This pizza is heavenly. It is an institutional hole in the wall. A not-so-best-kept-secret. A local gem. The pizza dough is soft and bouncy, the toppings are fresh and not overly saucy. This is the place you come to at any time of the day and whatever mood you're in. Service is super fast and there's limited seating inside. read more

Pinocchios Pizza & Subs - Tomato and basil - Pizza Near Me - Cambridge, Massachusetts

I had Sicilian pizza for lunch at the research institute for the first time. To be honest, I didn't really like it; it's just that I didn't like the taste, not that the restaurant made it badly. Cheese Sicilian Pizza: Very generous amount of cheese. The crust was thick and soft, with a flaky edge. It was a bit too rich for me and lacked the chewy texture of a pizza. Tomato & Basil Sicilian Pizza: Less cheese, which was better, but the thick bread and tomato sauce still made it a bit too rich for my taste. read more

Delicious pizzas and I love that they let us buy slices. The veggie and artichoke ones were the best. The artichoke one was very flavorful and we loved the crunchy onions on the veggie one. Crunchy and thick crust. The spinach pizza was our least favorite. It was too oily and too cheesy. Service was quick. Ambience is good for quick dining. read more

Now a Cambridge local, it was great to find some good pizza. Gotta trust the Zuckerberg approved Pinocchio's. Ordered a Sicilian with half cheese and rest pesto with spinach+ chicken. I ate the latter and while sure it wasn't the greatest pizza or best bread ever, it was great for what it is. Would get again especially with its generous hours. read more

pinocchios pizza & subs is a small, unassuming restaurant on the corner of winthrop and jfk. customer service is excellent, they were very kind. they have a very cozy interior covered in photos like an old school restaurant should. they have a ton of photos with mark zuckerberg, the harvard sports teams, and others. apparently this was one of his favorite places to grab a slice. they have fresh sicilian slices of nearly every flavor imaginable. thick crust & great toppings. i do wish they had a bit more sauce personally, but they are very famous for good reason. fresh ingredients, warm & welcoming service, and consistent flavor. my favorite is their tomato basil. ambiance: 3.7/5 food: 4.2/5 service: 5/5 pinocchios pizza & subs: 4.3/5 read more

Still have a great slice that is somewhat "affordable" at $5 a slice for the square slice. A few tables are available and the staff are friendly. This was my first time trying Sicilian style pizza, and I don't know if it was because it was 1am, but it was really good. I got the sausage pizza, which had a soft, fluffy interior and a crispy bottom. The sauce was slightly sweet and pretty tomatoey. I would definitely come back again. read more

First time I heard of this place was on "Suits," so you know you gotta try it if it's that famous. Their Sicilian pies are soft, super fluffy interior, with a great crunch on their crust. It's tucked away in a little alleyway, with limited seating, although I expect lots of people to buy and go. CASH ONLY (card has minimum purchase, or fee) 1 slice sausage ($5) - Not smothered in red sauce, which really brings out the delicious bouncy bread. It kind of reminded me of Souplantation's focaccia bread - Crust is super crispy, not too oily, and quite enjoyable to eat (unlike other crusts) - Pretty filling for 1 slice of pizza, would get again read more

Ordered a steak , onion, cheese. I like the quality other flat steak, they toast the roll, grill the onions and abundant onions ,They melt the provolone . A bit pricey for sub at 16.35 with the add on of onions to the 14.50 steak and cheese. Need to drop prices a bit as inflation prices need to adjust back down . 4.75 for pizza slice ; but no one shy buying and thick crust style and many options . I consider this one of my best steak and cheese spots as steak isn't chopped up. read more

Pinocchio's Pizza is a true institution in Harvard Square, a no-frills counter-serve spot that's been serving its famous Sicilian-style squares and regular slices since 1966. It's the kind of place that's almost always busy, packed with a mix of students, professors, and locals who've been coming for decades. We found it crowded when we walked in, but the system is efficient. If you're just grabbing a slice, you can be in and out in a few minutes. If you order a whole pie, be prepared to wait a bit longer, which is why we, like many others, opted for the ready-to-go slices. We tried both styles. The regular cheese slice was good, nice, straightforward New York-style pizza with a balanced flavor. The Sicilian square, which is what they're most famous for, was alright but didn't quite hit the mark for us this time. It had a good flavor, but we found it to be light on the sauce and heavier on the dough than we expected, making it a bit dense. However, this could just be a personal preference. read more

Great spot to get a quick bit to eat. 2 slices and 2 drinks was less than $20. Near Harvard square and open late.

This is what I was given when I asked for a slice of pepperoni. Pretty lame in my opinion. And a little friendliness would go a long way. Perhaps business is so great that they don't feel the need. I only went because Joe's literally had a line out the door and decided to walk to Pinocchios instead. I was able to walk right up to the counter. In and out in less than 2 minutes. read more

It's been many years since I've had Pinocchio's and I forgot how great it is! I got two slices for just under $10. One corner slice and one center slice, both delicious, surprisingly crispy and full of toppings. The service was friendly and fast. Sometimes it takes a while for redemption. After a concert nearby, she wanted some late-night eats and decided on something easy like pizza. I went for the buffalo chicken pizza. The slice was quite large and had a good amount of chicken. The pizza itself wasn't too burnt and was baked nicely. Also an important aspect was that the pizza was warm. Service was quick but informative and nice. Good spot for a cheap bite around an area that's getting more and more expensive for eats. read more

Great walk up experience to grab a couple of slices. Walked up to the counted, quick ordering and processing, was in and out in 5 minutes tops. Quick pizza spot next to Harvard. Cute with all the lights and decor inside. Service is quick. They take your order and head it up and hand it to you. They have many options but we opted for the Chicken Pesto and Pepperoni! The pizza is crispy which is nice but there is nothing really special about it. It was just a normal slice to me. Good for a quick snack if you're starving. read more

I'd only ever had Noch's at school events, so I already knew their pizza was great. But when my friend flew into town and wanted to try the famous Noch's, we went in person. At the counter, we had such a hilarious time talking with the owner and employees. They were blunt but incredibly friendly, making the experience very memorable. And the pepperoni pizza was -- without a surprise -- yummy, and at such a cheap price. Definitely worth the visit, especially since it's a favorite of Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates. read more

It is located on a side street a couple of blocks from Harvard square. It has six tables if you decide to stay versus take out. I had a meatball sub, a small but it was large enough for one serving. The meatballs had a lot of filler. I think it was bread. That accounts for the four meatballs in a small. This accounts for the decrease in stars from 5 to 4. They have a variety if Sicilian pizza if that is what you are looking for. Overall the service was good. I had the help twice offer to help me. If I was in the neighborhood and had hankering for pizza, I would return. read more

Just passing through as a tourist. Googled this place to discover it is a regular favorite for the surrounding Harvard crowd. Stopped by for lunch, saw the massive togo order. It was amazing food it is a hidden gem but gave it 4 because I don't want to get to popular

As a Jersey girl, I've always struggled to find good pizza in the Boston area. I think the reason I like Pinocchios is that they don't try to perfect the New York slice. Their pizza feels like something totally different, with the square slices and the thick crust. This time, I ordered the sausage and chicken pesto. I was a bit underwhelmed by the sausage because they were stingy with the toppings. The chicken pesto had a really nice flavor, but again, very little chicken. Still, the slices were quite delicious. However, they really could have warmed up the pizza a bit more, as they turned out just above room temperature. The service here is very fast, so this place is perfect if you're looking for something on the go. It's a casual spot with some seating, but it's really nothing fancy. Recommend for a quick slice! read more

Pinocchio's is a great place to grab a slice. I used to go here all the time when I used to work in Harvard Square. The location is sort of tight, so the ambiance is really a get in, and get out type of vibe. Which is absolutely fine, I just want to go in, and get my grandma slice to go. Lot of options for topping types, and they will quickly throw it in the oven to reheat and get you on your way. Its been here forever, and will probably continue to be as well. Service is fine, food is fine. You could go a lot worse, but this is good if your in a rush. read more
