Lived in Everett most of my life and never really went to Dempseys, had surgery recently and havent been able to cook and be mobile most days so we tried breakfast once, and have literally gone back about 10 times in the last 3 weeks, LOL Options are crazy, portions are good, the potatoes are literally my weakness ..... as I was writing this I totally forgot I actually had a plate of leftovers and went to go heat up, LOL Veggie Omelet is FULL of Veggies and lots of broccoli, so in the off chance you do not love Broccoli over powering an omelet mention to them to go light, but yeah, Cheesy, Veggie-y (yes thats a word) and tons of potatoes left... Happy girl right now, But the boys constantly get Choc Chip waffles and pancakes and are happy kids. Never tried lunch items but might soon... Dempsey is like a staple in Everett been there for decades. Nothings changed. Good eggs, good sausage, good bacon, good hashbrowns basically all the breakfast items places is fairly clean only negative tough parking on Broadway. read more

Great breakfast joint, good prices, good service. The food was great. They service your typical breakfast items. Small inside that could use a renovation, but gives small diner energy. There isn't refill on coffee, sad! But we enjoyed our meals nonetheless. The bathroom is much to be desired... so be warned. Good option for breakfast if you're in the area! read more

What a fun place! Fast service from the wait staff. Coffee was on the table in minutes. I ordered three pancakes which was about two too many. They are huge and delicious. Better with whipped cream and sugar. Also ordered the hash browns, perfectly crunchy and tasty -- not mushy. My friend ordered an omelet and toast. She devoured it. Portions are huge and the menu is extensive. Ambiance is what you expect from a breakfast place. Good people and good vibes. read more

Today 8/17/25 i ordered my usual go to breakfast sandwich from Dempseys , as i was unwrapping the sandwich i noticed what appeared to be a staple embedded in the bread. I immediately called the restaurant to make them aware of the situation but they placed blame on the Bread company ( Edelweiss ) but they should also be quality checking products before sending them out . not only that myself and my coworker also found hair in our potatoes . what makes the situation worse i'm pregnant and i thank goodness i didn't bite into that sandwich talk about EMOTIONAL DISTRESS !!! read more

It's nice greasy spoon diner. I liked splitting the salmon bagel with my mom. My aunts used to love this spot before they passed.

Hole in the wall so perfectly northern diner style. Being in the south, I've missed the New England corn beef hash with runny poached eggs. Although my eggs came out medium poached, it was quickly fixed and everything was delicious. The meat was so flavorful. The potatoes looked like they might be bland but they were heavily seasoned and crispy on the outside. Only catch is they do not serve free refills, but the coffee mugs are pretty big. They also let you know before simply pouring another cup which I find pretty considerate these days. read more

The food was mediocre at best. I ordered through GrubHub and wrote a few modifications to my order in the note section (turkey bacon, sausage for example) and they sent me pork anyhow without a call first to let me know they could not accommodate my order. They have Nantucket Nectar advertised and they sent me a Snapple. Huge difference for anyone who hates drinking fake juice. The orange juice was also some powder drink, perhaps Tang. The Dempsey's French toast was given to me as a sandwich presentation with an excess of the cream all over it. I spent about $60 for my order through Grub Hub only to get less than what I want. I'm very disappointed-the only reason they got two stars instead of none was bc the home fries were very well made and so were the eggs. read more

Regular breakfast spot. Good service. Quick turn around. The food is alright, their home fries are kind of Thick and big. Which is good if you like potatoes and who doesn't. I'm not a fan of their sausage and their coffee is served best light and sweet. read more

Being a regular - it'd be only fair for me to provide an updated review. I originally gave this place 5 stars, however, after my few past visits - the satisfaction rate has gone down. I have waited about an hour for the food to come out - something I've never encountered before...could've just been that one visit, coffee has been pretty "milky" with no actual coffee, and my pancakes during one visit we're a tad bit undercooked. Overall, this place is a local gem to go for a quick breakfast fix. They might have gotten some new cooks that are adjusting but this place does the trick. Don't expect fancy :) but they do get the job done every Sunday morning. read more

Spent the weekend in Boston with family and friends and decided to eat at Denpsey"s for breakfast before headi g home. We were warmly greeted at the door and were offered any open seat in the restraunt. We sat and quickly glasses of water arrived without us even asking. My sister in law ordered a large pulp free glass of OJ and then we dove into the menu. I ordered a veggie omlet with home fries, my wife ordered eggs Benedict with spinach and my sister in law jumped on eggs over easy, hone fries and a side pancake. All of our meals arrived piping hot, however the time it took to receive our breakfast was a bit longer than expected, especially since they really didn't seem all that busy. Anyway, the everyone loved their food. The Omlet was perfectly done with loads of green peppers, onions and my favorite mushrooms. My wife"s Benedict was flavorful with just the correct combo of sauce and spinach. My sister in law"s eggs were good, however it was the pancake that took the prize this morning. It was fluffy and large enough for all three of us to sample. We will definitely return. ENJOY! read more

Came here yesterday with my husband for breakfast, everyone was friendly, service was speedy and our host(didn't get his name) was very attentive and helpful. Right away, he offered us a baby chair for our son. Food was delicious, our iced coffees were spot on;PERFECT. The place was clean, our table specifically. The atmosphere was on point. Hey Dempsey's: Hire a manager. The utter lack of a manager in this restaurant is ludicrous. The food is totally average diner food, and the service is an outrageous farce. Today, after having been seated for 45 minutes, my pregnant wife and I left when the waitress gave us attitude for having the audacity to inquire about our order. "I'm sure it'll be out soon," she said sarcastically as she continued to bus every table in the restaurant and not check on our order. I noted that the customers to either side of us, whom both arrived long after us, were done eating before we'd even been served. She then lied to my face and said that they got there first. Waitresses here apparently aren't allowed to care at ALL about anyone who isn't in "their section." The waitress next to us kept telling us that our waitress would be with us soon, but she couldn't possibly have cared less about us. Trying to take care of us herself literally must not have crossed her mind. Drive the extra half-hour round trip to IHOP and you'll still be saving time. Also, Dempsey's, nice job on the BRAND NEW SIGN you installed that looks far worse and more outdated than the original. Putting a picture of breakfast next to the word "lunch" and vice versa was a nice touch. If you don't have 2 hours to waste on a mediocre breakfast, or if you're not one of the regular locals that they apparently recognize, Dempsey's is not interested in taking your money. This isn't a one-time thing; I've been here probably a dozen times, and the service REALLY IS THAT BAD at least half the time. read more

I went here because I wanted waffles but Dempsey's french toast was so tempting I went for it instead. Four slices of french toast with dollops and dollops of very sweet bavarian cream. The idea is great but it didn't really taste great. It was very sweet but it was lacking in flavor, in my opinion. I ate a quarter of it and took it home because I felt bad. A day in the fridge and I tossed it. My husband, on the other hand, got blueberry pancakes. Those were gooooood. They are huge too. He got three and we shared them cause my french toast wasn't yummy, we still didn't get to finish it. It was THAT big, bigger than my face, and my face is pretty big. Flavored coffee, meh. It was exciting but, again, it was blah. Tasted like it was watered down. It wan't that cheap either. I wish we had gone to iHOP instead. I don't even like iHOP. read more

I had to hit this place up because my mother's maiden name is Dempsey, so I had to see if it lived up to her name and it did. The food here is 100% standard diner food. I don't think you will have any revelations here, but you can also be sure you know what you're getting here will be decent. I got the western omelet with whole wheat toast.... Not much to report on except that I was fully satisfied when I was done eating. The free cup of coffee with an omelet is what pushed this from 3 to four stars. I had the coconut coffee which put a nice little sparkle in my day. The service was pleasant and the ambiance is straight up EVERETT. One final note, they take LevelUp which is essentially like getting 10% off your tab if you can manage to spend $30 over a couple meals. read more

Don't let the outdated exterior deter you, the food at Dempsey's is delicious! We often visit this hidden gem for brunch. The home fries are my favorite. The waffle with strawberries is my usual go to, but this time I tried the Dempsey toast which is 2 layers of French toast with Bavarian creme in between. I would recommend it! read more

The food was okay. I was hoping to order some eggs benedict, because it's my favorite breakfast meal. I had checked the menu out online, but that was for the Medford Dempsey's, and even though they share the same name and probably owner, they do not share the same menu. We were seated rather quickly and our orders were taken, but the food was incredibly slow to arrive. Other people who'd arrived after us were served before we were. We overheard the waitress talking to the chef and apparently he'd forgotten our order. Also, not sure if this matters to people, but the orange juice was served in on-the-go containers, the kind you'd grab at a Dunkin Donuts. Just a little odd. I had the Dempsey's special which consisted of 2 eggs (scrambled), 2 pieces of bacon, 2 sausages, 2 pieces of toast (white), 2 buttermilk pancakes, cup of coffee, served with home fries.. I'm from out of town, but if I lived close I'd be here every weekend. This is a comfortable and friendly diner with free wi-fi and delicious food served in generous portions. The coffee is strong and hot, and the super omelet (I can't remember the name -- the one with everything) is amazing! I added chorizo for a little kick and that made it even better. My kids had the Oreo pancakes -- a weekend staple, apparently. These things are crazy -- a pancake, a layer of crumbled Oreo, a sifting of powdered sugar, and then a huge helping of whipped cream on top. More like a dessert than breakfast. Required an immediate visit to the park after breakfast. The place was pretty full but there was no waiting, and the service was good even with the crowd.
