Closer to 1 star than 2. I come here quite a bit for business lunches since my office is nearby, it's nice they're open for lunch and always have ample seating. Friendly host and wait staff overall but not super attentive at times. The plates on the tables by the sidewalk tend to have dust / dirt on them, wish they'd stop seating people there by default without asking (or alternatively they could keep the place settings cleaner). Also wish they'd just give new flatware when clearing plates instead of putting in-use cutlery directly on those sidewalk-adjacent tabletops. Food is alright albeit overpriced for what you get (ex. 3 zucchini flowers for ~$20), 1 appetizer 2 entrees 1 drink and water is routinely $130+. Pasta is often served way overcooked (whether from overcooking or the dish being allowed to sit too long before coming out I can't tell). read more

Went here on a whim to find a place I haven't tried and I'm so happy I did. This place was delicious! We did have to wait in line for about 15 minutes, the seating in the restaurant is very small. They were very busy but were given water promptly. We did get a complementary slices of bread with a green pesto sausage which was tasty, however it came to us fairly late approximately 5 minutes before our food. On a super hot Boston day we happened upon a man walking out of this restaurant with a GIANT pizza down the street. Upon seeing that we headed in! It was the kind of pizza with an amazing crust, fresh toppings and it said chewy, cheesey, and saucey goodness. The air conditioning was wonderful since it was 99 outside and our water glasses were never empty. We ordered a meat and cheese platter for an appetizer that was perfect. Then enjoyed the spaghetti and meatball, a special pizza (with a fresh truffle sliced at the table) and the shrimp limoncello. The food was great wonderful flavors and really well done. Place was packed when I went. I had a reservation and still had to wait like 15 min to get in and had to sit in the bar. The bar girl was really nice. Food came out insanely fast, so that's a plus. It felt fresh and tasty, but for the guanciale I would have preferred it to be more thin/chopped (maybe I'm the one wrong). Visited Quattro during Dine Out Boston Restaurant week and we were disappointed. It's a small restaurant on one of the corners of Hanover. I love a dim lit restaurant; however, a candle on our table or a small table light would be appreciated (we had to take one from another table). In addition, the music was really loud we found ourselves having to speak loudly to hear one another and we could clearly hear the conversations of the tables around us. As for the food, we didn't have many positive things to say. The highlight of the meal was the pesto dipping sauce that came with the bread and the fries that came with the steak. The bread tasted and felt stale, not off to a great start. Additionally, the meatballs came out room temperature, they didn't really have any flavor, and they tasted freezer burnt. My significant other really enjoyed the cacio e pepe sauce that came with the arancini but I wasn't a fan. The arancini itself was really good. As for our entrees neither of us were a fan of our dishes. I only ate a couple of bites of my pasta and my boyfriend said the steak wasn't great. We didn't have high hopes for dessert but my significant other enjoyed the tiramisu, but the cannolis just weren't good. Overall, the service was okay and the food not so great. Not sure if it's because we ordered off the dine out menu, but we probably won't return. You could get better italian food somewhere else in the North End. read more

While in the North End for dinner, we actually were planning on checking out another restaurant, but were turned away because they closed their kitchen an hour early. We found Quattro down the street and they happily seated us even though they were closing in an hour. I loved the dark ambiance of Quattro with it's open windows and spooky vibes. We ordered the Soppressata Pizza, Meatball Madness and Cacio e Pepe to share. They even gave us complimentary warm bread with pesto on the side. We really enjoyed everything, but I wasn't too impressed with the Cacio e Pepe - I was hoping for a more pepper flavor. The pizza was good, we really liked the crust and we also really liked the flavor of the meatballs. Quattro offers lots of seating inside and I believe they even had a bar area. We went on a very busy Monday, the place was absolutely packed around 1pm so we ate at the bar. Service was hit or miss. Pesto with bread was a nice touch. They do not serve coffee, only espresso. We both ordered pasta and thought they were just OK but nothing special and the lunchtime pricing was more like dinner pricing. This was one of my favorite lunch stops during my trip to Boston. The bar was welcoming and warm, thanks to the brick pizza oven. It was neat being able to watch the pizzas being prepped & cooked and the chickens spinning on the rotisserie behind the bar. This review is for food delivery to a hotel that was walking distance from this restaurant. I never leave negative reviews but, to be blunt, the food here was awful. Even accounting for the fact that food that is delivered is never as good as food that is ordered at a restaurant, the food was bland (is using at least salt and pepper a crimeand nothing as described on the menu. The chicken Marsala did not come with pasta or mashed potatoes. It instead came with 2 strips of what tasted like a thick french fry. It also had barely any mushrooms, as you can see in the photo. The caprese salad was comprised of flavorless tomatoes and at least a decent mozzarella. But it did not have basil, olive oil or balsamic. It's Boston, so there are plenty of Italian restaurants that will deliver to nearby hotels. Make sure you do not order from this one. read more

Love the flavor Lobster Ravioli - it doesn't look appetizing and the ravioli looks flat. But it has rich lobster flavor. The ravioli is stuffed with lobster meat. I didn't want to try this place because the hostess was standing outside luring people in with a menu--I find that offputting and desperate, though the place had a crowd and my husband really wanted to get a salad and a pizza, so we went. The water boy (person who poured our water) had dirty and long fingernails which instantly made me lose my appetite. Next, the "special" salad we ordered was good but the spinach in it seemed low quality with a lot of insect holes in the leaves and the mozzarella was a little too wet. Finally, the pizza was a huge disappointment. We ordered a margherita. The tomato sauce was too watery and made most of the crust, except for the edge, soggy. In addition, the sauce was acidic and lacked any flavor. The part of the crust that wasn't soggy wasn't bad. Overall, low quality, flavorless and an unkempt server defined our experience. This review is not based on food. My family and I ate there today, and after leaving my husband realized he forgot his sling bag (which contained about $2000 in camera equipment) hanging over his chair. The time between when we left the restaurant and the time he noticed was less than 10 minutes. I immediately called the restaurant to let them know as we were making our way back. The hostess asked where we sat and said she didn't see anything and it was not at the restaurant. She then said she would ask the other employees and put me on hold. She came back after about a minute and again said the bag was not there. Luckily my husband had an AirTag in the bag which confirmed the bag was still in the restaurant. He walked in and spoke to the same hostess I spoke to on the phone and she confirmed I called and they did not have the bag. He then used the "find my" function which said the bag (or at least the AirTag) was in the area where they were making pizzas. Once he showed them that the bag was only a few feet away, suddenly they remembered that the bag was under the counter. This was less than 20 minutes after we left the restaurant. The hostess then told him that she had asked everyone about the bag and they didn't say they had it. When my husband said it seemed odd that they would say that when they did, in fact, have the bag, she replied "Maybe they were keeping it safe." read more
