Guys. Idk what to tell you. Best pizza in the world and I'd die on that hill. Plus the freaking lamb skewers and fresh bread, seriously no words. It's just this freaking house with the world's best food hiding inside it. We ate at the counter and got to interact with the nicest staff who were absolutely slammed and still took the time to chat. This is the everything you could want from a pizza joint and was unmatched. Best vibe ever!

Onion and mushroom pizza cooked to perfection.

We had drs appointments in Boston and decided to have a late lunch. We love it here but it's a hike from where we live so we don't get here very often. It was wonderful. Got one large sausage with hot cherry peppers and wonderful Italian coarse textured bread and an onion mushroom pizza of which we brought half home. Our only complaint is I asked for the pizza crispy and they did not do it. It still was yummy but would have been better! Always would go anytime we are even close!

We ordered grilled beef and grilled lamb. We liked both of them. It was seasoned nicely. Portion was okay. It also came with bread. I wished there was butter for the bread. Service was good. If there's a next time, we will try the pizza.

The BEST pizza I've ever had. I The staff is welcoming from the movement you walk in the door- greeting you, chatting with you, quick service, make you feel like family. The environment is unmatched- old feel Boston.

My boyfriend has been coming to Santarpio's since he was a kid, so it's a special place and I was excited to get to share that nostalgia with him. We ordered his favorites. First, a single sausage skewer served with hot cherry peppers and fresh baked Italian bread. Then we split a cheese pizza. The sausages were juicy and huge, plus the bread was delicious. I enjoyed the peppers but they were spicy so I didn't eat all of them. Now the pizza, its great! The cheese, sauce, crust--all super fresh. If a place makes cheese pizza well, it's a good indicator of how well the rest will be. Let's just say they passed the test. It's not a huge pie but if you order the sausage or another appetizer, you'll be fine. We did have to wait for a table but we didn't wait too long. This place gets packed so be prepared to wait! Santarpios is also full of charm. It has an old school vibe and feels cozy. I was glad to share this experience with my boyfriend in one of his childhood spots!

Ok I'm not going to add anything here that hasn't been said so I'll share a funny share from my most recent trip this weekend to the Tarpp ..( as far as a review positively everything was marvelous, scrumptious and our service was perfect !!! ) We ordered our roni with skewers and while we are downing our drinks a young woman was sat nearby us - she arrived aline with a suitcase fresh off a plane at Logan and like anyone traveling - probably starving. I remember thinking - she's in for a treat if she doesn't already know about this legendary locale. When our serve returns to her she asked soooo politely "is there another menu?" And in the nicest way I the server was like " oh honey it's all pizza and some kabobs ! " She fiddled for a moment before ordering a single chicken skewer and a glass of water . I hope she's doing ok !

Beer. Best beer glass around.

One of the all time greats. Stopped in to pick up two pizzas on my way home from the airport. Bat was full so I grabbed a booth. Order two pizzas to go, sausage and a beer, ended up being to beers, to have while I waited. Pizzas were ready after I finished my second drink. Love the place.

Build your own pizza, double pepperoni with extra sauce.

Great little neighborhood place. Everyone was nice and welcoming. Service was great. We ordered a skewer with beef tips and a create your own pizza. The beef tips were cooked right, medium, and seasoned well. They were better than I'd thought they'd be at a pizza place. The pizza we ordered was a double pepperoni with extra sauce. It came out great. Crust was perfect, and the pepperoni was crispy around the edges, which is how we like it. The sauce is on the sweet side, which balances well against the salty pepperoni. Next time we get up that way, we'll eat there again.

This place has been in business since 1903. Nothing stays open that long without being top-notched. The pizza was fantastic. One of the best I've had in Boston. Loved the steak tips too. The lamb was good but not my favorite. The place can get crowd quick so time your arrival a little early to beat the crowds. Service was fast and friendly.

Italian cheese pizza topped with pepperoni, garlic, hot peppers, add sausage pie.

The vibe in East Boston is fantastic, and the service is excellent! I highly recommend trying the single lamb skewers with sausage--they were amazing! As for the Italian cheese pizza topped with pepperoni, garlic, hot peppers, add sausage, I'd rate it a 7/10. It's good, but the crust is a bit floppy, which causes the toppings to slide right off.

Santarpio's Pizza Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Santarpio's Pizza

Do they accept credit cards?

They didn't years ago but DO now.

Where do customers park? Tried going but everything was permit parking and zero paid parking

Right before Santarpios there is a little side street. Take that and immediately on your left there are plenty of parking under the overpass.

Do you serve salad now? Reviews suggest not but I see it's on the menu

Not at the East Boston Location only at the Peabody one

Do they deliver?

Yes. Via Doordash

Do they offer non-dairy, plant-based cheese for their pizza? Thank you!

No we do not.

I remember the pie being bigger then am I wrong? Mind you I haven't been there in a couple of years before this time a couple of days ago.

Jose The size of the pizza has not changed.

Do they no longer offer a large pie? Because the works without anchovies I got the other day was obviously medium I ask because there were no options offered on the online ordering platform.

Santarpio's only has one size pizza.

Has anyone been able to get a hold of Santarpio's this month? It says open but nobody ever picks up?

Hello Rob, Santarpio's Pizza opened on Monday May 4 for curbside pick-up and DoorDash delivery. We are open daily from 11:30-8.

It's been 5 years since having to go GF, so 5 years since Santarpio's pizza! Patiently waiting for Santarpio's to make gluten free pizza!!! Please let me know when?

I wouldnt hold my breath for GF pizza crust. Santarpios is more of a it is what it is, its been this way for years why change it model.

The menu mentions "Italian cheese" is on their pizzas. What, specifically, do they mean by "Italian cheese"?

Mozzarella I would assume. As well as Asiago and possibly fontina and marscapone

Without hesitation he said "New York Pizza. It's just a couple blocks away". And off we went, walking the streets of Boston to get pizza, having no idea what we were heading towards. When we arrived we were greeted with a storefront and order-at-the-counter pizza. Not what I was expecting, but I was OK with it. We looked at the menu and -- WOW -- the pizza options were nearly endless! I'm guessing about two dozen pizza varieties with more combinations of toppings that I thought were mathematically possible. And these pizzas were H U G E ! There are about a dozen tables and not enough chairs at New York Pizza, so if you find an empty chair - hey, fair game. We managed to get 4 chair for our high top four top. While we were placing our order I asked the guy behind the counter if this place was always this busy. He said "busy? This is slow!". I can't even imagine, because every table was occupied. Aside from the menu boards and the music (they were playing a varied playlist of 80s, 90s, and 2000s), it wasn't big on décor, but it suited it's purpose. I imagine the do a pretty significant takeout business. After about 2 minutes of consideration we landed on a Meat Lover's pizza. After a day of A LOT of walking, a pizza with pepperoni, ham, and sausage sounded 100% perfect. I looked like a lot of pizza. And I recall thinking "there's no way the four of us can eat a pizza that big!". (more on that later). There is no soda fountain so your beverage came out of a can or bottle from a refrigerator. Fast forward about 12 minutes and our pizza was called. It. Was. Freaking. Enormous. And it looked SOOO good. And it was hot. I mean HAWT! It was so hot we had to let it set for about 5 minutes before we could grab a slice. (non sequitur) I've never been a fan of folding pizza in half. I've given shade to people who fold pizza in half quite a few times. After much consideration, I now feel like I need to apologize to those people. This pizza was so big and the crust so thin that you had to fold it in half...and I'm going to sheepishly admit that I embraced the folding of the pizza slice. For one thing, to keep from scalding the inside of my mouth, and to keep from wearing pizza sauce on either side of you face like Joker. The pizza amazingly delicious and we ate with abandon. Seriously. Remember how I said the four of us could never eat a pizza that large? I lied.

Salty Pig Pizza: A pizza with the same name as the restaurant! Who was the genius who came up with the idea of salted pig and beer caramel? It's brilliant! The salted pork appears to include Prosciutto di Parma from Langirano, Prosciutto Cotto, and Salcissia. Baking rendered the prosciutto's fat, which blends with the caramel to create a beautiful golden syrup that flows across the pizza's surface. The prosciutto was savory, oily, and tender; the minced salcissia retains its coarse texture and rich meaty aroma; the caramel was sweet and mellow with a honey-like sweetness, forming the top, middle, and base notes respectively. The arugula was slightly warmed, losing its astringent and raw taste while maintaining its crisp texture, helped to cut through the richness together with the Parmesan cheese powder. The crust was crispy, while the inside the dough was soft and chewy. The cooking time and seasoning were all just right, and the restaurant's proud wooden oven added a charming smoky flavor. Affogato: I had high expectations, but it was just okay. The espresso was too sour, and the vanilla ice cream couldn't balance it out. The almond biscuits had an overpowering almond flavor, and the flavor of plant-based protein was terrible! (Oh, this should have been a plus...)
