First impression of Florenza was awesome. Cute and modern little Italian cafe serving Roman style pizza by the slice along with baked goods, gelato and coffee. The place is fairly small yet comfortable. Ordered a slice of the buffalo chicken pizza, a s'mores cookie bar and a lemon soda. They even offer to put a drizzle of blue cheese on the buffalo pie. The pizza absolutely hit the spot. The crust was crisp and airy, the chicken tasted great and the ingredients tasted fresh. The s'mores cookie was super decadent. Recently tried Florenza after wanting to check it out for a while. We ordered two pizzas--the BBQ Ranch Chicken and the Chicken Caesar--as well as the Massi Mortadella panini. You order at the counter, and then seat yourself. Note that although casual this isn't a fast food restaurant - the food took a good 20+ mins to come out. The panini was absolutely bomb 10/10, would definitely order it again. The pizzas were good overall, with a light, crispy crust, though they were a bit on the dry side in terms of sauce. I cant believe it took me this long to check this place out! Its kind of cafeteria style you order at the counter when you go in they give you a number to put on your table and then they bring it to you. The pizza was delicious! We had the eastie which had sausage and hot peppers on it the crust was just the right amount of breading to put the burn of the peppers out. The desert was outstanding and really inexpensive. Pistachio ricotta pie ive literally never seen it before and had to try it im glad I did. Another thing I had to try because I had never seen it before was the pizza wine....that you can skip just go for one of there delicious mixed drinks we finished the night w the espresso martinis and they were delicious. The only downside is parking is hard to come by so if you can uber walk or take the blue line I would strongly suggest it (and that makes it so you can try more of the drinks too) read more

My friends had gotten them place as a recommendation. We arrived for an early dinner and found there to be mostly empty. But by the end of the meal, just about every table was full. Orders are placed at the register and they bring them to your table. We shared appetizers including the Mushroom arancini, and Caprese salad. Arancini was very smell but crispy and cheesy. We enjoyed the freshness and size of the caprese salad. For entrees we shared their Roma caprese panini, Primo panini, Florenza smash burger and Prosciutto & fig pizza in a full size which was more than enough food for a feast. My favorite was the pizza while the sandwiches were also tasty but a tad on the dry side. For dessert we got their Lemon berry mascarpone cake, Pistachio ricotta cake and Honey gelato. Everyone enjoyed their cakes but we found the gelato to resemble a prominent vanilla taste rather than honey. Overall, we have great experience. The staff were friendly and personable. This is a very cute cafe located right in the east end! I got the Caprese and pepperoni pizza. The pizza itself was very light and fluffy. The tomato was very fresh complimenting the cheese nicely. The pepperoni pizza was delicious. The hot honey was my favorite part. The service was pretty fast. I did a little research and came up with this place and I'm so glad I did. It would've cost too much to Uber there eat an Uber back so I opted to do Uber eats for the first time . I called this place and had a few questions in the gentleman answered. The phone was so very polite and extremely helpful. . I wish I would've visited the restaurant maybe next time . Tried them for the first time and ordered delivery. Surprisingly, the pizza I had here was some of the best I've had in Boston! The crust has a perfect crisp and chew factor and they are incredibly generous with the toppings. A personal size pizza is a decent portion and definitely filled me up. Only complaint is that the container they put the gelato in is terrible when you order delivery. It was dripping everywhere and I wish they would have just put the container in a cup or something to make it less messy. read more

UPDATE: Important fact about Florenza - the owner is adamant about clean and high quality ingredients. I was in the corner out of site reading a book one day during the slow break and heard him going in on a conversation about the quality of the ingredients and meats he must have to serve to his customers. It made me think...most any dough in the US causes my knees to hurt. I can happily eat my way through Europe with zero issues. I realized I eat at Florenza so much because it's good and I'm not in pain afterwards. I asked the owner about the flour and meats. They bake their dough with flour from Italy and the meats have NO NITRATES! Great food, amazing service, clean ingredients, modern vibe and chill ambiance...love this place. East Boston's best kept secret is a secret no more!!! First of all, the standard round pie is every bit as good Santarpio's and quite a bit bigger. Next, the Proper Pepperoni is a square pie topped with hot honey and it's one of the best pizzas I've ever had. They also have several outstanding sandwiches made on focaccia bread. They are absolutely fantastic. I recommend the Italian and the Chicken Parm. For the more health conscious among us, try the chicken Milanese salad. It's outstanding! I've been twice and was really hoping for the right balance that was so missed on my first visit, but it just didn't happen. The dough is nearly perfectly fermented with a nice open crumb you would expect from a high hydration dough. The slices have a really nice crisp as well. The crust flavor was just ok. The dough, sauce, cheese imbalance is prominent, however. A light airy Roman pizza should not be heavily weighted with excess cheese. It undermines the whole "lightness" experience you would expect from a properly executed Roman slice. So unfortunately, a potentially above average pizza simply becomes average due to the imbalance. The slice options have been significantly reduced from my first visit, and the slices were old, with plastic looking cheese congealed over the pies, which betrays a massive supply-demand imbalance as well. You need high foot traffic to move slices. If they opened 2 blocks down into Maverick they would likely have a long term proposition. Will take some business acumen and creativity to renew the lease in 5 years. read more

An online order and quick delivery brought a wonderful pepperoni pizza to my hotel.
