They are consistent with the food, placing an order and timeliness. If I was going for a late night place, I would order here. It's really takeout. But there are stools and a counter. I'm mostly ordering hot family who live further away now. The fish sandwich is very good, the roast beef sandwiches. That's about all I've order. It was either Kelley's or Mikes for a 3 way roast beef. Tried the super 3 way . The onion roll had a nice chew. I thought it needed more beef. It was good beef , a little tough chew, but cooked right pink red. Sauce a bit heavy , not issue with the mayo and cheese. It was a good beef... I meant to add a tad horse radish sauce. Kelley's in Dedham last visit was just ok, but last Medford Kelley's was solid and I think more beef than Mike's... but I think Mike's super price is cheaper? Menu says 8.99; 9.72 with taxes. I came back to Mike's again a few months ago. I live 5000mi away, so Mike's is a treat whenever I can come back to Boston. This is a place my dad used to always take us when we came back from Logan and wanted to skip the tolls. Prices are obviously higher, but it's as good as ever. Really can't complain. A while back, I fell down the rabbit hole of an r/Boston thread that debated where to get roast beef and Mike's ranked as one of the top places particularly for its authenticity and value (apparently, Redditors are staunch in their belief that North Shore places should be avoided, or anywhere else that requires a fork and knife to eat the sandwich). Anyway, we pulled up on our way to Costco and ... my expectations were not high. It seemed like a typical fried food joint right across the street from the Encore.* Well, this is a lesson to never judge a book by its cover because the sandwich was phenomenal. There's a reason why that sign looks super vintage, it's been around for decades. We got the super beef three way (BBQ, mayo, and cheese), and after the first bite, I wished we had each gotten our own sandwich. The onion roll was super chewy and pillowy, the beef tender, the sauces combining in perfect harmony. UGH. I'm not a beef person at all but I could've eaten the whole thing myself. If I'm in the area next time, I might take it to go - there's not much seating and you're just looking out at a parking lot and the street. PARKING: Just a warning that if you pull in from Broadway and park on the front-facing side, you may have to back out onto Broadway, which gets pretty busy. There are spots further along the other side. *I looked up later to find that Mike's was sold last year for $5.5 million to the same development group that owns the Encore. NEVER COMING BACK HERE. I live down the street and have gotten Mikes for years! This is so bad that a person who has NEVER made a yelp review is making one. I ordered a super roast beef, a small roast beef, and a order of fries. I return home to open my roast beef and the meat is raw legitimately raw. And I've had roast beef my whole life. I know how roast beef is supposed to be, and I know that it is rare, but this was raw and most of the meat wasn't cooked. I called up Mike's roast beef and told the guy what happened he said that he would give me another sandwich and to BRING THE OLD ONE when I returned. So I returned and brought the old roast beef with me that was raw and told him I would like to replace it, and I told him to open up the bag. He immediately threw it away and said he doesn't want to. I I asked him twice more to open up the bag and just look at it because he was trying to tell me that the beef is supposed to be rare which I do know, but this was raw not rare. He refused to open it still and asked me what I wanted. I told him a super roast beef three-way again and he continued to tell me over and over again that I should order something else because what I got was how it's going to be. I just told him please can. I have a three-way roast beef. He then gives me a roast beef bag and I open it before I leave and it is a WELL DONE roast beef. these guys did this on purpose. I flew in from Los Angeles today, but grew up north of Boston. I needed a bite to eat before hitting the road for Maine and decided to check out Mike's. I love how straightforward this place is. Not fancy, but very well-maintained and clean. And my roast beef sandwich (onion roll w easy mayo) is as good as how I remember them as a voracious teenager. Plenty of tender pink shaved meat and an incredibly soft roll. And they make their onion rings exactly how I like them (golden, crispy, flakey, cornmeal coating) and the portion is huge. I was starving after arriving in Boston. I drove straight from work to the airport with just enough time to Board the flight. Somehow my gps was set to no tolls. I found myself taking a left in Everett and there was the big sign all lit up. There were cars in the parking lot so I quickly pulled in. I looked at the reviews and menu on Yelp before going in. I ordered a small clam chowder and a lobster roll. I was so excited but neither were very good. The chowder was sour. The cream had gone bad. There were plenty of potatoes and clams. It was a good consistency, not glue. If the cream were not sour, it probsbly have been good. I couldn't eat it after the first couple spoonfuls. The lobster roll was boring but full of lobster. They didn't butter and toast the bun. This is a late night take out place so what could I expect? The lobster was plentiful and delicious but there was no celery, no lemon juice, just tons of cheap mayonaise. Next time, I'm going to follow the locals and get roast beef. While the prices for this place online are wildly outdated (e.g. the lobster roll is $25 not $18), for current times they are still relatively reasonable, and still do many things remarkably well. I ordered their "Super Pastrami" which from the name, had me expecting a great big sub but was instead more like a kaiser roll perhaps 5 inches in diameter---but it was a damned good 5" of bread, delish pastrami, cheese and mustard that didn't make me resent the $9 it cost. Best onion rings in town: massive serving, and unlike many places where you get 3 times as much dough as onion, these were very lightly crusted, I'd say at least 80% or even 90% onion to dough. Spicy wings were slightly dry and could've been spicier, but nothing to complain about either. Tall milkshake was delicious, rich chocolate not sickly sweet like what you get at many places. Service was good, two nice ladies (perhaps Polish from the slight accent) at the counter, some Latinos visible in the kitchen---food took about 10-15 minutes which is a good indicator it's fresh not some frozen Sysco crap. All in all, a solid no-frills place I look forward to coming back to! Taking off one star only because they don't have public restrooms, only seating is at high windowside counters, and if you park in the front (will park at the side next time) it's a PITA to back out onto the usually super busy street full of cars whizzing by. read more

Service at the place was good, but the fries were weird, a little too heavy, overcooked and not piping hot, so, in other words, disappointing. The chicken cutlet was nothing to write home about, but decent I guess. Next time I come to this place I'll stick to their wheelhouse, the fish dinner or roast beef sandwich. My Dad used to sell lots of bikes My facebook posts get lots of likes But if I want beef And I need some relief I will drive at high speed to get Mike's If it wasn't for Roast Beast then I would say that Mike's would be the best of the many roast beef sandwiches that I had while I was in Massachusetts. When I first came to Boston and the next 17 times I came to Boston I had no idea that this was even a thing - and I'm really sad that I missed out on it all those times. It's especially a North Shore thing which is where I believe the stuff originated and definitely where it's most prevalent. But you can find it anywhere in the area and even in places outside Massachusetts sometimes, not that it'll be as good as here. Almost nowhere does it as well as here. Try this one and try Roast Beast and you'll get a good idea of how good these things can be. They're like Arby's Roast Beef (in style) but 2248 times better. They're open very late at night and you'll be glad that they are because my goodness this Roast Beef is amazing, and the rolls are great and it makes Buffalo's beef on weck taste like something that probably isn't worth having. Give the famous barbecue sauce and the famous horseradish sauce a try as well, and add some actual horseradish for more of a kick - and that goes for every single place you get roast beef not just this one. But this is a five star sandwich shop if ever there was one and it's cheaper than most of the others and they load it up absolutely completely (despite the picture) so you're looking at one of the best sandwiches in all of Massachusetts. Mike's roast beef is basically an institution in late night snacking. The roast beef is awesome I get mine with sauce and cheese. They stay open till about 3 o'clock in the morning. The roast beef is always cooked perfectly the condiments are fresh as are the rolls. FYI there is no public restroom this they should definitely change. I give Mikes a solid 3 1/2 stars unfortunately on the Yelp scale I'll have to roll it back to 3 but I will move it up to 4 once they install a public bathroom. read more

The kitchen made a mistake and made one of them a sandwich rather than a sub(the sandwich has significantly less meat than the sub) The kitchen took the meat out of the sandwich and put it in the sub.
