    Classic Italian Cold Cut
    Evelyn W.

Got the South Philly Steak and Classic Italian last night, both on the homemade seeded rolls and they were fantastic. The team is generous with all the high quality ingredients, the price is so justified. Also, kept half the South Philly Steak for leftovers and it reheated beautifully the next day in the airfryer. But beyond that, it's a small unassuming place and the owner is a great guy. He has created a small business that makes you feel really good about supporting. He's doing great things for the community AND the subs are incredible.

    South Philly Steak

We ordered the South Philly Steak sub. Homemade seeded bun, Italian long hots, cheddar and provolone, garlic aioli, onions plus an order of fries. Pickup wait was about 25 minutes, which tracks since they're apparently TikTok famous now (the waitress confirmed this with a laugh). Worth planning ahead for. Got it home, opened it up. Looked great, but looks have fooled me before. Then I took a bite. Ribeye. Perfectly cooked, perfect cheese ratio, and the long hots gave it exactly the right kick. The bun alone could carry a lesser sandwich. Portion was genuinely generous too. My wife and I usually talk through a whole meal, we ate this thing in complete silence for 15 minutes. That's the review right there. Fries were the real deal as well. Long, crunchy outside, done right. They've been at this for 18 years and whoever put them in the spotlight did everyone a favor. Well deserved. Heads up: it's a small spot, so I'd recommend ordering ahead for pickup, and parking is mostly street, so give yourself a few extra minutes. Compliments to the chef. We'll be back.

Delivery on a busy Friday night and the food was still absolute fire. Some of both the best pizza and cheese steak in all of Mass both in the same place.

1/8" thick steak with lots of gristle

I really want to like this place, I honestly do. Their pizza is good, and the chicken parm is solid. Unfortunately, the steak and cheese is a hard pass. I ordered the South Philly steak. They were out of long hots, which isn't a huge deal, but seems would be a major part of the flavor profile. It comes with a garlic aioli, which I'd strongly recommend skipping. It's extremely heavy on the aioli with very little garlic flavor, and the added provolone actually takes away from the overall taste rather than enhancing it. The real issue, though--the nail in the coffin--was the steak itself, which is obviously the most important part. It's advertised as being shaved fresh on site, but the trimming and consistency need serious work. I ended up throwing away more than half the sandwich. Even picking through the meat, a large portion consisted of thick, roughly 1/8-inch thick slices full of gristle (see picture) that were impossible to chew. That's not what I expect from a $19 cheesesteak. I'd expect that quality from a Market Basket sandwich, not from a place like this, and that was genuinely disappointing. As a side note, the house-baked sesame roll is a nice touch, but it really should be toasted. As served, it was overly soft and heavier than a typical sub roll. Two stars solely based on the cheesesteak. It's not a one-star review only because the pizza and chicken cutlets are still good here.

First time visiting the Square Deli. It will not be my last. We ordered a pepperoni pizza with hots and all I can say is it was the best pie north of New Haven I have ever had. Absolute perfection. The photo says it all ... the ingredients were world class, preparation was masterful, and the char was epic! After we chatted about the steak sub with some patrons I had the opportunity to try a steak and cheese ... again, just amazing! Sliced ribeye, cooper sharp, and a seeded bun ... an homage to the best in Philly. Do not miss this experience! Thank you Chris ... see you soon!

This place is amazing I love the steak & cheese And the chicken parm with the hint of fresh basil I highly recommend square deli you won't b

Met 4 colleagues at The Red Fox for dinner, a recommendation from a friend of my colleague. Tough to find initially and very unsuspecting upon arrival. As you enter the front door (think like walking into a foyer of a small apartment building) you go down a flight of stairs into the restaurant. Then wow, this place is awesome! Small entry way into the restaurant with a hostess immediately greeting you. The bar is your first view of the place and it was packed. I'd describe it as dimly light, great atmosphere and ambience, almost a speakeasy feel. I'd recommend a reservation. The hostess walked us to our table, walking along the bar line with small 2-4 top tables to our left, we then turned left into the main dining room. 5 of us and we were seated at a horseshoe style table, plenty of room for up to 6 adults. Service was instant, she was friendly and very knowledgeable. We ordered cocktails and a couple apps. The drinks arrived along with bread service. They added small side plates with oils and olives, a nice touch. The cocktails were fantastic as was the homemade bread. A unique twist with my cocktail (kettle one & soda), was the single ice cube that was a long rectangle cube that was so clear you couldn't see it! The cubes length was the same as the tall glass it was served in and didn't melt. For dinner I listened to our server who recommended the Chicken Parmigiana with a chefs twist using a vodka infused sauce, this dish was amazing! My colleagues all shared the same feelings that this meal was spectacular. Highly recommend The Red Fox!

Great meal to end the upper US marathon vacation!!…read more We had no idea where we may end up eating but the trusty Yelp app led us to another victory dance!! Yay for Yelp!! We had just cruised the nearby mall center thingy and were hungry on our last night in Boston. We saw the sites and did the things. Boston is a one of a kind place for sure. This was the choice. It was a great choice! Beautifully decorated and oh so chill inside. We have a thing that we do at places with great appetizers. We just order a bunch of those and feast. That's what we did here! We started with some raw oysters. They were very nice indeed. Island Creek Oysters from Duxbury MA. is where they came from. We love the little local Junts a lot and had them all over the northeast while we were there. We also had Crab Rangoon Dip. Very good, lots of fresh lump crabmeat, with a house chili crisp, scallions, and wonton chips. Loved it! They we had some fantastic mussels to close the deal! The flavor was amazing! I wish I could have them every single day! We also had a bowl of BPH Clam Chowder. CC is one of my favorite things and this place did not disappoint in any way! Delicious!! The server was great. She took great care and made our last night in Boston an unforgettable experience. If you are near, you should go right now! Why aren't you there yet? '26 - 108

The breakfast sandwiches were excellent, especially the English muffin--it wasn't your typical dense, store-bought English muffin. It was fresh, soft on the inside, lightly crisp on the outside, and made the whole sandwich even better. The pancakes were equally delicious--light, fluffy, and perfectly cooked. My mom and I really enjoyed the wings (sweet chili was our go to flavor), the calamari was good, the chicken sandwich was just ok, it was covered in sauce and slaw, too much for me to actually taste the chicken. Breakfast was just ok, service was always slow, they weren't busy on the days I visited . The brick oven chicken was ok, not bad and not great, could have used a bit of seasoning, sugar snap peas were ok if not burned, and the potatoes tasted like instant potatoes that were mixed with too much water, resulting in a thin "mashed" potato. The egg benedict, I have had better and the potatoes that come with it tasted like absolutely nothing, how is that possible you ask....I am not sure, but they did taste like nothing (no seasoning whatsoever) The best part of my visits were on a days/nights when the weather is nice and the breeze is cool, they have the windows open and what a lovely view of the Greenway across the street. Despite this review sounding like I absolutely hated the place and it may not have been my absolute favorite restaurant of my visit, it will remain on the list for its convenience for future visits to Boston. I will just turn into a sweet chili chicken wing LOL!
