Best burger I have ever had. Would eat 10 of these. Would eat again definitely. Fries are crispy, burger is perfect, sauce is flavorful.

I was going to the Old South Church for a show in the evening. I have also been wanting to try the new 7" street burger since they opened a couple months back so it worked out that they were walking distance from each other. It is located in a nice, brick building right on Newbury Street. The door on the left is the main entrance, leading straight to the registers. Their menu is short and simple, which makes ordering quick. My family and I each got a double cheeseburger and shared two orders of fries. We got regular fries not realizing they had loaded fries as an option. They have soda in glass bottles, but also regular aluminum cans, and water. They have house sauce but it is $1 more for each small container. There is ketchup for free. After placing our order, we tried securing a table and waited for them to call my name for the order. Although there are tables outside, they are not for 7th street, but rather the restaurant downstairs. The only option left was the counter and bar style chairs facing a large window, but it was nice because it looked out to Newbury street and I love people watching while eating. The burgers are a little greasy, but the patties are smashed well, cooked perfectly, cheese is very melted, and onions are finely chopped and soft. The fries were okay, but I really do wish I had ordered them with something on top, or the sauce came in a bigger container to be enough for the order. read more

I got the single burger with fries, and the burger was... okay. Not the best, not the worst, but a really normal smashburger that you could find in pretty much any city. The patty was crispy but not crispy enough, the buns were okay, and the seasoned fries are decent, but small and probably not worth the $4.50 I paid for it. Overall this place is just a really average place with standard food and decent service. It was pretty fast and they had a lot of seating available. I would come back if it were convenient and there weren't better options in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it and I think In 'N Out is better. read more

7th street burger is a solid place. The waits are a little longer, but you know when the lines are long and they will tell you, it's not a surprise. Got a single cheeseburger and a friend got a double cheeseburger. Taste is great. They got his order wrong but they were kind about fixing it. There's a few standing only counter tops and a few booths. Don't count on getting a booth, we got lucky finding a countertop. Would go again, just can't be on a time crunch. read more

7th street totally lived up to the hype in my opinion as a great casual spot for a late night bite! The classic smash burger was crisp, juicy, and i loveddd the signature 7th street sauce. I also appreciated that it was only 6.50 for a quality cheeseburger - not very often you find that in boston! Never heard of this chain before, but I guess it's nyc's version of In-N-Out. It's quite good! Tried their burger (I found it funny that they only add one individual pickle per burger), and their loaded fries (similar to animal fries but they add a lot of burger meat--probably more calories than the burger itself). Wait time is crazy. It's like 20-30 minutes per order. If you have the time, I'd say do it! Seating is limited at certain times of the day. Came once in the afternoon and we shared a table with strangers. Came another time before closing, and there were a few tables open. When busy, the line extends outside on the sidewalk. Not sure how long the hype will last, but overall, if I have time to waste and I'm feeling patient, would come through again read more

New burger joint on the block and it was no miss despite the reviews for this location! I will say if I were to only judge the fries I would pass on dining in. They gave us a ball park style fry and you can surely tell it was fried in canola oil. As for the burger it satisfied the smash craving. We have had tons of smash burgers and this one does not place but it will do the trick! If you're in the area snag yourself a double! Service was great and the cashier was very kind! It must of been mutual feeling since we noticed on the recipe that our sauce was comped for "acts of kindness". That was a GREAT DETAIL and more of reason to post a positive review! Welcome to Boston 7th Street Burger! It's open for late night burgers right in the heart of Back Bay, on Newbury Street. We went right before closing and the place was PACKED. We ordered and after I paid was told 30 minute wait, yikes. It ended up being longer. From the looks of it they make burgers in batches but for some reason were behind. I figured it's new so I'll give it some grace. We ended up waiting almost an hour for two double cheeseburgers and fries. Their menu is simple, a single or double smashburger, fries, and drinks. I think you can customize your items like get loaded fries but they don't advertise it on the menu from what I saw. You can also substitute for vegan or vegetarian patties. The food itself was good. The burger was tasty, super greasy but good. I liked the grilled onions on it and the sauce. The crispy fries too were good, were a little cold but I think from the waiting. It's simple and straightforward, which makes it old-fashioned feeling. No over the top menu, and reasonable prices. I'm giving it some grace as I think there are some operational kinks to work out, but I'd be curious to come back after a little while and see how it's doing then. I do think this is a good addition to Newbury St, and the Southie location will open in just a few short days, April 6, 2026! Also beware google says it closes at midnight but they were turning people away at 11pm. read more

The double is grease overload. The wrapper around the burger was completely soaked with grease. I felt gross just picking it up. Get the single; it's less greasy. Smashburgers were very average. Not crispy enough and missing some depth of flavor. For $4.50, they are very stingy on the fries. Barely got anything in our container. They are seasoned and very tasty, though. House sauce was decent as well. If it weren't for the fries, I would rate this place a 2/5. We came for Saturday lunch and it appears there's no wait anymore. Plenty of seating. I'm rating the food...which I thought the burger and fries were very good. Their system of ordering and pickup is absolutely horrible. They need to have an ordering area and a separate pickup spot. We had to fight for a table. Recommendations: go at an off time, try to find a seat while you wait. They also need to move the boxes of food/beverages in the front area so people can stand to wait for their orders. Delicious burger though! read more

If you don't want to wait forever, don't come during peak time and give this place a bad review just because of that. I came Wed evening. Wait wasn't as bad then. I went with the spicy cheeseburger. It was DELICIOUS! Regular fries were great too. It's not as good as In-n-out (my benchmark for the best fast food burger) but best fast food burger I've had in Boston. I was vacationing in Boston and out for a walk through the city when we stumbled upon a long line for 7th street. We asked people waiting in line about it and they told us it was a new spot, only opened for about a week, and everyone wanted to try it because it's supposed to be a east coast In N Out vibe burger? So we got in line. The line moved pretty quickly. The inside is quite small with not a lot of tables, but everyone did a really good job of eating quickly and moving on. It probably took about 15 minutes to place our order from the line and then another 25 minutes after we ordered to get our food. They did however let us know that they were new and it would be a 30 minute wait for the food, which we didn't mind at all, and appreciated them giving us the heads up. The food was good. Burger doesn't compare to In N Out in my opinion, because I'm from California, and In N Out is elite in my opinion. But it was good. Different but good. The fries though, 10 out of 10! The right kind of crispy and seasoned to perfection. They also offer coke in a bottle, and I mean who doesn't appreciate that? Haha. Overall, it's definitely worth a try! read more

It's like an improved in n out clone and that's a great thing. The double cheeseburger is the perfect size. The burger comes standard with their sauces (animal style) Other than that the menu is really just fries. I would make the fries "loaded" which basically makes them animal style and they throw a burger on top of the fries. Getting them spicy with the jalapeños was good too. The only issue is, the atmosphere is not the best since there's so many patrons coming in and out, it was overly crowded, and not enough seats. This location has people waiting 30+ MINUTES for a burger and fries. They literally have 5 hot items on their menu... talk about operations and efficiency disaster. Waited so long eventually asked for a refund and they couldn't even produce a refund receipt for me as proof. This place is literally psychotic. You wait 10 minutes outside then 10 minutes inside, then wait 45+ min for the food on a Saturday. Food is pretty good but not good enough for waiting that long. For starters the wait the get to the front of the line took about 10 minutes. For only 3 items on the menu the wait cannot be this long. Then the wait for the actual food is 30+ minutes and again for the amount of items on their menu it shouldn't be this long to make a cheeseburger. When I actually got the food the burger were overly greasy for their small size and the fries were just bad. I had a pretty frustrating experience at 7th Street Burger. I got in line around 6:10 PM, ordered at 6:21, and didn't get my food until 7:40,so apparently burgers and fries now require a full feature-length wait time. At that pace, it might honestly be more time efficient to fly to California and grab In-N-Out Burger. During that stretch, I checked in a few times and was told "a couple more minutes," which, to be fair, seems to mean something different here. The staff was friendly throughout, which I appreciated, but no one seemed to have a clear sense of timing or what was going on with orders. I understand this location is new and there can be some growing pains, but this feels like the kind of issue that should be worked out pretty early on. After being patient the whole time, I was offered one free burger, even though my total came out to around $50.
