Lovely intimate restaurant in North End. A variety of items on the menu, there's fish, chicken, veal, seafood, dessert, etc. we ordered Belgian frites, calamari, Pollo Bella Bocca, and Ravioli Aragosta. Everything was very filling, we loved the handmade pasta, seasoning was perfect and our waiter Nacho was very attentive and made great suggestions. I would definitely return if ever in Boston again. The Pollo Bella is enough for two or take home for another meal. The restaurant is two levels, downstairs is the bar and a bit more lively than upstairs. We sat upstairs and the Table 77 balcony is also located upstairs, and requires advance reservations and a deposit. It is one table for two overlooking North End, definitely a nice setting for those that want a quieter, more intimate dining experience. The food was good, but I was disappointed with the service. I didn't expect my reservation to be checked again after I had already been seated at the table. Having to verify it a second time felt unnecessary and disrespectful. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I wouldn't recommend the restaurant. We went to Tresca after an afternoon of walking around Seaport and North End. It was a hot day and they were doing their best to cool the place down. We were seated near the mini split upstairs, which others were avoiding, but I preferred. Our server is just two months on the job and very personable and attentive. My husband ordered the Dine Out dishes and I had the surf and turf special. His was good. A solid 3 out of 5. I was surprised to see the tomatoes weren't local, in season ones. That was a lost opportunity. My steak was delicious. My half lobster tail was tiny (think large shrimp), but cooked properly. My lobster risotto was crunchy and inedible. The chef came by and asked, so I told him. He said, "let me check" then scurried off, never to revisit. The server asked (after having raved about the risotto, which is why I chose the $75 meal) and I told her. She said she'd alert the chef, but I told her he already knew and did nothing about it. She apologized. I had them pack up my crunchy, pricy risotto. Meanwhile, I saw the chef at a nearby table bragging about his amazing risotto. I let the server know how uncool that was. If he is planning on entirely ignoring me, just say, we will keep that in mind for next time and walk away. Instead, he acted like something was going to happen, then disappeared. I'm not looking for a free meal. But the appropriate thing to do would be to bring a small bowl of decent risotto. The good news is I cooked it for lunch the next day and it was actually tastier than I expected. I'd give them two stars, but hubby insisted it's more a three, so there you go. read more

Tresca was our first stop after arriving in Boston. I made reservations through Open Table and the process at the restaurant was seamless! Some of our group were running a bit late (flight delayed) and they were extremely accommodating. The bar area downstairs is cozy & intimate. We were seated at a table upstairs near the fire, which was perfect for our group from Texas. We started with the antipasto platter, which was delicious. We then had a seafood pasta, chicken parm, grilled chicken with pasta...everything was so good. Our server was amazing with recommendations, including wine. Elite experience, great vibe, delicious food. This place feels authentic when you walk in: it's very cozy and on two floors. We dined on the second floor and had an amazing server. He was friendly, quick, and attentive. I had the cappellini which was delicious. The shrimp were buttery, almost melt in your mouth texture. It was one of the tastiest scampis I've had. The sauce was delectable. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, including the bread we were initially given when we sat at the table. I came here for a work dinner with a party of 20, and I'm honestly shocked at how smoothly everything went. They sat us quickly, handled the whole group with ease, and the service was absolutely top notch attentive, friendly, and impressively organized for such a large table. We basically ordered one of everything on the menu, and the food was phenomenal across the board. The pasta dishes were the clear standouts, perfectly cooked and insanely flavorful. But the showstopper was the pumpkin chicken risotto. It came inside an actual roasted pumpkin and it was unforgettable creamy, rich, and just such a cool presentation. We arrived in Boston and went straight to Tresca to meet friends. Our flight was delayed, and they were gracious enough to extend the reservation. They were also so accommodating in checking our carry-on luggage in the coat closet. The bottle of Chianti that we ordered upon the recommendation of the waiter was delicious. We also started with an antipasto platter and then we had several different main courses. I asked for grilled chicken breast on pasta which they were able to do specially for me. It was absolutely delicious! Our friends had told them that it was my birthday, and they brought out dessert for us at the end of the meal, which was extremely generous. My girlfriend and her best friend raved about the espresso martinis as well as the cosmopolitans. Wow! One of the best Italian meals I've ever had and definitely the best carbonara I've ever had. My group split a few entrees family style. We do wish there was a mussels meunière on the menu. Exceptional authentic Italian food with a truly family feel environment. We arrived even without a reservation but the owner graciously invited us in and gave us a window seat to help celebrate my son's birthday. That kind of hospitality is something worth mentioning because he showed how much family is valued. We started with the Chicken Parm Egg rolls, Caesar Salad, and Calamari. All were delicious. The Chicken Parmigiana over angel hair pasta with vodka sauce was amazing and I loved my Chianti wine. If could give zero stars after this response, I would. As a business owner, instead of attacking a customer for sharing an honest experience, your concern should be how a $100 cash discrepancy happened in the first place and having that conversation with your staff. People come to your restaurant to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, and special occasions and spend their hard earned money expecting an enjoyable experience. We paid our bill in full, left over a 20% tip, and were then called and accused of being $100 short. Now, rather than acknowledging how upsetting that was, you're publicly criticizing me for my review. Your response speaks volumes about how you handle customer concerns. First I will say that Tresca hits the mark for ambiance. The interior was a subdued elegance. Perfect for our group experience. The wait staff were very attentive and the service was professional. My wife and I had dinner last weekend at Tresca and it was outstanding. My wife would have gone back the next night and ordered the same dinner had we been in Boston the next night. Tresca is a beautiful two-floor restaurant with a bar. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and seated right away. The service throughout the entire experience was top-tier I never once had to ask for a refill because the staff was always attentive and on point. Our food arrived incredibly fast, within about 5-10 minutes of ordering, which is the quickest I've ever been served at a restaurant. I ordered the Rigatoni Affumicata. While it wasn't bad, it did seem a bit dry, possibly because it came out so quickly it felt like it may have been sitting for a short time before being served. Overall, it was a okay experience with excellent service, and I would say it's definitely worth trying out. My real rating is 3.5/5 but it only allows for full stars read more

On Katherine's recommendation, we enjoyed the stuffed meatballs, a great way to start off. My wife had the black truffle gnocci, while I had the lobster ravioli, and we shared some with each other. Both were well-prepared and filling. We did save room for a lemontini (her) and espresso (me) to go with our dessert of Italian donuts. The only slight knock on our experience is that the seating was quite tight, which took away from the intimacy of the experience of dining together. Walking around Hanover to see where to have dinner. Tresca is one of the first Italian restaurant you see and had well rated Yelp ratings. Upon entering, hostess showed me to a high top and got seated quickly. Tresca has the standard menu and a daily specials menu. From the daily specials menu, ordered the Seafood Fra Diavolo. It was huge and could be shared if you aren't too hungry. It came with half a tail, clams, mussels, squid, shrimps and couple of big scallops. Underneath, there is the angel hair pasta. The broth was superb. The dish itself was pretty big and could be shared it it was so good that I finished everything! They had other specials like lasagna that I would love to try. The place is kinda dark and have TVs over the bar and watched NFL Thursday game while waiting. Staff was friendly, always kept my glass full and drop by from time to time to check. My Aunt heard that Swayman (Bruins goalie) loved this place so I made reservations last month. We went tonight at 5pm. They send a text when your table is ready so I liked seeing that on the drive there. They have a coat check which is great in Winter so I appreciated that. We were taken to our table with no wait. The inside is low level light and very cozy without being stuffy. I would say it's nice and relaxed, but would be a great date spot too! From the start, the waitstaff were great and were very responsive without hovering. Honestly, it was great to have a meal that wasn't rushed and was well-paced. The bread that comes out is yummy but I needed more for sure. It's an extra $5 per basket which isn't terrible. I got chicken Parmesan and my aunt got the #1 so chicken Parmesan with vodka sauce. She also got a glass of wine & I had Diet Coke. She ate a good amount and loved hers. I will rave about mine. The chicken was so tender and the breading stuck very well and wasn't oily. The pasta was cooked perfectly and it was sauced well too. Afterwards, I got the lava cake after and ate most of it - it was lovely and disappeared pretty fast. I feel also that Tresca is really well-priced for how good everything was - Our bill was $113 for extra bread, 2 entrees, lava cake, a glass of wine, Diet Coke, and a bottle of still water. When in Boston, eat in the North End...Tresca fit the bill perfectly. We had delicious calamari and a Brussels sprout dish to start. My scallop entree over risotto was out of this world! Very fresh tasting and a modern take on Italian. Others in the party had more traditional dishes but the flavors were bright and the reports were all stellar. Portions are big so we all took half home. The owner who is also the chef came out to chat which was a homey touch. The waiter was great. We were lucky to get a reservation as we had tried and it was booked and we did the "notify" and were notified of an opening. Oof I am on the fence. On the one hand the food was delicious, on the other- service was so overbearing! They couldn't get us out of there fast enough!! Everything started out fine -- plenty of time to order drinks and apps-- but as soon as our entrees came out it was like there was a countdown clock somewhere. This place is located right in the heart of the north end. The ambiance was perfect and we sat next to a window which was really nice. For starters we got the burrata and margarita pizza with a glass of pinot grigio. The burrata melted in your mouth and the tomatoes were perfect in that they were not too tangy. The pizza was okay but I wish it had a little bit of a thinner crust. The pasta dishes we got were the Gamberoni ala Bourque and Rigatoni Affumicata. The Rigatoni Affumicata was delicious and brought out a great flavor with the roasted red peppers. The Gamberoni ala Bourque was by far my favorite. It was rich and creamy with a hint of tanginess from the lemon paired nicely with the shrimp. The service was great as they kept checking in with us. It was also very fast. To start, my waitress was great. What wasn't, the pumpkin risotto. I was so excited to finally try this after my friend talked about it length after we went to Tresca 3 years ago. The pumpkin risotto in 2024 was so sweet I felt sick eating it. Someone added way too much maple and honestly should go back to culinary school. Without a doubt the worst dinner dish I've been served in years. Paying $35 for a sickening sweet dish just hurts. For awareness, I did try it 3 years ago and it didn't taste this sweet and I did ask her if it was pure maple when she had it and she agreed it wasn't. The only reason Tresca is getting 3 stars is because I'm averaging my first visit in 2021 (5 stars) with my second visit in 2024 (1 star). read more
