heels of a conference we were all attending in Boston in November 2025. During lunch on that Friday, the conference had chosen not to serve lunch, and so all of us were looking for a place to eat. As a Yelp Elite, I took upon the task of finding a restaurant for us and landed on The Salty Pig. As often happens, places around the conference venue can get busy and it's often hard to get a spot. The Salty Pig was also rather busy, but mercifully they were able to get us a table. And kudos to the server--once the guests at an adjoining table left, she dragged that table over to where we had already been seated and made us even more comfortable. The Food In terms of food, this is what the seven of us got: a Build Your Own Board for the table, followed by either a pizza or a salad bowl for each one of us. Between the seven of us, we got the Salty Pig pizza, the Funghi, the Margherita, the Soppressata, a beet salad, a Tuscan Chicken Grain Bowl, and a mixed greens salad. All of the items were priced around $20 each, and along with the Build Your Own Board, the food came to $151 for the table, with taxes adding another $11 to a total of $162. In terms of taste, I tried out several of the pizzas--in particular the Salty Pig, the Funghi, and the Margherita--and found them all to be very good. This also proved to be a lot of food and had we known better, we might have been better off ordering either five or six items and splitting them, rather than having one item for each of us. The Service Our server was very nice. She gave us a pitcher of water that made it easier on us to have water throughout most of our meal. Even though there were seven of us in the party, she did not add an automatic 18% gratuity to our bill. And if all of that were not enough, she also split the bill seven ways, giving us the option for all of us to pay with our credit cards, which we did as I recall. Also perhaps worth mentioning is that one of our friends has a vision impairment and took a long time to read through the menu. Nonetheless, our server was very patient with her and did not once betray a sense of frustration or impatience. All in all, good food, but even better service, and all of that comes at a pretty reasonable price for such an expensive part of Boston. As a result, it gets a 5-star from me. read more

Super convenient location right across from the Amtrak stop in BBY, with options for pizza, pasta, and meat/cheese boards. Great if you love pork, though, unexpectedly, they also have abundant veggie options under the Starters, including an amazing gem lettuce salad with fennel, parmesan, and bread crumbs, as well as a beet, chive, pistachio, and arugula combo. If none of those is calling your name, the appetizers include a burrata, a Caesar grilled romaine, as well as roasted root veggies. Super refreshing, especially when it's a gazillion degrees outside. The salsiccia pizza was, for me, the weakest of the dishes we ordered - nothing offensive or mind-blowing, but the meatiness ended up being one-note after a few bites (and I would've wanted more of the spicy cherry peppers!). The crust of the pizza comes lightly dusted in semolina flour. If you nab a seat indoors by the bar area, you can watch the pizza-makers doing their thing. For two starters, one pasta, and one pizza, for 3 people, the total came out to about $78 before tip. Not bad, especially given this stretch of the Back Bay neighborhood, where the options mostly consist of either fast casual or high-end places. Food was great we ordered all the meats from the charcuterie menu, some cheese, the half chicken, burata, Cesar salad, spaghetti, meatballs, and 2 pizza I think my favorite was the salad and the sausage pizza the egg on the salty pig pizza was too much for me but that's just not my style of pizza. Our server was more than helpful when it came to picking the cheese and the accompaniments. We then shared two pizzas, one with meat and one without. The location have a tall ceiling and decorated with some graffiti of pigs on their one mural wall. The rest of the place are nice and cozy. I came to this location for the first time with coworkers and was blown away by the food we ordered. We ordered a make your own charcuterie board, the burrata appetizer, the polpette meatballs, and one of the pizzas. To start off, we ordered some drinks and I got the Pom 75 mocktail which was delicious. My coworkers all ordered wines and our server let them taste the wines they ordered first to make sure they would like it. Its a good place for big groups and small intimate dates. I really enjoy their outdoor seating during the summer, its really nice because you can people watch since the restaurant is on a busy street. We have tried a few of their pizzas which are thin crust and are easily sharable. The ingredients taste fresh and the pizzas are extra cheesy. The crust is always nice and crunchy which I love. They have a variety of their own pizza creations or you can build your own. Their salads are also very good, they usually have seasonal ones on their menu and we have tried a few of them and they are big enough to share for two people which goes well if you are sharing a pizza as well.
